Abstract

Tennis is a sport that has a high level of skill complexity. Therefore, increasing mastery of punch techniques especially the forehand groundstroke and the backhand groundstroke techniques is essential. The purpose of this study is to examine the level of forehand and backhand groundstroke skills of students of Physical Education, Sport, Health and Recreation (PJKR) department, Health science Faculty, Jenderal Sudirman University (UNSOED), using block and random practice training method. Research employs experimental methods. The research sample is 2017 class male students of PJKR FIKES UNSOED using the purposive random sampling technique. The research instrument employs Dyer Tennis Test, with a validity of 0.85 and a reliability of 0.90. Moreover, data analysis uses a prerequisite test consisting of normality and homogeneity tests and hypothesis testing applies t test with a significance of 0.05. The results is random practice method has better effect compared to block practice method in improving the students forehand groundstroke and backhand groundstroke technical skills.

Abstract

Biomechanics is a study of science that focuses on the application and analysis of laws, forms and types of movements. 100-meter run and 1,600-meter run have different motion characteristics according to body, arms and leg angles. This study aims to analyze the motion of aerobic and anaerobic exercises based on biomechanical analysis. Research methodology uses quantitative descriptive research type. The sampling technique employs purposive sampling. The population is 60 Physical Education, Sport, Health and Recreation (PJKR) students of Jenderal Sudirman University (UNSOED). Data analysis technique applies kinovea software. The results show that 1600-meter run records the body angle of 138°, leg angle of 132° and arm swing angle of 67°. While 100-meter run shows the body angle of 117°, leg angle of 137° and arm swing angle of 65°. Hence, this study concludes that the description of 100-meter run body angle is leaning 20° forward compared to 1,600-meter run, the leg angle of 100 meter run is smaller 5° compared to 1,600-meter run, and 100 meter run swing arm is smaller 2 ° compared to 1,600-meter run. Futhermore, kinovea software has capability to provide clear data based on biomechanical analysis.

Abstract

Swimming is one of the measured sports that is influenced by several factors to be able to perform a variety of swimming style techniques well, one of the important factors and has not been studied more deeply, namely regarding the Body Mass Index (BMI) of junior swimming athletes. The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of the Body Mass Index (BMI) in junior high school age junior athletes. The research method used is ex-postfacto research. The population of this study is junior swimming athletes at the Tirta Kembar Purwokerto swimming club, while the study sample is all junior swimming athletes of elementary school age with an average age of 10 years totaling 20 children and consisting of 14 female athletes and 6 male athletes, using techniques total sampling. Data collection was performed using the Body Mass Index (BMI) instrument with a validity and reliability of 0.98. Data analysis used the Benchmark Reference Assessment (PAP) based on the Body Mass Index (IMT) criteria and then analyzed using Ms. assistance. Excel. The results showed that the Body Mass Index (BMI) of junior high school age swimming athletes at the Tirta Kembar Purwokerto swimming club showed an average value of vulnerable BMI, but there were two junior female athletes who were at BMI with overweight criteria, with the percentage of BMI less than 65%, BMI Normal 25%, BMI Overweight 10% and no children in the category of Obesity. The conclusion of this study is that, on average junior swimming athletes of primary school age have a thin IMT category, so it is less ideal for a swimming athlete at junior age. Suggestion of this study is that there needs to be special attention from parents and trainers regarding nutritional intake in children, so that children can have BMI criteria in the normal category according to their age, and avoid the risk of malnutrition and obesity.AbstrakRenang merupakan salah satu olahraga terukur yang dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor untuk dapat melakukan berbagai teknik gaya renang dengan baik, salah satu faktor yang penting dan belum dikaji secara lebih dalam yaitu mengenai Indeks Massa Tubuh (IMT) dari atlet renang junior. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu ingin meganalisis karakteristik Indeks Masa Tubuh (IMT) pada atlet renang junior usia Sekolah Dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian ex-postfacto. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah atlet renang junior di klub renang Tirta Kembar Purwokerto, sedangkan sampel penelitian yaitu seluruh atlet renang junior usia sekolah dasar dengan rata-rata umur 10 tahun yang berjumlah 20 anak dan terdiri dari 14 atlet putri dan 6 atlet putra, menggunakan teknik total sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan mengunakan instrumen Indeks Masa Tubuh (IMT) dengan validitas dan reliabilitas 0,98. Analisis data menggunakan Penilaian Acuan Patokan (PAP) berdasarkan kriteria Indeks Masa Tubuh (IMT) dan kemudian dianalisis mengunakan bantuan Ms. Excel. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Indeks Masa Tubuh (IMT) atlet renang junior usia sekolah dasar di klub renang Tirta Kembar Purwokerto menunjukan nila rata-rata pada rentan IMT Kurus, akan tetapi terdapat dua atlet junior putri yang berada pada IMT dengan kriteria berat badan lebih, dengan jumlah prosentase IMT Kurus 65%, IMT Normal 25%, IMT Kelebihan Berat Badan 10% dan tidak ada anak dalam kategori Obesitas. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu, rata-rata atlet renang junior usia sekolah dasar memilki kategori IMT kurus, sehingga kurang ideal untuk seorang atlet renang di usia junior. Saran dari penelitian ini yaitu perlu adanya perhatian khusus dari orang tua dan pelatih mengenai asupan gizi pada anak, sehingga anak dapat memiliki kriteria IMT pada kategiori normal sesuai dengan usianya, serta terhindar dari resiko kekurangan gizi dan kegemukan/obesitas.

