Abstract

Background & Objective: Prediabetes is a high-risk condition for developing diebetes mellitus. Adult women have a higher risk of experiencing prediebetes compared with men. Excessive of simple carbohydrate intake, low of fiber intake and physical activity risk to increasing blood glucose levels. This study aimed to analyze the correlation between total carbohydrate intake, simple carbohydrate intake, fiber intake and physical activity with prediabetes in adult women. Materials and Methods: This study used a case control with 36 women aged 45-55 years old in each group chosen by simple random sampling. Food intake was assessed using by Semi FFQ. Waist circumference was measured using by a tape measure, and physical activity was obtained using by Long IPAQ. Data were analyzed using by Chi Square, Fisher Exact and multiple logistic regression test. Results: There is a difference in mean of waist circumference, fasting blood glucose, simple carbohydrate intake, fiber intake and physical activity in both groups. The variable at risk for prediabetes were simple carbohydrate intake (OR=3,94;95%CI 1,23-12,56), fiber intake (OR=2,63;95%CI 0,91-7,63) and fat intake (OR=2,14;95%CI 0,78-5,84). Intake of simple carbohydrate and fiber are the most dominant variable that affecting the incidence of prediabetes with a proportion of 14,5%. There were no correlation between total carbohydrate intake, fiber intake and physical activity with prediabetes in adult women. Conclusion: Excessive simple carbohydrate intake and low fiber intake were risk in the occurrence of prediabetes

Abstract

 Latar belakang : lingkar leher merupakan pengukuran antropometri yang relatif baru yang menggambarkan lemak subkutaneus tubuh bagian atas serta berkorelasi dengan obesitas dan sindrom metabolik. Lemak tubuh total pada obese memiliki hubungan dengan kelainan metabolik. Pengukuran lemak tubuh total pada obese secara sederhana belum banyak diteliti terutama korelasinya dengan lingkar leher.Tujuan : menentukan korelasi lingkar leher dengan persentase lemak tubuh total pada obesitas.Metode penelitian : penelitian korelasional ini melibatkan subyek obese dan normoweight sebanyak 186 perawat di RSUP Dr. Kariadi Semarang dari bulan Juni-Juli 2017 yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Dilakukan pengukuran lingkar leher dan pengukuran lemak tubuh total, lemak viseral dan lemak subkutaneus whole body menggunakan Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA). uji hipotesis menggunakan korelasi sederhana.Hasil : Rerata lingkar leher subyek obese dan normoweight adalah 36±1,8 cm dan 31,9±2,1 cm. Terdapat korelasi bermakna antara lingkar leher dengan lemak total tubuh (r=0,310; p=0,002), lemak viseral (r=0,543; p=0,000) dan lemak subkutaneus whole body (r=0,492; p=0,000) pada sampel obese..Simpulan : terdapat korelasi bermakna antara besarnya lingkar leher dengan lemak tubuh total, lemak viseral dan lemak subkutaneus whole body.Kata kunci : lingkar leher, lemak tubuh total, lemak viseral, lemak subkutaneus whole body

Abstract

Background: Malnutrition remains a health problem in either developed and developing countries, caused by a variety of individuals and factors related to the disease. Caretaker/family support to help patient's intake, the attitude of the team manager of the patient, the procedure of advance examination, is an important factor to improve inpatients intake. But the association of knowledge, attitudes, and behavior patient's caretaker to the adequacy of inpatients food intake not yet unknown.Methods: This research is association research, performed at the Rajawali ward at dr. Kariadi Hospital with a total sample of at least 50 people. The measurement of knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of patient's caretaker use detailed questionnaire. The answer of the respondent's questionnaire or interview processed by computer software to know the depth and the association between the variables.Results: Most of the respondents are women and 1,5 times than men. The age of respondents mostly above 50 years old (32%). Most of them are primary school graduates (39,3%). 76% of Respondent's income are less than 2,3 million rupiah. 55,4% are married. The level of respondent's knowledge about patient's food intake shows a good level of knowledge. Respondent's attitude regarding patient's food intake shows positive attitude about nutrition and adequacy of patient's food intake. Respondent's behaviour regarding patient's food intake shows a good result.Conclusion: a good knowledge influence a positive attitude, a positive attitude related to the behavior to the adequacy of patient's food intake, while the level of knowledge was not significantly related to the behavior of the adequacy of patient's food intake.Keywords: knowledge, attitude, behavior, patient?s caretaker, food intake.

