Abstract

This research aims to describe the effectiveness of problem solving learning model to improve predicting and inferring skills in teaching electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions with redoks subject.  This reseach uses Quasi Experimental Method and Non-Equivalent Pretest Posttest Control Group Design.  The sample of this reseach are even semester students in class X6dan X7 MAN 1 Bandar Lampung in academic year 2012-2013 that used purposive sampling technique.  The effectiveness of problem solving learning model was measured based on significant N-gain improvements and t test.  The results showed that average value of N-gain of skills in predicting in control and experiment classrooms were 0.48 and 0.57 respectively; and average value of N-gain for inferring in control and experiment classrooms were 0.47 and 0.57 respectively.  Based on the t test, it is known that classroom with used problem solving learning model had higher skill in predicting and inferring than classroom with conventional learning.  This shown that problem solving learning model is effective to improve predicting and inferring skills in teaching electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions with redoks subject.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendekripsikan efektivitas model pembelajaran problem solving dalam meningkatkan keterampilan prediksi dan inferensi pada materi pokok larutan elektrolit dan non-elektrolit serta redoks.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan Non-Equivalent Control Group Design.  Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa MAN 1 Bandar Lampung kelas X6 dan kelas X7 semester genap Tahun Ajaran 2012-2013 yang diambil menggu­nakan teknik purposive sampling.  Efektivitas model pembelajaran problem solving diukur berdasarkan peningkatan N-gain yang signifikan dan uji perbedaan dua rata-rata (uji t).  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rerata N-gain keterampilan prediksi untuk kelas kontrol dan eksperimen masing-masing 0,48 dan 0,57; dan nilai rerata N-gain keterampilan inferensi untuk kelas kontrol dan eksperimen masing-masing 0,47 dan 0,57.  Berdasarkan hasil uji t, diketahui bahwa kelas dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran problem solving memiliki keterampilan prediksi dan inferensi yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas dengan pembelajaran konvensional.  Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran problem solving efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan prediksi dan inferensi pada materi pokok larutan elektrolit dan non-elektrolit serta redoks. Kata kunci : keterampilan inferensi, keterampilan prediksi, model pembelajaran problem solving

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of acid-base worksheets based science process skills (SPS) to improve students' SPS based on cognitive ability. The method of this research was quasi-experimental with the 2x2 factorial design. The population of this research were all students of XI science at SMAN 16 Bandarlampung. The samples were XI science 4 as control class and XI science 6 as experiment class. The Instrument in this research were students' worksheets based on SPS and conventional, pretest and posttest questions and attitude assessment sheets. The two ways ANOVA test, t test and Mann Whitney test were used as data analysis technique. The result showed that students' worksheets based SPS effective on improving students' SPS and there was no interaction between learning by students' worksheets based on SPS and cognitive ability to students' SPS. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas LKS berbasis KPS pada materi asam-basa dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains (KPS) siswa berdasarkan kemampuan kognitif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain faktorial 2x2. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA SMAN 16 Bandarlampung. Sampel penelitian adalah kelas XI IPA 4 sebagai kelas kontrol dan XI IPA 6 sebagai kelas eksperimen. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu LKS berbasis KPS, LKS konvensional, soal pretes dan postes serta lembar penilaian sikap. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah ANOVA dua jalur, uji-t dan uji Mann Whitney. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa LKS berbasis KPS efektif meningkatkan KPS siswa dan tidak terdapat interaksi antara pembelajaran menggunakan LKS dan kemampuan kognitif terhadap KPS siswa.Kata kunci: asam-basa, kemampuan kognitif, KPS, LKS

