Abstract

This study aimed to investige the gap between teachers' perception and practice of implementing the learning models by biology teachers. This article applied descriptive quantitative research design, with the Learning Models Questionnaire (LMQ) used to collect the data. The research subjects were 78 teachers who are members of Science Subject Teachers’ Meeting (SSTM) and the object of research was the understanding and application of learning models. The results showed that there were three gaps related to the understanding and implementation of the biology learning model. First, there was around 70% of biology teachers stated that they understood learning models, however just only 25% of teachers understood the need for rational selection of models, building reaction systems, providing learning tools, and managing time. Second, teachers have good knowledge of learning models, but less than 35% of teachers implement them in class. Third, teachers have perceptions about the characteristics of the learning model, namely syntax, objectives, and learning tools, but in practice some teachers still do not understand syntax, do not know the purpose of the model being applied, and do not prepare learning tools that support the implementation of the learning model. There are a number of gaps between the understanding and practice of learning models by biology teachers, it is important to follow up as an indication of the teacher's pedagogical competence is still weak in understanding and applying learning models. These insights will impact the development of teachers' understanding of the learning models.

Abstract

Paradigma pendidikan telah berubah menuju pendidikan abad-21 yang dikenal dengan masa pengetahuan (knowledge age). Pendidikan pada masa knowledge age tidak lagi didominasi dengan transfer pengetahuan namun telah diarahkan pada melibatkan siswa untuk mampu membangun dan mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir sehingga mampu mengkonstruksi pengetahuan baru sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan penguasaan terhadap materi pelajaran. Guru abad-21 diharapkan memiliki lebih banyak pengetahuan dan keterampilan untuk menghadapi dan memahami tantangan perubahan masyarakat. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan soft skill dan hard skill guru dalam mengembangkan pembelajaran inovatif berbasis PBL, case based learning (CBL) dan PjbL dalam membangun keterampilan abad-21 siswa. Rencana kegiatan akan dilakukan dalam beberapa fase: (1) pendalaman materi biologi, (2) pembekalan keterampialan merancang pembelajaran PBL, CBL dan PjBL, (3) mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis PBL/CBL atau PjBL, (4) mengimplementasikan pembelajaran berbasis PBL/CBL atau PjBL. Seluruh kegiatan akan dinilai sebagai evakuasi terhadap pelaksanaan kegiatan.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the many applications of Higher Order Thinking Skills-based test instruments in science learning. However, it has not been found how effective the instrument is in science learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Higher Order Thinking Skills-based test instruments in science learning. This type of research is a meta-analysis. Data sources come from the databases of Google Scholar, Hindawi, ScienceDirect, Wiley, Taylor of Francis, Sage Journal, Springer, ProQuest and ERIC. Search keywords are test instruments, test instruments based on Higher Order Thinking Skills in science learning, and higher order thinking skills. This study analyzed 20 articles published in 2020-2023 used in the meta-analysis. Data analysis techniques with the help of JSAP software. The results concluded that the summary effect size value was 1.24 (very high effect size). This finding shows that the use of test instruments based on Higher Order Thinking Skills is effectively applied in science learning. Furthermore, the research provides higher order tinking skills-based test instruments in science learning in Indonesia and provides important information for the application of higher order thinking skills-based test instruments in the future