Abstract

Latar Belakang : Small dense Low Density Lipoprotein (sdLDL) merupakan prediktor penting terhadap kejadian Penyakit Jantung Koroner (PJK). Niasin telah lama digunakan untuk pengobatan dislipidemia, tetapi hubungan niasin dengan kadar sdLDL belum banyak diketahui. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui hubungan asupan niasin dengan kadar sdLDL pada pasien PJK..Metode : Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analitik observasional terhadap 30 pasien PJK di RSUP dr. Kariadi Semarang berusia antara 40-60 tahun yang didiagnosis PJK berdasarkan hasil angiografi koroner perkutan. Pengumpulan data asupan makanan dilakukan dengan menggunakan Semi Quantitative Food Frequency Quetionnaire (SQFFQ). Pengambilan darah dan uji laboratorium dilakukan oleh Laboratorium Prodia Semarang untuk mengetahui kadar sdLDL. Hubungan antara asupan niasin dan kadar sdLDL akan dianalisis menggunakan uji korelasi pearson. Uji korelasi pearson juga dilakukan untuk melihat hubungan variabel confounding dengan kadar sdLDL. Selanjutnya dilakukan uji regresi linear bertingkat untuk mengetahui variabel yang paling berhubungan dengan kadar sdLDL.Hasil : Terdapat hubungan positif antara asupan niasin dengan kadar sdLDL (p=0,005, r=0,498). Hal ini disebabkan oleh pengaruh dari variabel asupan energi (p=0,013; r=0,450) dan kadar total kolesterol (p=0,000; r=0,747).Kesimpulan : Variabel asupan energi dan kadar total kolesterol merupakan variabel yang paling berpengaruh terhadap kadar sdLDL dalam penelitian ini.Kata Kunci : niasin, small dense LDL, penyakit jantung koroner

Abstract

ABSTRAKLatar belakang: Obesitas merupakan faktor risiko mayor terjadinya diabetes melitus (DM), berhubungan dengan penumpukan jaringan lemak tubuh. Banyak metode untuk mengukur jaringan lemak diantaranya indeks massa tubuh (IMT), lingkar pinggang (LP) dan Bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA). Distribusi lemak tubuh lebih berperan dalam menentukan risiko terjadinya DM dibandingkan IMT.Tujuan: untuk mengetahui hubungan LP dengan komposisi lemak tubuh dan IMT pada penderita DM tipe 2.Metode: Penelitian cross sectional pada penderita DM tipe 2 yang berobat ke RSUD Tugu Semarang bulan September 2018-Maret 2019, n= 80 orang, dengan consecutive sampling. Uji normalitas data dengan Kolmogorov-Smirnov, jika data normal dilanjutkan uji korelasi Pearson dan jika data tidak normal dilanjutkan uji korelasi Spearman?s rho.  Hasil: LP memiliki hubungan signifikan, positif dan moderat dengan persentase total lemak tubuh (p <0,001, r = 0,451), hubungan signifikan, positif dan kuat dengan persentase lemak viseral (p <0,001, r= 0,693) dan lemak subkutan (p <0,001, r = 0,518). LP memiliki hubungan signifikan, positif dan sangat kuat dengan IMT (p <0,001, r = 0,801).Simpulan: LP memiliki hubungan positif kuat dengan lemak viseral, lemak subkutan dan IMT pada penderita DM tipe 2.Kata Kunci: lingkar pinggang, komposisi lemak tubuh, IMT, DM tipe 2

Abstract

Background: The therapeutic outcome strongly depends on the nutrition care. Nutrition department is responsible on in-patient?s nutrients fulfillment. A comprehensive nutrition care comprised of planning, providing the diet, food processing and serving must be conducted by this department. Previous study shows 50% in-patient did not complete the meal and 75% complained the meal served. This condition leads to nutrients inadequacy and hence the malnutrition in hospital. No similar study is being conducted in dr. Kariadi Hospital Semarang. Method: A cross sectional descriptive study were being conducted for 11 days. The responden size is 30 from several wards in Dr.Kariadi Hospital who received a normal meal. The datas collected was a primary data trough direct oservation and interview using a questionairre. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif yang dilakukan selama 11 hari dengan pendekatan Result: Food residues ? 75% for animal-based was 9%, plant-based 3% dand vegetables 18% according to the Comstock method. From one single menu cycle, most of all considered to be good in taste and look. But there were still a few serves, animal-based (7 serves), plant-based 94 serves), and vegetables (6 serves) cosidered to be bad in taste and look for  ? 50% respondent. Conclusion: Most food residue derives from vegetables and animal-based so it needs a better and more variation in its processing. Key word:Food residue, Comstock

