Abstract

The alkyd resin industry currently needs environmentally friendly raw materials, which emphasized the aspect of sustainability. Alkyd resin is a polymer product with oil as raw material which is widely used in the paint, coating, and other industries. The abundant demand for alkyd resin has led to a diversification of the raw material for alkyd resin from vegetable oils. The advantages of vegetable oil include being a renewable energy source for industry, sustainability, biodegradability, and being environmentally friendly as important considerations for the industry in recent times. This paper examines alkyd resins derived from several vegetable oils that are environmentally friendly. Alkyd resin is prepared by alcoholysis and esterification. Based on several studies of alkyd resins, there have been many modifications to the raw materials, technology, and catalysts used which can refer to an environmentally friendly and affordable industry.Keywords: alkyd resin; biodegradability; environmentally friendly; sustainability; vegetable oilA B S T R A KIndustri polimer pada masa ini membutuhkan bahan baku yang ramah lingkungan, yang menekankan pada keberlanjutan. Alkid resin adalah salah satu produk berbasis minyak yang banyak digunakan dalam industri cat, coating, dan industri lainnya. Keberlanjutan, biodegradabilitas, dan keramahan terhadap lingkungan menjadi pertimbangan signifikan bagi industri berbasis minyak nabati dalam beberapa waktu terakhir. Di dalam naskah ini, diulas beberapa minyak nabati yang digunakan untuk memproduksi alkid resin dengan cara alkoholisis dan esterifikasi. Berdasarkan berbagai studi yang telah dilakukan, masih terdapat modifikasi dari sisi material, teknologi dan katalis agar tercipta industri yang ramah lingkungan.Kata kunci: alkid resin; biodegradabilitas; keberlanjutan; minyak nabati; ramah lingkungan

Abstract

Tongkol jagung merupakan limbah jagung terbesar (45%) yang mengandung xilan sekitar 12% dan belum banyak dimanfaatkan. Tongkol jagung mempunyai prospek untuk bahan baku industri xilan, yang merupakan bahan baku industri furfural, gula xilitol, dan bahan baku untuk media pertumbuhan bakteri xilanase. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan metode ekatraksi xilan dari tongkol jagung dan karakterisasi xilan yang dihasilkan. Ekstraksi xilan dari tongkol jagung dilakukan dengan dua tahap yaitu proses delignifikasi menggunakan NaOCl (0,5; 1,0; 2,5; 5 dan 7,5%) kemudian pengendapan xilan dengan perlakuan rasio supernatan dan etanol 1:1; 1:2; 1:3; dan 1:4. Ekstrak xilan selanjutnya diuji kelarutan pada pelarut organik, asam, alkali, air panas dan dingin. Analisis kualitatif dan kuantitatif xilan dilakukan dengan Khromatografi Cair Kinerja Tinggi . Hasi l penelit ian menunjukkan kombinasi perlakuan konsentrasi NaOCl 0,5% dan perbandingan supernatan:etanol 1:3 (v/v), menghasilkan rendemen xilan tertinggi (12,95%). Analisis dengan Khromatografi Cair Kinerja Tinggi menghasilkan khromatogram xilan dengan kemurnian 97,47%. Xilan yang dihasilkan sangat larut dalam alkali (NaOH 1%), larut dalam air panas dan dingin.Extraction Of Xylan From Corn CobCorn cob is the biggest part of corn waste (45%) which contain about 12% xylan which has not been utilized. Corn cob can be used as raw material of production of xylan. Xylan is the raw material for furfural, xylitol industry, and growth medium for microorganism producing xylanase.The objectives of this research was to find out the method of extracting the xylan, and characterization of xylan produced. The extraction procedure were done in two steps, firstly delignification using NaOCI (0.5; 1.0; 2.5; 5 and 7.5%) and then precipitation using ethanol with the ratio of ethanol and supernatant (I: I; 1:2; 1:3; and 1:4). The solubility of xylan produced in organicsolvent, acid, alkaline solvent and in cold and hot water was observed. Quantitative and qualitative analysis of xylan were done using High Performance Liquid Chromatography. The research result showed that the highest yield (12.95%) whith purity (97.47%) was produced by 0.5% NaOCI and 1 : 3 ratio of ethanol and supernathant combination treatment. The highest solubility of xylan was in alkaline solvent (NaOH 1%), and soluble in hot and cool water.

