Abstract

The development of agroindustry based MSMEs can help the Indonesian economy. UD. Nula Abadi is the only MSME in Bondowoso District that processes cassava plants into flour and cookies so that it becomes a value-added product. Need the right marketing mix strategy to develop UD. Nula Abadi through analysis of consumer behavior on its customers. So the purpose of this study is to find out (1) the general characteristics of consumers and the process of purchasing decisions (2) attitudes and levels of customer satisfaction. The research method uses descriptive methods. Determination of respondents' samples with snowball sampling and judgmental sampling techniques. Data is collected by means of interviews, questionnaires, observation, literature or documentation. Data analysis using fishbein analysis, Customer Satisfaction Index, Importance Performance Analysis. The majority of consumers are women who are wives and work for civil servants. The purchase motivation comes from families and the types of opaque cookies are preferred by consumers. From the 22 attributes the results of the fishbein analysis entered the likes category. The CSI value of 88.82% is in the very satisfied category. The 4P marketing mix recommendation on products is to make innovative and distinctive products, on the place / distribution is the need to establish outlets and add agents / sales, on promotion is to use social media and direct marketing, and at prices is to use imitative pricing.

Abstract

This research is aimed to identify: (1) consumer perception towards the local ground coffee (powder) products; (2) factors affecting consumer decision to purchase coffee; (3) characteristics of coffee powder sought by consumers; and (4) right product development strategy for the local coffee. Study area is determined by deliberately (purposive method). Analyses of the data used are analytical hierarchy process (AHP) and factor analysis. The results show: (1) the respondents perceived that “Kapal Api” coffee is better than the local coffee and other branded coffee, (2) availability and product, price and social environment factors, and product quality are identified as the factors affecting consumer decision to purchase coffee in Jember, (3) Based on priority scales, characteristics of coffee powder sought by consumers are price (St2), product (St1),promotion (St4), and place (St3) respectively, (4) Based on the perceptions of respondents in details, product strategy consists of the taste (P5), aroma (P6), brand (P4), practicality (P1), packaging design (P3), package size (P2), meanwhile promotion strategies consists of advertisement (P7), sales promotion (P8), public relations (P10), and face to face sales (P9).

Abstract

Jember District is the second largest of coffee producing area in East Java (after Malang) with coffeeplanted area around 5,608 hectares. Based on the data in 2012, 27 of 31 sub districts in Jember arecoffee producers which means only 4 sub-districts in this region do not produce coffee. Each area,however, has a different potency on coffee production. To understand the role of coffee in the regionaldevelopment, an area mapping on distribution of smallholder coffee plantation is therefore needed asit related to labor employment in plantation sector, particularly as most of those run by smallholdersas well as the change of economic structure in Jember District. The importance of smallholder coffeeplantation’s role on labor absorption and economic growth on Jember will eventually determine thefurther policy on the development of smallholder coffee plantation as an important subsector inJember. This research aimed to: (1) describe the characteristic of distribution coffee plantation area bysmallholders in Jember District, (2) know the shift of GDP value from smallholder coffee in Jember,and (3) know the employment absorptive capacity on smallholder coffee plantation in Jember District.Both descriptive and analytic methods were used in this research. Methods of analysis used in thisresearch include location quotient (LQ), locality coefficient and specialization coefficient, shift-shareanalysis, demo-metric model, and contribution. The result of this study showed that (1) thecharacteristics of distribution smallholder coffee area in Jember Regency were not concentrated, (2)the shift share and position of GDP value from smallholder coffee were positive, and (3) smallholdercoffee plantation ability on producing the economic outputs and its contribution to the regioneconomic growth is followed by increasing labor absorption and have positive impacts on the districtregional development.

Abstract

Increased export volume of Indonesian cocoa exports could open up opportunities and make Indonesia a leading producer of cocoa. The Government expects the exporters began to seek opportunities to export processed cocoa cocoa commodity export prices to rise. The volume of cocoa in the cocoa trade in Indonesia is affected either directly or indirectly. Based on the conditions that have been described in the background of the above problems, it is necessary to study about the impact of Automatic Detention of Indonesian cocoa production.

Abstract

Konsumsi produk tahu dan pertumbuhannya dari tahun ketahun cenderung meningkat. Hal tersebut berdampak pada berkembangnya agroindustri produk tahu, salah satunya di Kabupaten Jember yang memiliki banyak agroindustri produk tahu. Salah satu sentra agroindustri tersebut berada di Rambipuji, Ambulu dan Ajung. Namun perkembangan agroindustri produk tahu cenderung stagnan, diduga terdapat masalah yang berhubungan dengan konsumen yang menginginkan diversifikasi produk maupun hal lain yang berhubungan dengan produk tahu, sehingga diperlukan suatu tindakan agar agroindustri tersebut semakin berkembang. Sebagai upaya untuk mendukung perkembangan agroindustri tahu, diperlukan analisis mengenai perilaku konsumen sehingga diharapkan dapat mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi konsumen dalam pembelian produk tahu. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode korelasional dan deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi perilaku konsumen dalam pembelian produk tahu adalah faktor kualitas, harga, ketersediaan dan motivasi (2) terdapat hubungan yang nyata antara tingkat pendapatan konsumen dengan faktor kualitas (3) terdapat hubungan yang nyata antara tingkat pendidikan konsumen dengan faktor kualitas.

