Abstract

The objective of this study was to determine energy and protein requirements, for both maintenance and gain, of sheep in Indonesia by using a meta-analysis method. A database was developed from various in vivo experiments involving sheep as the experimental animals in which energy intake, protein intake and average daily weight gain (ADG) were reported. A total of 38 articles consisting of 137 data points were integrated into the database. Different breeds (Priangan, fat-tailed and local) and sexes (male and female) were specified in the database. Maintenance and gain requirements of dry matter, energy and protein were determined by regressing ADG with dry matter intake (DMI), total digestible nutrient intake (TDNI) and crude protein intake (CPI), respectively. An intercept (where ADG= 0 g/kg MBW/d) and a slope (required nutrient intake per unit ADG) were taken as maintenance and gain requirements, respectively. Results revealed that all sheep breeds had similar energy requirement for maintenance (TDNm). Energy requirement for gain (TDNg) of Priangan breed was lower than other breeds; the breed required 0.860 g TDN for 1 g ADG. Fat-tailed and local breeds required 1.22 and 2.75 g TDN for 1 g ADG, respectively. All breeds also revealed relatively similar protein requirement for maintenance (CPm), i.e. 6.27-6.47 g/kg MBW/d. Priangan breed required less CP for 1 g ADG (CPg), i.e. 0.295 g. Requirements of CPg for fat-tailed and local breeds were 0.336 and 0.497 g/g ADG, respectively. It was concluded that each sheep breed in Indonesia had specific TDN and CP requirements for gain, but similar requirements for maintenance.

Abstract

The objective of this research is understanding the correlation of characteristics with level of knowledge, attitude, and practice of slaughterhouse management concerning hygiene, sanitation, and waste management.  Research objects in this study are 3 types of slaughterhouse in Jakarta; pig, poultry, and ruminant slaughterhouse.  The aim of this study is determine the correlation of knowledge, attitude, and practice characteristics of slaughterhouse management related to hygiene, sanitation, and waste management. Tools used are questionnaire to assess knowledge, attitude, and practices of slaughterhouse management. Data collected consist by questionnaire filled by slaughterhouse agency. Data were analysed with SPSS® to calculate characteristic and variables correlation. On pig slaughterhouse management, there is correlation between educational background with knowledge (P<0.05; r=-0.804). On ruminant slaughterhouse, there is a correlation between income level with practice (P<0.05; r=-0.804) and knowledge level with attitude (P<0.05; r=0.641). On poultry slaughterhouse, there is a clear correlation between educational level with knowledge (P<0.05; r=0.686), income level with knowledge (P<0.06; r=-0.802), educational level with attitude (P<0.05; r=0.716), frequency of training with attitude (P<0.05; r=-0.741), frequency of training with practice (P<0.05; r=0.758), and employment status with practice (P<0.05; r=0.127). Training and socialization frequency must be improved especially for ruminant slaughterhouse for it is the location with the least number of training and socialization. Education level requirement for employment must also be increased since education level has a clear correlation with knowledge.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas mengenai perlindungan hukum bagi investor dalam melakukan investasi bitcoin di Indonesia. Meskipun telah dibentuk regulasi mengenai teknis penyelenggaraan perdagangan aset kripto, nyatanya aturan tersebut masih memiliki kekosongan hukum dan belum memberikan perlindungan hukum penuh pada setiap pengguna bitcoin yang melakukan investasi. Penulis ingin meneliti bagaimana peraturan Badan Pengawas Perdagangan Berjangka Komoditi (BAPPEBTI) dapat melindungi setiap masyarakat dalam kegiatan perdagangan atau investasi bitcoin di Indonesia.Penelitian menggunakan tipe penelitian yang bersifat yuridis normatif yaitu penelitian yang mengacu pada norma hukum yang terdapat pada peraturan perundang-undangan serta norma yang berlaku dimasyarakat, pendekatan yang digunakan adalah statutory approach (undang-undang) yang dilakukan pada taraf sinkronisasi secara horizontal, yang mengukur sejauh mana suatu perundang-undangan yang mengatur berbagai bidang yang mempunyai hubungan fungsional dan konsisten. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peraturan yang mengatur mengenai aktivitas bitcoin di Indonesia serta bagaimana perlindungan hukum bagi investor yang melakukan investasi bitcoin di Indonesia.Hasil penelitian ini menyebutkan bahwa Badan Pengawas Perdagangan Berjangka Komoditi (BAPPEBTI) telah mengkategorikan bitcoin sebagai Komoditi Kontrak Berjangka berdasarkan Peraturan BAPPEBTI Nomor 3 Tahun 2019 dan Peraturan BAPPEBTI Nomor 5 Tahun 2019 sebagai dasar investor dalam melakukan investasi, akan tetapi aturan tersebut hanya mengatur dan memberikan perlindungan bagi investor bitcoin di Bursa Berjangka saja sehingga masih terdapat kekosongan hukum bagi investor yang melakukan investasi diluar Bursa Berjangka.

