Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai pengembangan sistem perkuliahan berbasis TIK untuk meningkatkan kebermaknaan belajar mahasaiswa biologi. Penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimental terhadap 80 orang mahasiswa calon guru biologi peserta kuliah genetika yang dicuplik secara acak dari total mahasiswa 156 orang. Untuk keperluan tersebut sampel penelitian dibagi ke dalam dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol dengan jumlah mahasiswa untuk masing-masing kelompok 40 orang. Kelompok eksperimen mengikuti perkuliahan genetika melalui sistem perkuliahan berbais TIK (GeneTIK) sedangkan kelompok kontrol mengikuti perkuliahan tatap muka reguler. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa para mahasiswa yang mengikuti perkuliahan melalui GeneTIK belajarnya lebih baik dibandingkan dengan yang mengikuti perkuliahan secara regular. GeneTIK juga dapat meningkatkan kebermaknaan belajar mahasiswa berdasarkan perhitungan rata-rata N-gain 0,3218 (±0,21) untuk kelompok eksperimen dan 0,2385 (±0,16) untuk kelompok kontrol.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki peningkatan penguasaan mahasiswa terhadap konsep kimia dasar melalui perkuliahan terintegrasi praktikum. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain pretes-postes grup kontrol. Penelitian dilakukan di Jurusan Pendidikan Kimia FPMIPA Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Data dikumpulkan melalui lembar kerja mahasiswa, teknik wawancara, teknik observasi, dan tes kemampuan kimia. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik deskriptif. Data diolah dengan menggunakan program SPSS versi 13. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penguasaan mahasiswa terhadap konsep kimia dasar meningkat secara signifikan. Berdasarkan hal tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa perkuliahan terintegrasi praktikum dapat meningkatkan penguasaan mahasiswa terhadap konsep kimia dasar. Disarankan agar penelitian ini dikembangkan pada topik-topik kimia lainnya.

Abstract

This research had been conducted to find study program which can increase ability of chemistry prospective teachers for doing assessment chemistry learning. Research process is held in LPTK in Bandung by 52 teacher candidates at validation test and 112 teacher candidates at implementation test. Design research and development is applied with four phases. Those were 1) preliminary study; 2) program planning; 3) program validation; and 4) program implementation. Data collected through test of the chemistry education evaluation theory, prospective teachers' activity, and exercises. Data was collected using test, observation sheet, portfolio, questionnaire and field note. Data analysis used descriptive statistics of normalized gain score by t test. The research produced an inquiry based chemistry education evaluation program (PEPKBI). The program was consist of design, implementation and evaluation of learning Chemistry components. Results of research indicated that PEPKBI program was effective to increase score of the evaluation of chemistry learning theory ( = 0,462).

Abstract

The purposes of this research are to increase creative thinking skills and concept mastery of students in the material buffer solution using Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The method which is used quasi experiment method with one group pretest –posttest design. The research subjects were 31 students in grade XI school stubs on one of the main international school in the town of Cimahi, West Java. The techniques of data collection are done through a written test like 12 essay question, student worksheets, student questionnaires and teacher interviews. The data is analyzed by statistical tests using SPSS version 16.00 and a descriptive analysis. The results showed that the learning process according with 5 stages in the PBL model; over all creative thinking skills and concept mastery increased significantly with the average N-gain = 0.61; indicators of creative thinking skills that experienced the highest increasing is “elaboration”, N-gain = 0,70; label concepts that experienced the highest increasing is the calculation of pH buffer solution, N-gain=0.86 and PBL model got a positive response from teachers and students.

Abstract

This research, is part of a research on the development of a learning to improve mastery concept of science and the instructional. The learning model in this research integrate two courses with different subject and different semester in two PGSD of several campuses of an university of teacher training. PGSD-X, which is in the same city with the University and PGSD Y in other city at the same province. Subject of the research consisted of 25 prospective teacher students in PGSD X and 26 prospective teacher students in PGSD-Y. Scenario of learning was done in 4 phases, namely: (1) modeling phase, (2) discussions phase, (3) enrichment phase, and (4) peer teaching phase. The learning topics is the integration of food’s topic and thematic. The data was collected before learning (pre test) and after learning (post test). Data analysis was done by calculating the normalized gain from Hake . The results from PGSD-X obtained =0,72±0,07 in the mastery of food and = 0,70±0,14 in thematic. The results from PGSD-Y obtained =0,66±0,10 in the mastery of food and =0,53±0,20 in thematic. The results could be concluded that the ability of prospective teachers in the PGSD X better than PGSD –Y in mastery of food concept and thematic instructional.

