Abstract

The aim of this research was to describe effectiveness of advance organizer learning model to improving skills of defining and taking conclusion skill on the matter of  solubility and solubility product. The subject in this research were students in classroom XI IPA3 SMA N 7 Bandar Lampung. This research used a pre-experiment method with One Group pretest-posttest design. The effectiveness of advance organizer learning model was measured by the n-gain average. The research results showed that the average of n-gain values of skills in defining and drawing conclusions were 0.48 (middle category) and 0.54 (middle ca-tegory) respectively. This shows that (1) a model of advance organizer is effective to enhance the skill of defining in the medium category (2) a model of advance organizeris effective to enhance the skill of taking conclusion in the medium category.Keywords: advance organizer, skills in defining and taking conclusion

Abstract

This research aims to develop a matter particle textbook based on the chemistry representation and to describe the characteristics, the teachers’ responses, and the students’ responses toward the matter particle textbook based on the chemistry representation, and to know the obstacles encountered in developing a matter particle textbook based on the chemistry representation.  The research used Research and Development method.  Based on the teachers’ and students’ responses, it showed the content suitability of the textbook and curriculum is very high.  It is about 95%.  The graphic/the attractiveness aspect of the textbook is also very high about 94%, and the readable aspect of the matter particle textbook based on the chemistry representation is also very high about 93,04%.  Both students and the teachers are gave positive responses to developed Integrated Science textbook.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku ajar partikel materi berbasis representasi kimia, serta mendeskripsikan karakteristik, tanggapan guru, respon siswa terhadap buku ajar partikel materi berbasis representasi kimia, dan mengetahui kendala-kendala yang ditemui ketika mengembangkan buku ajar partikel materi berbasis representasi kimia.  Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode Penelitian dan Pengembangan.  Dari hasil tanggapan guru dan siswa diperoleh data bahwa kesesuaian isi buku ajar dengan kurikulum sangat tinggi sebesar 95%, aspek grafika/kemenarikan buku ajar sangat tinggi sebesar 94%, dan tingkat keterbacaan buku ajar partikel materi berbasis representasi kimia ini sangat tinggi sebesar 93,04%. Siswa dan guru merespon baik buku ajar IPATerpadu yang dikembangkan.Kata kunci :buku ajar, partikel materi, representasi kimia.

Abstract

Many Chemical concepts are abstract. Generally, chemical learning at this momen only in makroscopic and symbolic dimension, whereas submicroscopic often deserted. The research aim to develop animation media of multiple representation based on science material of reaction rate determinant factors. Method used is research and development (R D) according to Sugiyono (2008). Generally, research and development have three steps. There are step 1st) needs analysis, step 2nd) planning and development, and step 3th) evaluation the product. Results of this research is media of multiple representation based on science material of reaction rate determinant factors which have characteristic: 1) displaying science material of reaction rate determinant factors which be explained by multiple representation, 2) have parts consist of opening program title, foreword, instructional, competence standard, basic competence, indicators of product cognitive, indicators of process cognitive, science material of collision theory, science material of reaction rate determinant factors, literature, dan button for exit from the program, 3) have very high level of contents suitability that is 96.97 % according to teacher and also have high level of interesting that is 79.20% according students. Key words :  animation media, multiple representation, reaction rate determinant factors.

