Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of PBL model by using the demonstration method on the problem-solving skills to elementary school students. The study applied quasy experimental research method with pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study was the fourth grade students of Diponegoro cluster in Kudus, Central Java in the academic year 2017/2018. The samples taken for this study were the fourth grade students of SD 1 Kajeksan and SD 2 Demaan with the total number of 30 students for each school. The sampling technique used in this study was Nonprobability Sampling technique. The data collection technique applied in this study was test in the form of essay, as well as non-test technique which consists of observation and documentation. The data were analyzed by using gain score and t-test. The results showed that there is significant influence of PBL model by using demonstration method to student problem solving ability, this is supported by N-Gain result = 0.59 that is categorized as medium category. Then, pretest-posttest results of problem-solving ability by using PBL model with the demonstration method were tvalue = 7.667. Furthermore, there was a difference betwen students' ability in solving the problems by using PBL model within and without demonstration method (tvalue (3,801) > ttable (1,672)). This is supported by the result of observation to the student engagement which was 81.11%. It indicates that the PBL model by using demonstration method affects the problem solving abilities.

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research is to determine the effect of the problem-based learning model in improving student engagement on mathematics subjects. This type of research is an quasi-experimental with the pretest-posttest control group design approach. The independent variables of this research are Problem-Based Learning and student engagement models in mathematics as the dependent variable. Participants in this research were 60 elementary school students who were divided into 2 groups, first were 30 elementary school students K1 as the experimental group who received learning with problem-based learning model and 30 elementary school students K2 as the control group that received the conventional learning model. Data collection techniques in this research using non-test techniques consisting of observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The data were analyzed by independent samples test. The results showed there was a significant influence of learning using problem-based learning model could improve student engagement in mathematics.Keywords: Problem Based Learning; Student Engagement.

Abstract

Kemandirian adalah keadaan dimanaindividu mampu mengerjakan segala sesuatu mandiritidak meminta bantuan atau pertolongan orang lain.Kemandirian perlu ditanamkan sejak dini, karenakemandirian sangat berdampak untuk masa depanketika anak sudah dewasa. Penelitian ini bertujuanuntuk mendiskripsikan bentuk kemandirian anak diDesa Gulangpongge. Metode penelitian yangdigunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi kasus.Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi,wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian inimenunjukkan bahwa kemandiriana anak di desaGulangpongge dapat dilihat dari aktivitas seharihari yang dilakukan oleh anak-anak. Hasil penelitianmeunjukkan bahwa kemandirian anak sudah terlihatyakni dari beberapa anak sudah mampu meunjukkansikap mandirinya seperti halnya anak sudah memilikikepercayaan diri yang baik ketika bertemu denganorang ain, selain itu beberapa anak yang lainnyajuga sudah memiliki kemandirian dalam beberapaaspek seperti dalam mengendalikan emosi, disiplin,bertanggung jawab serta berinteraksi dengan oranglain meskipun ada beberapa anak yang belummenunjukkan sikap kemandirian terseut. Dari hasilpenelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa anak-anak diDesa Gulangpongge sudah memiliki kemandirianyang baik meskipun ada 3 anak yang kurang mandiridari beberapa poin kemandirian.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana minat belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran matematika kelas VI di SDN Karanganyar Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di kelas VI SDN Karanganyar, dengan subjek guru kelas VI dan 3 siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif tipe studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik pengecekan keabsahan data penelitian menggunakan Uji Kredibilitas, Transferabilitas, Dependabilitas, Uji Konfirmabilitas. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisis data dari Miles dan Huberman yakni reduksi data, pengumpulan data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah minat belajar subjek DW, MS, dan AA masih rendah ditandai dengan Perilaku subjek saat proses pembelajaran matematika siswa kurang antusias, merasa bosan dan kurang senang ketika belajar mata pelajaran matematika. Siswa masih sering asyik sendiri, bercanda dan berbicara dengan temannya saat guru menjelaskan materi. Siswa kurang aktif selama kegiatan belajar. Siswa enggan untuk bertanya siswa kurang antusias untuk menjawab pertanyaan yang diberikan oleh gurunya.

