Abstract

Introduction: Non-hemorrhagic stroke is a stroke caused by the existence of blockage that occurs as a result of a thrombus in vessels, blood-brain, or clot blood caused by the embolic process. A stroke causes several complications such as cerebral edema, increased intracranial pressure, seizures, hemorrhagic transformation, pneumonia, urinary tract infections, venous thrombosis, and impaired daily activities. Nurses must provide nursing care to overcome barriers to the physical mobility of non-hemorrhagic stroke patients. Objective: This activity was conducted to describe the implementation of nursing practice Range of Motion on Mrs. R with a non-hemorrhagic stroke who had impaired physical mobility. Method: Research this use method studies case with design writing descriptive. The approach used that is with approach implementation of nursing covers measuring a patient's vital signs, measuring the strength of muscle extremities patient, give practice Range of Motion, and giving therapy pharmacological. Result: After being given the Range of Motion exercise to Mrs. R, which was carried out for three days showed that the patient's muscle strength had increased, while the patient's impaired physical mobility had not been overcome. Conclusion: It is necessary to do Range of Motion at least twice a day with a time of 10 to 15 minutes to maximize the increase in extremity muscle strength in non-hemorrhagic stroke patients.

Abstract

Introduction: Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 DM (T2DM) is a metabolic disorder that accounts for 90% to 95% of all cases of DM. The success of T2DM therapy in controlling blood glucose with self-management can be influenced by individual characteristics, knowledge, health status, health system, and selection of anti-diabetic drugs. Self-management of DM patients is the attitude that patients apply to their understanding of DM, such as controlling diet, physical activity, medication adherence, and glucose management. Education by health workers about basic information on controlling glucose levels and the prevention of complications will improve the self-management of T2DM patients. Objective: This Community Service Program (CSP) aims to increase knowledge, self-management, and control of glucose levels in T2DM patients. Method: This CSP method uses lectures with leaflet media, discussions, questions and answers, and interviews, covering the preparation to evaluation stages individually. Measurement of self-management using the Diabetes Self-management  Questionnaire (DSMQ). PCM partner is an Integrated Service for the Elderly in Tipar Kidul Village, Ajibarang. Result: The results of this CSP are that the blood glucose levels of CSP participants have an average blood glucose value of 244.8 mg/dl. As many as 26 (86.3%) are in the uncontrolled and hyperglycemic categories. The result was that the participants' blood glucose levels were 244.8 mg/dl, and 26 (86.3%) were in the uncontrolled or hyperglycemic category. Participants' self-management had a mean value of 37.4, included in the high or good level, and 19 (63%) were in the sufficient category. Conclusion: The outputs of this CSP activity are leaflets as educational media, intellectual property rights certificates of educational brochures, and publications in CSP journals.

Abstract

Introduction: Diarrhea is characterized by an increased frequency of defecation more than three times a day, accompanied by changes in the consistency of feces with or without lenders or blood. To avoid diarrhea, it is necessary to consume healthy snack foods. Diarrhea is still one of the world's biggest health problems, especially in developing countries, because the high morbidity and mortality rates are still high. Objective: Providing counseling and education to Pantai Asuhan Harapan Mulia children about diarrhea. Method: The strategy implemented to overcome the problem of diarrhea in children is to conduct counseling, where this counseling strategy will be enforced directly on the target, namely children in the Harapan Mulia Orphanage, East Purwokerto. The implementation strategy that has been carried out is the provision of health counseling on diarrhea, with the implementation of prevention, carried out jointly at the Harapan Mulia Orphanage, East Purwokerto. Result: The result of this health education promotion is the implementation of health education regarding the prevention of diarrhea at the Harapan Mulia orphanage in East Purwokerto. Before being given counseling, several children knew how to prevent diarrhea, one of them was washing their hands, but only one or two people knew the six steps of washing their right hand. Conclusion: The counseling activity was carried out at the Harapan Mulia Orphanage in Ledug, East Purwokerto. The material provided is about diarrhea which includes understanding the causes, symptoms, and ways to prevent it. Counseling is carried out using leaflets and posters that explain the six steps of excellent and correct hand washing.

