Abstract

The prevalence of diabetes mellitus (DM) type 2 was increases globally. DM can be affected by several factors such as poor diet, physical inactivity and obesity. The aims this research are to examine the relationship between body mass index (BMI) and waist-hip ratio (WHR) with  fasting blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes mellitus. This study used  a quantitative research and cross sectional design with 30 subjects. Analysis of data was carried out using pearson correlation. The result of this research showed that almost respondents between 50-64 years old (73.3%) and (83.3%) with low educational (53.3%). The average of WHR are 0.9 and BMI are 27.4 kg/m2. The results showed that BMI have significat association with  fasting blood sugar levels (p<0.05). However, there was no significant association between WHR and fasting blood sugar levels. Keywords : diabetes mellitus, body mass index, waist hip ratio

Abstract

AbstractDiabetes Mellitus (DM) is a degenerative disease where the body cannot use the insulin effectively. Nationally, the prevalence of diabetes was 2.1%. DM prevalence in Jakarta reached 2.5% in the age group 45-74 years. In controlling glucose levels in the blood, it takes direct and indirect factors. One direct factor in the control of blood glucose levels is the diversity of food consumption. The diversity of food consumed is very important to be measured to have a good quality of food consumption. The research aims to describe the diversity of food consumption in DM patients at the health center in West Jakarta. This research is an observational cross-sectional study design. The study population was all patients with type II DM. The number of samples of 238 respondents who met the inclusion criteria. Data collected were the diversity of food consumption using dietary diversity score (DDS). The DDS results were obtained from respondents' consumption intake using the 2x24 hour food recall method. The result showed that the majority of respondents aged 46-65 years as many as 206 people (86.6%) and the majority of the respondents were female as many as 172 people (72.3%). From the survey, results it is known that as many as 232 people (97.5%) of respondents have a diversity of food consumption, which is diverse. The diversity of food consumption in patients with type II DM in West Jakarta is included in various categories. Keywords: Diabetes mellitus, dietary diversity score AbstrakDiabetes Melitus (DM) merupakan penyakit degeneratif dimana tubuh tidak dapat menggunakan insulin yang diproduksi secara efektif. Secara nasional, prevalensi DM sebesar 2,1%. Di provinsi Jakarta prevalensi DM mencapai 2,5% pada golongan usia 45-74 tahun. Dalam mengontrol kadar glukosa dalam darah, dibutuhkan faktor langsung dan tidak langsung. Salah satu faktor langsung dalam mengontrol kadar glukosa dalam darah yaitu keragaman konsumsi pangan. Beragamnya pangan yang dikonsumsi sangat penting untuk diukur agar dapat memiliki kualitas konsumsi pangan yang baik.Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran keragaman konsumsi pangan pada penderita DM di Puskesmas Se-Jakarta Barat. Jenis penelitian ini bersifat observasional dengan desain penelitian cross sectional. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh pasien DM tipe II dengan jumlah sampel 238 responden yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Data yang dikumpulkan yaitu keragaman konsumsi pangan menggunakan dietary diversity score (DDS). Hasil DDS diperoleh dari asupan konsumsi responden dengan menggunakan metode food recall 2x24 jam.Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa sebagian besar responden berusia 46 - 65  tahun sebanyak 206 orang (86.6%) dan sebagian besar responden berjenis kelamin perempuan sebanyak 172 orang (72.3%). Dari hasil survey diketahui bahwa sebanyak 232 orang (97,5%) responden memiliki keragaman konsumi pangan yang beragam. Keragaman konsumsi pangan pada penderita DM tipe II di Jakarta Baratsudah termasuk dalam kategori beragam. Kata Kunci: Diabetes melitus, keragaman konsumsi pangan

Abstract

AbstractFood service is good if patient acceptance of food ≥ 80%. Patients acceptanceaffected by taste, habits/preferences eating, and appetite. Animal protein is a dish that rich of protein value as needed in the process of wound healing in surgical patients.The objective of this study is to determine differences in the acceptability of animaldishes based on taste, habits/preferences eating, and appetite in the various classes of inpatient surgical patients at Cengkareng Hospital. This study was a cross sectional study. Samples were obtained by purposive sampling technique. The statistical test used Mann-Whitney test. The study was conducted on 192 surgical patients.Based on the statistical test, there is difference of patients acceptance for animal side dish based on taste and appetite (p=0,001) and habits/preferences eating (p = 0.022). Logistic regression results obtained taste protective of acceptability. This means that good taste can prevent a lack of food acceptance in patients (OR = 0.761). Taste is the dominant factor that can affect the animal side dish acceptance in surgical patients in hospitals Cengkareng than taste, habits/preferences eating and appetite.Keywords: Food acceptance, taste, animal dish. AbstrakPelayanan makanan dikatakan baik jika daya terima pasien ≥ 80%. Daya terima pasien dipengaruhi antara lain oleh cita rasa, kebiasaan/kesukaan makan, dan nafsu makan pasien. Lauk hewani merupakan hidangan tinggi protein yang dibutuhkan dalam proses penyembuhan luka pada pasien bedah.Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbedaan daya terima lauk hewani berdasarkan cita rasa, kebiasaan/kesukaan makan, dan nafsu makan di berbagai kelas rawat inap pasien bedah di RSUD Cengkareng. Penelitian ini merupakan studi cross sectional. Sampel diperoleh dengan teknik purposive sampling sebanyak 192 sampel.Uji statistik yang digunakan adalah Mann-Whitney.Berdasarkan hasil analisis diperoleh ada perbedaan rata-rata daya terima lauk hewani berdasarkan cita rasa dan nafsu makan pasien (p=0,001) dan kebiasaan/kesukaan makan (p=0,022). Hasil uji regresi logistik didapatkan cita rasa protektif terhadap daya terima. Artinya cita rasa yang baik mampu mencegah kurangnya daya terima pada pasien (OR=0,761).Cita rasa merupakan faktor dominan yang dapat mem-pengaruhi daya terima lauk hewani pada pasien bedah di RSUD Cengkareng dibandingkan cita rasa, kebiasaan/kesukaan makan dan nafsu makan.Kata kunci: Daya terima, cita rasa, lauk hewani.
