Abstract

This study examined the compliance and violation in the principle of cooperation within a WA group in the University of Muhammadiyah Jember. There were several WA groups used as the data sources. The method for data collection method is documentation. The data analysis method is agih. To check the data validity triangulation of data sources was done by observing the data of speech in other WA groups outside the research data. The results of the study indicated the existence of compliance and violation of the maxim of quantity, quality, relevance, and manner. The maxim of quantity compliance appears in the provision of information appropriateness to the needs of WA group members.

Abstract

Abstrak: Pembelajaran dapat disebut berbasis teks apabila teks menjadi dasar kegiatan pembelajaran. Pengertian teks mengacu pada semua wacana tulis dan lisan yang bersumber dari ungkapan pikiran manusia. Setiap teks memiliki tugas untuk menyampaikan pesan yang dipengaruhi oleh konteksnya. Konteks mengacu pada segala sesuatu yang ada dalam diri pebelajar dalam lingkungannya. Karena teks selalu berhubungan dengan konteksnya, maka pendekatan yang bisa dipakai adalah pembelajaran kontekstual. Pembelajaran teks melalui pendekatan kontekstual akan memudahkan pencapaian standar kompetensi. Melalui latar belakang kehidupan pebelajar, teks dapat disajikan, dianalisis, sampai dikembangkan. Di Indonesia, terdapat berbagai perbedaan budaya, bahasa, sistem sosial, ekonomi dan lainnya. Perbedaan ini akan menuntut teks yang berbeda. Teks akan berbeda antardaerah (bahkan antarsekolah) bergantung pada konteks pebelajarnya. Kondisi ideal seperti ini belum sepenuhnya ditemukan dalam penerapan kurikulum pendidikan 2013 pada pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia. Oleh sebab itu, diperlukan pengembangan teks pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia yang sesuai dengan konteksnya, sehingga dapat mencapai tujuan pembelajaran teks. Capaian tersebut bisa terealisasi dengan pendekatan pembelajaran kontekstual. Kata-kata Kunci: pembelajaran, teks, konteks, kontekstual

Abstract

The present study is aimed to describe the development of an innovated learning for the disabled students in higher education. The development of learning innovation was performed by developing a learning model, that is what so-called Universal Design model (DUE). The method implemented to develop the model was Research and Development). This method constitutes several stages, among others: 1) needs analysis, 2) gathering information, 3) designing a product, 4) validating the product, 5) revising the product, 6) trying out the product, 7) revising the product, and 8) consolidating the product. The result of the research shows that the produc, in this case is DUE learning model, has met the criteria after going through several tests from the experts, thus valid.

Abstract

The present community service is carried out to provide business development opportunities in the village of Karangduren, Balung, Jember. There are relatively many entrepreneurs in the fields of fish breeding, breeding flowers and various plants, making food and various snacks, and handicrafts registered in Karangduren. In collaboration with the Muhammadiyah University of Jember, this activity was initiated with the theme of introducing e-commerce to the enterpreneurs in order to help Karangduren become an entrepreneurial village. The implementation of this service involves 2 lecturers and 2 students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. The activity was carried out at the Karangduren Village Hall, participated by 17 business owners. Because this activity was carried out during the pandemic, there were restrictions on the number of participants and compliance with the Covid 19 health protocols. The team presented general overview of e-commerce and marketplace in a lecture format as well as distributed a module to every attending participant. After about an hour of lecture and a question and answer session, the team helped the participants to build their virtual business account using WhatsApp (WA) business.  Some participants practiced creating a WA business account and opening a shop on the market place. In addition, in the practice of creating a WA business account, the participants also created a catalog containing their product offerings. In the post-activity, the team interviewed some participants, and they appreciated the team for this activity. Through this, they are expecting their business to be known more widely thus obtain more income. New knowledge and skills in managing this virtual business will continue to be improved so that people can live independently and form new thoughts towards productive and entrepreneurial villages in the future.

Abstract

The Dictionary of Technical Terms has not shown any significant development on its existence. This dictionary has never been revised since its first publication in 1985 by the National Institute of Language. The dictionary which was presented in KBBI Daring has not also shown any significant changes. The means of defining terms are found to be similar to those of the common dictionary. It is evidenced that there has been no formula yet to define in the dictionary of technical term. This study aims to describe the pragmatic aspects of definition which is the distinctive feature in defining lemma in the dictionary of technical term. Nine different technical term dictionaries published in 1985 by Pusat Pembinaan dan Pengembangan Bahasa were taken as the sources of data to find out about definian and definiandum. Data were gathered through documenting and synthesizing the pragmatic aspects of definian. Pragmasematic approach is the basis of the pragmatic aspects found in the dictionary of technical term. The data were then analyzed using content analysis of similarities and distributions of the definian. The results showed that the pragmatic aspects can be seen from the citation of pragmatic features related to the user’s need while the use of semantic aspects still do exist. The blend of these two is called as pragmasemantic. The findings of this pragmasemantic are indicated by the existence of context setting features, participants, ends, norms, genre, and evidence contexts. This type of pragmasemantic conception consists of a single definian. The findings of this conception is expected to help developing the dictionary of technical terms into learners’ dictionary in which it emphasizes the contextual features of a lemma to assist the learners in grasping the lemma more precisely.

