Abstract

Telah dilakukan sintesis senyawa baru dengan reaksi klorinasi vanilin yang bertujuan untuk menghasilkan vanilin terklorinasi sebagai bahan dasar dalam sintesis analog kurkumin dengan substituen –Cl pada inti aromatiknya. Senyawa ini telah dilakukan elusidasi strukturnya. Reaksi klorinasi vanilin dilakukan dengan gas Cl2, yang merupakan hasil reaksi dari kaporit dengan asam klorida pekat. Reaksi ini berlangsung pada temperatur 35ºC selama 30 menit dalam katalis AlCl3 dan digunakan THF sebagai pelarut. Kemurnian senyawa hasil sintesis ditentukan berdasarkan titik leburnya serta kromatografi lapis tipis. Identifikasi struktur senyawa hasil sintesis dilakukan menggunakan teknik spektrometri, meliputi spektra UV–Vis, spektra inframerah (cm-1, KBr) dan spektra resonansi megnetik inti proton (_, ppm, DMSO–d6, 1H–NMR, 500 MHz). Reaksi klorinasi vanilin menghasilkan 4–hidroksi–5–kloro–3–metoksibenzaldehid yang berwarna kuning, dengan titik lebur 163,3–164,8ºC. Rendemen rata–rata yang dihasilkan sebesar 40,54 %.

Abstract

Bioactivity herbal plant is influenced by its active compounds and consistency. Stevia rebaudiana contains bioactive compounds, diterpene glycosides which have antidiabetes activity. The goal of this study was to develop fingerprints analysis of S. rebaudiana based on High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) chromatogram. S. rebaudina leaves were taken from different planting area, leave ages, and seeds source. S. rebaudiana leaves were analyzed using isocratic Reversed Phase High Performance Liquid Chromatography (RP-HPLC). Fingerprints analysis of S. rebaudiana was done using chemometrics of Hierarchical Cluster Analysis (HCA) and Principal Component Analysis (PCA). Peak marker “common peak” were identify using Cluster Observation in HCA analysis at each peaks retention time formed in chromatogram. Retention times giving similarity value more than 0,90 were identified as “common peak”. HCA analysis resulted in 5 “common peak” identification as peaks marker particularly at peak no 1, 2, 4, 6 and 7. HCA analysis was also clustered samples into 3 main cluster. PCA analysis was optimized by calculated peak area whose N > 2000 particularly peak no 4, 6, and 7. PCA analysis result can be used to classify chromatogram based on original seeds, planting area and leave ages. Fingerprints analysis developed can be used an alternative method for quality control of S. rebaudiana herbal plants based on its bioactive compounds systemic characteristics.

Abstract

Hackers are computer experts having competence in both programming and technology information languages. This study aims to examine hacking jargon derived from the standard language. It uses words, phrases, and clauses in the English language as the data, collected from the movie transcription. It applies distributional method and descriptive qualitative technique to analyze the data. The results show that the hacking jargons are standard language which have been shifted in meaning. The meaning shift demonstrates relations between the lexical and additional meanings, i.e. correlated meaning, uncorrelated meaning, and new meaning.

Abstract

As  functional  food  oil,  red  fruit  (Pandanus  conoideus  Lam)  oil  has  been  believed  by  local community  to  threat  several  degenerative  diseases  like  cancer.  Red  fruit  oil  (RFO)  has commanded high price value in Indonesian market. Therefore, the objective of the present study was to  investigate several physico-chemical properties of RFO. Some parameters of RFO  obtained  from  hexane  and  chloroform  fractions  have  been  evaluated.  Such parameters include acid value, saponification value, anisidine value, conjugated dienes and trienes as well as p-anisidine value. Besides, absorptivity coefficient, fatty acid composition, and volatile compounds were also determined. Acid value and saponification value of RFO from chloroform fraction were higher than those in RFO from hexane fraction. In addition, RFO  in hexane  fraction has  the higher  iodine and anisidine values  than  that  in chloroform fraction. Hexane  is  the  best  solvent  to  be  used  for  analysis  of  RFO,  as  indicated  by  the highest  absorptivity  coefficient  of RFO  in hexane.  The main  fatty  acid  composed  of RFO was oleic acid  followed with palmitic acid. The main volatile compound present  in RFO of hexane and chloroform fractions was 9-octadecenoic acid accounting of 41.57 % and 65.06 %, respectively.

