Abstract

The problems in the learning process at Junior High School 13 Bandar Lampung is still dominating the teacher in the classroom. This results in low student concept mastery. cooperative learning model of STAD type to enable the students to learn so that students can increase mastery of concepts. The purpose of this study was to determine (1) the use of cooperative learning model type STAD significantly affect students mastery of concepts in the subject matter of the respiratory system in humans. (2) the average students mastery concepts using cooperative learning model STAD type of subject matter in the human respiratory system is higher.  (3) students learning activities using cooperative learning model STAD type of subject matter in the human respiratory system is higher. The sample in this study was VIIIC and VIIIE graders who were randomly selected by cluster random sampling technique. The results showed an average N-gain of the experiment class is 50.74 higher than the control class is 32.05. Test t1 to N-gains obtained on the tcount(-5.224) ttable(2.000) so that H0 is rejected. That is an average of N-gain in the experimental class significantly different from the average N-gain the control class. Then t2 test results show that tcount(19.343) ttable(2.042) so that H0 is rejected. That is an average of N-gain in the experimental class higher than the average N-gain the control class, so that students mastery of concepts can be expressed on the subject matter of the respiratory system in humans using cooperative learning model of STAD type is higher than the model of learning directly. Abstract

This study was aim to improve of the science process skill’s student through practical method. This experiment used pretest-posttest non-equivalent group design. The samples were VIIA  and VIIB  that chosen by purposive  sampling technique. The data consist of qualitative and quantitative. The quantitative data was the average value of pretest, posttest and N-gain were analyzed using t-test and Mann-Whitney U  test. The qualitative data was descriptions of learning activities. The results showed that by the practical method, science process skill students was increasing, with average N-Gain 50.93. The activities of students such as attention to the teacher, team work, answer the question, discussion also was increasing. Thus, the practical method improved the science process skill’s students. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan metode praktikum terhadap keterampilan proses sain siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan kuasi eksperimental dengan desain pretes postes kelompok tak ekuivalen.  Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIIA dan VIIB yang dipilih dari populasi secara purposive sampling.  Data penelitian ini berupa data kuantitatif dan kualitatif.  Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari rata-rata nilai N- Gain  pretes dan postes yang analisis secara statistik menggunakan uji t dan uji Mann-Withney.  Data kualitatif berupa deskripsi data aktivitas belajar siswa yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa melalui metode praktikum, keterampilan proses sains siswa mengalami peningkatan secara signifikan, dengan rata-rata N-Gain 50.93. Aktivitas belajar siswa seperti memperhatikan guru, bekerjasama, menjawab pertanyaan dan berdisusi juga meningkat. Dengan demikian, dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan metode praktikum berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan proses sains siswa.Kata kunci :  aktivitas siswa, keragaman sistem organisasi kehidupan makhluk hidup, keterampilan proses sains siswa (KPS), metode praktikum.

Abstract

This research aimed to know students’ problem solving capability. The design was simple descriptive by purposive sampling so those class VII.1,VII.2, VII.3, VII.4, dan VII.5 were choosen as subject. The technique of analysis that has been used is descriptive analysis. The qualitative data were obtained from conversion assessment of student worksheet, poster and written test. The results of this research showed that students’ problem solving capability had moderate criteria (68.32). The average of percentage of student worksheet assessment  had very high criteria (85.68%), low criteria (58.48%) on poster assessment and had moderate criteria (65.11%) on written test score. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa. Desain yang digunakan adalah deskriptif sederhana dengan subjek penelitian yaitu siswa kelas VII.1, VII.2, VII.3, VII.4, dan VII.5 yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif. Data kualitatif diperoleh dari konversi penilaian LKS, poster, dan tes tertulis. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa siswa memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah dengan kriteria sedang (68.32). Terlihat dari rerata persentase penilaian LKS memiliki kriteria tinggi (85.68%), kriteria rendah (58.48%) pada penilaian poster dan kriteria sedang (65.11%) pada nilai tes tertulis.Kata kunci : LKS, pemecahan masalah, pencemaran lingkungan, poster, tes tertulis

