Abstract

Abstract: This research is a pre-experimental research with the static groupcomparison study design, that aims to determine whether the application of problemsolvingstrategy in mathematics learning positively affect on mathematical problemsolving ability of students of class VIII SMP Al-Azhar Syifa Budi Pekanbaru school year2015/2016. This research involved experimental and control classes that consists of 24students and 20 students. The test score of students’s mathematical problem solvingability is the data that used to test hypothesis of the research. Based on the test score,obtained the average value of mathematical problem solving ability of students inexperimental class was 3,40 and the average value of mathematical problem solvingability of students in control class was 2,16. From the Mann-Withney test, obtained thesignificance is 0,001 (less than ߙ = 0,05), it is mean that ܪ଴ has rejected and ܪଵ hasaccepted. The average value of test mathematical problem solving ability of students inexperimental class is higher than the average value of test mathematical problemsolving ability of students in control class, it can be conclude that the application ofproblem-solving strategy in mathematics learning positively affects the mathematicalproblem solving ability of students of class VIII SMP Al-Azhar Syifa Budi Pekanbaruschool year 2015/2016.Keywords: Problem-Solving Strategy, Mathematical Problem Solving Ability, Pre-experimentalResearch2

Abstract

This research is a classroom actionresearch aims to improve and enhancethe learning outcomes math. Implementation of the research done in class IIIASDN 008 Salo Kecamatan Salo, were 22 students the first semester of 2012. Theresearch was conducted by two cycles, each cycle performed three learningsessions and one tests. Quantitative data obtained through testing for learningoutcomes and qualitativedata abaut the activities of teachers and students throughobservation sheet. Quantitative analysis of the result of the analysis showed thatthe average score of the class IIIA SDN 008 Salo Kecamatan Salo has increased.Quantitative an increase in motivation, interests, and activities of students andteachers in learning of operation of fraction number math with type cooperativelearning STAD. Based on the results of this study concluded that with theimplementation of cooperative learning model type STAD can improve studentlearning outcomes math class IIIA SDN 008 Salo Kecamatan Salo.Key word: learning outcomes, learning cooperative type STAD.

Abstract

Abstract: This research was classroom action research that aims to improve learning process and to increase learning result in mathematics with applied the learning strategy of reciprocal teaching. The subject of this research was student of class VII1 SMPN 25 Pekanbaru in academic years 2017/2018, which amounted to 34 students, consist of 9 boys and 25 girls. The research consist of two cycles, each cycle has four stages, which are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The instruments of data collection in this research were observation sheets and students mathematic tests. The observation sheets were analyzed in qualitative desciptive, while the students mathematic tests were analyzed in quantitative descriptive. The qualitative descriptive showed an improvement of learning process prior to the action on the first and second cycle. Most of students were very confidenced and actived in learning process, such as while they were finished mathemathic’s problems that given, presenting the result of problems and giving the conclusion of learning. The results of this study indicate the number of students who reached Minimum Mastery Criteria of knowledge increase from basic score to UH-I and UH-II. The results of this research showed an increasing number of students learning mathematics about knowledge of the basic score (47,06%) to the first UH-I (61,76%) to the UH-II (76,47%) thus it can be concluded that the application of reciprocal teaching strategy can improve learning process and increase mathematics achievement from the students at class VII1 SMPN 25 in academic years 2017/2018 for the social arithmetic.Key Words: Students’ Mathematic Achievement, Reciprocal Teaching, Class Action Research

Abstract

The subject of the research were students of class VIII3 SMP Negeri 4 Tapung in the second semester academic years 2014/2015. There are 24 students in the class, with the heterogenous level. The research are two cycles, each a cycle has four stages, that are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Instrument to collect the data are observation and mathematics achivement test. The observation data analyzed by using descriptive and qualitative, and for students’ test by using descriptive and quantitative. The qualitative analysis showed an improvement of learning process prior to action to the first cycle and second cycle. The results of this research showed an increase in students achievement from the based-score with the percentage 29,16% to 45,83% on the first test and 70,83% on the second test. Based on the finding can be concluded the implentation of applied the cooperative learning type of Course Review Horay (CRH) to improve students’ mathematics achievement at class VIII3 SMP Negeri 4 Tapung in the second semester academic years 2014/2015.Key words: Mathematics learning outcome, Cooperative learning, Course Review Horay, Class action research

