Abstract

Interpersonal communication is communication between two people face to face, which allows any other person reaction catch participants directly, either in verbal or nonverbal. Interpersonal communication is only consistedof two people, such us the patient and nurse, the husband and wife, teacher and student and etc. So that communicator can see the reaction given by komunikan. But the real practice interpersonal communication is often overlooked because of time belonging to the health worker. Treatment Compliance is a complete regularly and complete treatment without interrupted for at least 6 months up to 8 months. With good interpersonal communication built up between the health worker and the patients are expected to improve patient medication adherence.This research is descriptive analytic study with the purpose of analyzing the relations interpersonal communication health worker on the compliance of patients lived treatment of Pulmonary Tuberkulosis. The population in this study were all patients with Pulmonary Tuberculosis in Sunggal the Health Center and the number of samples is entire populations that as many as 42 people.Data was obtained with the interview using questionnaire were analyzed using Chi-square test at = 0.05. The results showed the frequency of adherent patients as many as 28 people (66,7%)and non-adherentmany as 14 people (33.3%). The results of statistical tests shows interpersonal communication variable aspects of openness, empathy, supportiveness and equality effect to compliance of patients lived treatment of pulmonary Tuberculosis in Medan Sunggal the Health Center. Pulmonary Tuberculosis.To the health worker advised that holds especially Pulmonary Tuberculosis program in order to always provide motivation to patients to regularly take medication at the health center.

Abstract

ABSTRACTHuman Immuno defiency Virus ( HIV ) is a virus that attacks the human immune system and weakens the body's ability to fight disease came. The discovery of cases of HIV / AIDS on Women Sex Workers (WSW) in Localization Bukit Maraja Desa Marihat Bukit Kecamatan Gunung Malela Kabupaten Simalungun may be influenced by the level of knowledge of Women Sex Workers (WSW) on sexually transmitted diseases ( STDS). This research aims to describe the knowledge Women Sex Workers ( WSW ) of the Human Immuno Deficiency Virus disease / Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome ( HIV / AIDS ) in Bukit Maraja Desa Marihat Bukit Kecamatan Gunung Malela Kabupaten Simalungun in the year of 2014 . This research was a descriptive study with cross design sectional . Research was all Women Sex Workers ( WSW ) in Localization Bukit Maraja Desa Marihat Bukit Kecamatan Gunung Malela Kabupaten Simalungun In the year of 2014 was 135 people research of this study was 56 people, for sampling method using by simple random sampling . The data of Primary was performed by direct interviews with patients using questionnaires to Women Sex Workers ( WSW ) and secondary data obtained from Bukit Maraja Health Center .The results of this research showed that the respondents' knowledge based on good category of either the 42 people ( 75 % ) level of knowledge sufficient was 13 people ( 23.2 % ) and level of poor knowledge was 1 people ( 1.8 % ) . In generally , the respondents' attitudes based on high category was 54 people ( 96.4 % ) and then followed by the category of less attitude was 2 people ( 3.6 % ) . And also, category of respondents' attitudes was in good category by 49 people ( 87.5 % ) and then followed by suffient behavior of 7 people ( 12.5 % ) . Based on respondents resources on HIV / AIDS at the most sourced from friends that amounted all of people ( 32.1 % ) . Suggested to the health department can utilize methods that will take advantage of the peer educater WPS to be able to provide information about HIV / AIDS to the other people .Keywords : Knowledge , women sex workers , HIV / AIDS.

Abstract

ABSTRACTNo Smoking Area is a place or area that prohibited for production, sales, advertising, promotion and use of cigarettes activities. Determination of No Smoking Area is an effort to protect the public against the risk of health problems due to the threat of contaminated environment. This is background of researcher to conduct the research with using a qualitative studies to identify and understand the perception of the leadership ranks at the District Health Office Langkat about No Smoking Area year 2014 because the leadership is the people who are influential in establish a policy to be determined.This study uses a qualitative approach that utilizes a data collection technique with in-depth interviews to six-person as informant.The results showed all informants are agreeing on the No Smoking Area in District Health Office Langkat because it has a positive impact especially in health sector. Informants also had a strong commitment to realize it. The policy draft regarding to No Smoking Area expressed by several informants in written rules and sanctions, it starts with the appeal and the to awareness by using the health promotion steps. Therefore, researcher suggest that the Leadership ranks to sets the No Smoking Area immediately and dissemination of guidelines for implementation of the No Smoking Area.Keyword = perception, leadrship ranks, smoke and no smoking area.