Abstract

The aim of this study was to know the influence of using practical method with Jigsaw learning model to the student’s science process skill. This study was a quasi-experimental using pretest-posttest equivalent group design. Samples were VIIA and VIIG that chosen by cluster random sampling. This research data consisted of quantitative and qualitative data. Quantitative data obtained from the average value of test were analyzed by using U-test. Qualitative data obtained from the observation sheet of learning activities and student feedback questionnaires were analyzed descriptively. The results showed the student’s science process skill was improve with average N-gain 63,05. The student’s learning activities was also improve with average 88.02. Thus, it could be concluded that using practical method with Jigsaw learning model was influenced significant to improve the student’s science process skills and the student’s learning activities in the characteristics of living creatures subject matter.Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh metode praktikum dengan model pembelajaran Jigsaw terhadap keterampilan proses sains siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan eksperimental semu dengan desain pretes-postes kelompok ekuivalen. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIIA dan VIIG yang dipilih secara cluster random sampling. Data penelitian terdiri dari data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari rata-rata nilai tes yang dianalisis menggunakan uji-U. Data kualitatif diperoleh dari lembar observasi aktivitas belajar dan angket tanggapan siswa yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan keterampilan proses sains siswa mengalami peningkatan dengan rata-rata N-gain 63,05. Aktivitas belajar siswa juga mengalami peningkatan dengan rata-rata 88.02. Dengan demikian, penggunaan metode praktikum dengan model pembelajaran Jigsaw berpengaruh signifikan dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dan aktivitas belajar siswa pada materi pokok ciri-ciri makhluk hidup.Kata kunci : aktivitas belajar, keterampilan proses sains, metode praktikum, model pembelajaran jigsaw

Abstract

Critical thinking skills (CBC) should be owned by every student. Observations indicate that the CBC eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 19 F Bandar Lampung is not optimal . The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of media realia through cooperative learning model type STAD the critical thinking skills of students in the subject matter of Structure and Function of Plants. The study design was a pretest-posttest non-equivalent. Quantitative data obtained from the value of the pretest, posttest, and N-gain statistically analyzed using t-test with 5% probability level. Qualitative data in the form of student activity data and questionnaire responses realia media students through model type STAD The results showed that the applicability of realia media through type STAD cooperative learning model is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills. In addition, an increase in students in the experimental class KBK with an average gain of 49.41% N-are the criteria being. The average percentage of student learning activities in all aspects of that observed in the experimental class had sufficient criterion is 43.56%. Most of the students gave a positive response to the use of realia media through STAD cooperative learning model type. Thus, through the use of realia media type STAD cooperative learning model is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills.Keywords: Media realia, type STAD cooperative learning, CBC, Structure and Function mainly description

Abstract

This research aimed to know the influence of guided inquiry learning methods towards student’s learning activities and student’s learning result. The design of this research was pretest-posttest with non equivalent. The subject of this research was student in the  class VIIA and VIIB, chosen by cluster random sampling.  This research used qualitative and quantitative data. The qualitative data was the observation sheet of learning activities. The quantitative data was obtained from research of learning and analyzed statistically by t-test. The activities of student’s cooperative in all observed aspects had moderate level that was 77,69 %. The result showed that inquiry learning methods improves student’s achievement in experiment class by average N-Gain about 56,83. Thus, guided inquiry learning methods could increase student’s learning activities and student’s learning result on the subject the characteristic of  organisms. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh metode pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing terhadap aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa. Desain yang digunakan yaitu pretes-postes tak ekuivalen. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIIA dan VIIB dipilih secara cluster random sampling. Data penelitian berupa data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data kualitatif berupa lembar observasi aktivitas belajar. Data kuantitatif berupa hasil belajar dan dianalisis secara statistik melalui uji-t. Aktivitas belajar siswa dari semua aspek yang diamati berkeriteria baik  yaitu 77,69%. Hasil belajar menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan metode pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada kelas eksperimen dengan rata-rata N-gain 56,83. Dengan demikian, penggunaan metode pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dapat meningkatkan  aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa pada materi pokok ciri-ciri makhluk hidup. Kata kunci :  aktivitas, hasil belajar, metode inkuiri terbimbing

Abstract

The purpose of this study was known influence of using picture card media toward critical thinking of students. This study design was pretest-postest non equivalent group. Samples were X4  and X5  that chosen by purposive sampling. The data of research qualitative and quantitative. The form of qualitative data was descriptions of learning activities and students questionnaire responses. Quantitative data taken of the average value of test were analyzed using t-test and U test. The results showed that activities students discipline and motivation (88.46), interaction with their partners (79.81) and communication skills of students (69.23) increased. Most of the studens gave a  positive response to the use of  picture card. Critical thinking of students was also improve with average N-gain 51.67. Thus, it can be concluded that learning use picture card media  was influenced to improve critical thinking of students.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media kartu bergambar terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Desain penelitian ini adalah pretes-postes kelompok tak ekuivalen.  Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas X4dan X5 yang dipilih secara purposive sampling.  Data penelitian ini berupa data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data kualitatif berupa deskripsi aktivitas belajar dan angket tanggapan siswa. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari rata-rata nilai N-gain yang dianalisis menggunakan uji-t dan uji-U. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas kedisiplinan dan motivasi siswa (88.46), interaksi siswa dengan pasangannya (79.81) dan kecakapan komunikasi siswa (69.23) mengalami peningkatan. Sebagian besar siswa memberikan tanggapan positif terhadap penggunaan media kartu bergambar. Keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa juga mengalami peningkatan, dengan rata-rata nilai N-gain sebesar 51.67. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran menggunakan media kartu bergambar berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa.Kata kunci: aktivitas, kartu bergambar, keterampilan berpikir kritis