Abstract

Introduction: Since 1992, the WHO has labeled tuberculosis a worldwide emergency. Delays in tuberculosis diagnosis, detection of new cases, and treatment are brought on by the COVID-19 epidemic. In Somagede Village, 20 (90,9%) of 24 TB cases were successfully treated, and there were 1 (4,5%) deaths as a result of TB therapy. Objective: This public service was carrying out these activities as a kind of health promotion in order to increase public awareness of health education regarding TB prevention and prevent the spread of the disease in Somagede. Method: This public service was implemented in three steps, including the permission granted, media disclosure, and the second stage, which is currently based on approval from the government of the Somagede and the letter of duty number UHB/KET/035/1121. At the end of the session, participants' public service actions are evaluated. On June 26, 2022, this health education promotion will take place. The household is the focus. With the aid of a leaflet, PowerPoint slides, notebook, LCDs, projectors, pointers, and speakers, health education methods can be presented through lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and redemonstrations. Result: The number of participants was 30. The execution time is approximately 1 hour, with the group members organized as moderator, presenter, notuensis, observer, documentarian, and facilitator. During the implementation of the public examination, participants actively followed the entire range of activities, properly demonstrated how to wash hands, and discussed the ethics of coughing. Conclusion: Activities are running well, and there is extensive public knowledge about TB disease.

Abstract

Introduction: The Healthy Adjusted Life Expectancy Index (HALE) for 2019 for the Indonesian population is 62.8 years lower than the 71.3 years for standard life expectancy; this is due to the lack of quality of life in Indonesia. The profile of the population in Central Java for the elderly category every year is similar to the increase on a national scale. The fact that the elderly are still working to earn a living indicates that their welfare level is still low. Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are often the cause of premature death before the age of 70. Cardiovascular disease is the number-one killer in the world. Cardiometabolic syndrome is characterized by at least three things: abdominal obesity, increased plasma glucose, increased blood pressure, increased triglycerides, and decreased HDL cholesterol. A study on five members found an average total cholesterol level of 168.9 mg/dl and an average blood pressure of 125.4/80.9 mmHg. Objective: The aim of this community service is to increase awareness and the health status of members of the hypertension care group in Mersi Purwokerto. Methods: This community service method involves coordination with the chief of the hypertension care group, making leaflets, and preparing tools and materials for cholesterol examination. Results: This community service received good active participation from members of the hypertension care group in Mersi, Purwokerto. Overview of the risk of metabolic syndrome in community service participants, namely 32 DM sufferers (55.2%), 25 hypertension sufferers (43.1%), and 45 with high total cholesterol levels (77.6%). Conclusion: The results of this community service are expected to be a screening for participants who have a high risk of cardiometabolic syndrome and a desire to continue to make active and healthy lifestyle changes.

Abstract

Introduction: Stunting is a prevalent problem in early childhood development, characterized by impaired growth and height at an age below the standard threshold. Addressing stunting in the first 1000 days of life is critical to preventing long-term consequences for physical and cognitive development. Objective: The aim of this community service was to improve the awareness and health of the Sokaraja. This study aims to explore and evaluate the impact of nutrition interventions on stunted children under five. Methods: The method implemented to overcome the problem of stunting in children is by conducting direct counseling on Saturday, July 8, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The target audience is mothers at Posyandu Harapan 3, Sokaraja, with 30 participants. Then, using lecture and discussion methods with media and PowerPoint slides about toddler nutrition and leaflets about the importance of toddler nutrition, demonstrate cooking foods that contain nutrients and protein. The counseling process was conducted personally for about an hour. Results: The results are three age categories of children who have different heights and weights. First, children aged 0–1 years have an average height of 68.8 cm and an average weight of 9.5 kg. Second, children aged 2–3 years have an average height of 84.7 cm and an average weight of 11.5 kg. Third, children aged 3-5 years have an average height of 96.1 cm and an average weight of 15.7 kg. Conclusion: Nutrition counseling activities are well organized. There is an increase in mothers' knowledge about toddler nutrition and stunting.

