Abstract

Abstract: This research is a class action research that aims to improve thelearning process and to improve the student’s mathematical problem solving ability byapplying Problem Based Learning (PBL). The subjects of this research are the studentof class X2 Senior High School 1 Tanah merah at first semester of academic years2015/2016, which amounts to 29 students. This research consists of two cycles, eachcycle consists of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection.Data collected through observation and student’s mathematical problem solving abilitytest. Data analysis is done by observation data analysis and student’s mathematicalproblem solving ability data analysis. The action is successful if the scores of teacher’sactivities and student’s activities increase in every meeting, improve the student’smathematical problem solving ability every cycle and improve the classical’smathematical problem solving ability. The result of observation show teacher andstudents activities are improve better than before in every meeting. Based on dataanalisys of student’s mathematical problem solving ability test show the average N-gainof student’s mathematical problem solving ability in first cycle has improve 0,26, itsmean the student’s mathematical problem solving ability in low classification and insecond cycle the average N-gain of student’s mathematical problem solving ability hasimprove 0,39, its mean the student’s mathematical problem solving ability in mediumclassification. The average score of classical’s mathematical problem solving abilityhas improve 31,46 in first cycle than beginning test and the average score of classical’smathematical problem solving ability has improve 6,15 in second cycle than first cycle.The result of this research showed that Problem Based Learning improve the learningprocess and increase the the student’s mathematical problem solving ability of class X2Senior High School 1 Tanah merah at first semester of academic years 2015/2016.Keywords: Student’s mathematical problem solving ability, Problem Based Learning

Abstract

Abstract: This research is background based on mathematics learning outcomes in class VIIIA students of SMP Negeri 18 Pekanbaru which is still under Minimum Criteria of mastery learning that has been settled by the school that is 73. This type of research is the classroom action research with 2 cycles. The subject in this research were 16 male students and 22 female students with heterogeneous ability. The aims of this research are to improve the learning process and improve student’s mathematics learning outcomes in class VIIIA of SMP Negeri 18 Pekanbaru in odd semester of the 2017/2018 academic year based on KD 1.3 Understanding relations and functions and on KD 1.4 Determining the value of the function. The instruments of data collection were observation sheets that used to observe teacher and students activities during the learning process and students mathematic tests. The observation sheets were analyzed in descriptive narative, while the students mathematic tests were analyzed in statistic descriptive. Based on the data analysis of teacher and student activity after applying the cooperative learning model of Think Pair Square Structural Approach, teacher and student activities have done well and had an improvement at each meeting. Based on the data analysis of student learning outcomes, there is an improve in student learning outcomes in each cycle. Based on the analysis of KKM achievement, there were 8 students who reached KKM at UH 1 with percentage 21% and 21 students at UH 2 with percentage of 55,26%. Based on the result of research show that, there is an improve of students who get very high criteria and the decrease of students who get enough and low criteria. From this research it can be concluded that the implementation model of Think Pair Square structural approach can improve the learning process and also to improve student’s of mathematics learning outcomes in class VIIIA of SMP Negeri 18 Pekanbaru.Key words: Mathematics learning outcome, Cooperative learning, Think Pair Square, Class action research.

Abstract

Abstract : This classroom action research is aimed at improve learning process and mathamatics learning outcomes by implementing Contextual Approach in Setting Cooperative Learning with Numbered Heads Together (NHT) Type. The research subjects are 36 heterogenous academic ability level students of the VIID class of Junior High School 40 Pekanbaru in academic year of 2015/2016. The research implemented in two cycles in which each cycle consisted of four phases, i.e; namely planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. By the end of a cycle, formative test was held. The data was collected by doing observation in teachers and students activities and formative test. The research shows if there is learning process improvement after the implementation Contextual Approach in Setting Cooperative Learning with Numbered Heads Together (NHT) Type. Most of the students participated actively and responsible in the learning process e.g. discussing, presenting student’s worksheet, responding to classmate’s presentation, and drawing the lesson conclusion. Additionally, the students afforded to answer the written test given by teacher well. Furthermore, the number of students passing passing Minimun Completeness Criteria (MCC) on base score, formative test I (first cycle), formative test II (second cycle) were respectively 33,3%, 44,4%, and 66,7%. The percentage of MCC achievement also indicates the increase after the implementation, thus it can be said that the students’ learning outcomes also increase. Finally, the research also shows that  Contextual Approach in Setting Cooperative Learning with Numbered Heads Together (NHT) Type can improve mathematics learning process and learning outcomes of VIID class of Junior High School 40 Pekanbaru.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to improve the learning process and improve learning outcomes of mathematics class of fifth SDN 50 Babussalam by implementing cooperative learning in the structural approach Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS). The subjects of the research were the fifth grade students SDN 50 Babussalam who have the heterogeneous academic ability. This research is a class act with two cycles. Each cycles has four stages. There are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The result of the observation show the teachers and students activities have done after the action. Increasing the number of students who achieve at UH KKM in every end of each cycle compared to the number of the students who achieve a score of KKM on basic score. The results of this study indicate that application of cooperative learning in the structural approach TSTS can improve the process of learning and improve the learning outcomes of fifth grade of mathematics students at SDN 50 Babussalam in the odd semester of academic year 2013/2014. Key words: Mathematics learning outcomes, Cooperative learning, Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS), Classroom action research.

