Abstract

The main objective is to determine the students' conceptual understanding ability in terms of cognitive style. The type of research used is a qualitative research conducted at UPT SPF SMPN 49 Makassar. Research subjects as many as 4 people who were selected each 2 FD and 2 FI. The data collection technique used GEFT test, concept understanding ability test and interview. The instruments used were first validated by two experts. The data collected were analyzed by descriptive and qualitative analysis through the stages that include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Test the validity of the data using triangulation techniques. The results of this study conclude that there are differences in the ability to understand concepts of students with FI and FD cognitive styles with the description: (1) the ability to understand concepts of students with field dependent cognitive style (FD) fulfills the three indicators of giving examples and not examples of a concept, presenting concepts in various ways. form of mathematical representation, and apply concepts into problem solving, (2) The ability to understand concepts of students with field independent cognitive style (FI) fulfills the four indicators restating a concept, giving examples and not examples of a concept, presenting concepts in various forms of mathematical representation, and apply concepts to problem solving.

Abstract

Adversity Quotient (AQ) merupakan kecerdasan dalam mengatasi  kesulitan dengan  menentukan berbagai strategi dan menjadi penentu dalam kepampuan menyelesaian masalah. Rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika bagi siswa merupakan suatu persoalan pokok yang perlu ditinjau lebih lanjut berdasarkan Adversity Quotient (AQ). Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa ditinjau dari adversity quotient dengan kategori climbers, campers, dan quitters. Penelitian merupakan deskriptif kualitatif yang dilaksanakan pada siswa kelas VIII SMPN 3 Sungguminasa Kabupaten Gowa dengan subjek sebanyak 3 orang yang mewakili masing-masing kategori adversity quotient. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket, tes, dan wawancara. Data yang terkumpul selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman dengan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan/verifikasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan antara tiga kategori adversity quotient dalam kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika, dimana; siswa kategori climbers memiliki kemampuan yang sangat baik dalam menyelesaikan masalah dengan memenuhi keempat indikator yaitu memahami, merencanakan, melaksanakan pemecahan masalah, dan melakukan evaluasi kembali. Selanjutnya, siswa kategori campers ditemukan memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang cukup dengan mampu memenuhi tiga indikator yaitu memahami, merencanakan, dan melaksanakan pemecahan masalah. Sedangkan siswa kategori quitters ditemukan memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang rendah, dimana hanya mampu memenuhi satu indikator penyelesaian masalah yaitu memahami masalah. Adversity Quotient (AQ) is intelligence in overcoming difficulties by determining various strategies and becoming the determinant in solving the problems. The poor mathematical problem-solving ability of students is a major problem that needs to be reviewed further based on the Adversity Quotient (AQ). The main purpose of this research is to analyze and describe students' mathematical problem solving abilities in terms of the adversity quotient in the categories of climbers, campers, and quitters. This research is a qualitative descriptive that was conducted on eighth grade students of SMPN 3 Sungguminasa, Gowa Regency with 3 subjects representing each adversity quotient category. Data collection techniques using questionnaires, tests, and interviews. The data collected was then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model with the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions/verification. The results of this research indicate that there are differences between three adversity quotient categories in mathematical problem solving abilities, where; Climbers category students have very good ability in solving problems by fulfilling the four indicators, namely understanding, planning, implementing problem solving, and re-evaluating. Furthermore, the campers category students were found to have sufficient problem-solving ability by being able to meet three indicators, namely understanding, planning, and implementing problem solving. Meanwhile, students in the quitters category were found to have low problem-solving abilities, which were only able to fulfill one problem-solving indicator, namely understanding the problem

