Abstract This research aims to (1) describe and discover how the shape of the show At Pasisia party Rabab marriage in Pekonina Pauh Duo District in South Solok Regency, (2) This type of qualitative research methods a descriptive analysis. Main is the author's own Istrument, using the tools in the field such as writing instruments, cameras for recording and taking pictures. Data collection techniques through observation, interview and study library. Rabab pasisia performances in the form of the marriage festivities is shaped of joke performing arts night, serving a wide range of dendang-dendang pantun-pantun-shaped. The audience is the general public, show the relatives invited home masters and come see the show. Rabab pasisia Arts for local community serves as a means of entertainment and unifying community. Abstract This article aims to describe how the extratracular activities conducted in SMP Negeri 2 Pariaman. Extracurricular is an additional activity for students who are held outside the appointed hours of instruction. The type of research used is qualitative research using descriptive method. The object of this research is the process of extracurricular activities of gandang tambua in SMP Negeri 2 Pariaman. The main instrument is the researcher. This study uses several tools in the field data collection such as stationery and photo cameras. For data collection the authors do literature study, observation and interviews. The results showed that the implementation of extracurricular gandang tambua in SMP Negeri 2 Pariaman done by forming a group of each group consisting of 5orang students, where the training process carried out practically in the room and outside the classroom . To explore the ability that the students themselves in playing the gandang tambua musical instrument, the teacher schedules 7 meetings. From 7 times of meetings, teachers more often use demonstration methods in delivering the material. Keywords: Implementation, Extracurricular, Gandang Tambua

This study aims to find out the ability of students at class VIII.1 in Padang city in playing Talempong Pacik with the song Cak Din Din. This research belongs to a descriptive qualitative research. The main instrument on this study was the researcher itself and was supported by supporting instruments such as writing tools and cameras. The data were collected through interview, literature study, and documentation. The data analysis was conducted by classifying the data, describing the data, and making conclusions. The results show that the students’ ability in playing Talempong Pacik with the song Cak Din Din is quite good after the learning process was evaluated. The assessment was obtained from the value of daily test results with assessment indicators including tempo and rhythmic accuracy as well as the students’ sense of musicality. The learning process was carried out in four meetings. In the fourth meeting, the learning evaluation was conducted. The learning activities were divided into three stages: preparation, process or training, and evaluation. The introduction of the song Cak Din Din was done by showing the song’s score and giving demonstrations by the teachers.

The purpose of this study Aguang Jana art is to discover and describe the musical art form of presentation Aguang Jana ox racing event in the River District Jorong Guguak Baruah Tarab Tanah Datar. Shaped research used qualitative descriptive method, the object of research is: Music Performance Aguang Jana In no event Pacu Jawi in Jorong Guguak Baruah Tarab River District Tanah Datar, data collection is done by event observation, interviews, and photo shoot perekamam. Data processing is performed a qualitative analysis. Aguang Jana is a kind of percussion instruments, arts Aguang Jana is a unique art and highly respected community supporters. Plus Aguang Jana has become an essential part in the event at Nagari. This study aims to identify and explain the Music Performance Aguang Jana In no event Pacu Jawi in Jorong Guguak Baruah which includes players / actors, used musical instruments, songs presented in Aguang Jana, time and venue, costume, art Aguang Jana in procession Jawi runway parade and community supporters. Abstract This article aimed to describe the singing ability of students in traditional songs of the archipelago both individually and in groups VIII-1 SMP N 4 Padang. The type of research was qualitative with descriptive method of analysis. Instrument in this research were the researcher and assisted with observation note book, camera, art and culture module and observation sheet. Techniques of data collection in this research were literature study, observation, interview and documentation. The results showed that: 1) the teacher planned the lesson for the implementation of vocal learning, 2) the students’ abilities about vocal techniques such as body attitude, breathing technique, intonation, articulation, phrasering and expression were still low, 3) inequality of students’ ability both individually and in groupwas the benchmark students ability. Abstract This article aims to describe the learning process of singing in the subjects of art and culture, especially in the teaching material of national anthem in Junior High School No 1 Bayang. This research was qualitative research through a descriptive approach. The implementation of learning singing in that school can be described as follows: in the first meeting, the teacher explained the material about singing. In the second meeting, the teacher explained how to sing with the correct vocal techniques, and explained how to use the techniques of breathing in singing. In the third meeting, the students sang the song my Tanah Airku. The result of research in learning singing at junior high school no 1 Bayang, South Pesisir Regency was : (1) In implementing of learning singing, the teacher used lecturing method. This was irrelevant to the learning topic, (2) Teachers have not had the planning which is standardized, (3) the implementation of strategies has not optimal yet, (4) The approach of learning that teachers done was less relevant, (5) Learning methods have not been effective. The impact of the above five indicators of students ' ability in singing has not been adequate. Keywords: Learning, Singing

