Abstract

The objective of this research is to study the added value of mi segar, mi basah, bihun, and soun agroindustries. Research was conducted in Bandar Lampung and Metro as centres of  mi segar, mi basah, bihun, and soun agroindustries in Lampung Province.  All of the mi segar, mi basah, bihun, and soun agroindustries in that area were taken as respondents. The result of the study shows that all of mi segar, mi basah, bihun, and soun agroindustries give a positif added value.  The largest added value is given by mi basah agroindustry.  The margin value of capital and management for mi segar and mi basah agroindustries is larger than the margin value of labour, so that the mi segar and mi basah agroindustries are capital intensive.  On the other hand, the margin value of labour for bihun and soun agro industries is larger than the margin value of capital and management, so that the bihun and soun agro industries are labor intensive.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to assess: (1) financial feasibility of sengon agribusiness of people, (2) sensitivity of financial feasibility, (3) prospects for the development of sengon agribusiness of people. This research was conducted in the Kedaung and Sumber Agung village, Kemiling Subdistrict, Bandar Lampung City were selected purposively. Respondents taken a census of 16 people who are farmers of sengon people. The first aim was analyzed using several criteria for measuring investment feasibility. The second aim was analyzed using sensitivity analysis with possibility of decline in production sengon of 11.15%, decrease in selling prices of timber sengon of 17.24%, and increase in production costs by 30%. The third aim assessed by quantitative descriptive and qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that: (1) farm sengon is financially feasible to cultivated indicated by the value of NPV Rp97.068.096,99, IRR of 76.96% is greater than the interest rate used is 19.25%, Gross B/C 4.26, Net B/C of 4.81 and PP for 5 years 8 months of age economical business for 6 years, (2) sengon farming is still feasible to decrease production by 11, 15%, decrease in selling prices of timber sengon by 17.24%, and the increase in production costs by 30%, (3) prospects for the development of highly prospective of sengon agribusiness of people or good to be developed. Abstract

The purpose of this research are: (1) analyze the cooperative’s economic advantage for members, (2) analyze the cooperative’s non economic advantage for members. This research was taken at ISM Mitra Karya Bahari Cooperative in Kota Karang East Teluk Betung Bandar Lampung city which has been chosen purposively. Data of this research was collected on February 2015 – March 2015 using survey method. Total respondents were 50 members of cooperative, consist of fish processor, product derived processor, fishermen and labor. Respondents were taken by simple random sampling method. Data was analyzed descriptively by Importance-Performance Analysis. Result of this research showed that: (1) the economic advantage was received by members in the form of cash, which were net income and economic advantage calculated by the service cost of selling and purchasing. Total average economic advantage of cooperative’s members were product derived processor (Rp400.490,00), fish processor (Rp267.236,84), fishermen (Rp193.668,75) and labors (Rp150.500,00). (2) The non economic advantage which was satisfaction need to be improved. Satisfaction level of the members on RAT service and unit business utilization was on high category (satisfied), but satisfaction level of payment of compulsory savings was on low category (less satisfied). Abstract

This research’s aims are to analyze  preference, patterns of consumption, and factors affecting of tiwul’s demand by consumers at food stall in Lampung Province. The study was conducted in South Lampung District and West Tulang Bawang District. There were four food stalls located at Dayasakti Village, Pulung Kencana Village, and Sidomulyo Village. Food stall sells tiwul as the main menu. There were 60 respondents in this study that was taken by accidental sampling. Data collection was carried out in February - June 2014. The method of analysis in this study is descriptive quantitative and verification analysis. The results showed that preference of tiwul by consumers at food stall in Lampung Province was at medium category. Attributes of tiwul that  wanted by consumers at stall food was low price (≤ Rp5,000), blackish brown color, chewy texture, not strong scent, little taste, and close mileage traveled. Consumption patterns of tiwul was as follows: consumption frequency of once to twice per month, usually consumed pure tiwul by the number of average consumption of 932.52 grams, and the reason for eating tiwul was because of the preference. Factors that significantly affected the demand of tiwul by consumers at food stall in Lampung Province was price of chicken gizzard, price of tempe, and ethnic. The side dish of gizzard chicken was as a complementary good and tempe was as a substitution good. Key words: consumption, demand, preference, tiwul