Abstract

The aimed of research was to describe the increase of grouping and inference skills on acid-base material on Learning Cycle 5E model.  This research used quasi experimental, with Non-Equivalent (Pretest-Posttest) Control Group Design.  The population of this research was students of XI science SMAN 1 Kotaagung, with XI science 1 class and XI science 2 class as samples.  The increase of grouping  and inference skills  measured base on the difference of a significant normalized gain (n-Gain).  The results show that mean value of n-Gain grouping skills in experimental class and control class ware 0.63 and 0.52;  and mean value of n-Gain inference skills in experimental class and control class ware 0.70 and 0.62.  Based on hypotesis testing used t-test, it was conclude that Learning Cycle 5E model could increase grouping and inference skills.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan keterampilan mengelompokkan dan inferensi pada materi asam-basa melalui model Learning Cycle 5E.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan Non-Equivalent (Pretest-Posttest) Control Group Design.  Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA SMAN 1 Kotaagung, dimana sampel yang digunakan adalah kelas XI IPA1 dan kelas XI IPA2.  Peningkatan keterampilan mengelompokkan dan inferensi diukur berdasarkan perbedaan n-Gain yang signifikan.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rerata n-Gain keterampilan mengelompokkan pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol yaitu 0,63 dan 0,52; serta nilai re-rata n-Gain keterampilan inferensi pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol yaitu 0,70 dan 0,62.  Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji-t, diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa model Learning Cycle 5E dapat meningkatkan keterampilan mengelompokkan dan inferensi.Kata kunci:   keterampilan inferensi, keterampilan mengelompokkan, dan model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 5E,

Abstract

Assessment instrument based on religious content and environment awareness on solution characteristic topic was developed by using Borg and Galls RD method. This research was done until the revision step after preliminary field testing which it was conducted at SMP Negeri 19 Bandar Lampung. Teacher gave very good respons to construction aspect (84.44%) and good respons to contents suitability aspect (78.57%) and language utilizing aspect (70.00%). In other hand, students gave very good responses to language utilizing aspect (82.00%). Based on that responses, so it can be concluded that the developed assessment instrument has good criteria.Instrumen asesmen berbasis nilai ketuhanan dan kecintaan terhadap lingkungan ini dikembangkan menggunakan metode RD menurut Borg dan Gall. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan sampai pada tahap revisi setelah uji coba terbatas yang dilakukan di SMP Negeri 19 Bandar Lampung. Guru memberikan tanggapan yang sangat baik pada aspek konstruksi (84.44%) dan tanggapan yang baik pada aspek kesesuaian isi (78.57%) serta aspek penggunaan bahasa (70.00%). Di lain pihak, siswa memberikan tanggapan yang sangat baik pada aspek penggunaan bahasa (82.00%). Berdasarkan tanggapan tersebut maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa instrumen asesmen yang dikembangkan memiliki kriteria baik.Kata kunci: instrumen asesmen, nilai ketuhanan, kecintaan lingkungan

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of problem based learningon pollution by bleach wasteto improve higher order thingking skills.  The method used quasi experiment with the matching only pretest and postestt control group design.  Population in this research was all students of class XI IPA one of Senior High School in Bandarlampung.  The sample of the research are XI IPA2 as experiment class and XI IPA 5 as control class that obtained by purposive sampling tehnique.  Data analysis technique used was parametric statistic test, that using t-test.  The results of this study it can be seen from Posttest value in experiment class is greater than the posttest value in control class, as well as the n-gain on the medium categorized in the experiment class and on low categorized in control class.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas pembelajaran berbasis masalah pencemaran limbah cairan pemutih dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi pada siswa.  Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain The Matching Only Pretest and Postestt Control Group Design.  Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI IPA salah satu SMA di Bandarlampung.  Sampel penelitian terdiri dari kelas XI IPA 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI IPA 5 sebagai kelas kontrol yang diperoleh dari teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling.  Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji statistik parametrik, menggunakan uji-t..  Hasil penelitian dapat dilihat dari nilai postes keterampilan berrpikir tingkat tinggi kelas eksprimen lebih tinggi daripada nilai postes kelas kontrol.  Rata-rata n-gain kelas keksprimen berkategori sedang dan rata-rata n-gain kelas kontrol berkategori rendah.Kata kunci: pencemaran limbah pemutih, keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi, pembelajaran berbasis masalah

