Abstract

The background of this study relates to an exploration of the role of technology in the classroom learning process, especially in terms of shifting the role of the teacher as the main instructor. The rapid and ever-changing development of technology has had a huge impact on education systems around the world, such as ChatGPT. This study will conduct an in-depth analysis of ChatGPT's ability to replace the role of teachers in the classroom learning process. This research is qualitative in nature. The methodology used to collect data includes attentive listening and careful documentation of relevant information, which is then subjected to analytical procedures such as data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The study arrived at the conclusion that in the context of using ChatGPT in learning, it should be noted that technology can only be a tool and cannot replace the role of the teacher entirely. Therefore, it is necessary to integrate technology in learning in an appropriate and effective way and develop competence for teachers in managing learning with technology.

Abstract

This article describes a map of potential conflicts and the mechanisms used to resolve conflicts in the best tourist villages in Indonesia, namely Panglipuran Bali, Nglanggeran Yogyakarta and Cisaat, West Java. The three villages were chosen by the researchers because they had different conflict characteristics and resolution mechanisms, so the coping strategies were also used in different ways. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method as a strategy of inquiry. The research subjects and locus were carried out among stakeholders, village tourism actors, local communities and tourists in the three villages which were the locus of this research. Data collection was carried out using in-depth interviews supported by extensive observation and document studies. The results of this study show that conflicts over the management of tourism objects in Panglipuran Bali can be overcome by using a customary institutional approach. Meanwhile, in Nglanggeran, Yogyakarta, the role of youth as actors is important in overcoming conflict. In Cisaat Village, efforts to resolve conflicts involve formal institutions such as the village administration.

Abstract

Jakarta is one of the Muslim-friendly tourist destinations in Indonesia. The DKI Jakarta government has various limitations in managing existing facilities, so community participation is needed. It encourages people to utilize application-based new media to answer the challenges and problems faced by Jakarta. A platform is required in the form of a digital application that can load destinations ranging from places, lodging, food, and facilities owned by tourist attractions labeled halal tourism to make it easier to find halal tourist destinations in Jakarta as an optimization of intelligent cities and contribute to SDGs. Halal tourism applications make it easier for people to get information related to Halal Tourism in Jakarta with the most popular development methods, namely collaborative filtering and location-based filtering methods. This method uses knowledge gathered from monitoring the behavior and personal choices of system users, who are generally known as personal profile users. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) by designing an Android-based system. Data collection is an interview with sources with the DKI Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Office accompanied by expert information. The result of this research is the design of the Jakarta City Halal Tourism Application (SI PAHAJI) aimed at local and foreign tourists. The application contains information about tourist attractions, accommodations, and other facilities that are friendly to halal visitors in DKI Jakarta to help recommend tourist destinations in DKI Jakarta that follow user preferences and locations.

Abstract

Evaluating the learning outcomes of a certain course implementation can improve the quality of education. This study is focused on Indonesian EFL undergraduates’ perceptions of the relationships between teacher performance, technological resources, online project-based learning (OPJBL), and ESP learning outcomes. Participants of the study have attended English for specific purposes (ESP) online courses during school closures due to Covid-19. A survey was addressed to 350 undergraduates after a one-semester implementation of the OPJBL. The students were requested to rate their perceptions on validated items using a 7-point Likert-type scale for the data collection. The data were modelled and computed through partial least square structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). The main findings of the study revealed that teacher performance and technological resources were significant in predicting OPJBL. Similarly, OPJBL was found to play a significant role in affecting ESP learning outcomes. Teacher performance and technological resources were also correlated to ESP learning outcomes. Significant differences were found among students’ locations for all variables. The findings highlight the benefits of the SEM approach for establishing the proposed framework and assessing the links between variables concerning the OPJBL and learning outcomes.
