Abstract

The purpose of this research to find out the influnce of guided inquiry model with experiment method toward student sciense procsess skil. The method used is posttest only group design. Sample removal used randomly, from X MIPA 4 as experiment class and X MIPA 3 as control class. The research instrument are observation sheets and posttest to evaluated science procsess skill such as 12 characteristics. Observation made while learning activites to evaluate 7 out of 12 characteristics of science procsess skill. The next meeting, posttest made for 1 lesson hour to evalute 5 characteristics of student?s science procsess skill. The result from observation and posttest combined to be tested. Based on calculation, tarithmetic = 8,56 and ttable = 1,66. From this, tarithmetic is bigger than ttable, so the conclusion is guided inquiry learning with experiment method significantly influence to student?s science procsess skill.

Abstract

Learning process at senior high school still based on textbook oriented. It makes students less concerned with the environment especially the school environment where they study. Such condition requires a real action to solve so that the level of environmental awareness of the students is increased. This research aims to determine the relevance of research on teaching materials, ethnopedagogics, and environmental awareness character as well as the effectiveness of ethno pedagogic-based-teaching materials on environmental awareness character for senior high school students based on literature review. This research uses the literature review method to obtain the data. Teaching materials provide added value when sourced from the environment around the school (ethnopedagogic). Ethnopedagogy–based-teaching materials will increase character cares for the environment of high school students.

Abstract

This research aims to describe mathematics communication skill viewed from self-confidence of the students in AIR learning model with RME approach. This mixed method research used sequential explanatory. The population was taken from VII graders of 1 Pamotan, consisting of seven classes. The subjects were grouped based on self-confidence consisting of high, moderate, and low categories by using purposive sampling. Each subject was interviewed about mathematics communication skill. The findings showed that mathematics communication skill description viewed from self-confidence of the students was varied. It was shown from 11 students with high self-confidence obtained mathematics communication skill into 8 high and 3 moderate category students. From 14 students with moderate self- confidence, there were 4 students with high category, 8 students with moderate category, and 2 students with low category. From seven students with low self-confidence, there were 2 students with moderate and 5 students with low categories.

Abstract

21st century needs human resources that have an adequate ability to face the global era. This ability can trained at the education stage by using a good method in learning, discovery learning can be choices to release that. This study's aim is to analyze the effect of learning with discovery models on 21st-century skills for elementary school students. This study uses experimental research. Experimental research method is a research conducted on variables for which data are not yet available that it needs to be manipulated through the treatment of research subjects in which the impact is measured. Results of the creative thinking skills gain test showed the average value of the experimental class was 0.72 while the average value of the control class was 0,39. This shows the discovery model gives more influence on the student’s skills to think creatively. Results of the critical thinking skills gain test showed the average value of the experimental class was 0.78 while the average value of the control class was 0.60. This shows the discovery model gives more influence on the student’s skills to think critically. The results of communication skills test showed a significance value of 0.82. This value is higher than 0.05, it means that students communication skills with the discovery model are not higher than group of students that learning with the expository model. The result of collaboration skills showed a significance value of 0.91. This value is greater than 0.05, it’s means that the collaboration skills of students with discovery models are not higher than those of students who learn with expository models. This research is expected to be a reference for teachers in using learning models when teaching.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of students worksheet to improve of critical thinking ability of fourth grade student’s of SD N 5 Parakan Kauman based on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and local wisdom. This research adopt the procedure of research and development that oriented in 4D model (Define, Design, Developed, and Disseminate). The research design used was one groups pretest-posttest design with the member of subject were 24 students. The research instrument used observation sheet, interview sheet, validity test, written test (pretest and posttest), and also questionnaire. The result of the research showed that students worksheet included in the effective enough category, which based on the calculation of N-Gain score was 62.7809 or 62.8 %, with a minimum score is 57.14 % and a maximum score 66.67 %. These scores showed the improvement of student thinking in solving problem aspect, with good and very good categories. The result of the teacher respondent is 67, it is in interesting category and the student respondent got 84 in average score, it is in very interesting category. It can be concluded that the implementation of student worksheet in STEM basic and local wisdom can be implemented in teaching learning activities, it also improve the ability of students’ critical thinking.

Abstract

Scientific reasoning patterns of students formal operational base on the implementation of problem solving heuristic methods has been obtained. The aim of this research is knowing the influence of heuristic problem solving method that has been designed on practicum sheet of discovery learning model to develop scientific reasoning of students. The samples are 32 students in junior high school at 11-13 years old. The methods are CTSR test of scientific reasoning by Lawson and interview. The research design is one grup pretest-posttest. The results indicated that problem solving heuristic methods can be a factor to develop scientific reasoning of students. The lowest level of scientific reasoning (concrete reasoning pattern) is decrease 34,38%. The middle level of scientific reasoning (transitional reasoning pattern) is increase 31,25%. The highest level of scientific reasoning (formal reasoning pattern) is increase 3,13%. Heuristic methods helping students to develop scientific skills, such as setting hypotheses, modifying variables, and analyzing results of research. The scientific reasoning pattern can not be classified by age. People who has older of age has not impact in high scientific reasoning level than younger people. If someone fail on concrete aspect, it is not necessarily that person will be fail in formal aspect.
