Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know the geometrical reasoning ability of the students viewed from the self-efficacy through the learning of Connected Mathematic Project (CMP) ethnomathematic-based. The type of this research was qualitative which was descriptive. To obtained the validity of the qualitative data, the checking technique used in this research was sources triangulation, which had been done by comparing the suitability of the obtained data from the results of the interview and the test. Population of this research was the students of grade VIII at SMP Negeri 1 Sidoharjo and the sample was the students from VIII A Class. At the final, 12 research subjects were chosen to represent the group of level 1 self-efficacy, level 2 self-efficacy, level 3 self-efficacy, level 4 self efficacy, level 5 self-efficacy, and level 6 self-efficacy. In this research, there was a finding which shows us that the students with high self-efficacy had low ability to finish the geometrical reasoning ability test, while the students with low self-efficacy had the ability to finish the geometrical reasoning ability test. The factors which affected the finding were the motivations and the interest of learning mathematics which was affecting the attitude of the students in the classroom.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the difference and increase of the mathematical literacy ability using PBL-PRS-E, PBL-PS and scientific approach, and to find out difference of the mathematical literacy ability between learning styles. This study belongs to quantitative research. The population in this study are 9th grade students SMP Negeri 1 Majenang, Cilacap academic year 2016/2017. This study uses a quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest control group design. Then, methods of the study are test, questionnaire, and documentation. Data analysis was performed by one way anova, two way anova, and increase in the gain normalized. The results of the study are (1) the mathematical literacy ability of students in the experimental group 1 is better than the mathematical literacy ability of students in the experimental group 2 and control group, (2) there is no difference in the mathematical literacy ability between learning styles, (3) there is no interaction between the mathematical literacy ability based learning models and student's learning styles, and (4) ithe increase of students’ mathematical literacy ability in the experimental group 1 is better than in the control group but less than the increase of stuednts’ mathematical literacy ability in the experimental group 2. Eventually, this study suggests that 9 grade mathematics teacher in SMPN 1 Majenang can use PBL-PRS-E model to improve the learning result and mathematical literacy ability of students.

Abstract

Provision of geometry material carried out at several levels of education confirms that the burden of children's knowledge in receiving different geometry material is adjusted to the ability of children at each stage. This agrees with the theory of geometry thinking conveyed by Van Hiele. One of the constructivism learning models that is expected to be able to improve problem solving skills in students, including the 7E Learning Cycle model. The purpose of this study is (1) to describe the development of Van Hiele Geometry thinking skills in students in solving open ended problems in 7E Learning Cycle learning, and (2) describe the Van Hiele Geometry thinking skills of students in solving Open Ended problems in terms of Self Efficacy in learning 7E Learning Cycle. The population in this study were students of class IX Junior High Schoolof 2 Kudus. Sampling was done by using purposive sampling technique, 6 subjects were selected, with 2 subjects for low self efficacy, 2 subjects for medium self efficacy and 2 high self efficacy subjects from class IX A as the experimental class.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the ability of mathematical literacy and the responsibility of students with an ethnomathematics-style Realistic Mathematics Education learning model. This type of research is a qualitative research that is descriptive. To establish the validity of qualitative data then the inspection techniques used in this research using the triangulation of the source, that is to compare the suitability of data obtained from the results of interviews and tests. The study was conducted on one of the junior high schools in Semarang, and there are 6 research subjects representing each of the 2 students for the group of high responsibility categories, 2 students for the category of medium responsibility groups, and 2 students for the group of low liability categories. In this study it was found that there were students representing the responsibilities of being granted results from mathematical literacy skills tests with the same results as students representing high responsibility groups. The factors influencing the findings are the thoroughness of the students representing the group of responsibilities being in Corrected their work.