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of POGIL model to increase critical thinking skills in chemical equilibrium topic. The population is all of the students from XI Science at one of senior high schools in Bandar Lampung academic year 2018/2019. The sample was selected by purposive sampling tehnique which was obtained XI Science 5 as experiment class and XI Science 6 as control class. This research used quasi experiment method with pretestt-posttest control group design. Experimental class used POGIL model and control class used conventional lecture. The result with t-test indicated that score of n-Gain mean difference was significantly different between experimental and control class, supported by the percentage of students’ activity average at the experimental class is higher than control class, and POGIL model was implemented by high criteria. From the result, it can be concluded that the learning with POGIL model is effective to increase critical thinking skills in chemical equilibrium. Keyword : Chemical equilibrium, critical thinking skills, effectiveness of POGIL modelPenelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan efektivitas model POGIL untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis pada materi kesetimbangan kimia. Sampel dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling yaitu XI MIPA 5 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI MIPA 6 sebagai kelas kontrol. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan Pretestt-Posttest Control Group Design. Kelas eksperimen menggunakan model POGIL dan kelas kontrol menggunakan metode ceramah. Hasil uji-t menunjukkan perbedaan rata-rata n-Gain yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol, ditunjang dengan rata-rata persentase aktivitas siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi, serta model POGIL terlaksana dengan kriteria sangat tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran model POGIL efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis pada materi kesetimbangan kimia.Kata kunci : Efektivitas model POGIL, kesetimbangan kimia, keterampilan berpikir kritis

Abstract

The aim of this research was to develop the student worksheets based on the science process skills on electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solution topic. This research used research and development method(RD). The student worksheets which was developed had characteristics that suitable with the expected competencies, attractive to students and had qualified didactics, constructions, and technical requirements. Based on expert validation, the percentage of suitability the content was 87.27%, constructions aspect was 97.33%, readability aspect was 84.70% and attractiveness aspects was 84.00%. Expert validation and teacher response in the very high category. Based on teachers response about the suitability, constructions, and readability aspect of the student worksheets, it was in the very high category. Based on students response in readability and attractiveness aspects of the student worksheets, it was also in the very high category. It can be concluded that the student worksheets was proper to be used.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan LKS berbasis keterampilan proses sains pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non elektrolit. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan (RD). LKS yang dikembangkan memiliki karakteristik sesuai dengan kompetensi yang diharapkan, menarik untuk siswa serta telah memenuhi syarat didaktik, konstruksi dan teknik. Berdasarkan validasi ahli, persentase pada aspek kesesuaian isi sebesar 87,27%, aspek konstruksi sebesar 97,33%, aspek keterbacaan sebesar 84,70% dan aspek kemenarikan sebesar 84,00%. Hasil validasi ahli dan tanggapan gurudikategorikan sangat tinggi.Berdasarkan hasil tanggapan guru terhadap aspek kesesuaian isi, konstruksi dan keterbacaan LKS, aspek tersebut dikategorikan sangat tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil tanggapan siswa terhadap aspek keterbacaan dan kemenarikan LKS, aspek tersebut juga dikategorikan sangat tinggi. Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of learning by using the scientific approach in increasing the student’s originality thinking skill in acid base subject matter.  Scientific approach consists of five steps: observing, questioning, experimenting, associating, and networking. The method of this research was quasi experimental with Non Equivalent Control Group Design.  The population in this research was student of grade XI Science class SMA Negeri 3 Metro in the Academic Year 2013/2014.  Sampling was done by purposive sampling technique and obtained XI IPA3 and XI IPA5 as research classes.  The effectiveness of scientific approach learning was showed by the significant differences of n-gain between experiment and control class.  The results showed that the n-gain average student’s originality thinking skill in experiment and control class were 0,53 and 0,40 respectively.  From hypothesis testing was known that scientific approach learning was effective in increasing student’s originality thinking skill in acid base subject matter.           Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan efektivitas pembelajaran menggunakan pendekatan ilmiah dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir orisinil siswa materi asam basa.  Pendekatan ilmiah terdiri dari lima tahap:mengamati, menanya, mencoba, menalar, dan membentuk jejaring. Metode penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan Non EquivalentControl Group Design.  Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 3 Metro Tahun Pelajaran 2013/2014.  Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling dan didapatkan kelasXI IPA3dan XI IPA5 sebagai kelas penelitian.  Efektivitas pembelajaran pendekatan ilmiah ditunjukkan oleh perbedaan n-gain yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-ratanilai n-gainketerampilan berpikir orisinil pada kelas eksperimen dan kontrol sebesar 0,53 dan 0,40.  Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis, disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran pendekatan ilmiah efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir orisinil siswa ateri asam basa. Kata kunci:asam basa, keterampilan berpikir orisinil, pembelajaran pendekatan ilmiah.