Abstract

ABSTRAKTujuan dari penelitian dengan judul “Pengembangan Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis Siswa SMA pada Topik Teori Domain Elektron melalui Simulasi Interaktif PhET Molecule Shapes” dilakukan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa SMA melalui penggunaan simulasi interaktif PhET MS versi 1.05 pada topik teori domain elektron. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi experiment. Subyek penelitian terdiri atas 64 siswa kelas X IPA di salah satu SMA Negeri di Kota Bandung. Data yang diperoleh berupa hasil tes tertulis dan angket terhadap siswa, serta hasil wawancara terhadap guru kimia. Analisis data penelitian dilakukan melalui uji statistik menggunakan independent-sample t-test atau Uji Mann-Whitney dengan taraf kepercayaan 95%. Hasil analisis signifikansi menunjukkan bahwa PhET MS dapat meningkatkan penguasaan sebagian indikator keterampilan berpikir kritis. Peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa terjadi pada indikator membuat induksi dan mempertimbangkan hasil induksi (N-gain: 45,54 %), serta menganalisis argumen (N-gain: 57,03 %). Baik guru maupun siswa memberikan tanggapan yang positif mengenai penggunaan PhET MS dalam pembelajaran.ABSTRACTThe Purpose of “Developing High School Students’ Critical Thinking Skills on Electron Domain Theory through PhET Molecule Shapes Interactive Simulation” research was to improve high school students’ critical thinking skills using interactive simulation PhET MS version 1.05 on electron domain theory. Quasi experiment method was used in this research, and involved 64 students from one of public senior high school in Bandung. The data collected were in a form of students’ test and questionnaire results and teachers interview. Data were analyzed by statistics analysis using independent-sample t-test or Mann-Whitney test (95 % level of significance). The results showed that PhET MS was able to improve several critical thinking indicators. The critical thinking indicators of induction and judging induction (N-gain: 45,54 %) and analyze arguments (N-gain: 57,03 %) were improved. Furthermore, both teacher and students responded positively to the use of PhET MS.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan memvalidasi instrumen asesmen kinerja yang dirancang untuk mengukur keterampilan berpikir kreatif mahasiswa calon guru kimia dalam pembelajaran berbasis proyek modifikasi alat praktikum (PBPMAP). Instrumen yang dikembangkan terdiri dari asesmen kinerja produk lembar kerja mahasiswa (LKM), serta asesmen kinerja proses ujicoba alat spektrofotometer sinar tampak (SST) dan spektrofotometer serapan atom (SSA) hasil modifikasi. Butir task disusun berdasarkan indikator keterampilan berpikir kreatif framework Torrance. Rancangan awal instrumen dikonsultasikan kepada tiga orang ahli berdasarkan tujuan pembelajaran. Instrumen kemudian divalidasi oleh tiga orang ahli di bidang pendidikan kimia. Ujicoba instrumen dilakukan pada mahasiswa tahun ketiga di Program Studi Pendidikan Kimia Provinsi Lampung (N = 35). LKM dan video rekaman ujicoba alat dari salah satu kelompok mahasiswa dinilai oleh tiga orang rater. Skor dari ketiga rater kemudian dianalisis menggunakan Two-Way Anova. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa korelasi intra-kelas instrumen asesmen kinerja ini adalah memadai (ICC = 0,792). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa instrumen reliabel dan dapat digunakan untuk mengukur kinerja keterampilan berpikir kreatif mahasiswa. This study aimed to developed and validate the performance assessment instrument designed to measure creative thinking skills of undergraduate pre-service chemistry teacher in project-based learning lab apparatus modification of chemistry of instruments. The instrument was developed consisting of the assessment of product performance, i.e. the student worksheet; and process performance assessment of testing apparatus modified of visible spectrophotometer and atomic absorption spectrophotometer. Task item arranged based on creative thinking skill indicators Torrance’s framework. A preliminary draft of instrument consulted to three experts based on learning objectives. Instruments were validated by three experts in the field of chemical education. The instrument tested to the third year student in Program Studi Pendidikan Kimia Provinsi Lampung (N = 35). Student worksheet and video of testing apparatus modified from one group of students rated by three raters, then analyzed by Two-Way Anova. The results showed that the consistency intra-class correlation performance assessment instrument is adequate (ICC = 0.792). This results shows that the instrument reliable and can be used to measure the performance of students creative thinking skills.

