Abstract

AbstrackIntroduction: Minimum service standards field of administration and management about employee training require at least 20 hours per year. The aims of this study was to analyze the training needs of nurses at the Ahmad Yani Islamic hospital in Surabaya. In addition, this study explain the organizational analysis, conduct operational analysis, explain individual analysis nurse staff and prioritize nurse training needs in Ahmad Yani Islamic Hospital Surabaya. Method: This research is a observational description. The number of respondents about 55 nurses participating the study. Results: Based on the aspect of quantity of work, the workload of nurses is classified as high by 49.1%. Most have applied a high quantity of work aspects as much as 78.1%. In the aspect of quality of work, most nurses have performed high tasks. Conclusion: Analysis of organizations related to organizational climate at Ahmad Yani Islamic hospital in general was described by nurses in good condition. There are a number of things that need to be considered, namely guaranteed nurse self development through Training, work protection for nurses, nurse remuneration needs to be improved. Operational analysis related to the general competence of nurses in the nurse law is quite capable and most nurses have already taken action. Operational analysis relating to the priority of nurses' training needs is a main priority. Keywords: Operational Analysis; Individual Analysis; Nurse Training Priority.

Abstract

Introduction :Retirement is separation process of individual from their work that is being paid from their position or occupation. Retirement may change psychological responses. The aimed of this study was to analyze the influence of peer group support in psychological responses changes from public servant in retirement preparation phase. Method : This study was used an quasy experimental pre-post test purposive sampling design. Population were 18 respondents who will retire on 2009 and 2010 in Mardiwaluyo General Hospital Blitar. Sample were 16 respondents divided into 8 respondents each for treatment and control group. The independent variable was peer group support and dependent variable was psychological responses. Data were collected by using questionnaire before and after peer group support intervention. Data then analyzed by using Mann Whitney U Test and Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with significance level α≤0.05. Result: The result showed that peer group support didn’t have an influenced in denial respons (p=0.301), anger respons (p=0.317), bargaining respons (p=0.079) and depression respons (p=0.300). Otherwise peer group support have an influenced in acceptance respons (p=0.049). Discussion:  The result of this study has enlightened the important of retirement preparation phase to provide positive psychological responses. Further studies are recommended to extend this recearch with considering biological and spiritual responses.

Abstract

The development of Human Resources for Health (HRH) is one of the keys to achieving The Millennium Development Goals (MDG). Providing and ensuring the best health care service in every region of Indonesia has long been a major concern. Several challenges faced by HRH development are a shortage of professionals, uneven distribution of professionals between regions, a variety of settings (urban and rural), and management of the health workforce under a decentralization system.

Abstract

Introduction : Work stress which is often experienced by ICU nurses may affects nurse’s performance, nurse’s health and wealth so that the factors which may affect work stress such as organizational role stressors must be noticed. This study was aimed to explain the correlation between organizational role stressors and work stress level in ICU Nurses.Methods : This study used cross-sectional design  involved 13 respondents, taken by purposive sampling. The independent variable was organizational role stressors  and the dependent variable was work stress. Data were collected by using questionnaires and analyzed using Spearman’s rho with level of significance α ≤ 0.05.Results : Results showed that there was no significant correlation between organizational role stressors and work stress level in ICU nurses with significance value p ≤ 0.139.Conclusion :It can be concluded that the organizational role stressors had no correlation with work stress level because there are so many factors that may affect work stress in ICU nurses. Discussion : Role overload however was experienced by ICU nurses as a mild stressors. This indicates the importance of increasing nurse’s quality and quantity by training and recruiting new nursing staffs.

Abstract

Cancer-related fatigue (CRF) is one of the symptoms commonly experienced by cancer patients and has an impact on decreasing quality of life. The study aimed to explore the characteristics of cancer patients who experience cancer-related fatigue. The study involved 15 cancer patients using purposive sampling. The research instrument used a questionnaire characteristic of the research subjects and the Brief Fatigue Inventory. Descriptive data analysis using percentages and numbers. The results showed that most cancer patients experienced moderate fatigue, in the age range of the early elderly, stage III and received combination therapy. Fatigue in cancer patients is a symptom caused by multi factors. Cancer stage and type of treatment is one aspect that appears in the severity of perceived fatigue. CRF can occur in all phases of the disease, age, and type of treatment. Patient education about CRF needs to be done especially related to the management of fatigue that can be done both before and after treatment. Keywords: cancer-related fatigue, weakness