Abstract

Pulmonary Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by the bacteria directly with pulmonary tuberculosis (mycobacterium tuberculosis lung). Most of pulmonary TB germs attack lungs, but can also regarding another parts of body. East Kisaran district is one of the District in shavings with cases of TB patients are quite high. Where every year the number of TB cases is still on the charts high enough. In 2010 a total of 36 cases increased to 40 cases in 2011, then increased to 41 cases in the following year in 2012 and the last in 2013 to 40 cases. This research is a descriptive survey aimed to determine the role of Officer of Health for treatment compliance in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis in Gambir Baru subdistrict East Kisaran District of the Year 2014. The entire range of pulmonary tuberculosis patients who passing the treatment period of at least 6 months in Gambir Baru subdistrict East Kisaran district in 2014 as many as 43 people. Sampling was done by (total sampling) TB patients who undergo treatment as many as 43 people. The results showed that the Trustees took the drug for treatment compliance respondent is good for 22 persons (51.2%), Health Extension of the respondent is a good treatment compliance is 29 persons (44.2%), Interpersonal Communication on TB treatment compliance is good that 20 people (46.5 %), Motivation Officer of Health for TB treatment compliance is sufficient that 20 people (46.5%), TB treatment compliance respondents were adherent of 28 people (65.1%) Based on the research results suggested increase counseling and manufacture of pamphlets, and billboards to increase public knowledge about the prevention of pulmonary TB, the community to participate in pulmonary tuberculosis disease prevention programs   Keywords: pulmonary tuberculosis patients, TB

Abstract

Smoking is a bad behavior which can cause danger to health. Today, it becomes a habit for adolescents. It can be prevented by promoting health education by using audiovisual media, which provides information and education for increasing good knowledge and attitude toward the prevention of smoking. The research problem was how about the influence of audiovisual media on adolescents' knowledge and attitude. The objective of the research was to analyze the impact of audiovisual media on adolescents' knowledge and attitude toward the danger of smoking at SMP Negeri 2 Halongonan Timur Subdistrict. The study used a quasi-experimental method with pretest-posttest design. It was conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Halongonan Timur Subdistrict, Padang Lawas Utara Regency. Eighty-four samples were selected and allocated to the intervention group and the control group. The data were gathered using questionnaires. The hypothesis was tested by using paired t-test ad independent t-test. The result of the research showed that there was a significant influence of audiovisual media (p<0.05) on adolescents' knowledge and attitude after they had been given intervention. The conclusion was that audiovisual media was more effective in increasing adolescents' knowledge and attitude toward the danger of smoking. It is recommended that parents not smoke in front of their children. The school management needs to collaborate with the parents for discussing the academic development and students' behavior, and health care providers should increase health education program about the danger of smoking. Abstract

HIV/AIDS in adolescents cannot be separated from globalization development, which causes their current social changes and negative lifestyle such as pre-marriage sex, keeping on changing sex partners, and drug abuse. Promotional action should be done to prevent from HIV/ASIDS in adolescents by using leaflet and audio-visual media, which provide information and education about the danger of HIV/AIDS so that they will have good knowledge and positive attitude. The research problem was how about the influence of promotion media using leaflets and audio-visual on adolescents' knowledge and attitude, The objective of the research was to analyze the influence of promotion media using leaflets and audio-visual on adolescents' knowledge and attitude toward the danger of HIV/AIDS at SMK Swasta Imelda, Medan. Using the Wilcoxon test tested the hypothesis. The result of the research showed that there was significant influence of leaflet and audio-visual media (p<0.05) on adolescents' knowledge and attitude in the post intervention. The conclusion was that leaflet and audio-visual media were more effective in increasing adolescents' knowledge and attitude toward the danger of HIV/AIDS. It is recommended that parents control democratically their children at home or outside their homes. The school management should increase the cooperation with parents in order to increase students' academic development, and the health care providers in the neighborhood should increase health education program. Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by hyperglycemia. Type 2 DM management is education, diet regulation, drug therapy, physical exercise, and routine check of BGC to prevent complications from improving the quality of life of patients. The study aimed to examine the effect of short messages on medication adherence and control of BGC values ??in type 2 DM patients. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design, pretest, and posttest with a non-equivalent control group that was applied in this study. The research was conducted at Bromo Medan Health Center. Samples were all type 2 diabetes mellitus patients who were controlled to Medan Bromo Puskesmas for 84 people who were divided into two groups, namely the intervention and control groups. The data collection tool uses a questionnaire. The test used was the Wilcoxon test and the Mann Whitney test. The results showed that the short message was significantly (p <0.05), giving a compliant effect on the rules of taking medication and controlling the BGC value compared to patients with type 2 DM who did not send short messages. This study concludes that quick message delivery effectively improves medication adherence and controls BGC values ??to enhance the quality of life of patients with type 2 diabetes. This study recommended family members to remind for controlling blood glucose levels. An SMS reminder activity program also needs to conduct while implementing the plan. Abstract

