Abstract

The objective of this research is to study the added value of mi segar, mi basah, bihun, and soun agroindustries. Research was conducted in Bandar Lampung and Metro as centres of  mi segar, mi basah, bihun, and soun agroindustries in Lampung Province.  All of the mi segar, mi basah, bihun, and soun agroindustries in that area were taken as respondents. The result of the study shows that all of mi segar, mi basah, bihun, and soun agroindustries give a positif added value.  The largest added value is given by mi basah agroindustry.  The margin value of capital and management for mi segar and mi basah agroindustries is larger than the margin value of labour, so that the mi segar and mi basah agroindustries are capital intensive.  On the other hand, the margin value of labour for bihun and soun agro industries is larger than the margin value of capital and management, so that the bihun and soun agro industries are labor intensive.

Abstract

Abstract

This research’s aims are to analyze  preference, patterns of consumption, and factors affecting of tiwul’s demand by consumers at food stall in Lampung Province. The study was conducted in South Lampung District and West Tulang Bawang District. There were four food stalls located at Dayasakti Village, Pulung Kencana Village, and Sidomulyo Village. Food stall sells tiwul as the main menu. There were 60 respondents in this study that was taken by accidental sampling. Data collection was carried out in February - June 2014. The method of analysis in this study is descriptive quantitative and verification analysis. The results showed that preference of tiwul by consumers at food stall in Lampung Province was at medium category. Attributes of tiwul that  wanted by consumers at stall food was low price (≤ Rp5,000), blackish brown color, chewy texture, not strong scent, little taste, and close mileage traveled. Consumption patterns of tiwul was as follows: consumption frequency of once to twice per month, usually consumed pure tiwul by the number of average consumption of 932.52 grams, and the reason for eating tiwul was because of the preference. Factors that significantly affected the demand of tiwul by consumers at food stall in Lampung Province was price of chicken gizzard, price of tempe, and ethnic. The side dish of gizzard chicken was as a complementary good and tempe was as a substitution good. Key words: consumption, demand, preference, tiwul

Abstract

This research aims to determine: the amount and effect of membership status on the income of fisherman, the amount of economic benefits, and the amount and effect of membership status on the income of fisherman’s household. This research was conducted in Pasaran Island which most people are fishermen.  The number of cooperative member respondents was 35 people, while the number of non-cooperative member respondents was 30 people.  This research was conducted by survey method and the data was analyzed by income analysis and simple linear regression analysis.  The result showed that the income of catch fish business had different amount in different seasons. The income of fisherman's cooperative members was higher than non-fisherman's cooperative members because of the significant effect on membership status to fisherman's household income. The average household income of fisherman members from economic benefits cash value was Rp90,000.00 per year and the average household income of fisherman members from economic benefit calculated value was Rp1,035,637.14 per year. The total household income of cooperative members was Rp31,752,000.00 per year, this was higher than non-cooperative members which was Rp23,226,426.67 per year. Abstract

The purpose for this research is to know the implementation partnership in broiler chicken farming with contract agreement and verbal agreement, to analyze the competitiveness broiler chicken farming and to analyze sensitivity of competitiveness due to changes in price of input and output.  The data was analyzed by descriptive qualitative using PAM (Policy Analysis Matrix) analysis model and elasticity.  The result showed that private profit of autonomous pattern was Rp2,582,549 and social profit was Rp2,740,642 per 1,000 birds. Private profit of partnership pattern with contract agreement was Rp707,381 and social profit was Rp3,898.950.  Private profit of partnership pattern with verbal agreement was Rp845,200 and social profit was Rp1,491,519.  Based on the analysis competitiveness, it showed that broiler chicken farm in South Lampung Regency had competitive and comparative advantages, in which PCR and DRCR value 0.38; 0,37 (autonomous pattern), 0.75; 0,35 (contract agreement pattern) and 0.69;0,56 (verbal agreement pattern). Elasticity value showed that competitiveness of broiler chicken farming in South Lampung Regency was sensitive with the price of broiler chicken and also price of broiler feed.Key words: Broiler chicken, competitiveness, PAM (Policy Analysis Matrix)

Abstract

This research aimed to study the owners understanding of marketing strategy of tapioca vermicelli, analyze the implementation of marketing strategy that has been done, and know the accessibility of consumers to obtain tapioca vermicelli.  This research used a case study method at Sinar Harapan (SH) and Bintang Obor (BO) Agroindustries. Respondents were the owners of agroindustries, distributors, and consumers of tapioca vermicelli.  Research data was analyzed by a descriptive statistical analysis (level of understanding through an all-round management approach and accessibility of consumers) and qualitative descriptive (the realization of marketing strategy that has been done).  The results showed that tapioca vermicelli’s producers at Metro City were quite understood the marketing strategy, but their implementation were not in accordance with their understanding.  The owner of BO considered more understood the importance of marketing strategy compared to the owner of SH.  The implementation of marketing strategy by SH and BO producers were almost the same.  The difference of these two agroindustries were that the BO implemented the price reserve strategy while SH did not.  Accessibility of consumers to obtained tapioca vermicelli was easy.Key words: accessibility, marketing strategy, tapioca vermicelli