Abstract

The optimum conditions for the growth of Bacillus pumilus RXAIII-5 (a potential xylanase producer) were sought, these included temperature, pH, aeration, and agitation of the culture batch. Afterwards a mathematical model based on the parameter of cultivation kinetics was formulated. At the same time, the rheology of the fluid used for bacterial cultivation in a bioreactor was studied. The data obtained was used for estimating the ‘scaling up’ of enzyme production. The results of the study indicate that the optimum condition for processing in 50 ml Erlenmeyer flask are used temperature of 35 oC (308oK), pH 7, and an agitation rate of 140 rpm. The highest xylanase activity and its specific activity are 297.132 U.ml-1 and 655.32 U.g-1protein, respectively. Subsequent experiments in a bioreactor using all of the experiment parameters mentioned above, except for the agitation rate, shows that the results are as follows. The highest specific growth was at 0.082 hour-1 at an aeration and agitation rate of 0.5 vvm and 150 rpm, respectively. Based on the data of the cultivation kinetics, the optimum conditions for the fermentation in Biostat 2L-bioreactor is 1 vvm and 200 rpm of aeration and agitation, respectively . The efficiency of substrate (Yp/s) and of cell biomass (Yp/x) to produce xylanase is 50.744 U.g-1 and 43.906 U.g-1, respectively. The efficiency of substrate to cell production (Yx/s) is 1.178g.g-1. The liquid cultivation-medium has non-Newtonian properties. Based on a mathematical model it is found that the consistency index (k constant) and index of liquid behavior (n value) are 0.179 g.cm-1.second-1 and 0.3212, respectively. Becouse the value of 0

Abstract

Abstract: This paper seeks to explore the influence of motivation and competences on civil-service lecturers’ performance and academic grade promotion. It employed descriptive quantitative and qualitative research by distributing questionnaires to 64 civil-service lecturers serving in private universities. It deals with the following academic grade: instructor, assistant professor, and associate professor. Then, the data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression with statistical processing program. The results affirm that simultaneously both motivation and competence influence lecturers’ performance. Key Words: academic grade of lecturer, competence, performance, motivation, regressionAbstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji serta menganalisis pengaruh motivasi dan kompetensi terhadap kinerja dan kenaikan jabatan fungsional dosen PNS. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode survei melalui penyebaran kuesioner terhadap 64 orang dosen PNS yang ditugaskan pada perguruan tinggi swasta, dengan kualifikasi jenjang jabatan fungsional Asisten Ahli, Lektor, dan Lektor Kepala. Analisis data menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan uji regresi berganda dengan menggunakan bantuan aplikasi pengolah statistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variabel independen, yaitu motivasi dan kompetensi secara bersama-sama atau simultan mempunyai pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap variabel dependen, yaitu kinerja dosen PNS.  Kata kunci: jabatan fungsional dosen, kompetensi, kinerja, motivasi, regresi

Abstract

Abstract: The government encourages Vocational High Schools to carry out organizational transformation to become Regional Public Service Bodies. Through BLUD, SMKs with superior products can manage finances and production processes more flexibly without violating regulations so that school effectiveness can be achieved. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence SMK-BLUD schools' effectiveness through school independence using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis. The data were obtained by distributing questionnaires to 231 respondents from students, teachers, school principals, and committees in 25 SMK-BLUDs in East Java and DKI Jakarta. It is known that the variables focus on customers, focus on processes, and continuous improvement have a positive and significant impact on school effectiveness. In addition, the independence of each school indirectly also has a positive and significant effect on school effectiveness. The results of this modeling show the value of Predictive Relevance (Q2) of 0.965, meaning that this model has a good Predictive Relevance.Abstrak: Pemerintah mendorong Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) melakukan transformasi organisasi untuk menjadi SMK Badan Layanan Umum Daerah (SMK-BLUD). Melalui BLUD, SMK yang memiliki produk-produk unggulan dapat mengelola keuangan dan proses produksi secara lebih fleksibel tanpa melanggar peraturan sehingga efektivitas sekolah dapat tercapai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi efektivitas sekolah SMK-BLUD melalui kemandirian sekolah menggunakan analisis PLS-SEM. Data diperoleh melalui penyebaran kuesioner kepada 231 responden dari siswa, guru, kepala sekolah, dan panitia di 25 SMK-BLUD di Jawa Timur dan DKI Jakarta. Diketahui bahwa variabel fokus pada pelanggan, fokus pada proses, dan perbaikan berkelanjutan memberikan pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan terhadap efektivitas sekolah. Selain itu, dengan adanya kemandirian setiap sekolah, secara tidak langsung juga memberikan pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan terhadap efektivitas sekolah. Hasil pemodelan ini menunjukkan nilai Predictive Relevance (Q2) sebesar 0.965, artinya model ini memiliki Predictive Relevance yang baik.