Abstract

Introduction:  This study was undertaken to verify effect of regular exercise training on insulin sensitivity and the modifiable cardiovascular risk factors, and to determine if there was any effect from the different regular exercises. Methods: A database search using PRISMA examined articles from Scopus, ScienceDirect and ProQuest. The inclusion criteria were that the article used a randomized controlled trial within the last 10 years, that the respondents were people with type 2 diabetes mellitus and that only physical exercise was the intervention involved. In total, 1,303 articles were screened and 16 articles were included that fit the criteria of inclusion in this systematic review. Results: Based on the review of the 15 articles, the findings show that regular exercise training has some benefits related to glycemic control. It can reduce insulin resistance, plasma insulin, fasting blood glucose, postpandrial blood glucose and hbA1c. . Moreover, physical exercise has other benefits for people with type 2 diabetes mellitus, such as an increased peak oxygen consumption (VO2 peak) and decreased c-reactive protein (CRP) level. Conclusion: Regular exercise training has benefits for people with type 2 diabetes mellitus and it can allow them to achieve of optimal glycemic control by improving insulin resistance and decreasing the cardiovascular risk factors. Physical exercise such as combined exercises (aerobic and resistance exercise) or a single exercise such as aerobic exercise can be recommended to improve insulin sensitivity and the modifiable cardiovascular risk factors in patients with T2DM.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Merokok pada remaja menjadi salah satu penyumbang mortalitas dan morbiditas di tingkat dunia. Kasus merokok sampai sekarang ini terus mengalami peningkatan. Namun, literature review untuk membandingkan kesenjangan penelitian yang telah lalu dengan yang saat ini menggunakan data Survei Demografi Kesehatan Indonesia belum pernah dilakukan.Metode: Pencarian literature review yang relevan menggunakan database pencarian sumber menggunakan mesin pencari Scopus, PubMed, Sciencedirect dan Search Engine Google Scholar dengan menggunakan kata kunci: determinan, merokok, remaja, Survei Demografi dan Kesehatan (SDK). Hasil pencarian yang sesuai dengan kriteria didapatkan dua belas artikel yang berhubungan dengan perilaku merokok pada remaja pria.Hasil: Terdapat duabelas artikel yang menyatakan perilaku merokok dapat berhubungan dengan usia, tingkat pendidikan, asuransi kesehatan, pekerjaan, agama, wilayah tempat tinggal, frekuensi penggunaan radio, televisi dan surat kabar.Kesimpulan: Penelitian dimasa yang akan datang terutama di Indonesia perlu meneliti lebih lanjut mengenai determinan perilaku merokok pada remaja pria menggunakan data Survei Demografi dan Kesehatan Indonesia Kesehatan Reproduksi Remaja (SDKI KRR) 2017

Abstract

The nursing profession needs to maintain nursing resources to become a professional nurse. Therefore, it is necessary to know the predictors of alumni career choice in the non-nursing field. This study aims to analyze the predictors related to the career choice of nursing alumni who work in non-nursing fields. The design of this study was cross-sectional. The research subjects were 101 graduates who were selected using purposive sampling. The variables analyzed in this study were age, gender, place of residence, program, salary, cumulative achievement index (GPA) in undergraduate education and professional education. The data was obtained from the tracer study of the alumni of the Faculty of Nursing, Universitas Airlangga through filling out questionnaires, then analyzed using Chi-square and logistic regression tests. The results showed that 26.7% of nursing alumni chose to work in the non-nursing field. There is a relationship between the programs taken and the career choices of nursing alumni who work in non-nursing fields, but there is no predictor that affects the career choices of nursing alumni who work in non-nursing fields. There needs to be special attention related to nursing education programs offered through activities that can increase interest and pride in the nursing profession, so as to retain alumni working as nurses.Keywords: non-nursing; career choice; tracer study ABSTRAK Profesi keperawatan perlu mempertahankan sumber daya keperawatan untuk menjadi perawat profesional. Oleh sebab itu perlu diketahui prediktor pilihan karir alumni di bidang non-keperawatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis prediktor yang berhubungan dengan pilihan karir alumni keperawatan yang bekerja di bidang non-keperawatan. Desain penelitian ini adalah cross-sectional. Subyek penelitian adalah 101 lulusan yang dipilih menggunakan purposive sampling. Variabel yang dianalisis dalam penelitian ini adalah usia, jenis kelamin, tempat tinggal, program, gaji, indeks prestasi kumulatif (IPK) dalam pendidikan sarjana dan pendidikan profesi. Data diperoleh dari tracer study alumni Fakultas Keperawatan, Universitas Airlangga melalui pengisian kuisioner, selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan Chi-square dan uji regresi logistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 26,7% alumni keperawatan memilih bekerja di bidang non-keperawatan. Ada hubungan antara program yang diambil dengan pilihan karir alumni keperawatan yang bekerja di bidang non-keperawatan, tetapi tidak ada prediktor yang berpengaruh terhadap pilihan karir alumni keperawatan yang bekerja di bidang non-keperawatan. Perlu ada perhatian khusus terkait dengan program pendidikan keperawatan yang ditawarkan melalui kegiatan yang dapat meningkatkan rasa minat dan bangga terhadap profesi keperawatan, sehingga dapat mempertahankan alumni bekerja sebagai perawat.Kata kunci: non-keperawatan; pilihan karir; tracer study

Abstract

Introduction. Konflik merupakan masalah yang sering kali terjadi pada remaja. Hal ini dapat memberikan dampak psikologis dan gangguan mental emosional pada remaja dan jika berangsur lama dapat menimbulkan efek yang buruk baik dari mental maupun fisik. Ketahanan psikologis tidak secara langsung ada pada diri remaja, melainkan melalui proses pembelajaran dan dukungan. Studi ini menganalisis dukungan sosial teman sebaya dan ketahanan psikologis remaja yang mengalami konflik dan masalah emosional akibat bullying. Methods.  Pendekatan Cross-sectional digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Sampel yang digunakan berjumlah 94 remaja. Data diambil dengan cara  memberikan kuesioner demografi, inform conscent, the Perceived Social Support from Friend (PSS-Fr) Scale dan The Brief Resilience Scale (BRS). Data di proses dengan statistik dekriptif dan dianalisis menggunakan Spearman's rho, menggunkan software SPSS. Results. Usia rata-rata remaja dalam studi ini adalah 14 tahun. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa ada korelasi positif antara dukungan sosial teman sebaya dengan ketahanan psikologis remaja (p < 0.05).  Conclusion. Penelitian ini megidentifikasi korelasi antara peran dukukan sosial teman sebaya dengan ketahanan psikologis remaja yang mengalami konflik dan masalah emosional akibat bullying. Hal ini menjaleasakn bahwa dukungan sosial teman sebaya memiliki dampak yang positif terhadap ketahanan psikologis remaja dalam menghadapi konflik