Abstract

Background: Permainan edukatif dapat digunakan sebagai penunjang jalannya proses pembelajaran yang menyenangkan dan berdampak bagi siswa. Pendampingan pembuatan game atau aplikasi MAT JOYO dapat memberikan ilmu baru bagi guru dalam mengembangkan dunia pendidikan, dan tentunya hasil akhirnya siswa dapat belajar dengan menyenangkan. Metode: Metode realisasi pemecahan masalah yang dilakukan adalah dengan melakukan pelatihan dan pendampingan pembuatan game atau aplikasi MAT JOYO (Mathemarics Joyful Education) yang diikuti oleh guru SDN 1 Gemiring Kidul, dan siswa kelas 5 SD. Materi pendampingan dan pelatihan yang diberikan meliputi: 1) Pembuatan materi pemahaman konsep volume balok yang menarik, 2) Pengenalan aplikasi untuk membuat game MAT JOYO, 3) Pembuatan game MAT JOYO dengan memasukkan materi volume balok yang telah dibuat, 4) Pengujian game MAT JOYO kepada siswa kelas 5. Hasil: Pelatihan ini berhasil meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam mengajar menggunakan permainan edukasi, sehingga dapat menarik minat belajar siswa serta tercipta pembelajaran yang menyenangkan. Kesimpulan: Kegiatan pendampingan ini berhasil meningkatkan kompetensi dan keahlian guru dalam pembuatan game edukasi (aplikasi MAT JOYO) sebagai media dalam pembelajaran pemahaman konsep matematis siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and describe the characteristics of children's drawings with the theme of the surrounding environment based on the periodization of children's drawings at SDN 1 Kemujan. The researcher uses a narrative qualitative research type with an approach to the meaning of children's pictures (semiotics). Sources of data in this study are students who will provide information directly by conducting interviews. This research was conducted on fourth grade students of SDN 1 Kemujan. Data collection techniques include interview, observation, and documentation techniques. The data validity test in qualitative research includes credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability tests. While the data analysis technique in this study is data reduction. The results showed that the work of fourth grade students of SDN 1 Kemujan mostly showed the early stages of realism development with the number of works showing the early stages of realism as much as 4 out of or 87.1% of the total number of works. The results of student work that show the early stages of realism are marked by the tendency of students to make pictures with realistic characteristics, indicating that in their work students adapt and blend with the environment causing students to think realistically.

Abstract

Think deeply and be able to express opinions from his thoughts with a group learning model that requires students to be active and cooperate with their group mates to develop their abilities. Application of Make a Match learning model in improving students ' critical thinking skills and teaching skills of teachers on fractional material. This class action research was conducted in Class V of SD Negeri Boloagung 02 with a subject of 28 students and teachers which lasted for 2 cycles. Each cycle consists of two meetings. The dependent variable is the critical thinking ability of students, while the independent variable is the Make a Match learning model. Data collection techniques used are interviews, observations, tests, and documentation. The results obtained that students critical thinking skills after the implementation of Make a Match model, in the first cycle obtained a value of 72.0 with a percentage of 72% and students completed as much as 68%. Improvement of critical thinking skills in the second cycle obtained a value of 83.04 with a percentage of 83% and the percentage of students obtained mastery of 89%. The application of Make a Match model on fraction material can improve students 'critical thinking skills and teachers' teaching skills. Therefore, in learning, teachers are advised to use the Make a Match model to the maximum so that students are more excited, enthusiastic, and play an active role in the learning process.

Abstract

AbstractCurrently, many learners, while learning, tend to learn by memorizing, for example memorizing mathematics formulas. This matter made the fourth graders of Public Primary School 1 Jepang had mathematical misconceptions. Thus, they had a low mathematic conceptual understanding. This research determined the influence of the GIBRAN GIAT education game on the mathematic conceptual understanding of fourth graders at Primary School 1 Jepang. This quasi-experimental research applied one group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of all fourth graders at Primary School 1 Jepang, 20 students, 9 males, and 11 females. The researchers collected the data by observing, documenting, and testing. The researchers also applied expert judgment and requirement tests with the normality test of Kolmogorov-Smirnov assisted by SPSS Version 23. The researchers examined the hypotheses with a paired-sample t-test assisted by SPSS version 23. The results showed the differences in learners' mathematics conceptual understanding. The obtained paired-sample t-test results were sig < 0.05 or 0.000 lower than 0.05. Thus, the researchers concluded the implementation of the GIBRAN GIAT education game influenced the fourth graders' mathematics conceptual understanding at Primary School 1 Jepang, Mejobo District, Kudus Regency.Keywords: Educational Game, GIBRAN GIAT

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas III dengan media PACAPI. PACAPI singkatan dari (Papan Pecahan Pizza) media PACAPI merupakan alat bantu siswa yang dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran penjumlahan dan pengurangan pecahan sehingga melibatkan siswa secara langsung. Pecahan adalah bilangan yang memiliki pembilang dan penyebut. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian tindakan kelas yang telah dilaksanakan di kelas III SD Negeri 5 Cendono Dawe Kudus. Subjeknya terdiri dari 15 siswa, diantaranya 9 siswa laki-laki dan 6 siswa perempuan. Penelitian berlangsung selama 2 siklus setiap siklus terdiri dari 2 pertemuan dan memiliki 4 yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik wawancara, observasi, tes, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian tindakan kelas menunjukkan bahwa melalui berbantuan media PACAPI dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas III SD 5 Cendono. Hal ini terlihat dari jumlah siswa tuntas 10 pada siklus 1 dengan presentase 67% dengan kreteria baik dan jumlah siswa tuntas 12 pada siklus 2 dengan presentase 80% dengan kreteria sangat baik. Media PACAPI ini dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dengan terpenuhinya indikator keberhasilan.