Abstract

Business model innovation is a business practice tool to develop a business competitive advantage. Extensive research on the business model has resulted in wide definition, conceptualization, and its multi case-based results. But there is still a lack of study in measuring the business models as proof of its performance. This study fills the gap by analyzing the business model innovation performance in special cases of food and beverage small and medium industries (SMIs) in Bogor City and finding room improvement to increase their performance. This study uses practical business model performance analysis with three dimensions acquired by a rigorous approach from the previous study. As a result, this measuring method shows the performance of food and beverage SMIs Bogor City mostly innovative. However, there are some improvements needed to increase the performance in element new capability, new channel, and new revenue model.

Abstract

Teacher work productivity is a determining factor for the success of education quality, because teachers face directly with students in providing guidance that will produce professional graduates. The purpose of this study was to examine the direct effect of group cohesiveness, job satisfaction and absenteeism on the work productivity of vocational high school teachers. This research was conducted in Bekasi, Indonesia. This study uses a survey method with the path analysis approach. Data collection by distributing questionnaires as many as 104 teachers with simple random sampling technique with Slovin formula. Based on the results of testing the hypothesis in this study it was concluded that:(1) group cohesivenesshas a positive direct effect on teacher work productivity; (2) job satisfaction has a positive direct effect on teacher work productivity; (3) absenteeism has a direct negative effect on work productivity; (4) group cohesiveness has a direct negative effect on absence; and (5) job satisfaction has a direct negative effect on absence;(6) group cohesivenesshas a positive direct effect on job satisfaction. Abstrak Produktivitas kerja guru merupakan faktor penentu keberhasilan mutu pendidikan, sebab guru bersinggungan langsung dengan peserta didik dalam memberikan bimbingan yang muaranya akan menghasilkan lulusan profesional. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji pengaruh langsung kepuasan kerja dan kemangkiran terhadap produktivitas kerja guru SMK.Penelitian ini dilakukan di Bekasi, Indonesia.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dengan pendekatan path analysis.Pengumpulan data dengan menyebarkan kuesioner sebanyak 104 guru dengan teknik simple random sampling menggunakan rumus slovin. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian hipotesis dalam penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa: (1) kohesivitas kelompok berpengaruh langsung positif terhadap produktivitas kerja guru;(2) kepuasan kerja berpengaruh langsung positif terhadap produktivitas kerja guru; (3) kemangkiran (absenteeism) berpengaruh langsung negatif terhadap produktivitas kerja; (4) kohesivitas kelompokberpengaruh langsung negatif terhadap kemangkiran (absenteeism); dan (5) kepuasan kerja berpengaruh langsung negatif terhadap kemangkiran (absenteeism); (6) kohesivitas kelompok berpengaruh langsung positif terhadap kepuasan kerja. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the influence of managerial ability and creativity on headmaster’s decision making in Junior High School of Counties and Tangerang City.The research used survey method with path analysis applied in testing hypothesis. Technique of data collecting is using instrument from questionnaire. The number of 60 headmaster’s sample was selected by simple random sampling.The result of this research indicated that: 1) there is a direct positive effect of managerial ability to headmaster’s decision making, 2) there is a direct positive effect of creativity to headmaster’s decision making and 3) there is a direct positive effect of managerial ability to creativity. Abstrak Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh kemampuan manajerial dan kreatifitas terhadap pengambilan keputusan kepala sekolah di SMP Negeri dan Kota Tangerang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dengan analisis jalur yang diterapkan dalam pengujian hipotesis. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen dari kuesioner. Jumlah sampel 60 kepala sekolah dipilih dengan simple random sampling. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: 1) ada pengaruh positif langsung dari kemampuan manajerial terhadap pengambilan keputusan kepala sekolah, 2) ada pengaruh positif langsung kreatifitas terhadap keputusan kepala sekolah. membuat dan 3) ada efek positif langsung dari kemampuan manajerial terhadap kreatifitas Kata Kunci: Pengambilan Keputusan, Kemampuan Manajerial dan Kreatifitas

Abstract

Oil palm plantations as one of the sexiest commodities; produce a high yield of oil and fat that can be used in various sectors. The prospect of oil palm and its derivative products is good, but there are obstacles and problems faced that are mainly related to sustainability issues in oil palm plantations and its downstream process. Therefore, it is important to study the decision-making process that are needed to develop sustainable palm oil agroindustry. This paper aims at providing a comprehensive literature review for decision support system for sustainable agroindustry. Totally, 186 scientific publication articles from 2005 to 2019 were reviewed and synthesized. The reviewed articles were categorize based on the keywords of palm oil sustainability, geographic information system (GIS), and decision support system (DSS). The research gap and pointers for future research that are identified is the lack of sustainability aspect inclusion on decision-making process. We also identified the lack discussion of integrated spatial and intelligent tools through DSS for better, faster, and smarter decision-making process. In the end part of the paper, a pointer for possible future research was develop in terms of combination through spatial-intelligent system applying business analytics for sustainable agroindustry.
