Abstract

This study originated from unrest author of the erosion of understanding the values of local wisdom of the students due to the distortion values of Javanese philosophy which has implications on the deterioration of character of the nation, therefore replanting Values of Javanese Philosophy in learning is especially important in learning IPS. Prior to actualize these values first educators should get a correct understanding of the meaning contained in the philosophy of Java. Therefore in this study the researchers conducted the interpretation of the book "Pitutur Luhur Budaya Jawa" by using heuristic and hermeneutic analysis model so that can know the meaning contained in it properly. This study aimed to explore the content of the values in the Javanese philosophy, character education and its relevance to search for what values are worth to be rebuild in social studies learning. Based on these results it can be seen that there are many good values contained in the book "Pitutur Luhur Budaya Jawa" is still relevant and in line with the eighteen values of character education that disseminated by the government, because they both contain the teaching of manners include honesty, trustworthy, discipline, courtesy, neatness, sincerity, wisdom, self-control, courage, friendship, loyalty, honor and justice. Those values are reflected in hamemayu hayuning bawana, sepi ing pamrih rame ing gawe, alon-alon waton kelakon, mangan ora mangan waton ngumpul, Aja ketungkul marang kalungguhan kadonyan lan kemareman, aja sira deksura, and Aja waton ngomong ning ngomonga nganggo waton.There are some decent character value actualized in social studies lesson although not on the list of eighteen value character because these values are universal can apply to anybody and anywhere. Those values include the patient, neriman, rila, alert, selfless, conscious process and ensure harmony. Actualization of these values can be an answer to the problems that hit the nation's character because of these values is a bridge for people in ngudi kawicaksanan lan ngudi kasampurnaning urip. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan : (1) muatan nilai-nilai karakter yang terdapat pada tujuan, uraian materi, soal latihan/penugasan, dan uji kompetensi (2) relevansi/konsistensi nilai-nilai karakter antara fokus pengembangan nilai-nilai karakter dengan bagian-bagian buku yang terdapat pada buku teks pelajaran ilmu pengetahuan sosial terpadu kelas II sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan rancangan analisis konten yang dilaksanakan melalui tiga tahap analisis (1) analisis pra lapangan (2) analisis selama di lapangan; yaitu (a) reduksi data; (b) pengumpulan data; (c) penentuan sampel; (d) pencatatan; (e) penarikan kesimpulan; dan (f) mendeskripsikan hasil penelitian (3) analisis selesai di lapangan; yaitu (a) analisis domain (b) analisis taksonomi (c) analisis komponensial (d) analisis tema. Untuk pengecekan temuan dilakukan dengan cara : (1) perpanjangan keikutsertaan, (2) ketekunan pengamatan (3) triagulasi (4) pengecekan sejawat (5) kajian kasus negatif (6) pengecekan anggoota (7) uraian rinci (8) audit kebergantungan. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah Buku Teks Pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial Terpadu Kelas II Sekolah Dasar terbitan Erlangga Karya Tim Bina Karya Guru yang terdiri dari enam bab, sedangkan obyeknya adalah muatan nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam seluruh bagian buku. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan rubrik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) buku teks pelajaran IPS terpadu dalam setiap bab mengandung muatan nilai-nilai karakter dengan jumlah yang bervariasi dan persebaran kurang merata, bahkan nilai karakter tersebut ada yang tidak muncul (2) ditemukan nilai-nilai karakter yang tidak sesuai dengan UU no 20 tahun 2003; (3) teknik penyajian nilai-nilai karakter yang relevan/konsisten dan tidak relevan/konsisten antara fokus pengembangan nilai-nilai karakter dengan bagian-bagian buku dengan cara: (a) pengungkapan dan pengintegrasian nilai-nilai karakter dengan menggunakan lagu, cerita, dan drama untuk memunculkan nilai-nilai karakter; (c) mengubah hal-hal negatif menjadi positif; serta (d) melakukan praktik lapangan untuk memunculkan nilai-nilai karakter. Abstract

The results of observations conducted on the students of Class VI SDN 2 Kalirejo on 7-9 December 2019, showed the lack of learning activities caused by the limited textbooks, the lack of material on textbooks related to student life and teacher-centered learning. So, based on needs analysis, adequate textbooks are needed in line with the number of students whose material is derived from the daily life of students and the application of relevant learning strategies is a must. Efforts made to overcome this is conducting research and development that aims to produce the contextual-based, valid, interesting, practical and effective textbooks of Social Science (IPS). The model used in this research and development was 4D model. The 4D model (Thiagarajan, S., Semmel, DS, & Semmel, MI: 1974)) consists of Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate. Teaching-learning process used contextual approach or Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL). The data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The data was based on the assessment of material and linguists experts were considered valid. The results of product attractiveness test from the questionnaire given to students and teachers showed very interesting criteria. This material was very practical. This was based on the result of observing teacher activities and student learning activities. The product was also considered to fulfill the effective criteria. Based on the results of the analysis, the contextual textbook for Class VI on social science of Primary School was eligible and could be used in the learning process because it had reached the valid, attractive, practical and effective criteria.