Abstract

Introduction: Diarrhea is a condition in which there is a disturbance in the human digestive tract, characterized by the consistency of watery or liquid stools or feces as well as the frequency of defecation more than three times a day. Many cases of diarrhea can heal on their own and are not dangerous, but diarrhea can disturb the sufferer and can cause complications of certain diseases. Therefore, diarrhea must be treated as soon as possible. Objective: The purpose of this service was to increase knowledge about diarrhea in adolescents. The purpose of this study is to find out the causes of diarrhea, prevent diarrhea, and know the six steps of good and correct hand washing. Method: This public service was conducted by conducting direct counseling on Saturday, July 15, 2023, from 20:00 to 21:30. The target of this counseling was the students of Al-Jamil Islamic Boarding School, with a total of 24 participants. Then, by using lecture, demonstration, redemonstration, and question and answer methods with the media used, namely PowerPoint and leaflets, about prevention of diarrhea and knowing the 6 steps of good and correct hand washing, Result: From this survey, the frequency of diarrhea that occurred in the students of Al-Jamil Islamic Boarding School in the last month was categorized by age. There were 4 students aged 13 years, 3 students aged 14 years, 3 students aged 16 years, and 1 student aged 17 years who experienced diarrhea in the last month. Conclusion: This counseling activity on diarrhea in adolescents runs well and smoothly. There is an increase in adolescent knowledge about diarrhea.

Abstract

Introduction: Upper Respiratory Tract Infection (ARI) is an acute respiratory infection caused by pathogens that are transmitted from human to human. Signs and symptoms usually appear quickly within a few hours to a few days. ARI is a very contagious disease and can occur due to decreased body resistance, for example due to fatigue or stress. Upper Respiratory Tract Infection (ARI) is one of the diseases that has the highest incidence rate and is the main cause of death and morbidity in infants and toddlers in Indonesia. Providing education to mothers of babies and toddlers regarding Upper Respiratory Tract Infections (ARI) is important. Objective: To provide counseling and education at toddler posyandu. Method: The strategy used is to carry out health education, where this strategy will be aimed directly at the target, namely mothers of babies and toddlers at Posyandu Balita Margosari RW. 05 Ledug Village. The implementation strategy that has been carried out is by providing health counseling on URTI, with lecture, discussion, and roleplay methods. Result: implementation of health education on Upper Respiratory Tract Infections at the Margosari Toddler Posyandu. Before being given counseling, many participants still did not know or hear about ISPA. After health education, participants already know about the meaning of ISPA infection, pathophysiology of ISPA, risk factors for ISPA, symptoms of ISPA, management of ISPA at home, prevention of ISPA, chest physiotherapy and massage for babies. Conclusion: The counseling material provided is about URTI which includes understanding, pathophysiology, signs and symptoms, risk factors for occurrence, management, and prevention, as well as chest physiotherapy in infants and toddlers. Counseling is carried out using leaflet media, ppt, and baby phantoms

Abstract

Introduction: Every year, the old population in Central Java has a similar profile to the rise in the country. NCDs are frequently to blame for premature death before age 70. Globally, cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death. According to a research of five participants, the average blood pressure was 125.4/80.9 mmHg, and the intermediate total cholesterol level was 168.9 mg/dl. Objective: Improve the health behavior of members of the hypertensive care group in the Eastern Purwokerto Mersi Kelurahan, especially by exercising intensively and consistently. Methods: Making pamphlets, providing tools and materials for cholesterol testing, and coordinating with the head of the hypertension care group are all part of this community service technique. At the end of the Public Health Service (PHS), the number of participants was 48. Results: Most PHS participants are women, 44 (91.7 %). 21 (43.7 %) have overweight to level 2 obesity. Seven (14.6 %) of the participants have previously had DM. Twenty-nine (60.4 %) suffer from hypertension. Of most PHS participants, 27 (56.3%) had a history of hypercholesterolemia, 36 (75.0%). There was an improvement in pre-normal cholesterol levels of practitioners by 36 (75.0%) to 28 (58.3%). Conclusion: This PHS activity has good active participation of the hypertension care group Mersi, Purwokerto members. There's been an improvement in the exercise participants' cholesterol levels.
