Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ mathematical reasoning ability through using posing problem model on the topic of cube at the eighth grade students of SMP swastaTapianNauli. The research was conducted by applying Class Action Research (CAR) with 25 students as the subject. Instrument of the research was test, questionnaire, and observation. The research consists of two cycles. The first cycle showed (a) the test showed the students’ achievement of cube was 74,25, (b) the questionnaire showed the average of students’ activities was 64.40, and (c) the observation of class teacher showed the ability of researcher in using posing problem model was 100. Furthermore, the second cycle showed (a) the test showed the students’ achievement of cube was 87, (b) the questionnaire showed the average of students’ activities was 87,60 and (c) the observation of class teacher showed the ability of researcher in using posing problem model was 100. It’s concluded posing problem model was able to improve students’ mathematical reasoning abilityon the topic of cube at the eighth grade students of SMP swasta Tapian Nauli.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to describe the effectiveness of using flipped classroom learning model on students' critical mathematical thinking ability of SMP Negeri 1 Angkola. The research was conducted by applying experimental method (one group pretest post test design) with 30 students as the sample and they were taken by using cluster random sampling technique from 180 students. Observation and test were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it was found: (a) the average of using flipped classroom was 3.67 (good category) and (b) the average of students' critical mathematical thinking ability before using flipped classroom learning model was 50.53 (fair category) and after using 88.40 (very good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using pair sample ttest, (SPSS version 22), the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.000<0.05). It means, using flipped classroom learning model was effective on students' critical mathematical thinking ability of SMP Negeri 1 Angkola.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ mathematical problem solving ability on the topic of solid through using blended learning based on you tube of SMP Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan. The research was conducted by applying Class Action Research (CAR) with 25 students as the subject (class VIII-1 SMP Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan). Instrument of the research was test and observation. The research consists of two cycles. The first cycle showed the average of test of the students’ mathematical problem solving ability on the topic of solid was 74.59 (48% students got passing grade) and the average of observation sheets showed 87.53 (very good category). Furthermore, the second cycle showed the average of the test was 86.24 (88% students got passing grade) and the average of observation sheets was 94.42 (very good category). It’s concluded blended learning based on you tube was able to improve students’ problem solving ability of SMP Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze students’ mathematical connection ability on the topic of Phytagoras theorem which reviewed on using CORE learning model at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan. The research was conducted by applying experimental method (intact group comparison design) with 54 students as the sample and they were taken by using Cluster random sampling technique. Sample was divided into two groups, 27 students as control class (using lecture) and 27 students as experimental class (using CORE). Based on descriptive analysis, it was found: (a) the average of students’ mathematical connection ability before using lecture learning model was 50.82 (fair category) and after using lecture learning model was 73.66 (enough category) and (b) the average of students’ mathematical connection ability before using CORE learning model was 50.72 (fair category) and after using CORE learning model was 85.25 (good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using N-Gain, the result showed g= 0.369 (low category) for control class and g=0.706 (high category) for experimental class. It ‘s concluded that using CORE more effective than lecture learning model on the topic of Phytagoras theorem at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan keefektifan penggunaan model pembelajaran kelas terbalik pada kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 9 Padangsidimpuan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menerapkan eksperimen (one group pre test post test design) dengan 27 siswa sebagai sampel dan diambil dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling dari 169 siswa. Observasi dan tes digunakan dalam mengumpulkan data. Berdasarkan analisis deskriptif, ditemukan: (a) rata-rata menggunakan model pembelajaran kelas terbalik adalah 3,66 (kategori baik) dan (b) rata-rata kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa sebelum menggunakan model pembelajaran kelas terbalik adalah 40,19 (kategori gagal) dan setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran terbalik kelas adalah 79,93 (kategori baik). Selanjutnya, dengan menggunakan pair sample ttes dan N-Gain, hasilnya menunjukkan nilai signifikan kurang dari 0,05 (0,000 <0,05) dan g = 0,81. Itu berarti menggunakan model pembelajaran