Abstract

The level of motor skills of elementary school students can be influenced by many things such as movement experience, the environment, and facilities for learning so that it also impacts on learning outcomes. This study intends to find out the differences in physical education and sports learning outcomes of floor gymnastic material from elementary school students who have high motor skills. Floor gymnastic learning material is used in two cooperative learning model strategies (Student Teams Achievement Divisions and Jigsaw). The research approach method used was an experiment with a Pre-Experimental design. The students' motor skills were measured using the Johnson Fundamental Skills Test, while the series of floor motion exercises for Grade V Elementary School students were used as research instruments. The results of his study showed that there were differences in physical education learning outcomes and sports materials on floor gymnastics, groups of students with the STAD strategy got better learning outcomes compared to the Jigsaw strategy group. So, it can be concluded that the use of the STAD strategy cooperative learning model for students with high motor skills gives a better influence than Jigsaw's strategy on learning outcomes of physical education and sports learning exercises for floor gymnastics.AbstrakTingkat keterampilan motorik siswa Sekolah Dasar bisa dipengaruhi oleh banyak hal seperti pengalaman gerak, lingkungan, serta fasilitas untuk pembelajaran sehingga berdampak pula terhadap hasil belajarnya. Penelitian ini bermaksud untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar pendidikan jasmani dan olahraga materi senam lantai dari siswa Sekolah Dasar yang memiliki keterampilan motorik tinggi. Materi pembelajaran senam lantai digunakan pada dua strategi model pembelajaran kooperatif (student Teams Achievement Divisions dan Jigsaw). Metode Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan desain Pre-Experimental. Keterampilan motorik siswa diukur menggunakan Johnson Fundamental Skills Test, sedangkan rangkaian gerak senam lantai untuk siswa Sekolah Dasar kelas V digunakan sebagai instrumen penelitian. Hasil penelitiannya menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar pendidikan jasmani dan olahraga materi senam lantai, kelompok siswa dengan strategi STAD mendapatkan hasil belajar yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan kelompok strategi Jigsaw. Sehingga, dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran kooperatif strategi STAD kepada siswa dengan keterampilan motorik tinggi memberikan pengaruh yang lebih baik daripada strategi Jigsaw terhadap hasil belajar pendidikan jasmani dan olahraga materi pembelajaran senam lantai.

Abstract

Physical Education class is one of the solutions taken by regional schools to improve achievements in sports. The process of recruiting physical education class students has mostly conducted by using  the talent scouting test method which consists of physical test and skill test. However, the implementation of sport injury detection test using Functional Movement Screening (FMS) is still insignificant. The purpose of this study was to identify the student risk of injury in physical education class by using the FMS test. The research was an ex-post-facto method. The research samples were 32  students of class VIII in the physical education class at SMPN 1 Baturaden (20 males and 12 females) aged 14 years in average. The research instrument used was the Functional Movement Screening (FMS) test with the validity and reliability of 0.81. Data processing and analysis employed the Benchmark Reference (PAN) with the help of Ms. Excel. The results showed that 56.25% of physical education class students at SMPN 1 Baturaden were identified at risk of sports injuries. The results also showed an imbalance of strength between the right and left body muscles. The study  concludes that the use of Functional Movement Screening (FMS) test is important to minimize the high likelihood of injury of the students in physical education class.