Abstract

This research aims to produce student worksheets based science process skills on material factors affecting chemical equilibrium. The research methodused is theResearchand Development. Subject of this research is student worksheets based science process skills. Limited testing judgments of teachers and students' response to student worksheets developed by the student worksheetsbased science process skills on material factors affectingchemical equilibrium. Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of discovery learning model to increase student’s elaboration skills on chemical equilibrium subject matters.  The population of this research was students in XI science grade of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Metro odd semester academic year 2013-2014.  The samples were taken by purposive sampling technique and these were XI 1 and XI 2 of science grade.  The method of the research was quasi-experimental with Non Equivalent Control Group Desaign.  The effectiveness of discovery learning model was showed by the significant difference of n-gain between control and experiment class.  The result showed that the average n-gain of student’s elaboration skills of control was 0,271 and 0,512 for experiment class.  The result of hypothesis testing showed that discovery learning model was effective to increase student’s elaboration skills on chemical equilibrium subject matters. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model discovery learning dalam meningkatkan keterampilan elaborasi siswa pada materi kesetimbangan kimia.  Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Metro semester ganjil Tahun Pelajaran 2013-2014.  Sampel diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling dan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas XI IPA1 dan XI IPA2.  Metode penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan Non Equivalent Control Group Desaign.  Efektivitas model discovery learning ditunjukkan oleh perbedaan n-gain yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen.  Hasi penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata n-gain keterampilan elaborasi siswa pada kelas kontrol sebesar 0,271 dan kelas eksperimen 0,512.  Hasi pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan model discovery learning efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan elaborasi siswa pada materi kesetimbangan kimia. Kata kunci:  kesetimbangan kimia, keterampilan elaborasi, model discovery learning

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of learning by using the discovery learning model chemical equilibrium subject matter in increasing the student’s sensitivity. Discovery learning model consists of six steps: stimulation, problem identification, data collection, data processing, verification, and generalization. The population in this research was students of grade XI Science class SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Metro in the Academic Year 2013-2014 totaling 72 students. Sampling was done by purposive sampling technique and obtained XI 1and XI 2 as research class. The method of the research was quasi-experimental with Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The effectiveness of discovery learning model was showed by the significant difference of n-gain score between control and experiment class. The result showed that the average n-gain score of student’s sensitivity for control class was 0,25 and 0,52 for experiment class. From hypothesis testing was known that discovery learning model was effective to increase student’s sensitivity.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model discovery learning pada materi kesetimbangan kimia dalam meningkatkan sensitivitas siswa. Model discovery learning terdiri dari 6 tahap yaitu stimulasi, identifikasi masalah, pengumpulan data, pengolahan data, verifikasi, dan generalisasi.  Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Metro Tahun Pelajaran 2013-2014 yang berjumlah 72 siswa. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling dan didapatkan  kelas XI IPA1 dan XI IPA2  sebagai kelas penelitian. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan Non Equivalent Control Group Design. Efektivitas model discovery learning ditunjukkan berdasarkan perbedaan n-gain yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata n-gain sensitivitas siswa pada kelas kontrol sebesar 0,25 dan pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,52. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis, disimpulkan bahwa model discovery learning efektif dalam meningkatkan sensitivitas siswa.Kata kunci: kesetimbangan kimia, model discovery learning, sensitivitas siswa

Abstract

The observation results showed that the average marks for colloid system material of students in classroom XI IPA 1 in State Senior High School 3 in Bandar Lampung in academic year 2009-20010 was 62.56. The determined minimum accomplishment criteria (or KKM) for chemistry subject in all classrooms XI IPA was 68. Students’ motivations in learning chemistry were low. This could be seen from irrelevant students’ activities to learning such as doing other tasks, sleeping and chatting. One of efforts to improve students’ learning motivations and concept masteries in colloid system material is by implementing guided discovery learning. The objective of this research is to improve percent of students’ learning motivation and concept mastery averages with guided discovery learning. This was a classroom action research and conducted in two cycles. Research data were data of students’ learning motivation obtained from observation sheets and data of concept mastery obtained from formative tests. The results showed that there were improvements of averages of students’ learning motivations (46.92%) and concept masteries (13.87%) from cycle I to cycle II.      Keywords       : guided discovery learning, students’ learning motivations, concept masteries