Various interventions to prevent smoking at this time have been carried out on modifications of peer influence, not only to improve their knowledge, adolescents need to be given skills to control themselves, especially from peer influences with the aim that smoking is not socially accepted for adolescents and cooperative learning is a suitable method. Cooperative learning is successfully used by teachers and researchers at various levels of education, the field of health, especially public health education, and is proven effective when someone teaches his peers about health. This study uses a cooperative learning model with a jigsaw technique, aimed at analyzing differences in smoking prevention behavior (based on planned behavior theory consisting of attitudes, subjective norms, behavioral control, and intentions) between before and after the intervention. Research with quasi experiment type has been carried out in MTS Amin Darussalam of 20 students who were collected by purposive sampling technique, data were collected by questionnaire and analyzed by Chi-Square. The results showed that there were differences in attitudes, subjective norms, PBC and intentions between before and after the intervention with jigsaw.

Abstract

Indonesia is a dengue endemic area and it has an epidemic once in 4-5 years. Until now it tends to increase in number of cases as well as its widespread. Researchers investigated that socio-demography, knowledge and attitudes related to dengue disease affecting the participation of housewives in prevention of dengue fever dengue mosquito through questionnaires and interviews. This research was conducted descriptively with cross sectional approach to 72 housewives in sub-district Muara Dua, Lhokseumawe, Aceh, Indonesia using sample purposive sampling process. The relationship between the characteristics of housewives with their involvement in prevention of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) was analyzed using Pearson correlation analysis. More than 75% of respondents live in endemic areas and over 68% of respondents knew that dengue is transmitted through mosquitoes. 50% of respondents knew that 3M (draining the water reservoir, closing the water reservoir and burying the garbage) Plus as DHF prevention but only 37.5% of respondents have applied 3M Plus even though they know that it needs to be continuously done throughout the year especially in the rainy season. The respondents' participation in prevention of DHF disease in moderate category was 50 respondents (69.44%), 9 respondents (12.5%) were categorized as low in participation and only 13 respondents (18.06%) were categorized as very good in participation in the effort to eliminate DHF. There was a highly significant correlation between knowledge and attitude (p <0.01) and there was a significant correlation in education (p <0.05) of housewives with their actions in the prevention of dengue hemorrhagic fever. This reflects the urgent need for advocacy programs in raising awareness of DHF in the community. The nearest inter-sector collaborates with the medical, veterinary, community and local authority sectors to ensure the availability of DHF prevention services besides 3M Plus, also a monitoring officer/home and public health service to undertake health promotion programs of DHF prevention. This is a key element to eliminate deaths from dengue fever which occur every year.

Abstract

Smoking is a fatal issue that has not yet been resolved and spread even among adolescents particularly in Indonesia. This study aim to depict the adolescents smoking behavior in SMPN three Medan or urban areas and MTS Amin Darussalam Deli Serdang or suburban areas. This cross sectional study conducted on October. Data were collected using questionnaires toward students from both school. Results shows majority respondent in urban have good knowledge, negative attitude toward cigarette and non-smokers but interested in smoking, majority of former smokers in urban firstly tried smoking during sixth grade elementary because of peer influence, smoking occasionally, ever smoked one to five cigarettes per day, quit smoking because of self-awareness and still have interest in smoking. Furthermore, majority respondent in suburban have bad bad knowledge, negative attitude toward cigarette, smoker, firstly tried smoking during sixth grade elementry because of peer influence, smoking occasionally, ever smoked one to five cigarettes per day and have no intention to quit smoking, majority of former smokers quit smoking because of caught by parent or teacher and still have interest in smoking. In conclusion, there is difference of smoking behavior between urban and suburban, the depiction of smoking behavior in suburban is worse than in urban because it has higher number of smokers, poorly dominant of knowledge and have no intention to quit smoking.