Abstract

Abstract: This research based on the students’mathematics achievement at class VIII4 Junior High School Islam As-Shofa who haven’t reached passing grade on main topic about Phytagoras. One of the factors to improve students’mathematics achievement is improve learning process, so reacherch try to improve the process by applying Contextual Teaching and Learning on cooperative learning model of Two Stay Two Stray.The research is classroom action research. This aims research to increase learning process and students’ math achievement at class VIII4 Junior High School Islam As-Shofa through the implentation Contextual Teaching and Learning in cooperative learning Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS).The subject of the research are 24 students from class VIII4 Junior High School Islam As-Shofa with the heterogenous level. Instrument to collect the data are observation, attitude assessment sheet, skill assessment sheet and mathematics achivement test. The observation data analyzed by using descriptive and qualitative,and for students’test by using descriptiveand quantitative. The qualitative analysis showed an improvement of learning process prior to action to the first cycle and second cycle. The results of this research showed an increase in students achievement for attitude competence from the based-score with the percentage 41,67% to 58,30% on the first cycle and 87,50% on the second cycle. For knowledge competence showed an increase from the based-score with the percentage 29,17% to 37,50% on the first cycle and 70,83% on the second cycle. And for skills competence showed an increase from the based-score with the percentage 12,50% to 37,50% on the first cycle and 70,83% on the second cycle. Based on the finding can be concluded that the implentation of Contextual Teaching and Learning in cooperative learning Two Stay Two Stray could improve students’ mathematics achievement at class VIII4 Junior High School Islam As-Shofa in the second semester academic years2014/2015.Key Word : Students’ Mathematics Achievement, Contextual Teaching and Learning, Cooperative Learning Two Stay Two Stray, Classroom Action Research.

Abstract

Abstract:This reseacrh based on the students math ability class VIII6 of SMPN 25 Pekanbaru under Minimum Mastery Criteria  with a percentage of 32,50% and the learning process still teacher center. The research was classroom action research. This research aims to improve learning process and outcomes students by implementing cooperative learning model type of Think Pair Square. There are 40 students in the class, consisting 14 girls and 26 boys. The technic of data collection on this research are observation sheets and math achievement tests. The observation sheets are analyze in qualitative descriptive way, while the math achievement tests are analyze in quantitative descriptive way. The qualitative analysis showed an improvement of learning process prior to the action of the first cycle to the second cycle. Then the result of this research showed an increase in students from the base score with the percentage 32,50% to 42,50% on the first daily test and 65% on the second daily test. From the results of this study concluded that Cooperative Learning model type of Think Pair Square can improve the students’ learning achievement at class VIII6 of SMPN 25 Pekanbaru in the first semester academic years 2016/2017.

Abstract

Abstract: This research is a pre-experimental research with the static group comparison study design, that aims to determine whether the ability of Mathematical Problem Solving of students of SMP Negeri 15 Pekanbaru which aplly problem solving strategy in cooperative learning NHT better than students of SMP Negeri 15 Pekanbaru which aplly cooperative learning NHT. This research involved experimental and control classes that consists of 33 students and 28 students. The test score of student’s mathematical problem solving ability is the data that used to test hypothesis of the research. Based on the test score, obtained the average value of mathematical problem solving ability of students in experimental class was 81 and the average value of mathematical problem solving ability of students in control class was 43. And from the Independent Sample Test, obtained tarithmetic > ttable (9,45 > 2,002). It is mean that H0 has rejected and H1 has accepted. The average value of test mathematical problem solving ability of students in experimental class is higher than the average value of test mathematical problem solving ability of students in control class.. It can be conclude that the ability of Mathematical Problem Solving of students of SMP Negeri 15 Pekanbaru which aplly problem solving strategy in cooperative learning NHT better than students of SMP Negeri 15 Pekanbaru which aplly cooperative learning NHT school year 2016/2017.Keywords: Problem Solving Strategy, Mathematical Problem Solving Ability, Pre-experimental Research