Abstract

Cervical cancer is a type of cancer possessing the 3rd highest incidence among women worldwide. Todays therapies against cancer are still ineffective, thus people are seeking for alternative method. Erythrina fusca Lour. has been used traditionally as anticancer. This experiment is conducted to study the ability of chloroform extract of E.fusca Lour. leaves and its isolates on HeLa cervical cancer cells. The cytotoxicity assay and doubling time assay were done using direct counting method, while the DNA staining assay was done using acrydine orange. The chloroform extract and isolate #30 showed cytotoxic activity with IC50 of 16 and 5 μg/ml, respectively, while isolate #2 and isolate #8 didnt. The effluent #30 could not affect HeLa cells growth at the given concentration, but it might promote DNA fragmentation indicating apoptosis induction. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1. Mengetahui aktor dalam pemasaran sayuran, 2. Menganalisi unsur-unsur dan proses terbentuknya modal sosial. 3.  Menganalisi peran modal sosial dalam pemasaran sayuran. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik analisa data dalam penelitian ini adalah model interaktif. Hasil penelitian ini adalah : 1. Aktor-aktor yang terlibat dalam aktivitas pemasaran sayuran adalah Pedagang Pengepul tingkat desa, Pedagang pengepul besar, Pedagang pengepul besar untuk pasar pedagang supplier Supermarket, Pedagang supplier  Supermaket, Pedagang pengecer, dan Pekerja. 2. Unsur-unsur  modal sosail: kepercayaan, jaringan sosial, dan norma sosial.  Proses terbentuknya modal sosial dapat dibedakan menjadi dua yaitu : 1. Modal sosial pedagang dengan pekerja dan petani merupakan modal sosial yang tumbuh dari hubungan tetangga dan saudara. 2. Modal sosial pedagang dengan pedagang lain adalah sebuah proses interaksi yang terus menerus.3. Peran dari modal sosial dalam usaha pemasaran sayuran yaitu:1. Memudahkan pedagang dalam mendapatkan sayura melalui ikatan dengan petani dan pedagang pengepul tingkat desa. 2. Dalam pengelolan tenaga kerja akan lebih efisian tanpa diperlukan pengawasa. 3. Memperkecil biaya pemasaran dan juga memberikan jaminan padagang untuk produk yang pedagang jual. Kata Kunci: Modal Sosial, Pemasaran Sayuran,  jaringa sosial, kepercayaan dan norma.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian terdahulu menyimpulkan bahwa marmin (7-(6’,7’-dihidroksigeranil-oksi) kumarin) dapat menghambat kontraksi otot polos trakea marmut terisolasi melalui efeknya sebagai antagonis reseptor H1 dan Ach-M3. Marmin juga sedikit meningkatkan efek relaksasi otot polos trakea yang diinduksi oleh isoproterenol melalui interaksinya terhadap reseptor β2-adrenergik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efek reversibelitas interaksi marmin terhadap reseptor H1, Ach-M3 dan β2-adrenergik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode percobaan organ terisolasi. Uji reversibilitas dilakukan setelah perlakuan marmin (10 dan 100 μM) terhadap kontraksi/relaksasi otot polos trakea yang diinduksi oleh agonis (histamin, metakolin dan isoproterenol). Otot polos trakea dicuci selama 30 menit dengan penggantian larutan bufer Krebs setiap lima menit. Setelah dicapai kondisi yang stabil, selanjutnya dilakukan pengukuran kontraksi atau relaksasi kembali dengan pemberian konsentrasi bertingkat histamin (10-8 – 10-3) M, metakolin (10-8 – 10-3) M dan isoproterenol (1 x 10-7 – 3 x 10-3 M). Data disajikan dalam bentuk nilai pD2 (rata-rata ± SEM) yang diperoleh dari kurva hubungan negatif logaritma konsentrasi agonis yang menghasilkan setengah respon (kontraksi/relaksasi) maksimal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interaksi marmin terhadap protein reseptor H1, Ach-M3, dan β2-adrenergik otot polos trakea bersifat reversibel. Hasil analisis varian satu jalan menyimpulkan perbedaan nilai pD2 histamin, metakolin dan isoproterenol sebelum dan setelah perlakuan marmin tidak bermakna secara statistik (p>0,05). The purpose of this experimental study was to evaluate the reversibility of marmin interaction on H1, Ach-M3 and β2-adrenergic receptors.The study conducted using in vitro isolated-trachea experimental. Reversibility studies performed after marmin (10 and 100) μM treatment on tracheal smooth muscle contraction/relaxation induced by agonists (histamine, methacholine and isoproterenol). Trachea was washed for 30minuteswith Krebs buffer solution replacement every five minutes. Furthermore, trachea contracted or relaxed with series histamine (10-8 – 10-3) M; methacholine (10-8 – 10-3) M and isoproterenol (10-7 – 3.10-3) M. Data were expressed as mean±SEM. The pD2values are derived from the negative logarithm to base 10 of the agonist's concentration which cause a half maximal response to the contraction or relaxation.The results showed that the marmin interaction on H1, Ach-M3, and β2-adrenergic receptors are reversible. One-way Anova concluded that histamine, metacholine and isoproterenol pD2 value before and after marmin (10 and 100) μM treatments are not different statistically (p>0.05). Abstract