This article aims to describe the performance form of Talempong Unggan at the circumcision event in Sumpur Kudus District, Sijunjung Regency. This type of research was qualitative which used descriptive method. The main instrument in this study was the researcher and assisted with supporting instruments such as stationery and cameras. Data collection techniques were carried out by doing observation, literature study and interviews. Steps of data analysis were taken to collect data, analyze data, describe data and make conclusions. The result shows that the performance of Talempong Unggan in the circumcision event contains two forms, namely the first in the form of procession on the road and the second in the form of sitting with cross-legged in front of the house / on the porch of the house. In the procession of Talempong Pacik in circumcision event, Unggan functions as accompaniment music from Bako family to accompnay children to be circumcised. The performance of Talempong Unggan which is played in front of the house in circumcision functions as entertainment music and waits for children who will be circumcised.

This study aims to describe efforts to improve the learning of playing melodica for students at SMP Negeri 12 in South Solok Regency. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The object of this research was the Efforts to Improve melodica Learning, at SMP Negeri 12 South Solok Regency, which is contained in the implementation of melodica playing instruction. The data sourced from observations and interviews. The interviews used to collect the data were planned interviews and unplanned interviews. After the data were collected through data collection techniques, the next step done was classifying the data based on their importance. Based on the results of research conducted at SMP Negeri 12 in South Solok Regency, in the subject of Music Arts, there is one of the subjects related to playing Nusantara ethnic songs using a melodica. Melodica is a musical instrument which has an important role in learning music in Junior High Schools. Melodica is not only found in learning but in extracurricular activities such as marching band, and melodica also plays an important role in playing song melodies.

Abstract This research describes the endowment process of “Tale Haji” in the society of Desa Koto MajidinKecamatan Air Hangat Kabupaten Kerinci. The design of this research was the qualitative research by using the descriptive approach. The data were collected from literature reviews, observation, interview, and documentations. The data collected were then classified and analyzed by separating the primary data from the secondary. The findings of this research showed that the endowment process of “Tale Haji” was done in two forms of educations; the informal and the non formal. In the informal, the endowment process was done through families and the environment. Meanwhile, the non formal was done through an institution called as “Pusat Kegiatan Belajar Masyarakat” (PKBM) Koto Majidin. Kata Kunci: Tale Haji, Proses Pewarisan, Koto Majidin.

This research purpose to for describe the learning methods used in vocal training to students in the selection of songs child model for the development of musicality. This study used descriptive qualitative research methods. Religious studies is the SDN 31 Tj Aur Padang. The results showed that the selection of songs is the song Kampuang child model Nan Jauah dimato and rainbow-rainbow song can enhance the musicality of students because of the rhythm, melody and expression of the song that contains the meaning of positive and good for the psychological development of children and the methods used in cultural arts and skills learning is a method of lecture, discussion, and demonstration.Keyword: Song child model, qualitative, descriptive, rhythm, melody, expression