Abstract

This study was motivated by the desire to know the trend of development models and instruments used in development research.  The purpose of this study was to conduct a comprehensive review of the existing literature on development research in science education. The focus was to identify trends in development models and instruments used in this field. This research is a type of systematic literature review using the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses) method to look at trends in development models and instruments in science education development research. This research uses Scopus, Science Direct and Eric databases. The results of this study are the most widely used development model is the ADDIE development model and questionnaires are the instruments used in all articles analyzed.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the application of the make a match type of cooperative learning model on the learning competence of students. This study uses a systematic review method by reviewing several scientific articles that are relevant to the author's research. The data used in this study were obtained from scientific articles that are relevant to the problems discussed by the author. This data is taken from databases such as SINTA, Google Schoolar, and other relevant journal sites. The variables used in this study were the cooperative learning model of the make a match type (independent variable) and the learning competence of students (dependent variable). The results of this study indicate that the learning competencies (knowledge, attitudes, and skills) of students have increased after the application of the make a match type of cooperative learning model at all school levels starting from elementary, junior high, and high school. Thus, the research results are expected to strengthen and summarize the results of research related to the make a match learning model. The implications of the results of this study can be a consideration for teachers to raise the spirit of learning in students by applying the make a match learning model so that their learning competence will also increase. Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji tentang pengaruh dari penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe make a match terhadap kompetensi belajar peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode systematic review dengan mereview beberapa artikel ilmiah yang relevan dengan penelitian penulis. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari artikel ilmiah yang relevan dengan permasalahan yang dibahas oleh penulis. Data ini diambil dari database seperti SINTA, Google Schoolar, dan situs jurnal lainnya yang relevan. Variabel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe make a match (variabel bebas) dan kompetensi belajar peserta didik (variabel terikat). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi belajar (pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan) peserta didik mengalami peningkatan setelah penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe make a match di semua tingkatan sekolah mulai dari SD, SMP, dan SMA. Jadi model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe make a match ini memberikan pengaruh yang positif terhadap kompetensi belajar peserta didik. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran make a match ini bisa menjadi pertimbangan oleh guru  untuk membangkitkan kembali semangat belajar peserta didik sehingga kompetensi belajarnya juga akan meningkat.

Abstract

The RANDAI learning model is one of the learning models that can be used in biology learning. This model can be applied by using learning media that supports the implementation of the syntax of the learning model, one of which is in the form of a digital book. This study aims to produce an Integrated RANDAI-Based Digital Book on Local Potential on Biodiversity Materials for Class X SMA/MA. This research is a research and development research using the Plomp development model. The subjects in this study were 3 biology lecturers, 1 biology teacher and 31 students. The data obtained in this study are in the form of validity and practicality data. This study resulted in a very valid and practical RANDAI-Based Digital Book Based on Local Potential on Biodiversity Materials for Class X SMA/MA with a validity value of 92.53% meeting the very valid criteria and the practicality value by the teacher with a value of 91.91% meeting the very criteria. practicality and practicality scores by students with a value of 86.93% meet the practical criteria. Key words: Digital Books, RANDAI Learning Model   Abstrak. Model pembelajaran RANDAI adalah salah satu model pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran biologi. Model ini dapat diterapkan dengan menggunakan media pembelajaran yang mendukung pelaksanaan sintaks dari model pembelajaran tersebut, salah satunya dalam bentuk buku digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan Buku Digital Berbasis RANDAI Terintegrasi Potensi Lokal pada Materi Keanekaragaman Hayati untuk Kelas X SMA/MA. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (research and development) dengan menggunakan model pengembangan Plomp. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 3 orang dosen Biologi, 1 orang guru biologi dan 31 orang peserta didik. Data yang didapatkan dalam penelitian ini berupa data validitas dan praktikalitas.  Penelitian ini menghasilkan Buku Digital Berbasis RANDAI Terintegrasi Potensi Lokal pada Materi Keanekaragaman Hayati untuk Kelas X SMA/MA yang sangat valid dan praktis dengan nilai validitas 92,53% memenuhi kriteria sangat valid dan nilai praktikalitas oleh guru dengan nilai 91,91% memenuhi kriteria sangat praktis dan nilai praktikalitas oleh peserta didik dengan nilai 86,93% memenuhi kriteria praktis. Abstract

Measurement of students' creative thinking skills is needed to be able to understand the development of students' creativity and assist teachers in determining the learning model that will be used in order to stimulate students' creative thinking skills. This research is a type of descriptive research that will describe the level of creative thinking skills of students. The purpose of this study was to determine the creative thinking skills of students at SMAN 1 Pariman. The population in the study were all students of class X at SMAN 1 Pariaman in the academic year 2021/2022. The sample was determined using a simple random sampling technique. The instrument used is an observation questionnaire that has been validated. Data analysis in the form of descriptive analysis. The results showed that the creative thinking skills of students were still very low, this was indicated by the percentage gain at the creative thinking skill level T1 (very low) as much as 48.2%, T2 (low) as much as 27.4%, T3 (medium) 12, 9%, T4 (high) 6.7%, and T5 (very high) 4.7%. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the creative thinking ability of students is included in the very low category. Key words: Creative Thinking Skills, biology Abstrak Pengukuran keterampilan berpikir kreatif peserta didik diperlukan untuk dapat memahami perkembangan kreativitas peserta didik dan membantu guru dalam menentukan model pembelajaran yang akan digunakan agar dapat menstimulasi keterampilan berpikir kreatif peserta didik. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskriptif yang akan menggambarkan tingkat keterampilan berpikir kreatif peserta didik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keterampilan berpikir kreatif peserta didik di SMAN 1 Pariman. Populasi dalam penelitian adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas X di SMAN 1 Pariaman tahun pelajaran 2021/2022. Sampel ditentukan dengan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa angket observasi yang telah divalidasi. Analisis data berupa analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan keterampilan berpikir kreatif peserta didik masih sangat rendah, hal ini ditunjukkan dari perolehan persentase pada tingkatan keterampilan berpikir kreatif T1 (sangat rendah) sebanyak 48,2%, T2 (rendah) sebanyak 27,4%, T3 (sedang) 12,9%, T4 (tinggi) sebanyak 6,7%, dan T5 (sangat tinggi) sebanyak 4,7%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kreatif peserta didik termasuk dalam kategori sangat rendah. Kata kunci: Keterampilan berpikir kreatif, biology