Abstract

Affective skill is one of the factors that students must possess and are the key to successful learning; affective skills are also one of the skills needed in the world of work in the future. This research aimed to analyze the influence of affective skills and their influence on learning outcomes and the dominant influencing variables. This quantitative survey was conducted in January-March 2021, involving 155 students (61 males and 94 females). The variables consisted of exogenous variables, namely affective skills (math interest, math anxiety, math self-efficacy, beliefs, and math attitude), while endogenous variables are learning outcomes. The instrument used to measure exogenous variables were questionnaires including math interest, math anxiety, math self-efficacy, beliefs, and math attitude that met the validity and reliability tests. While the endogenous variable, namely understanding results obtained from the value of documentation of student learning outcomes at school. The data was processed by descriptive and inferential analysis through structural equation modeling (SEM). The study results concluded that math self-efficacy and math attitude were in the high category, beliefs and math interests were suitable. Math anxiety was of a low sort. Furthermore, math interest, math self-efficacy, beliefs, and math attitude were found to have no significant effect on learning outcomes, which means that math interest, self-efficacy, ideas, and math attitude were not sufficient to provide evidence that they could significantly influence learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe students' creativity in solving mathematical problems in terms of gender differences. The type of research used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The research subjects consisted of 6 people, namely 3 male students and 3 female students, each representing the high, medium, and low categories. The instrument used in the form of a student creativity test, totaling 3 questions that have met the validity test and to further explore information about students' creative abilities, interviews were conducted. The data analysis techniques used are data collection through creativity ability tests and interviews, data reduction, data presentation, data verification and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the description of the creativity ability of male subjects in solving mathematical problems based on categories were (1) subjects with high categories were able to meet 2 indicators of creativity including fluency and flexibility, (2) subjects with medium categories were able to meet 1 indicator of creativity, namely fluency, (3) subjects with low categories are able to meet 1 indicator of creativity, namely fluency. The description of the creative ability of female subjects in solving mathematical problems based on categories is (1) subjects with high categories are able to meet creativity indicators which include fluency, flexibility and novelty, (2) subjects with moderate categories are able to meet creativity indicators which include fluency and flexibility, (3 ) subject with low category is able to fulfill 1 indicator of creativity, namely fluency indicator.

Abstract

Literasi merupakan salah satu program yang tengah marak disosialisasikan oleh pemerintah sebagai upaya untuk menumbuhkan minat masyarakat tentang budaya membaca akhir-akhir ini. Salah satu penyebabnya adalah beberapa hasil penelitian memperlihatkan betapa semakin menurunnya minat masyarakat terhadap kebiasaan membaca. Jangankan di wilayah perkotaan, di wilayah pedasaan bahkan lebih mengkhawatirkan selain karena kurangnya sarana/ruang untuk membaca, akan tetapi semangat untuk membaca juga sangat kurang. Kabupaten Takalar sebenarnya gerakan literasi sudah mulai menggeliat di beberapa wilayah di Kabupaten Takalar, misalkan di Kota Takalar dan sekitarnya, perpustakaan desa maupun perpusatakaan daerah mulai bertamba,. sedangkan Kecamatan Polongbangkeng Utara masih kurang terjamah. Salah satu kelurahan yang termasuk di dalamnya adalah Kelurahan Palleko. Berdasarkan hasil observasi, sebenarnya telah ada sosialisasi dari pegiat literasi di kelurahan ini berkaitan dengan program literasi desa, dan pada dasarnya antusias dari aparat kelurahan cukup besar terhadap program ini. akan tetapi perlu ada sumber daya yang membantu kelurahan ini untuk mewujudkan program literasi tersebut. Adanya program literasi pembuatan Sudut Baca Tubarani dari Tim pengabdian dosen Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar berkolaborasi dengan mahasiswa Kuliah Kerja Nyata Muhammadiyah Aisyiyah (KKN-MAs), diharapkan dapat menjadi penggerak awal terwujudnya program literasi di kelurahan ini. Para pemuda yang bergabung dalam kelompok karang taruna di ajak berkolaborasi dan diberdayakan untuk membantu mahasiswa KKN-Mas mewujudkan program yang berbasis literasi. Olehnya itu program mahasiswa KKN-Mas kali ini bertujuan selain membantu pemerintah Kelurahan Palleko mewujudkan program literasi melalui pemberdayaan pemuda karang taruna, tetapi juga bertujuan untuk mengembalikan kesadaran membaca pada masyarakat yang semakin lama semakin menurun.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh  kemampuan verbal dan kemampuan numerik terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa, baik secara parsial maupun secara simultan. Penelitian ini merupakan ex post facto. dengan populasi sebanyak 144 orang siswa kelas VII SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Makassar dan sampel sebanyak 57 orang siswa yang diambil melalui teknik proportional stratified random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrument tes kemampuan verbal dan tes kemampuan numerik yang selanjutnya dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial dengan menggunakan analisis regresi linear berganda. Hasil analisis statistik deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan verbal siswa berada dalam kategori sedang, kemampuan numerik siswa berada dalam kategori sedang, dan prestasi belajar siswa berada dalam kategori tinggi. Hasil analisis statistik inferensial menunjukkan bahwa: (1) kemampuan verbal dan kemampuan numerik berpengaruh positif secara bersama-sama terhadap prestasi belajar matematika (Y) siswa kelas VII SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Makassar. Dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,016 < 0,05, atau Fhitung > Ftabel (4,468 > 3,16), koefisien determinasi sebesar 14,2%, (2) tidak terdapat pengaruh kemampuan verbal terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa, dengan nilai signifikan sebesar 0,84 > 0,05, atau thitung < ttabel (0,19 < 2,00), dan (3) kemampuan numerik berpengaruh positif terhadap prestasi belajar matematika siswa, dengan nilai signifikan sebesar 0,004 < 0,05, atau thitung > ttabel (2,98 > 2,00).Kata Kunci: Kemampuan Verbal, Kemampuan Numerik, Prestasi Belajar Matematika.