Abstract

Kurangnya tenaga kerja pertanian pada usahatani padi di Desa Gumelar Kecamatan Balung diakibatkan oleh rendahnya upah yang diterima oleh pekerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui : (1) model kelembagaan penggunaan upah tenaga kerja pada usahatani padi; (2) curahan tenaga kerja dalam keluarga dan luar keluarga. Metode penelitian adalah deskriptif komparasi. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara dari petani terpilih berdasarkan Disproportionate Stratified Random Sampling. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dan t-test dengan sampel independent/two tail. Hasil analisis menunjukkan kelembagaan upah yang digunakan petani di daerah penelitian adalah : upah borongan, harian dan kedokan. Upah borongan digunakan pada kegiatan pengolahan tanah, penanaman dan kegiatan panen yang dilakukan oleh pendores. Upah harian digunakan pada kegiatan pencabutan persemaian dan panen yang dilakukan oleh pengarit. Upah kedokan digunakan petani pada kegiatan persemaian, penyulaman, penyiangan, pengairan, pemupukan, pemberantasan hama dan kegiatan panen yang dilakukan oleh pengedok. Curahan tenaga kerja luar keluarga lebih besar daripada curahan tenaga kerja dalam keluarga yaitu tenaga kerja luar keluarga sebesar 64,47 HKP/ha dan tenaga kerja dalam keluarga sebesar 13,68 HKP/ha.

Abstract

The use of certified rice seeds has several weaknesses, including the price of grain that is rela- tively the same as non-certified rice seeds and production that is not optimal if the varieties of seeds planted are not replaced every planting season. Therefore, the seed industry is trying to improve the ser- vice quality and products, as was done by UD. Restu Tani, which is by segmenting the quality of seeds. This study aims to determine the factors that influence farmers’ decisions to purchase certified rice seeds UD Restu Tani and to analyze the attributes that influence farmers’ decisions to purchase certified rice seeds. The research was conducted in Jember Regency. The sampling method was carried out using convenience sampling with 126 samples. The results showed that (1) the factors that influenced the farmers’decision to purchase certified rice seeds of UD Restu Tani with a real level of 10% were educa- tion, age, and quality of the seeds and (2) the farmers’ decision to purchase certified rice seeds was in - fluenced by five new factors, including planting technical information, product certification validity fac- tor, seed product availability factor, seed product quality, and seed product price.

Abstract

The demand for broiler is rising rapidly due to its capability as the main animal protein source. In contrast, the production of broiler meat is unstable due to the possibility of farm risk. Contract Farming (CF) is one of the risk management tools for farmers but has not been used effectively. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influence farmers’ decision to participate in CF. The analysis used six independent variables, namely farmer’s age, farm size, household size, education, farmer’s risk preference and risk aversion level. This study used primary data from 70 broiler farmers in Jember, which were divided into two groups, contract farmer and independent farmer. Each group had the same number of respondents. The results show that five among six independent variables significantly affected farmers’ decision to take part in CF. Farmer’s age decreased farmer’s probability to participate in CF, while education, farm size, household size and risk preference had positive effects. Farmer’s risk aversion level did not have any significant effect. The results suggest that the effort to expand CF participation should focus on young and educated farmers with large farm size.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui 1) tingkat efisiensi biaya produksi pada usahatani bayam hijau organik, 2) alur aliran rantai pasok bayam hijau organik dari petani hingga ke konsumen akhir, 3) nilai tambah pada proses pengemasan bayam hijau organik. Lokasi penelitian dilakukan secara sengaja (Purposive Method) di Dusun Penanggungan Desa Penanggungan Kabupaten Mojokerto. Data yang digunakan adalah data primer dan sekunder yang dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan analitik. Metode pengambilan contoh yang digunakan adalah total sampling dan metode snowball sampling. Alat analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis R/C ratio, analisis deskriptif dan metode Hayami. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) nilai rata-rata R/C ratio pada usahatani bayam hijau organik yang dilakukan sudah efisien, 2) terdapat 3 aliran dalam rantai pasok bayam hijau organik di Komunitas Tani Organik Brenjonk yaitu aliran produk, aliran keuangan dan aliran informasi yang berjalan secara optimal, 3) perhitungan nilai tambah pada pengemasan bayam hijau organik menjadi bayam hijau organik kemas memiliki nilai yang tinggi sebesar 64,02% grade A, 61,49% grade B dan 71,86 grade C.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) pendapatan usaha agroindustri asap cair tempurung kelapa pada CV Prima Rosandries di Kabupaten Jember. (2) besarnya nilai tambah yang dihasilkan dari proses pengolahan tempurung kelapa menjadi asap cair; dan  (3) Perkembangan usaha asap cair (ditinjau dari volume penjualan asap cair). Penentuan daerah penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode secara sengaja (purposive sampling). Alat analisis yang digunakan yaitu analisis pendapatan, nilai tambah dengan Metode Hayami, dan tren dengan metode kuadrat terkecil (least square method). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) Usaha Argoindustri asap cair tempurung kelapa yang dilakukan CV Prima Rosandries memberikan keuntungan. 2) Asap cair tempurung kelapa yang dihasilkan CV Prima Rosandries memberikan nilai tambah positif. 3) Usaha agroindustri asap cair tempurung kelapa yang dilakukan CV Prima Rosandries ditinjau dari volume penjualan sejak Bulan Januari 2014 hingga Februari 2018 mengalami peningkatan.