Abstract

This study aims to determine : 1) The factors affecting the farmer’s decision become farmers group members, 2) The income of members and non-members of goat farmers group, 3) The welfare level of members and non-members of goat farmers group.  This study was conducted in Sungai Langka Village, Gedung Tataan Sub-district, Pesawaran Regency used by survey method.  Respondents were 18 farmers group members and 45 farmers group non-members.  Data collection was carried out in Juli-August 2014.  The data analysis methods were done by qualitative descriptive and quantitative were used by Logit models, income of tabulation, and welfare analysis based on BPS’s criteria (2012).  The results showed that 1) The income and sell price of goat farmers gave possitive effect against of the farmer’s decision become farmers group members, but their experiences gave negative effect, 2) There was differences of the farmer’s average income of goat farming. The income of farmers group members was higher than farmers group non-members, 3) The farmers group members and non-members classified as rich household. Abstract

The purposes of this research were to determine value addedand analyze the feasibility of cassava solid waste (“onggok”) processing business.This research was conducted in Pekalongan District,East Lampung Regency in which in two businesses of medium-scale processor and small-scale processor were chosen purposely based on the criteria of MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises).The primary data was analyzed by calculating the value-added, NPV, IRR, gross B/C ratio, net B/C ratio, and payback period.  In addition, the sensitivity analysis was done based on the possibility of cost increase, price reduction, and production decrease.The results showed that the small-scale processorgave larger value-addedthan the medium-scale. Based on market, social, and environmental as well as financial aspects, cassava solid waste processors were profitable and feasible to be developed. These businesses were sensitive to the increase in production cost and the decrease in production.Key words : added value, cassava solid waste, feasibility of bussiness

Abstract

This research aims to determine: the amount and effect of membership status on the income of fisherman, the amount of economic benefits, and the amount and effect of membership status on the income of fisherman’s household. This research was conducted in Pasaran Island which most people are fishermen.  The number of cooperative member respondents was 35 people, while the number of non-cooperative member respondents was 30 people.  This research was conducted by survey method and the data was analyzed by income analysis and simple linear regression analysis.  The result showed that the income of catch fish business had different amount in different seasons. The income of fisherman's cooperative members was higher than non-fisherman's cooperative members because of the significant effect on membership status to fisherman's household income. The average household income of fisherman members from economic benefits cash value was Rp90,000.00 per year and the average household income of fisherman members from economic benefit calculated value was Rp1,035,637.14 per year. The total household income of cooperative members was Rp31,752,000.00 per year, this was higher than non-cooperative members which was Rp23,226,426.67 per year. Therefore, membership status had significant effect on fisherman's household income. Key words: economic benefit of cooperative, income, membership status

Abstract

The purpose for this research is to know the implementation partnership in broiler chicken farming with contract agreement and verbal agreement, to analyze the competitiveness broiler chicken farming and to analyze sensitivity of competitiveness due to changes in price of input and output.  The data was analyzed by descriptive qualitative using PAM (Policy Analysis Matrix) analysis model and elasticity.  The result showed that private profit of autonomous pattern was Rp2,582,549 and social profit was Rp2,740,642 per 1,000 birds. Private profit of partnership pattern with contract agreement was Rp707,381 and social profit was Rp3,898.950.  Private profit of partnership pattern with verbal agreement was Rp845,200 and social profit was Rp1,491,519.  Based on the analysis competitiveness, it showed that broiler chicken farm in South Lampung Regency had competitive and comparative advantages, in which PCR and DRCR value 0.38; 0,37 (autonomous pattern), 0.75; 0,35 (contract agreement pattern) and 0.69;0,56 (verbal agreement pattern). Elasticity value showed that competitiveness of broiler chicken farming in South Lampung Regency was sensitive with the price of broiler chicken and also price of broiler feed.Key words: Broiler chicken, competitiveness, PAM (Policy Analysis Matrix)

Abstract

This research aims to analyze:  cooperative’s performance as business entities,  cooperative’s contribution towards development, the economic advantage of cooperative for members, the non economic advantages (satisfaction) of cooperative members.  This research uses a case study method and the research location at “Serba Usaha Peternak Motivasi Do’a Ikhtiar Tawakkal” Cooperative (KSUP MDIT) in Tanggamus District, Lampung.  Total respondents were 55 members of the cooperative taken by using simple random sampling and consisted of members with the ownership of 0-5 goats, 6-10goats, and 11-15 goats.  Data were analyzed by using descriptive analysis and Importance Performance Analysis method.  The results showed that: business entities performance of KSUP MDIT included into quality category.  The KSUP MDIT hasn’t given maximal contribution towards the development. The more cattle that members of the cooperative have, the more the economic advantages they get. Non economic advantages (satisfactions) of members with service performance and fulfilment of member’s needs were in high category.Key words: advantage, cooperative, goat’s cattle, satisfaction