Abstract

This research is intended to describe the effectiveness of guided inquiry learning model applied in acid and alkali subject to improve categorizing skill and competency achievement.  This research used Pre-experimental method by one-group pretest-posttest design.  The subjects of this research are the second semester students of class XI IPA1 SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Bandar Lampung in academic year 2012-2013. The effectiveness of guided inquiry learning model showed by the increase of pretest and posttest scores that can be seen by the n-Gain value based on the result of the teaching learning process.  The result showed n-Gain value of categorizing skill and competency achievement is 0,61 and 0,54, whereas the percentage of achievement of categorizing skill and competency achievement have reached KKM 82,75% and 75,86%.  It can be conclude that guided inquiry learning model applied in acid and alkali effective in improving categorizing skill and competency achievement in medium criteria.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing pada materi asam-basa dalam meningkatkan keterampilan mengelompokkan dan pencapaian kompetensi.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pre-experimental dengan one-group pretest-posttest design.  Subjek penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa-siswi kelas XI IPA1 SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Bandar Lampung semester genap tahun ajaran 2012-2013.  Efektivitas model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing ditunjukkan oleh peningkatan nilai pretest dan posttest yang dilihat dari nilai n-Gain dan ketuntasan hasil belajar.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai n-Gain keterampilan mengelompokkan dan pencapaian kompetensi 0,61 dan 0,54, sedangkan persentase ketuntasan hasil belajar keterampilan mengelompokkan dan pencapaian kompetensi mencapai KKM 82,75% dan 75,86%.  Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing pada materi asam-basa efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan mengelompokkan dan pencapaian kompetensi dengan kriteria sedang.Kata kunci: Inkuiri terbimbing, keterampilan mengelompokkan, pencapaian kompetensi.

Abstract

This research aimed to describe predicting and classifying skill in the colloid matery using guided inquiry models learning for high, intermediate, and low groups of student. The research subjects were students of class XI IPA5 SMA Perintis 1 Bandar Lampung. The method that applied in this research is pre-experimental with one shot case study design. Analysis done by descriptive statistic analysis. The results showed that the skill of predict in high level group 75% were excellent, and 25% were good; in the intermediate level group, 25% were excellent, and 75% were good; in the low level group, 25% were excellent, 50% were good, and 25% were enough. The skill of classify in high level group 75% were excellent, and 25% were good; in the intermediate level group 44% were excellent, 44% were good, and 12% were enough; in the low level group 25% were excellent, 50% were good, and 25% were enough.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keterampilan memprediksi dan mengelompokkan pada materi sistem koloid dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing untuk siswa berkemampuan kognitif tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI IPA5 SMA Perintis 1 tahun ajaran 2012/2013. Metode yang digunakan pre-eksperimental dengan desain one shot case study. Analisis data menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan memprediksi pada kelompok tinggi 75% sangat baik, dan 25% baik; kelompok sedang, 25% sangat baik, 75% baik; kelompok rendah, 25% sangat baik, 50% baik, dan 25% cukup. Keterampilan mengelompokkan pada kelompok tinggi 75% sangat baik, dan 25% baik; kelompok sedang 44% sangat baik, 44% baik, dan 12% cukup; kelompok rendah 25% sangat baik, 50% baik, dan 25% cukup.Kata kunci: inkuiri terbimbing, kelompok kognitif, keterampilan memprediksi dan mengelompokkan.