Abstract

The quality and palatibility of silage and hay complete ration based on organic primer garbage in peranakan etawah (PE) poadABSTRACT. This research was conducted to study the quality and palatability of silage and hay complete ration based on organic primer garbage in nine heads of Peranakan Etawah (PE) Goat. The quality of silage and hay was evaluated By measuring pH, total number of lactic acid Bacteria (LAB), palatability, dry matter (DM) and organic matter (OM) aroma and color of silage. Nine heads of peranakan etawah were grouped based on their lactation periode and randomly assigned to one of tree dietary treatments. The treatments were (1) Control rations; (2) silage complete ration (SRK); and (3) Hay complete ration (HRK). The results indicated that the silage had PH 4.15 and total number of LAB was 2.4 x 10 cfu/g of silage. Dry matter and organic matter digestibility of SRK were better than those of HRK. The palatability of SRK was higher than HRK but less than control. Storage of SRK for did not change dry matter and organic matter content. Organoleptic analysis indicated that texture and color of HRK were changed at after storage, while SRK was still constant. It is concluded that silage composed of organic primer garbage has high quality in terms of physical, chemical and microbial characteristics, prolong storage.

Abstract

Performance of broilers fed diets containing potassium diformate to replace flavomycinABSTRACT. The aim of this research was to study the effect of potassium-diformate (PD) on broiler performance. One hundred and twenty old chicks of Cobb strain were divided into fifteen groups and feed one of five treatments, namely: P1 (control diet), P2 (P1 + 0,5%PD), P3(P1 + 1%PD), P4 (P1 + 1,5%PD) and P5 (P1 + antibiotic). Data from Completely Randomized Design were analyzed by ANOVA and any significant among them were used contrast orthogonal test. Treatments did not impact on feed consumption, mortality and percentage of viscera, but the groups treated with 1 and 1.5% PD and flavomicyne antibiotic had significant improvement on body weight gain (P0.169) and feed efficiency (P0.05). It is concluded that addition of 1-1.5% potassium-diformate in the broiler’s diet could improve feed efficiency and replace flavomycine antibiotic as growth promotors without influencing the performance of viscera.

Abstract

The quality of complete ration silage use traditional local feed materialsABSTRACT. The research was conducted to assess the complete ration silage products use traditional local feed materials of high water levels are currently still problematic in storage. The technology used is in a state of anaerobic fermentation technology. This study uses a random group, with 4 levels of water treatment (30, 40, 50, and 60%) and 4 groups of storage time (1, 2, 3, and 4 weeks) at room temperature, each unit of treatment was repeated 3 times. Silage made in a glass bottle filled with 200-300 g of feed a complete and total BAL plus Lactobacillus plantarum 105 cfu per gram of silage. Physically and chemically, products made from raw silage rations complete local feed has characteristics that are not much different from the silage forage. Water content and storage time is very significant (P 0.01) lower pH and increased total acids.