Abstract

One of the 21st century skills needed to face the 4.0 revolution era is problem solving skills. However, these skills have not been fully mastered by students so that they can be improved through the application of the RANDAI learning model. This study aims to determine the effect of the RANDAI learning model on improving students' problem solving skills on fungi material at SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang. This research is an experimental research with Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The study population was the entire X IPA class of SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang. The research sample was X IPA 1 class students as the control class and X IPA 2 for the experimental class. The sampling technique was purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used 6 essay questions. The data analysis used paired sample t-test. Based on the research results, the experimental class students' problem solving ability scores were higher than the control class. The results of the paired sample t-test obtained a significant value of 0.000 ˂ 0.05, meaning that there is a significant difference in the improvement of problem solving skills between the experimental class and the control class. So it can be concluded that the application of the RANDAI learning model has a positive effect in improving problem solving skills on fungi material in class X SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang.

Abstract

Hasil analisis awal yang menunjukkan kurangnya kemampuan system thinking peserta didik kelas XI SMAN 5 Padang berada pada kriteria yang perlu ditingkatkan. Penerapan model PBL juga masih belum optimal dalam pembelajaran biologi. Hal ini dikarenakan guru yang cenderung belajar dengan metode ceramah. Untuk itu, perlu upaya untuk meningkatkan system thinking peserta didik melalui penerapan model PBL dalam pembelajaran serta melihat faktor IQ peserta didik. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh PBL terhadap system thinking peserta didik dengan diferensiasi intelektual kelas XI SMAN 5 Padang.Jenis penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan rancangan post-test only control group design. Populasi adalah seluruh kelas XI MIPA SMAN 5 Padang tahun pelajaran 2022/2023. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas XI MIPA 1 sebagai kelas kontrol dan XI MIPA 7 sebagai kelas eksperimen. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen penilaian system thinking berupa tes essay yang jawabannya dalam bentuk peta konsep. Analisis data menggunakan uji independent sample t-test dan uji korelasi rank spearman menggunakan SPSS versi 25.Hasil penelitian system thinking pada kelas eksperimen memiliki nilai yang lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol dengan nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen sebesar 67,27 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 54,86. Hasil analisis data pengaruh PBL terhadap system thinking peserta didik sebesar 0,000 0,05, artinya terdapat perbedaan signifikan system thinking antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian hubungan IQ dan system thinking peserta didik kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol dengan nilai koefisien korelasi IQ pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,446 atau 19,8% dan pada kelas kontrol sebesar 0,091 atau 0,8%. Artinya kelas yang menggunakan model PBL dalam pembelajaran biologi memberikan nilai kontribusi IQ sebesar 19,8% terhadap system thinking dan sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lainnya yaitu faktor eksternal dan faktor internal. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh adalah terdapat pengaruh model PBL terhadap system thinking peserta didik dengan diferensiasi intelektual kelas XI SMAN 5 Padang.

Abstract

This research is a development research which aims to produce an assessment instrument with proper higher-order thinking skills on the subject of human movement systems. Assessment instruments are one example of teaching materials that can assist in the learning process. This research was conducted with a literature review on articles related to the 2017-2022 timeframe. It can be concluded that the development of higher order thinking skills instruments is feasible to be used as teaching materials that assist in the learning process.