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to determine the level of income and profits of organic rice farming SL-PTT participants, determine the level of household income SL-PTT participants, determine the level of welfare household SL-PTT participants in the District of Pagelaran of Pringsewu Regency. This research was conducted in Pagelaran and Gemah Ripah villages of Pagelaran District. The research samples were drawn from the population by simple random design.  The total samples were 77 farmers consisted of 37 SL-PTT participants and 40 SL-PTT non-participants. The data was analyzed by farm income analysis, household income analysis and welfare analysis based on Sajogyo’s criteria (1997). The results showed that the average of income SL-PTT participants based on cash costs and total cost were Rp11,510,16.35 dan Rp13,047,112.84 and acceptance ratios obtained by cost (R/C ratio) in cash and in total were 4.69 and 3.27.  Average income of SL-PTT non participants based on cash costs and total cost were Rp9,803,268.59 and Rp8,418,819.09 and acceptance ratios obtained by cost (R/C ratio) and total cash were 3.7 and 2.68.  Averages household income of SL-PTT participants was Rp39,174,915.54 per year. Averages household income of SL-PTT non-participants was Rp36,978,219 per year. Based on Sajogyo’s criteria, there was one of household SL-PTT paricipant that was classified as moderate household and  three of household SL-PTT non participants were classified as moderate household. Abstract

This research aims to analyze the raw material procurement system based on the elements of raw materials, the performance of production, income and added value associated with the processing activities, marketing mix and distribution channel in product marketing activities, and the role of support services. The research method used was a case study method on three “tahu kulit” agro-industries in Gunung Sulah Urban Village, Way Halim Sub-district, Bandar Lampung City. The location of research was determined purposively with the consideration that the Gunung Sulah Urban Village was the center of “tahu kulit” production in Bandar Lampung.  Research was conducted in February - March 2017 and data analysis method used in this research was qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis.  The results showed that the procurement of raw materials in the three agro-industries was in accordance with the elements of procurement of raw materials.  The production performance of the three agro-industries had not been good because it had not fulfilled the productivity and flexibility components. Revenues of the three agro-industries were good because the values of R / C ratio were more than 1 and processing of these three agro-industries adds positive value.  Three agro-industries had implemented a marketing mix and there are two channels in marketing activities of “tahu kulit” product. Abstract

Transaction costs arise as a result of uncertainty in the transaction environment. Vertical integration of farmers in an institution will reduce uncertainty and will reduce transaction costs. Transaction costs will affect income and will ultimately affect the level of welfare.  The objective of this research is to compare the transaction costs, income, and welfare between plasma palm oil farmers and independent palm oil farmers. This research used a quantitative research approach with survey method. The research was conducted in Penawartama and Aji Baru sub district, Tulang Bawang Regency. The research location was chosen purposively with the consideration of sub district are the center of palm oil smallholdings. Data collection techniques were used household survey with simple random sampling. Sample size is 152 farmers consisting of 76 plasma farmers and 76 independent farmers. The transaction costs paid by plasma farmers is smaller thanthose paid by independent farmers. Income per hectare of plasma smallholder is higher than the income of the independent smallholder. Even though, palm oil farmers in Tulang Bawang Regency, both plasma and independent farmers are in the prosperous category.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze marketing mix that consists of agroindustry?s owner and coffee powder consumer pespective, agroindustry risk, risk management of ISO 31000: 2009, and financial ratio of agroindustry. This research is a case study method at coffee powder agroindustry in Kotabumi City Sub-District, North Lampung Regency. Data of this research were collected in December 2018 until February 2019. The results show that marketing strategy of agroindustry has used the 7P marketing mix component, which the product, place, price, process, people,and physical evidence are good, while for the promotion component, it has not been used optimally. Agroindustry risk consisting of production risk, price risk, and income risk shows the low value of risk. Agroindustry has well applied Management Risk of ISO 31000: 2009 which is based on operational risk that consist of process risk, people risk, and incidental risk. Financial ratio consisting of current ratio, debt to equity ratio, total asset turn over, and net profit margin shows a bad financial performance in 3 years production.Key words: agroindustry, coffee powder, financial ratio, marketing mix, risk