Abstract

Definisi berisi informasi berupa konsep-konsep, fitur-fitur pada sebuah lema. Konsistensi definisi dapat dilihat dari jenis penguraian konsep dan fitur, keajegan penguraian pada perubahan bentuk kata, dan ketepatan penggunaan definiandum. Penelitian ini mengaji konsistensi penggunaan definiandum. Berdasarkan hasil observasi awal, ditemukan adanya konsistensi dan inkonsistensi dalam penggunaan definiandum. Temuan ini menunjukkan adanya kesalaham penggunaan definiandum dalam Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia (KBBI). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan dua bentuk evidensi, yaitu konsistensi evidensi dan inkonsistensi evidensi. Konsistensi evidensi menunjukkan kesesuaian dan keakuratan konsep antara definisi dan contoh penggunaannya. Namun, meskipun makna dalam contoh definisi menunjukkan konsistensi, ditemukan adanya ketidakbakuan, ketidaktepatan penyusunan kalimat. Oleh sebab itu, diperlukan revisi susunan kalimat yang menjadi contoh penggunaan definisi. Inkonsistensi evidensi menunjukkan adanya pelanggaran terhadap konsep dalam definisi, ketidaksesuaian dan ketidakakuratan  makna antara definiandum dalam contoh penggunaan dan definian. Inkonsistensi evidensi ditemukan dalam bentuk peribahasa.Kata kunci: konsistensi, inkonsistensi, evidensi, definisi.

Abstract

UIN Suska Riau menggunakan jaringan optik untuk memenuhi kebutuhan layanan data di civitas akademika UIN Suska Riau dengan menggunakan konfigurasi star, bus, dan ring. Konfigurasi ring dapat membentuk rute kabel alternatif sebagai proteksi jalur transmisi yang diterapkan dalam upaya meningkatkan keandalan sistem. Analisis keandalan perlu dilakukan untuk mengukur berapa besar prosentase ketersediaan jaringan kepada user. Nilai availability dan down time system jaringan optik di UIN Suska Riau masih di bawah standar jaringan optik (kriteria Bellcore), dimana nilai availability lebih kecil dari 99,99% dan down time system jaringan lebih besar dari 52,56 menit/tahun. Hal ini disebabkan karena pengalihan trafik jaringan masih menggunakan sistem manual, sehingga waktu yang diperlukan untuk memindahkan switch dapat menambah laju kerusakan dan laju perbaikan sistem. Di samping itu, jaringan optik di kampus UIN Suska Riau juga tidak memiliki perangkat back-up, sehingga keberhasilan jaringan sangat ditentukan oleh keberhasilan perangkat.

Abstract

Teknologi Radio Over Fiber merupakan teknologi yang menggabungkan jaringan akses fiber dengan sistem wireless. Teknologi ini mampu memberikan flesksibilitas dan keandalan yang tinggi. Dengan menggunakan Sub Carrier Multiplexing dan Wavelength Division Multiplexing akan diperoleh sistem dengan bandwidth dan kapasitas yang besar, sedangkan arsitektur PON digunakan untuk mendistribusikan kanal. Sistem Radio over Fiber SCM/WDM-PON pada penelitian sebelumnya menerapkan teknik modulasi ASK dan QPSK. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan analisis performansi sistem dengan menggunakan modulasi M-ary PSK. Penentuan split ratio maksimum dan Minimum Required Power system merupakan dua skenario yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini. Dari hasil simulasi diperoleh bahwa semakin tinggi orde M-ary dan jarak jangkau transmisinya, maka semakin kecil pula kemampuan split ratio-nya. Semakin besar split ratio yang digunakan, maka semakin kecil nilai Minimum Required Power sistem.

Abstract

Plagiarism is an act of taking or stealing ideas of others, whether intentionally or not. This plagiarism can happen anywhere, by anyone, and in various forms of writing. This plagiarism is referred to as academic crime, so it must be avoided by all parties. This article will examine ways to prevent plagiarism. The scope of this study is in the Indonesian online tutorial at Universitas Terbuka. This article is written based on observations and practices in tutorial activities. In the context of this discussion, plagiarism means writing the same answers from several students during the learning activities. The similarity of answers may be obtained from similar sources. The similariries occur because there is no attempt to write with the correct citation, or paraphrase it. Therefore, it demands creativity and innovation from the tutor in conducting the learning or tutorial, both during discussion time and tutorial task. Creativity is applied in selecting and designing the problem form in discussion activities. This creativity is also related to the skills of the tutor in higher order thinking skills to the students. The concept of innovation is applied in the dynamics of the problem in the tutorial task. Dynamic tutorial will be an indicator of professional educator in performing his duties as tutor. Through the creativity and innovation of tutors, students are indirectly required to answer honestly, thoroughly, and comprehensively. Besides, students are also required to always open the material and questions, because the tutor creates the tutorial class to be dynamic, not static. In this way, the tutorial activities will be a medium and place oflearning for students and tutors.