Abstract

Abstract: This research based on the importance of problem solving student ability. Due that thing, teacher should teach the student how to solve the problem, in order to have problem solving ability. This is a pre-experimental research using the Static Group Comparison design, which aims to whether the implementation of a problem solving strategy in cooperative learning type STAD giving good effect to problem solving student ability. This research was implemented in seventh grade SMP Negeri 34 Pekanbaru on first semester academic year 2016/2017. Population in this research is student in seventh grade SMP Negeri 34 Pekanbaru. Sample in this research consist of 69 stundents. A sample determine by purposive sampling’s technique, there had been selected the VII3 into class experimental and VII4 into class control. Class experimental was applied problem solving strategy in cooperative learning type STAD and class control was applied cooperative learning type STAD. Data in this research consist of data from the beginning problem solving ability’s test before given treatment which used to choose sample and data from problem solving ability’s test which used to collecting score from problem solving ability’s test. Collecting the data was done by giving test and documentation. The result of this research shows that implementation of problem solving strategy in cooperative learning type STAD give good effect to problem solving student ability.Key Word : Problem Solving Strategy, Cooperative Learning Type STAD, Matemathical Problem Solving Ability

Abstract

Abstract: This research was using class action research. This research aims to fixed the process of learning and improve learning result in mathematics in grade XI MIA 5 of MAN 2 Model Pekanbaru by applying the Discovery Learning model. The subject of this research were the students in the class XI MIA 5 of MAN 2 Model Pekanbaru that consist of 10 boys and 16 girls at the second semester of academic year 2016/2017. During the learning process, there is a problem of learning that is still focused on the teacher so that students can not find the concept of learning. To solve this problem requires a learning model where students can actively discover their own learning concepts. The instruments of data collection in this research were observation sheets and students mathematics tests. The observation sheets were analyzed in desciptive narative, meanwhile the students’ mathematic tests were analyzed in statistic desciptive. Based on the analysis showed that an improvement of learning process prior to the action on the first and second cycles and improve the students’ in the second semester academic years 2016/2017. Based on the result of research, the implementation of discovery learning methods can fix the learning process and improving student’s achievement of learning mathematisc in grade XI MIA 5 of MAN 2 Model Pekanbaru.Keywords : Students’ Math Achievement, Discovery Learning Model, Clasroom Action Research.

Abstract

Abstract : This research is a class action research that aims to improve the learning process and to increase the mathematics learning results of the students by applying Problem Based Learning. The subject of this research is the students of class  SMPN 8 Pekanbaru at the second semester of  2017/2018 academic year which total number of participants are 38 students, consists of 19 male students and 19 female students with heterogeneous ability. This research has two cycles. Each cycle has 3 meetings and 1 quiz. The data collecting instruments was observation sheet (learning process) and the students' worksheet. The data were analized by narrative descriptive and statistical descriptive analysis. The data were obtained from the observation sheets of teacher and students activities, it showed  that the learning process has improved after the model being implemented. From the data of the student’s evaluation test, it showed that the number of students who reach the Minimal Standard of Achievement  increased from the basic score to the Quiz I, from Quiz I to Quiz II. Each score increase 18,4 % where 23,7% to 42, 1% and 42,1 % to 60,5%. In conclusion, the implementation of discovery learning model can improve the learning process and increase the mathematics learning result of the students of grade  SMPN 8 Pekanbaru at the second semester of  2017/2018 academic years  on probability materials.  Key Words: The Mathematics Learning Result, Problem Based Learning, Class Action Research