Abstract

This research is to develop a subjective test instrument based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) on number pattern. The research method used in this research is research and development (RD). This study uses the ADDIE model which consists of five stages: including analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation (Sugiyono, 2017). The results of the CVR test of 3 items showed that all questions met the appropriate criteria but were recommended for improvement. A total of 3 questions include material, construction, and language aspects. Then a limited field trial was conducted on 20 class VIII students of SMPN 2 Lembang. 3 valid questions used for wide field trials on 30 class VIII students of SMPN 2 Lembang. In the limited field test the reliability of the test is 0.615, while the broad field test reaches 0.642. Based on the discriminatory power, in the limited field test and the wide field test, the discriminatory power of the questions in both situations is quite good. Based on the level of difficulty in the limited field test questions, 3 moderate questions were found, while in the wide field test, 1 easy question and 2 medium questions.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa melalui implementasi model PjBL.  Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas model Kemmis & McTaggart dengan tahapan: perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi yang dilaksnakan sebanyak 2 siklus. Prosedur penelitian dengan tahapan: persiapan, pelaksanaan, analisis data menggunakan analisis data deskriptif kualitatif, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada kelas XI di salah satu satu sekolah di Kota Makassar. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa: 1) Penerapan model pembelajaran project based learning (PjBL) dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dilihat dari peningkatan hasil belajar matematika siswa mengalami peningkatan dari rata-rata 81,50 pada siklus I meningkat menjadi 88,25 pada siklus II, nilai median meningkat dari 82 menjadi 84, standar eror menurun dari 1,12 menjadi 0,84, nilai terendah 70 meningkat menjadi 78, nilai tertinggi dari 92 menjadi 95, dan rentang skor menurun dari 22 menjadi 17; 2) Distribusi frekuensi dan persentase tingkat capain skor hasil belajar dari siklus I ke siklus II diperoleh bahwa terjadi peningkatan kategori hasil belajar siswa pada kategori tinggi meningkat dari 61,11% menjadi 63,88% dan kategori sangat tinggi juga mengalami peningkatan dari 11,11% menjadi 30,56%; dan 3) Hasil pengamatan proses pelaksaan penelitian diuraikan peningkatan aktifitas siswa dari siklus I ke siklus II bahwa dalam hal kehadiran siswa meningkat dari 83,33% menjadi 97,22%, siswa yang memperhatikan penjelasan guru meningkat dari 76,85% menjadi 92,59%, siswa yang berpartisipasi dalam proyek meningkat dari 75% menjadi 97,22%, siswa yang mempersentasikan hasil pekerjaan proyeknya meningkat dari 25,93% menjadi 43,52%, dan siswa yang bertanya/memberi tanggapan sebesar 21,30% pada siklus I meningkat menjadi 29,63% pada siklus II.

Abstract

As an effort to develop science and technology and increase the nation's competitiveness, performance in the form of scientific publications is mandatory for students. Therefore, training is carried out on using Mendeley for citations in writing scientific papers with the aim of increasing students' understanding and skills in making citations and compiling a bibliography in writing scientific papers. The results of the activity concluded that training on using Mendeley for citations in writing scientific papers for students can improve students' understanding and skills in making citations and compiling a bibliography in writing scientific papers.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the mathematics connection ability of VIII Grade students in solving algebraic questions in one of the public junior high schools in Makassar City. This research was qualitative. The research subjects consisted of three students selected based on the results of the basic ability test. Data collection techniques used basic ability tests, mathematics connection skills tests, and interviews. Data analysis techniques were data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results showed that: (1) the mathematics connection ability of subjects with high basic abilities met three indicators of mathematical connection ability, namely connecting mathematical concepts, connecting mathematical concepts with other fields of science, and connecting mathematical concepts with everyday life (2) The subject's mathematics connection ability moderate basic ability met two indicators of mathematics connection ability, namely connecting between mathematical concepts and connecting mathematics concepts with everyday life (3) mathematics connection ability of subjects with the low basic ability only meets one indicator of mathematical connection ability, namely connecting between mathematical concepts.