Abstract

Electronic portfolio assessment (EPA) is an assessment procedure based assessment for learning which is a collection of student work collected digitally. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of implementation of the EPA model to increase students’ generic science skills (GSS) in Practical Inorganic Chemistry. Research was conducted at Chemistry Education Department on preservice teacher programme. The research design was a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Research subjects each consisted of 30 students in the experimental and control Group. Data was collected using GSS test given at pretest and posttest. Data were analyzed by SPSS version 17.0. The result show that students who used EPA model in the assessment process have increased GSS (mean of N-gain= 0.41) better than those used conventional portfolio assessment (mean of N-gain = 0.14).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan melatih guru IPA SMP dalam menyusun desain instruksional Ilmu Pengetahuan Bumi dan Antariksa (IPBA) dan meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis (KBK) siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Quantitative method. Subjek penelitian 24 Guru IPA SMP dan 193 siswa kelas VII dari beberapa SMP Negeri di Kota Palembang Sumatera Selatan tahun ajaran 2016/2017 yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes keterampilan berpikir kritis materi struktur bumi dan bencana yang digunakan untuk mengukur penguasaan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan N-gain. Dari hasil skor pre tes diperoleh 37,34 pos tes 48,18 dan N-gain 0,168. Dari hasil penelitian ini terdapat peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan menyelidiki keefektifan program pembelajaran stereokimia berbasis visualisasi 3D molekul menggunakan salah satu chemical drawing software berbasis open source yakni Avogadro, dan animasi kekiralan melalui komputer untuk meningkatkan kemampuan  spasial mahasiswa calon guru. Studi menggunakan quasi experimental control group pretest-posttest design. Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari 25 soal pilihan ganda disertai alasan, disusun berdasarkan indikator tiga dimensi utama  kemampuan spasial. Penelitian dilaksanakan di satu LPTK di Provinsi Lampung,  semester ganjil Th. Akademik 2014/2015. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen, masing-masing ada sebanyak 30 mahasiswa.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa  rata-rata skor post test kemampuan spasial kelompok mahasiswa dengan pembelajaran stereokimia berbasis visualisasi 3D molekul secara signifikan lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok mahasiswa yang media pembelajarannya menggunakan molymod. Keefektifan program ditunjukkan oleh peningkatan N-gain dalam kategori sedang dan efek size (d) dalam kategori tinggi untuk ketiga dimensi utama kemampuan spasial.  Kata kunci: stereokimia, visualisasi 3D, kemampuan spasial, software open-source, THE EFFECTIVENESS OF STEREOCHEMISTRY BASED ON 3D VISUALIZATION OF MOLECULES IN IMPROVING SPATIAL ABILITY Abstract: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of stereochemistry learning programs based on 3D visualization of molecules using the open source chemical drawing softwares, Avogadro, and animation of chirality to improve spatial ability of teacher candidates. This study used a quasi-experimental control group pretest-posttest design. The research instrument consisted of 25 multiple choice questions along with the reasons elaboration, composed based on three major indicator dimensions of spatial ability. The research was conducted at a LPTK in Lampung Province, in the first semester of Academic Year 2014/2015. The subjects consisted of control class and experimental class, each of which consisted of 30 students. The results showed that the average post-test scores of spatial ability of students learning stereochemistry based on 3D visualization of molecules was significantly higher than the group of students learning using molymood media. The effectiveness of the program was shown by the increase in N-gain in the medium category and effect size (d) in high category for the three main dimensions of spatial ability. Key words: stereochemistry, 3D visualization, spatial ability, open-source software