Abstract

Abstract: This research is based on the low the ability of student’s mathematical understanding of class X MIA MAN 1 Pekanbaru. This research was done in class X MIA of MAN 1 Pekanbaru at second semester of academic year 2015/2016. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of the implementation Cooperative Learning Model Think Pair Square (TPS) to increase the ability of student’s mathematical understanding of class X MIA MAN 1 Pekanbaru. The type of this research is quasi-experimental with a design that is used is Non-equivalent Control Group Design. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling technique. This research involved two classes, namely samples that are subjected to the experimental class of the application of cooperative learning model Think Pair square (TPS) while the control group received treatment in the form of conventional learning. The instrument of collecting data in this study is pretest and posttest ability mathematical understanding. This study shows that the increase in the ability of students' mathematical understanding experimental class is better than the control class. Index increased ability of understanding mathematical experimental class at the high category while the control class in middle category. It can be concluded that cooperative learning model Think Pair Square positive effect of increasing the ability of student’s mathematical understanding class X MIA MAN 1 Pekanbaru at second semester of academic year 2015/2016.Key Word : The Ability Of Mathematical Understanding, Cooperative Learning Model Think Pair Square (TPS), Quasi-experimental Research

Abstract

Abstract: This research is a class action research that aims to improve the learning process and mathematics learning outcomes through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The subjects of this research were VIII.7 grade students of SMP Negeri 5 Pekanbaru in the academic year 2019/2020, which total of participants are 38 students, consists of 20 male students and 18 female students. The research instrument consisted of mathematical learning instruments in the form of syllabus, lesson plans, student worksheet and data collection instruments in the form of observation sheets and mathematics learning outcomes tests. Data from the observation were analyzed with narrative descriptive analysis techniques and data from learning outcomes tests were analyzed with descriptive statistical analysis techniques. Based on the observation sheet analysis, the implementation of the PBL model can improve the learning process as indicated by an increase in teacher activity and student sheets activity in each cycle. This gives an influence on student learning outcomes. The percentage of students who achieved the minimum criteria of mastery learning increased from 7 students (18.42%) to 18 students (47.37%) during UH I and to 24 students (63.16%) in UH II. The results of this research indicate that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model can improve the learning process and mathematics learning outcomes of students in class VIII.7 SMP Negeri 5 Pekanbaru odd semester 2019/2020 academic year on the material system of linear two-variable equation.Key Words: Mathematics Learning Outcomes, Problem Based Learning, Classroom Action Research

Abstract

Abstract: The background of this research is by the limited availability of mathematic learning instruments as supporting learning referring to Curriculum 2013. This research purpose is produce to mathematics learning instrument (Syllabus, Lesson Plan and Student Worksheet) which refers to Discovery Learning model on subject Circle for SMA/MA with minimum valid and practical criteria. This reserch method used is 4D model by Thiangrajan, that consist of define, design, development and dissemination, but the reserch only done to development step due to time constraints. In this research, a limited trial was conducted on 13 students of grade XII. Based on the results data analysis, it can be concluded that mathematics learning is very valid with the average ratings for the syllabus is 4,60; the average ratings for lesson plan is 4,62 and the average ratings for the student worksheet is 4,63. The student worksheet has also reached the practical qualification in mean percentage of student responses 94,61% in limited group trial with very practical criteria. Based on the results of this research can be concluded that the product in the form of syllabus, Lesson Plan and Student Worksheet mathematics with discovery learning model on subject Circle for grade XI is considered very valid and practical.Key Words: Research and Development, Mathematics Learning Instruments,Discovery Learning model, Circle