The study aims to describe the violations by the students of the 2014 initiation at UMS and identify their solutions by the activity coordinators and line coordinators. The primary data included the verbal abuse by the coordinators, committees, and students’ responses to the 2014 Academic Program Activity of Teacher and Training Education Faculty - UMS. The secondary data included the non-verbal (physical) abuse obtained from observation and interview. The data were collected through observation, inter-view and written documentation which include the results of the verbal and non-verbal strictness observation, summary of the initiation program and its regulation, and photos. The data validity used was data and data source triangulation. The data were analyzed using case study technique. The results of the study showed that there were some violations by the students during the initiation program as follows: (1) smoking a cigarette, (2) wearing a short skirt for the female, (3) wearing a transparent and tight cloth for the female, (4) not wearing a complete attribute, (5) speaking unethically or using four lette-words, (6) having a long hair beyond the ears, and (7) coming late. The solutions to the violations seemed that the line coordinators tended to permit them and they did not give any punishment so that the students kept on behaving badly. Some students thought that the team of the line coordinators were linient, particularly in giving punishment to the students who violated the regulations of the initiation program.

Abstract

Murraya paniculata [L.] Jack. merupakan tanaman yang tumbuh di Indonesia, dikenal dengan nama Kemuning. Penelitian mengenai tanaman ini telah banyak dilakukan, terutama isolasi senyawa aktifnya. Tanaman ini mempunyai kandungan senyawa aktif, diantaranya senyawa turunan flavonoid. Pada penelitian, tiga senyawa flavonoid yang diisolasi dari M. paniculata diuji aktivitasnya terhadap pelepasan histamin dari kultur sel mast yaitu sel RBL-2H3. Ketiga senyawa tersebut adalah 3,3’,4’,5,5’,7–heksametoksiflavon; 3,3’,4’,5,5’,6,7-heptametoksiflavon; dan 3,3’,4’,5,5’,6,7,8-oktametoksiflavon. Induktor pelepasan histamin yang digunakan adalah DNP24-BSA dan thapsigargin. Keduanya berturut-turut menginduksi secara imunologis dan non-imunologis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa senyawa heptametoksiflavon dan heksametoksiflavon cenderung tidak mempengaruhi pelepasan histamin dari sel mast. Namun, oktametoksiflavon dapat meningkatkan pelepasan histamin dari sel mast baik tanpa induksi maupun terinduksi dengan DNP24-BSA atau thapsigargin. Senyawa tersebut mampun meningkatkan pelepasan histamin hingga 50%. Dari hasil tersebut, penambahan gugus polimetoksi pada struktur flavonoid berpotensi dapat menghasilkan efek pelepasan histamin dari sel mast.