Abstract

This study aimed to overview student fitness as detected from the Healthy Fitness Zone with the aspects measured were Body Fat Percentage, Body Mass Index, and Aerobic Capacity. This research method is descriptive correlational. The subjects of this study were 68 physical education students. The norm used in this study is the Fitnessgram to observe the Healthy Fitness Zone (HFZ) in students. The results showed that the students' fitness was high-grade with the percentage of BFP who were in the HFZ criteria of 91.2%, BMI in the HFZ criteria of 72.1%, and Aerobic Capacity in the HFZ criteria of 80.9%. Meanwhile, the correlation shows a significant relationship, with the value of Correlation (R) = 0.570 and sig. = 0.000 <0.05. It can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between Body Mass Index and Body Fat Percentage with the Aerobic Capacity of physical education students.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has made changes in the routines of physical activity and sports carried out by students, so it is necessary to know the condition of the Body Mass Index (BMI) owned by students, especially sports students. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between physical activity and the condition of Body Mass Index in sports students. The research method uses a Corelational study with the side technique used, namely Total Sampling. The sample in this study were students of the Department of Physical Education, Jenderal Soedirman University with a total of 41 people consisting of 31 men and 10 women. The research instrument used a 24-hour Physical Activity Recall test to measure the level of physical activity and a Body Mass Index (BMI) test. Data analysis used the prerequisite test for normality and linearity, while the hypothesis test used the Chi-square test to determine whether or not there was a relationship between two variables. The results of data analysis showed that the level of physical activity carried out by students in the Covid-19 pandemic situation was in the less/low category and Body Mass Index (BMI) in the overweight or obese category. The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between the level of physical activity and Body Mass Index, meaning that the better the physical activity, the better the condition of the Body Mass Index. or normal.

Abstract

The preparation of training programs for sports achievement coaching activities in schools, mainly Junior High Schools (SMP) through the Sports Extracurricular program, is an essential factor that coaches and mentor teachers must pay attention to so that the coaching process can run well. The purpose of this Community Service (PKM) activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of coaches and sports extracurricular coaches in preparing training programs. The activity method used is through training, mentoring and activity evaluation. The training was attended by 20 sports extracurricular coaches and teachers in SMP throughout Purwokerto. The training and mentoring results showed that in the initial test, it was found that most of the participants did not understand the preparation of an exercise program so that they were not able to compile an exercise program properly. In contrast, the final test carried out at the end of the activity showed an increase in the participants' understanding of a sports training program's preparation. The participants training participants can compile a game sports training program that will be implemented in school extracurricular activities.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the relationship between the level of physical fitness with intellectual intelligence (IQ) in soccer athletes. The research method uses the correlational method. The sample in this study were 13 male soccer athletes who were members of the football Club at the college level. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The research instrument used to measure students' physical fitness was the Multilevel Fitness Test (MFT). Meanwhile, the measurement of intellectual intelligence (IQ) uses an IQ test with Standard Progressive Matrices (SPM) test. Data analysis used a correlation test to confirm the relationship between physical fitness and intellectual intelligence (IQ). The results showed that the male soccer athletes' average level of physical fitness (Vo2 Max) was in a good category. The intermediate IQ level is in the High Average category. The correlation test shows a linear relationship between physical fitness and intellectual intelligence (IQ). The better the physical fitness, the higher the intellectual intelligence.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the results of shooting free throws which were analyze biomecally using kinovea software and to find out details of the angle (degrees) resulting from shooting free throw. Design of this research is descriptive quantitative with persentage by analizyng the free throw shooting motion which is 4 categorized; result of point shooting by applying the BEEF principle, shooting result point not applying the BEEF principle, shooting result no point but applying the BEEF principle, shooting result no point and no applying BEEF principle. The population are who were members of the UKM basketball Jenderal Soedirman University. The sample in this reseacrh amounted to 30 people. The analysis shooting motion the incoming ball free throw by applying the BEEF principle gets the highest percentage results, 46.6%; Balance of 83.90°, Elbow 89.21°, all off sample of this category is focused on the target shooting, follow through 179.98°. Shooting free throw by applying the correct BEEF principle will get a greater percentage of balls in than not applying. Of course with the support other dominant factors such as mental, self efficacy and antropometry.