Abstract

ABSTRACT. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh substitusi hijauan dengan silase daun ubi kayu (SDUK) dan konsentrat dengan hay ubi kayu difermentasi ragi (Habira) terhadap produksi susu, kualitas susu, dan efisiensi ekonomi sapi perah. Materi yang digunakan adalah lima (5) ekor sapi Friesian Holstein (FH) periode laktasi kedua (66±11 hari) dengan bobot badan 387,6±6,8 kg diberi perlakuan pakan dalam Rancangan Bujur Sangkar Latin 5 x 5. Perlakuannya adalah T0 (hijauan 60% + 20% konsentrat + 20% ampas tahu), T1 (hijauan 40% + 20% SDUK + 20% konsentrat + 20% ampas tahu), T2 (hijauan 40% + 20% SDUK + 15%. konsentrat + 20% ampas tahu + 5% Habira), T3 (40% hijauan + 20% SDUK + 15% konsentrat + 20% ampas tahu + 10% Habira) dan T4 (60% hijauan + 10% konsentrat + 20% limbah tahu + 10% Habira). Variabel yang diukur adalah indeks suhu kelembapan (THI), konsumsi pakan, produksi susu, kualitas susu, hubungan konsumsi protein dan total nutrien tercerna/total digestible nutrient (TDN) dengan produksi susu serta efisiensi pakan dan ekonomi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai THI yang diperoleh mengindikasikan sapi perah mengalami cekaman panas. Perlakuan T1, T2, T3 dan T4 berbeda nyata (P0,05) dengan T0 dalam konsumsi nutrisi dan produksi susu, sedangkan komposisi susu tidak berbeda nyata antar perlakuan. Konsumsi protein dan TDN pakan memiliki hubungan linier dengan produksi susu (P0,05). Tidak ada perbedaan signifikan (P0,05) dalam efisiensi pakan dan ekonomis. Dapat disimpulkan SDUK dan Habira merupakan pengganti hijauan dan konsentrat yang baik untuk sapi perah laktasi.  (Effect of forage and concentrate substitution with cassava leaves silage and cassava hay on milk production and milk composition of Friesian Holstein dairy cows) ABSTRAK. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of forage replacement by cassava leaves silage (CLS) and commercial concentrate by yeast fermented cassava hay (Yefecah) on the production and quality of milk and economic evaluation. Five, early on the second lactation cycle (66±11 day in milk) Holstein Friesian cows were randomly assigned to a 5 (treatments) x 5 (replications). Treatments were T0 (60% forage + 20% concentrate + 20% tofu waste), T1 (40% forage + 20% CLS + 20 % concentrate + 20% tofu waste), T2 (40% forage + 20 % CLS + 15% concentrate + 20% tofu waste + 5% Yefecah), T3 (40% forage + 20 % CLS + 15% concentrate + 20% tofu waste + 10% Yefecah) and T4 (60% forage + 10% concentrate + 20% tofu waste + 10% Yefecah). Variables measured were temperature-humidity index (THI), feed intake, milk production, milk composition, interrelationship crude protein (CP) and total digestible nutrient (TDN) supply to milk production, and economic factors. The Result shows that T1, T2, T3, and T4 were significantly (P0.05) from T0 on nutrients intake and milk production. Whilst, the treatments were not significant (P0.05) affect to 4% fat corrected milk (FCM) and milk quality with T2 and T3 obtained the best value. The variables of CP and TDN intake have a positive relationship to milk production (P0.05). There were no significant differences in (P0.05) in feed and economical efficiency. It could be concluded that cassava foliage silage and yefecah were the good replacement of forage and concentrate for dairy cows.