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to improve learning process and to increase the mathematic learning evaluation by implying cooperative learning of Team Assisted Individualization. The subjects of this research are student in grade VIII3 of SMP Negeri 8 Pekanbaru at the second semester of academic year 2015/2016. Total number of participant are 36 whose academic achievement are heterogen. This research is a class action research which have two cycles, each cycle have four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Each cycle closed by daily exam. The data collected by observation and examination at daily based. The data analised by narative descriptive analysis and statistical descriptive analysis. The implementation succes if the improvement of the learning process and the number of students reach minimum completeness criteria (MCC) increase at daily examination I and daily examination II. The research result from the observation form shows that teacher and student activity are better after the treatment implemented. More than half students actively participated in the learning process, as discuss, presented student worksheet (SW), responded to presenter group, and gave the learning conclusion. The students also tried to solve the quiz from teacher in a great manner. The number of students whose achieved basic score of MCC,; daily examination I (first cycle), and daily examination II (second cycle) are 11.11%, 83.33% and 80.55%. This research shows that cooperative learning of Team Assisted Individualization can improve learning process and increase mathematic learning evaluation for VIII3 of SMP Negeri 8 Pekanbaru.Key Words: Mathematical Achievement, Cooperative Learning, Cooperative Learning of Team Assisted Individualization

Abstract

Abstrak: The background of this research is the low ability of students' problem solving of mathematics which causes the low result of the mathematics students learning. This research is a pre-experimental research and use the design of The Static Group Comparison. Population in this research is all grade VIII students in SMP Negeri 14 Pekanbaru. The sample in this research consists of two class, where the VIII4 as a control class and the VIII7 as as experimental class. The purpose of this research is to know the effect of implemantation problem solving strategy in think pair share (tps) structural approach of cooperative learning towards students mathematics problem solving ability in KD 3.1 generalizing of patterns on sequence numbers and sequences of object configuration and KD 4.1 resolving problems related to patterns sequence of numbers and sequences of object configuration. The instruments in this research were mathematical early ability test and mathematical problem ability test (postest). The result of mathematical early ability test was used for determining the sample of class. The postest result was analyzed by nonparametric statistic test of Mann Whitney. The result of the research showed that implementation problem solving strategy in think pair share (tps) structural approach of cooperative learning give the positive effect towards students mathematical problem solving ability at class VIII SMP Negeri 14 Pekanbaru. The implementation of problem solving strategy in think pair share (tps) structural approach of cooperative learning gave effect for 31,30% towards students mathematical problem solving ability at class VIII SMP Negeri 14 Pekanbaru and included in the minimum category.Key Words: Problem solving strategies, Think Pair Share structural approach to Cooperative learning, Mathematical Problem Solving Ability

Abstract

Abstract: The background of this study was students’ low achievement at X.4 class of SMA Negeri 1 Kateman in learning Math that reached KKM on the material Shape Rank, Roots, and logarithm that 15 of 35 students with a percentage of 42.85%. The aim of this study was to improve learning process and learning outcomes of the students in Math by applying Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) Cooperative Learning type. The design of this research was the Classroom Action Research consisted of two cycles and at the end of each cycle conducted tests. The subjects of this research were students class X.4 of SMA Negeri 1 Kateman at the second semester of the school year 2015/2016. The students consisted of 10 males and 25 females. The data collection instrument was the observation sheet both of teacher and students activities and Math test. Observations were conducted to collect data on the activities of teachers and students. Math test are used to gather data on the results of students’ in learning Math. Based on data analysis of the teacher’s and students’ activities, it shows that teaching and learning process in Math by applying TSTS cooperative learning type was getting better because the learning process was conducted according to what was planned in the lesson plan. The results show that improvement in students’ learning outcomes was 40% on the basic score became 54.29% in the first cycle and 80% in the second cycle. This study concluded that the application of TSTS cooperative learning type can improve the students’ learning process and learning outcomes of X.4 class of SMA Negeri 1 Kateman at second semester of academic year 2015/2016.Keywords: Math learning outcomes, Two Stay Two Stray Cooperative Learning Strategy, Classroom Action Research.