terbalik kelas memiliki media yang efektif pada kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze students’ mathematical problem solving ability before and after pandemic Covid-19 period at the tenth grade students of MAN 1 Tapanuli Tengah. On line learning was used before pandemic Covid-19 period and offline was used after pandemic Covid-19 period. The research was conducted by applying qualitative descriptive method. Interview, questionnaire, and test were used in collecting the data. The data was analysis by applying data reduction, data presentation, and taking conclusion. The result of the research showed (1) the average of students’ mathematical problem solving ability before pandemic Covid-19 period (online learning) was 1.5 (enough category) and after pandemic Covid-19 period (offline learning) was 1.2 (fail category). It’s concluded online learning is not efficient used in pandemic Covid-19 period so we have to looking for the other solution in learning pandemic Covid-19 period.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berawal dari permasalahan dalam kurangnya motivasi belajar siswa di SMA Negeri 1 Batang Angkola , dimana sebagian besar siswa siswa memiliki motivasi belajar yang rendah Oleh karena itu, untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa guru perlu melakukan usaha salah satunya dengan menggunakan kemampuan guru bertanya tentang materi. Uuntuk melihat kaitannya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Deskriptif. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Batang Angkola. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data berupa lembar observasi, angket dan tes hasil belajar. Data yang diperoleh dalam penelitian dianalis dengan menggunakan analisis data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian ini Tinggi rendahnya motivasi belajar siswa salah satu faktor penentu adalah sejauhmana kemampuan guru dalam mengajukan pertanyaan di dalam proses belajar mengajar. Motivasi belajar siswa di SMA Negeri 1 Batang Angkola dapat ditentukan oleh kemampuan guru bertanya. Dengan kata lain, kemampuan guru bertanya dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. Hal ini terbukti dari hasil analisis data yang dilakukan bahwa tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kemampuan guru bertanya dengan motivasi belajar siswa dimana rxy = 0,401 > 0,361 = rt. Kemampuan guru bertanya yang ada di SMA Negeri 1 Batang Angkola masuk pada kategori “baik”, di mana skor rerata yang diperoleh 2,47. Kemampuan guru bertanya ketika proses belajar mengajar berlangsung digambarkan siswa sudah baik. Selanjutnya, hasil temuan penelitian tentang motivasi belajar siswa diperoleh nilai rerata 2,50. Hal ini menggambarkan bahwa motivasi belajar siswa masuk pada kategori “baik”. Artinya, para siswa telah memiliki motivasi belajar yang tinggi dalam setiap kegiatan proses belajar mengajar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesulitan siswa dalam pembelajaran online selama pandemi Covid -19. Penelitian dilakukan di SMP Negeri 1 Barus Utara dengan menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif. Instrumen penelitian berupa angket (skala Guttman) dan wawancara. Responden penelitian berjumlah 30 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 1) rata-rata angket 68,83 (kategori sulit) dan 2) berdasarkan wawancara, kesulitan belajar online saat pandemi Covid -19 yang meliputi siswa tidak memiliki handphone, jaringan internet tidak lancar , dan kuota internet tidak mencukupi.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe teachers’ readiness, teachers’ obstacles, and teachers’ efforts to overcome the obstacles in online learning in pandemic period of SMP Negeri 1 Sorkam. The research was conducted by applying qualitative descriptive method. Interview, questionnaire, and documentation were used in collecting the data. The data was analysis by applying data reduction, data presentation, and taking conclusion. The result of Sthe research showed (1) the average of teachers’ readiness in online learning in pandemic period was 3.00 (good category), 2) teachers’ obstacles in online learning in pandemic period were included the internet network was not good and the electricity network often went out, and 3) teachers’ efforts to overcome the obstacles in online learning in pandemic period was conducted offline.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the learning style of students an the relationship of students learning style to the results of students' mathematics learning in the V neighborhood, losung village during the covid-19 pandemic. There are three types of learning styles that will be discussed in this study, namely auditorial visual and kinesthetic. The method used is qualitative method. Closed questionnaire, unstructured interviews, and documentation are used in data collection. Miles and Huberman tecniques are used in data collection, include 1) data reduction, 2) data presentation, and 3) data verification. The result showed that junior high school students in environment V in mathematics learning dominantly have a visual learning style with a total of 5 people (50%) with an average rating of 77.6. Auditorial learning style with a total of people (20%) with an average score of 70, while kinesthetic learning style with a total of peopl (30%) with an averag rating of 56.6. During the covid-19 pandemic students with visual learning styles learn better than students with auditorial and kinesthetic learning styles.