Abstract

The purpose of this study was know the influence of application practical method to  activities and critical thinking skill of students. This study design was pretest-postest equivalent group. Samples were VII2  and VII3  that chosen by purposive sampling. This research data were of qualitative and quantitative. Qualitative data were descriptions of learning activities and students questionnaire responses. Quantitative data was the average value of test were analyzed using Mann Whitney U test. The results showed that the practical method not improved to critical thinking skill, however improved to student activities.The student activities were observe,  discussion, and giving opinion have average with high criteria(78,38%). The critical thinking skill of students was not improved with N-gain average was 14. Thus, it could be concluded that learning use practical method  was not influenced to critical thinking skill of students but it would be influence for study activities of students.  Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan metode praktikum terhadap aktivitas dan keterampilan berpikir kritis(KBK) siswa. Desain penelitian ini adalah pretes-postes kelompok ekuivalen. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII2 dan VII3 yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Data penelitian ini berupa data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data kualitatif berupa deskripsi aktivitas belajar dan angket tanggapan siswa. Data kuantitatif adalah rata-rata nilai tes yang dianalisis menggunakan uji Mann Whitney U. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode praktikum tidak berpengaruh  terhadap KBK, namun berpengaruh terhadap aktivitas belajar siswa. Aktivitas belajar yang diamati seperti mengamati, berdiskusi, mengungkapkan ide dengan rata-rata berkriteria tinggi (78,38%). KBK siswa tidak mengalami peningkatan, dengan rata-rata nilai N-gain sebesar 14. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode praktikum tidak berpengaruh terhadap KBK namun berpengaruh terhadap aktivitas siswa. Kata kunci: aktivitas belajar, keterampilan berpikir kritis, metode praktikum.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was know the influence of using audio visual media toward student’s  activity and  material mastery of students on the subject of human  respiratory system. Samples of the study were students of XI IPA1 and XI IPA2 which selected by Cluster Random Sampling technique. Quantitative data obtained from pretest-posttest  which statistically analyzed by T-test. Qualitative data obtained which analyze descriptively in form of students’ activity and students' questionnaire responses. The result showed that the activity of express the idea, teamwork, exchane the information, and present the results of the discussion has increased. Mastery of students also increased  with the average value of N-gain 55.34. So, it can be concluded that teaching-learning using audio-visual media was influential increased students’ activity and material mastery of students.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media audio visual terhadap aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa pada materi sistem pernapasan manusia. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI IPA1 dan XI IPA2 yang dipilih secara acak dengan teknik  Cluster Random Sampling. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari nilai pretes dan postes yang dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan uji-t. Data kualitatif berupa data aktivitas belajar dan angket tanggapan siswa yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas mengemukakan ide, bekerja sama, bertukar informasi dan mempresentasikan hasil diskusi mengalami peningkatan. Hasil belajar siswa juga mengalami peningkatan dengan rata-rata N-gain sebesar 55,34.  Dengan demikian, pembelajaran menggunakan media audio visual berpengaruh dalam meningkatkan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa.Kata kunci:  aktivitas belajar, hasil belajar, media audio visual

Abstract

The objective of this research was to find out the effect of using cooperative learning type GI to the student learning result and activities at Polution and Environmental Damage main material. The quantitative data was taken from average scores of pre-test, post-test, and N-gain which were statistically analyzed by using T-test dan U-test. The qualitative data were the student learning activities taken from observation and student response sheets. The result of this research showed that the using of cooperative learning model type GI has effect to student learning result. The average student learning result improvement at all indicators which were observed in the average N-gain scores in experimental class is higher than in the control class. The whole average activities of students with cooperative learning model type GI in the experimental class is higher than with discussion method in the control class. Furthermore, 84.6% of the students responded the cooperative learning model type GI positively.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan kooperatif tipe GI terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar dan aktivitas siswa pada materi pokok Pencemaran dan Kerusakan Lingkungan. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari rata-rata nilai pretes, postes dan N-gain yang dianalisis secara statistik menggunakan uji-t dan uji-U. Data kualitatif adalah data aktivitas belajar siswa yang diperoleh dari lembar observasi dan tanggapan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe GI berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Rata-rata peningkatan hasil belajar pada semua indikator yang diamati pada rata-rata nilai N-Gain pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Rata-rata keseluruhan aktivitas belajar siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe GI pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan menggunakan metode diskusi pada kelas kontrol. Selanjutnya, 84,6% siswa memberikan tanggapan positif terhadap penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe GI.Kata kunci: aktivitas belajar, group investigation, hasil belajar,  pencemaran dan kerusakan lingkungan