Abstract

Tannin is one of plant secondary metabolites that could protect proteins from various microbes, both in feed material and in rumen. Tannin can be used as an additive in the silage production process, especially high-protein feed material. The study aimed to evaluate the physical quality of soy sauce by-product silage treated with Acacia mangium Wild. tannin (AT; condensed tannin). This study used the fresh soy sauce by-product, tannin of acacia and chestnut (CT; hydrolysable tannin), BAL and propionate acid (PA). Soy sauce by-product was fermented in silo with a capacity of 1.3 Kg. This experiment was arranged in a complete randomized design with 6 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were (R1) fermented soy sauce by-product, (R2) R1 + BAL, (R3) R1 + 2% AT, (R4) R1 + 2% CT, (R5) R1 + 0.5% PA and (R6) R1 + combination of 1% AT, 1% CT and 0.5% PA. The observed variables were the loss of dry matter (%), temperature (⁰C), smell, color and emerged fungus on silage. Analysis of variance was performed by SPSS version 23. For any significant difference between treatments was evaluated by DMRT at level of confident 5%. The result showed that AT suppressed the loss of dry matter up to 0.91%, and produced no smell with black color such as soybean color. The silage temperature was relatively similar for about 28.9-29.4 ⁰C, no emerged fungus, and did not able to maintain the normal silage temperature. Nevertheless, the use of acacia tannin could produce a good quality soy sauce by-product silage.

Abstract

Milk quality is affected by feed nutrient either macronutrient or micronutrient.  Roasted soayabeans and calcium soap were to increase supply by pas protein and fat to dairy cattle. Thus, organic mineral was to increase bioavailability of feed mineral to animal.  The objective of this study was to evaluate roasted soybean, mineral soap and organic mineral supplementation on milk quality of dairy cattle.  Twenty lactating Frisian Holstein cows (initial weight 361.4 ± 40.39 kg) were assigned into a randomized complete block design with 5 treatments and 4 blocks. The treatments were A: basal diet, B: A + roasted soybean, C: B + calcium soap of corn oil, D: C + calcium soap of corn oil, E: C + calcium soap of fish oil. The experimental diets were offered for 9 and 2 weeks preliminary. The results of the experiment showed that milk protein and lactose were not affected by diets.  Milk dry matter  of cows fed A, B, and D diets were higher (P<0.05) than those of fed C and E diets.  Milk fat of cows fed A,  B and D diets were higher (P<0.05) than those of  fed C and E diets. Milk density of cows fed B and E diets were higher (p<0.05) than those of fed A, C and D diets. Milk TPC of cows fed B diet were higher (0.05) than those of fed A, C, D, and E diets. It is concluded that milk quality especially milk protein and lactose concentration are not affected by roasted soyabeans, Ca-soap, and organic mineral. Abstract

Nutrition and rearing systems are some of the main factors affecting productivity of cows. Body condition score (BCS) is a method used to assess nutritional status and evaluate rearing systems of each animal. This study was done to analyze effect of BCS on reproductive performance and chest girth of Bali cow in different rearing systems. This study was conducted at the Field Station of Sekolah Peternakan Rakyat Kuamang Abadi, Bungo Regency, Jambi, Indonesia. A total of 62 heads of Bali cow with BCS of 2, 3, and 4 (scale 1-5) reared on intensive, semi-intensive and extensive systems were used in this study. This study was conducted using survey and direct observation. Variables observed were as follows: BCS, calving interval (CI), days open (DO), service per conception (S/C) and chest girth (CG). Data were analyzed using simple correlation and regression analysis in SPPS, followed by descriptive analysis. Result showed that the BCS of Bali cow in different rearing systems did not affect CI, DO, S/C and CG. BCS had a weak correlation coefficient (r), with the reproductive performance of CI, DO, and S/C at 0.09, 0.09, and 0.08, respectively. In addition, the relationship between BCS and CG was highly significant, with a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.532. Therefore, BCS had a positive relationship with CI, DO, S/C, and CG. Moreover, BCS cannot be used as the only indicator to assess the reproductive performance of Bali cow in different rearing systems.
