Abstract

Salah satu Permasalahan di Desa Mendalo Indah adalah sampah. Hal ini disebabkan desa mendalo indah dekat dengan Kampus Universitas Jambi dan banyak perumahan dimana-mana. Hal ini mengakibatkan sampah dimana-mana karena kurang kesadaran masyarakat untuk membuang sampah pada tempatnya. Selain kurang kesadaran memang tempat membuang sampah yang tidak ada. Maka dari itu tim PPM Universitas Jambi sebagai bentuk tri darma perguruan tinggi terutama pada daerah sekitar Kampus akan mengadakan pengabdian dengan tema pemberdayaan masyarakat desa mendalo indah melalui bank sampah untuk menjadi desa mandiri dan bersih berbasis entrepreneur. Metode pelaksanaan PPM meliputi : (1) workshop tentang bank sampah, (2) pembentukan pengurus bank sampah, (3) pembuatan secretariat bank sampah, (4) perekrutan nasabah, (5) menerima sampah plastic, (6) menjual sampah plastic, kertas dan besi, (7) membayarkan listrik dan air nasabah bank sampah. Dengan bank sampah ini diharapkan Desa Mendalo Indah menjadi bersih, mandiri dan sejahtera.

Abstract

Berdasarkan keluhan kepala SMA N 2 Muaro Jambi pada waktu kami menyelenggarakan kegiatan pengabdian tahun 2022 bahwa masih banyak guru-guru yang mengajar menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional. Harapan dari kepala sekolah adalah agar guru-guru memiliki keterampilan dalam menyelenggarakan pembelajaran dengan model- model pembelajaran yang inovatif. Sehingga pembelajaran di kelas akan menjadi lebih aktif, inovatif dan menyenangkan, serta tujuan pembelajaran tercapai dengan mudah. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian penyampaian materi tentang model-model pembelajaran inovatif, tanya jawab seputar model pembelajaran inovatif, dan kemudian dilanjutkan dengan simulasi sintaks model-model pembelajaran inovatif.

Abstract

Prospective biology teachers need to be well prepared, not only in terms of biology content but also their teaching skills, including lesson study. This study aims to developing a biology lesson study book based on scientific approach. The research method used is research and development by adopting the ADDIE model. The research instrument used was a questionnaire to measure the responses of experts, teachers and students to the quality of the book. This research also pays attention to qualitative (suggestions and comments) and quantitative data. The results showed that the book was considered feasible by experts. Teacher and student responses also showed a positive impact on the use of the book. The test results also showed an increase in learning outcomes. So, the book can be used in classroom learning.

Abstract

Abstract: Development of a Dental and Oral Health Education Model with an Authoritative Parenting Approach to Prevent Dental Caries in Early Childhood. Objective: This research aims to develop a dental and oral health education model utilizing an authoritative parenting approach to prevent dental caries in early childhood. Methods: This research used Mixed Methods with a research and development (RD) design adopting the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation). Validation tests were carried out by 2 experts (an expert in the field of dental public health and an expert in the field of early childhood education) and 1 practitioner. Next, one-on-one trials were carried out on 3 mothers who had children aged 3-5 years, small group trials on 9 mothers and their children, field trials on 20 mothers and their children for the intervention group, 20 mothers and their children for the control group. Qualitative data analysis used the Miles-Hubermen analysis technique, quantitative data analysis used the Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney tests. Findings: The design stage yielded a dental and oral health education model employing an authoritative parenting approach to prevent dental caries in early childhood. Results from the development stage, including validation by experts and practitioners, affirm the model's suitability for trial. One-on-one and small group tests indicate that the educational model is engaging and easy to comprehend. The field test results demonstrate a significant impact of the provided educational model on enhancing mother's knowledge, attitudes, and improving OHIS value of their children. Conclusion: The dental and oral health education model, employing an authoritative parenting approach to prevent dental caries in early childhood, is deemed suitable for implementation and proves effective in enhancing mother’s knowledge, attitudes, and OHIS value of their children. Keywords: dental caries, early childhood, educational model.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v14.i1.202417

Abstract

Socio scientific issues deals with learning materials related to controversial issues that develop along with the development of scientific and technological advances.This study aims to compare the PjBL learning model with the STEM PjBL learning model based on socio scientific issues in each class in the biology education study program in improving students' scientific literacy. Quantitative research methods are associative and comparative types. This study took research samples from the research population, namely students in the 7th semester of the biology education study program as many as 60 samples. The sampling technique uses simple random sampling. Data collection used a student response questionnaire to the PjBL learning model and a scientific literacy questionnaire. The results of the t test found that there were differences in the responses of regular students A and regular B to the PjBL learning model and the STEM project based learning innovation based on SSI learning model. The results of the correlation test found that there was a significant relationship between the responses of regular B semester 7 biology education students to the PjBL model variables and students' scientific literacy
