Abstract

Since competition activities can improve sportsmanship, moral development, motivation, and prepare students in the "real world", competition activities (sports orientation) in physical education is very necessary. A strategy that is proposed to stimulate sports orientation in physical education in this study is a Sport Education Model (SEM). The purpose of this study was to determine the differences between team sports and individual sports when using SEM, towards sports orientation in physical education for junior high school students. The research method uses true experiments with posttest-only control group design. The participants in this study were 80 grade seventh junior high school students. Using the Sport Orientation Questionnaire (SOQ), the data was analysed using independent samples t-test. The results stated that there were significant differences between the two conditions. The findings suggests that sports orientation in SEM team sports are more influenced by goal orientation is in accord with the statement that achievement in sports competition (sports orientation) depends on goal orientation, but not at SEM individual sports.

Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini deskriptif korelasi dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel dalam penelitian sebanyak 360 orang mahasiswa aktif Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Instrumen pengambilan data mengunakan Global Physical Activity Questionnaire (GPAQ), Questionnaire For Screen Time Of Adolescents (QUEST), dan Health Related Quality Of Life SF-36 (HRQoL SF-36). The relationship of screen time and physical activity level during covid-19 with health-related quality of life  among university studentsAbstractThis study aimed to test the relationship between screen time and physical activity levels of students during the Covid-19 period with health-related quality of life. The method used in this research was a descriptive correlation with a quantitative approach. The sample in the study was 360 active students at an Indonesian Education University. Physical activity was assessed using the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire (GPAQ). Screen time was measured using the Questionnaire For Screen Time of Adolescents (QUEST), and quality of life was assessed with the Health Related Quality of Life SF-36 (HRQoL SF-36). The results of the data analysis showed that the average the total metabolic equivalent of task (MET) per week  was 1027 MET, thus the level, was classified as moderate. There  were significant relationship between each 8 HRQoL subscale (i.e. Physical Function, Physical Role, Pain, General Health, Social Function, Vitality, Emotional Role, Mental Health) and. physical activity and HRQOL ( P value 0.000).  No significant correlation however was found between physical activity and screen time. This indicates that physical activity can be a contributing factor to quality of life, but screen time does not show a significant relationship because P value = 0.762 0.05.

Abstract

The social skills of teenagers, especially those of high school age, are very concerning. Numerous pieces of evidence point to the existence of social issues that manifest themselves not only in the context of the educational institution but also in the wider society. Lack or low emotional intelligence is considered the presence of disturbances in emotional and social functioning. Social skills and managing emotions are essential to blocking problematic behaviors. But empirical evidence of emotional intelligence and its influence on social skills is minimal. This study aims to prove the influence of emotional intelligence on students' social skills at the High School level. This research uses a descriptive method with a correlational type of research. The population used in this study was all high school students in the Tasikmalaya area, and as many as 173 students were sampled in this study by random cluster sampling. The data analysis was a simple linear regression test using IBM SPSS 26. The result of this study is the relationship between variables of 0.503 in a positive direction, with a coefficient of determination (R Square) of 0.253, which means that free variables have an influence of 25.3% on bound variables. Referring to the calculated F value = 57.967 with a Sig. rate of 0.000 < 0.05 means that the null hypothesis is rejected, and the research hypothesis is accepted. In conclusion, emotional intelligence positively affects students' social skills in Physical Education.
