Abstract

Lebong is the district with the third-highest stunting rate in Bengkulu Province. Family characteristics, especially the mother, can affect the incidence of stunting in children. This study aims to determine the relationship between family characteristics and the incidence of stunting in the Lebong Regency, Bengkulu Province. The study used a case-control approach with a population of all children under five in the Lebong Regency. Sampling using purposive sampling technique obtained as many as 116 people (58 cases and 58 controls). Data were collected using a questionnaire that had passed the validity and reliability test stages. Furthermore, the collected data were analyzed by univariate, bivariate and multivariate (multiple linear regression analysis). Family characteristics, most of the mothers married at the age of 21 years (58.6%), pregnant at the age of 21-35 years (72.4%), Parity (82.8%), Types of Contraceptives IUDs and Injections (90.5% ) Mother's education graduated from high school (51.70%), education graduated from high school (51.70%). The employment of housewives (60.30%) and the number of family members is 2-4 people (81.90%). There is a relationship between maternal age at marriage, gestational age and maternal education with the incidence of stunting in the Lebong Regency. Mother's education is the most dominant factor associated with the incidence of stunting. Stunting prevention can be done by increasing maternal education or providing education to mothers with low education.  Abstrak: Lebong merupakan kabupaten dengan angka stunting tertinggi ketiga di Provinsi Bengkulu. Karakteristik keluarga terutama ibu dapat berpengaruh terhadap kejadian stunting pada anak. Untuk mengetahui hubungan karakteristik keluarga dengan kejadian stunting di Kabupaten Lebong Provinsi Bengkulu. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kasus control dengan populasi seluruh balita di Kabupaten Lebong. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, diperoleh sebanyak 116 orang (58 kasus dan 58 kontrol). Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner yang sudah melewati tahap uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Selanjutnya data yang terkumpul dianalisis univariat, bivariat dan multivariat (analisis regresi linier berganda). Karakteristik keluarga sebagian besar ibu menikah pada usia ? 21 tahun (58,6%), hamil pada usia 21-35 tahun (72,4%), Paritas (82,8%), Jenis Kontrasepsi IUD dan Suntik (90,5%) Pendidikan Ibu tamat SMA (51,70%),  Pekerjaan Ibu Rumah Tangga (60,30%) dan Jumlah anggota keluarga 2-4 orang (81,90%). Terdapat hubungan antara usia ibu menikah, usia hamil dan Pendidikan ibu dengan kejadian stunting di Kabupaten Lebong. Pendidikan ibu merupakan faktor yang paling dominan berhubungan dengan kejadian stunting. Pencegahan stunting bisa dilakukan dengan meningkatkan Pendidikan ibu atau memberikan edukasi pada ibu yang berpendidikan rendah.

Abstract

Background: COVID-19 continues to be a global threat. Indonesia has the highest COVID-19 in ASEAN. Objective: This study aimed to analyze COVID-19 cases according to epidemiological and demographic characteristics in South Bengkulu Regency, Indonesia. Methods: This research used quantitative methods with a case-control approach. A sample of 326 people was included as secondary data obtained from the Regional General Hospital of South Bengkulu Regency, Indonesia. The sampling technique uses consecutive sampling. Data (age, gender, education) from medical records in hospitals and epidemiological data (contact records with patients, travel records, and social contact records) were measured using questionnaires validated online (Google form). Chi-square and multiple regression logistics were used for data analysis. Result: Most groups infected with COVID-19 were in the risk age range (46.6%), men (51.2%), low education (48.2%), had a record of contact with patients (54.6%), had a travel record (53.7%), had a record of social contact (51.5%) and had the highest comorbidities such as tuberculosis (36.2%). There were significant relationships between age (p = 0.004), sex (p = 0.002, OR= 2.054), history of contact with the patient (p = 0.001, OR= 2.120), travel history (p = 0.003, OR= 1.959), social contact history (p = 0.003, OR = 2.003), and comorbidities type (p = 0.017) with the incidence of COVID-19. The dominant factor associated with COVID-19 was the record of social contact (p = 0.032, OR = 1.724). Conclusion: The study findings can be used to increase public knowledge about COVID-19 prevention and mitigation efforts as one of the strategies to reduce the risk of COVID-19 events.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman anak-anak dan ibu binaan di Rumah Singgah Al Ma'un, Kota Bengkulu, tentang puasa sehat dari sudut pandang fiqih dan sains. Metode yang digunakan melibatkan penyuluhan, ceramah, tanya jawab, dan pelatihan. Kegiatan ini ditargetkan pada anak-anak dan ibu binaan di rumah singgah tersebut, dengan fokus pada bulan April. Tahapan kegiatan mencakup persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Hasilnya menunjukkan antusiasme anak-anak dan ibu dalam mengikuti kegiatan ini, serta peningkatan pemahaman mereka tentang puasa sehat. Harapan dari kegiatan ini adalah menerapkan puasa sehat secara konsisten baik dari aspek fiqih maupun sains. Healthy Fasting Education in the Perspective of Fiqh and Science at the Al Ma'un Halfway House This activity aims to increase the understanding of children and assisted mothers at Al Ma'un Halfway House, Bengkulu City, about healthy fasting from the perspective of jurisprudence and science. The methods used involve counseling, lectures, questions and answers, and training. This activity is targeted at children and mothers assisted in the halfway house, with a focus on April. Activity stages include preparation, implementation and evaluation. The results show the enthusiasm of children and mothers in participating in this activity, as well as an increase in their understanding of healthy fasting. The hope of this activity is to implement healthy fasting consistently both from the aspects of jurisprudence and science.

Abstract

Problem: Children are one of Indonesia's future human resource assets that should receive more attention, especially those who are experiencing a period of growth and development, so they need adequate food consumption with balanced nutrition because strong, healthy, and intelligent children are a determinant of the nation's sustainability. Nutritional status is a measure of success in fulfilling nutrition for children. Research Objectives: This study aims to determine the nutritional status of school children at MI Darussalam, Bengkulu City. Research Methods: This study used a descriptive survey with a cross-sectional design. The population of this study was 131 students, with a total sample of 57 respondents. Then, the collection of data on nutritional status was carried out by weighing the weight using a stamping scale and measuring the height using a microtoise. Results: Assessment of children's nutritional status was carried out by calculating BMI (weight/height), and the results obtained were 43 respondents (75.4%) with good nutritional status, 5 (five) respondents (8.7%) with poor nutritional status, 7 (seven) respondents (12.2%) ) with more nutritional status and 2 (two) respondents (3.5%) with obesity. Conclusion: Malnutrition, overnutrition, and obesity are still found in children at MI Darussalam, Bengkulu City.