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of ADI learning model to improve argumentation skills based academic ability on additive and addictive. The method used was quasi experiment with Pretest-Posttest Nonequivalent Control Group Design by factorial type 2x2. Samples was selected by purposive sampling. Instruments used were student worksheets based ADI learning model, pretest-posttest. Data analysis used were ancova and t-test. Result of the research showed the average value of n-gain argumentation skills using ADI learning model higher than conventional learning not only high academic but also low academic. The conclution in this research was ADI learning model effective to improve argumentation skills, ADI learning model to improve argumentation skill not influenced by academic ability; and improvement of students argumentation skill high academic ability was not different as significant with students low academic ability. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model pembelajaran ADI dalam meningkatkan keterampilan argumentasi siswa pada materi zat aditif dan adiktif berdasarkan kemampuan akademik.  Metode yang digunakan adalah Quasi Eksperiment dengan Pretest-Posttest Nonequivalent Control Group Design serta tipe faktorial 2x2. Sampel ditentukan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah LKPD berbasis model pembelajaran ADI, soal pretes-postes. Analisis data menggunakan uji ankova dan uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata n-gain kemampuan argumentasi siswa model pembelajaran ADI lebih tinggi dari pembelajaran konvensional baik kemampuan akademik tinggi maupun rendah. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa: model pembelajaran ADI efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan argumentasi siswa; model pembelajaran ADI tidak dipengaruhi kemampuan akademik; dan peningkatan keterampilan argumentasi siswa kemampuan akademik tinggi tidak berbeda secara signifikan dengan siswa kemampuan akademik rendah. Kata kunci: kemampuan akademik, keterampilan argumentasi, model pembelajaran ADI

Abstract

Many Chemical concepts are abstract. Generally, chemical learning at this momen only in makroscopic and symbolic dimension, whereas submicroscopic often deserted. The research aim to develop animation media of multiple representation based on science material of reaction rate determinant factors. Method used is research and development (R D) according to Sugiyono (2008). Generally, research and development have three steps. There are step 1st) needs analysis, step 2nd) planning and development, and step 3th) evaluation the product. Results of this research is media of multiple representation based on science material of reaction rate determinant factors which have characteristic: 1) displaying science material of reaction rate determinant factors which be explained by multiple representation, 2) have parts consist of opening program title, foreword, instructional, competence standard, basic competence, indicators of product cognitive, indicators of process cognitive, science material of collision theory, science material of reaction rate determinant factors, literature, dan button for exit from the program, 3) have very high level of contents suitability that is 96.97 % according to teacher and also have high level of interesting that is 79.20% according students. Key words :  animation media, multiple representation, reaction rate determinant factors.

Abstract

The aimed of research was to describe the increase of grouping and inference skills on acid-base material on Learning Cycle 5E model.  This research used quasi experimental, with Non-Equivalent (Pretest-Posttest) Control Group Design.  The population of this research was students of XI science SMAN 1 Kotaagung, with XI science 1 class and XI science 2 class as samples.  The increase of grouping  and inference skills  measured base on the difference of a significant normalized gain (n-Gain).  The results show that mean value of n-Gain grouping skills in experimental class and control class ware 0.63 and 0.52;  and mean value of n-Gain inference skills in experimental class and control class ware 0.70 and 0.62.  Based on hypotesis testing used t-test, it was conclude that Learning Cycle 5E model could increase grouping and inference skills.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan keterampilan mengelompokkan dan inferensi pada materi asam-basa melalui model Learning Cycle 5E.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan Non-Equivalent (Pretest-Posttest) Control Group Design.  Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA SMAN 1 Kotaagung, dimana sampel yang digunakan adalah kelas XI IPA1 dan kelas XI IPA2.  Peningkatan keterampilan mengelompokkan dan inferensi diukur berdasarkan perbedaan n-Gain yang signifikan.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rerata n-Gain keterampilan mengelompokkan pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol yaitu 0,63 dan 0,52; serta nilai re-rata n-Gain keterampilan inferensi pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol yaitu 0,70 dan 0,62.  Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji-t, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa model Learning Cycle 5E dapat meningkatkan keterampilan mengelompokkan dan inferensi.Kata kunci:   keterampilan inferensi, keterampilan mengelompokkan, dan model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 5E,