Abstract

Background: small dense Low Density Lipoprotein (sdLDL) was the most atherogenic lipoprotein. Its influenced by internal and external factors including food consumption. Indonesian people mostly take a diet of high carbohydrate (CH) and fried food that believed to correlate with higher sdLDL level and predisposed to Coronary Heart Disease (CHD). There were 2 types of CH based on the processing ways, refined and non-refined CH.Objectives: The study’s purpose was to prove the correlation between different types of CH and fat intake with the sdlDL level in CHD patients.Methods: cross sectional in CHD patients hospitalized at Dr Kariadi hospital. The sdLDL and others lipid profile examined. The type and amount of CH and fat intakes per-day were collect from an interview using semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire (SQFFQ) and food models. Pearson and Spearman test used for bivariate analysis. Confounding factors age, gender, physical activity, diabetes mellitus and smoking were analyzed. Variables with p<0,25 was included in multivariate analysis using linear regression test.Results: There were 30 samples with CHD came with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Mean of total CH intake per day was 267.75 gram. Mean of percentage of CH from total calories per day was 55.93%. This number was higher than advised which is 30-130 gram or <45% of total calorie per day. Mean of refined and non-refined CH intake was 161.80 and 57.81 gr/day. The total CH mostly from refined CH (76%) rather than non-refined. Mean of fat intake was 68 gr/day (32.76% of total energy per day), and the mean of sdLDL level was 26,54 mg/dl. Correlation between refined CH vs non-refined CH with the sdLDL levels (r=0.328; p=0.077 vs r=-0.184;p=0.331). Correlation between fat intake and sdLDL levels (r=0.44;p=0.15). Multivariate analysis was analyzing refined CH fat intake and age with sdLDL level (r=0,28;p=0,13 vs r=0.45;p=0.01 vs r=-0.15;p=0.44). There is significant correlation between fat intake and sdLDL levels with r=0.45Conclusion: There was a significant correlation between fat intake and sdLDL levels in CHD patients. There is no significant correlation between refined and non-refined carbohydrates with sdLDL levels in CHD patients.

Abstract

Background : Vegetarians tend to have a risk of underfat. Several studies have reported that vegetarians have lower fat and higher fiber intake, lower body fat mass and blood pressure than nonvegetarians. There are only few studies about those variabels in 20-30 year-old subject. Objective : To analyze the difference of nutrients intake, body fat mass, and blood pressure between 20-30-year-old vegetarian and nonvegetarian women.Methods : Cross-sectional study design in 26 vegetarian women and 26 nonvegetarian women who was selected by consecutive sampling. Nutrients intake were obtained by Semi Quantitative Food Frequency Questionaire (SQFFQ) and analyzed by Nutrisurvey. Body fat mass was measured using Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA). Blood pressure was measured using Mercury sphygmomanometer. Data were analyzed using Independent t-test and Mann-Whitney test.Result : There were 38.5% of  vegetarians and 3.8% of nonvegetarians classified as underfat. There were 30.7% of vegetarians and 50% of  nonvegetarians classified as prehypertension. There were difference in fat (p=0.005), saturated fatty acid (p=0.000), monounsaturated fatty acids (p=0.002), polyunsaturated fatty acids (p=0.043), fiber (p=0.000), potassium (p=0.000), magnesium (p=0.004); body fat mass (p=0.021); and sistolic blood pressure (p=0.004) between both of groups. There weren’t difference energy intake (p=0.098), carbohydrate (p=0.207), protein (p=0.535), sodium (p=0.784), calcium (p=0.798), and diastolic blood pressure (p=0.799) between both of groups.Conclusion : Between vegetarian group and nonvegetarian group, there were difference in fat, saturated fatty acid, monounsaturated fatty acids, polyunsaturated fatty acids, fiber, potassium, magnesium intake; body fat mass; and sistolic blood pressure. However, there weren’t diffference in energy, carbohydrate, protein, sodium, calcium intake, and diastolic blood pressure between vegetarian group and nonvegetarian group

Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Sports or regular physical activities have roles in preventing coronary cardiac disease. Healthy cardiac exercise is one of an aerobic exercises which has complete composition, which are warming up, main exercise , and cooling down. Sports can give best result if it is done at least three times a week. Objective of this study was to determine blood lipid profile differences in healthy cardiac exercise which had been done three times a week and once a week. Covariate factors are sex, fat, carbohydrate, calcium, and fiber intake, other physical activities, BMI, life style, and sport obedience. Methods: This study was observational design. Samples in this study are members of healthy cardiac club in Mugas, Paraga Wonodri, and Kini Jaya, Semarang. Samples were selected with Consecutive Sampling technique and data was analyzed by t test. GLM (General Linear Multivariate ) was used to find out lipid profile difference between two groups with covariate factors. Data were Analyzed by data procesing software. Result: There is no significant difference between two groups in mean energy intake (ρ=0,74), protein (ρ=0,06), fat (ρ=0,43), calcium (ρ=0,39), fiber (ρ=0,09) and cholesterol (ρ=0,24). And there is no significant difference in total cholesterol level (ρ=0,54), HDL (ρ=0,05), LDL (ρ=0,32) and triglyceride (ρ=0,77) either after including covariate factors. Conclusion: There is no difference of blood lipid level between three times a week exercise group and once a week exercise group with considering some influenced factors. Olahraga atau aktifitas fisik yang teratur mempunyai peran dalam mencegah terjadinya penyakit jantung koroner. Senam jantung sehat merupakan salah satu senam aerobik yang mempunyai susunan lengkap, dalam artian format pemanasan, latihan, dan pendinginan dalam satu paket. Olahraga yang memberikan hasil terbaik adalah olahraga yang dilakukan paling sedikit 3 kali perminggu. Tujuan penelitian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan profil lipid darah pada latihan fisik terprogram yang dilakukan tiga kali seminggu dan satu kali seminggu pada peserta Klub Jantung Sehat dengan memperhitungkan beberapa faktor kovariat, yaitu jenis kelamin, asupan lemak dan energi, aktifitas fisik lain, BMI, gaya hidup, asupan kalsium, asupan serat, kepatuhan olahraga. Metode. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian observasional. Populasi terjangkau dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh anggota Klub Jantung Sehat yang berumur >40 tahun di Semarang. Sedangkan populasi targetnya adalah anggota Klub Jantung Sehat Mugas, Paraga Wonodri dan Perumahan Kini Jaya Semarang. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik Consecutive Sampling dan analisa data dilakukan dengan Uji beda t. Untuk mengetahui perbedaan profil lipid pada kedua kelompok dengan memasukkan berbagai variabel kovariat, digunakan analisis GLM (General Linear Multivariat) dengan program pengolah data. Hasil : Rerata asupan energi (ρ=0,74), protein (ρ=0,06), lemak (ρ=0,43), kalsium (ρ=0,39), serat (ρ=0,09) dan kolesterol (ρ=024) pada kedua kelompok tidak terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna. Selain itu, tidak didapatkan pula perbedaan yang bermakna terhadap kadar kolesterol total (ρ=0,54), HDL (ρ=0,05), LDL (ρ=0,32) dan trigliserida (ρ=0,77) pada kedua kelompok peserta senam jantung sehat. Simpulan : Kadar profil lipid pada kelompok yang melakukan latihan senam jantung sehat 3x seminggu tidak berbeda jika dibandingkan dengan kelompok yang melakukan latihan senam jantung sehat Ix seminggu dengan memperhatikan beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi. Abstract

Early initiation of breastfeeding (EIB) and exclusive breastfeeding (EB) up to six months are two important breastfeeding practices for child’s survival. EIB plays an important role in reducing infant mortality and improve the success of exclusive breastfeeding. This study aimed to investigate determinant factors in EIB. The subjects were mothers who gave birth in 2 health centers in the Semarang city. This study used a qualitative approach. Data were collected through intensive observations, non-intervention and in-depth interviews. Data analyzed by content analysis include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. All the mothers (12 subjects) successful in the EIB with the help of professional midwife (reinforcing factors). The influence of enabling factors (health policy ) and reinforcing factors (midwife)  ensure practice of EIB.
