Abstract

A research about the utilization of red dragon fruit extract (Hylocereus polyhizus) as reducer of Fe (III) metal ions has been done. This research aims to determine the optimum condition of reducer solution of dragon fruit extract to reduce Fe (III) metal ions based on variation of Fe solution concentration and also ph variation with Na2S2O3 reductant as comparison. The results showed that the optimum concentration of the dragon fruit extract reducer agent could reduce Fe (III) metal ion to Fe (II) at a concentration of 10 mg / L, Fe reduced as much as 1.187 mg / L, while the optimum pH is at pH 5 when Fe reduced of 1.436 mg / L. The concentration of Na2S2O3 reducant was at concentrations of Fe 10 mg / L with reduced Fe of 0.538 mg / L while the optimum pH was at pH 5 with a reduced Fe of 0.511 mg / L. From the results of this research with both reducers it can be seen that the dragon fruit extract reduces Fe metal ion better than the reduction of Na2S2O3. Abstract

A study on the manufacture and utilization of silica from coastal sand as a pale ingredient to lower free fatty acid levels has been conducted. The present invention includes sample preparation, sodium silicate (Na2SiO3), silica gel formation, silica gelation and Crude Palm Oil (CPO) test result of bleaching. The results showed that the silica of coastal sand was potential as a crude palm oil (CPO) ingredient with the ability to decrease the free fatty acid and color brightness, on the addition of 1 gram of silica obtained result of free fatty acid content analysis is 24,35 % with decreased color brightness of 0,27% and on the addition of 2 gram of silica obtained result of free fatty acid content analysis is 42,49 % with decreased color brightness of 2,8%. Abstract

Research on analysis of Pb in duckweed plants (Lemna minor) has been conducted by comparing of wet and dry destruction method. The duckweed plants would be destructed in wet destruction and dry destruction used nitric acid and aquaregia by variation of time and temperature in wet destruction. The results of destruction were tested with an atomic absorption spectrophotometer. To see the comparative accuracy of this method is using recovery test (% R) to determine Pb by wet destruction gave the better result which it showed that with obtained of %R with the nitric acid in temperature 350°C and 1 hour of time were 99.09 % and aquaregia were 84.05 %. The values of %R in dry destruction by nitric acid and aquaregia were 79.96% and 75.31%. According to this research it can conclude that using the wet destruction is better than dry destruction. Abstract

Penelitian tentang penurunan kandungan Linier Alkylbenzene Sulfonate (LAS) pada limbah laundry dengan Elektrokoagulasi-Flokulasi telah dilakukan. Untuk memperoleh hasil penelitian, optimasi dilakukan dengan berbagai variasi. Optimasi yang dilakukan antara lain optimasi waktu, optimasi tegangan, optimasi penambahan NaCl dan optimasi pengadukan dengan alat jar test. Instrumen pengukuran dengan menggunakan alat spectrophotometer UV-Vis. Hasil dari penelitian penurunan kandungan Linier Alkylbenzene Sulfonate (LAS) dari waktu kontak pada titik optimum 150 menit sebesar 74,58 %; kuat tegangan pada titik optimum 12 volt sebesar 69,34 %; penambahan kadar NaCl pada titik optimum 0,75 gr sebesar 52,86 %; dan dari optimasi pengadukan lambat dengan alat jar test pada titik optimum 20 rpm sebesar 17,92 %. Hasil penurunan kandungan Linier Alkylbenzene Sulfonate (LAS) pada limbah laundry dengan waktu, kuat tegangan, kadar NaCl dan pengadukan optimum didapatkan sebesar 73,51 %. Abstract

Penelitian tentang uji fitokimia, toksisitas dan aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak kasar batang bakau hitam (Rhizophora mucronata Lam.) telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui senyawa metabolit, dan aktivitas antioksidan pada ekstrak kasar metanol. Metode yang digunakan diantaranya uji fitokimia dilakukan dengan uji warna, uji toksisitas dilakukan dengan metode Brine Shrimp Lethality Test dan uji aktivitas antioksidan dengan menggunakan metode DPPH. Hasil uji fitokimia menunjukkan ekstrak kasar batang bakau hitam mengandung senyawa flavonoid, fenolik dan triterpenoid. Pada hasil uji toksisitas dari ekstrak kasar metanol memiliki nilai LC50 sebesar 420,9017 ppm dan hasil uji aktivitas antioksidan dari ekstrak kasar metanol memiliki nilai IC50 sebesar 119,432 ppm. Berdasarkan data tersebut dapat disimpulkan ekstrak kasar metanol dengan nilai LC50 memiliki tingkat toksisitas yang toksik dan nilai IC50 memiliki kekuatan aktivitas antioksidan sedang. Abstract

A study on the synthesis and characterization of mesoporous silicas SBA-15 (Santa Barbara Acid 15) from bamboo leaf ash. SBA-15 from bamboo leaf ash leaves was synthesized by modification of the microemulsion template method. SBA-15 was characterized by N2 adsorption/desorption analyzer, SAXS (Small Angel X-Ray Difraction), FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared) and SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy). N2 adsorption/desorption analyses showed that SBA-15 has type IV isotherms, with H1 type hysteresis which was a characteristic of mesoporous materials. ​​SBA-15 from bamboo leaf ash has surface are (calculated by BET method) of 698 m2 / g, pore volume of 0.81 cm3 /g and pore diameter of 4.66 nm. In the difractogram appeared 3 typical peaks of SBA-15 between 0.5 - 5o 2θ with miller indices (100), (110) and (200), respectively. The FTIR spectrum showed peaks from siloxane (Si-O-Si) and hydroxyl groups (-OH). The SEM pictures showed that the morphology of SBA-15 was a combination of platelets and spheres with the average particle size of 0.5 μm. Kata kunci: Bamboo leaf Ash, SBA – 15

Abstract

Adsorpsi ion logam Fe menggunakan biochar dari pirolisis lambat Macaranga gigantea telah dipelajari. Adsorpsi biochar terhadap ion logam Fe memiliki pH optimum 4 dengan persen adsorpsi sebesar 93,0% dan kapasitas adsorpsi sebesar 8,98 mg/g. Adsorpsi biochar terhadap ion logam Fe memiliki waktu optimum 15 menit dengan persen adsorpsi sebesar 83,77% dan kapasitas adsorpsi sebesar 8,03 mg/g. Adsorpsi biochar terhadap ion logam Fe memiliki konsentrasi optimum 25 mg/L dengan persen adsorpsi sebesar 93,07% dan kapasitas adsorpsi sebesar 8,98 mg/g. Abstract

A study on the synthesis of ethyl acetate from fermented cassava peel (Manihot esculenta L) with acetic acid using acid catalyst has been done. Determination of the ratio of ethanol content with the addition of yeast bread and yeast tape, also to know the rendement of ethanol and ethyl acetate contained in cassava skin. Cassava leaf flour is hydrolyzed by using concentrated hydrochloric acid (HCl) then tested by reducing sugar content by nelson somogyi method and analyzed by using UV-Vis spectrophotometry. The hydrolysis result is divided into two parts and added yeast tape and bread yeast is also added nutrient NPK each and fermented for 5 days. The fermentation results were distilled off and analyzed using Chromatography Gas (GC). The obtained ethanol is reacted with acetic acid and sulfuric acid catalyst in the esterification reaction to obtain ethyl acetate. The esterification results were analyzed by IR spectroscopy. Ethanol obtained from Chromatography Gas (GC) analysis of 13% and esterification results from IR spectroscopic analysis showed the presence of ester (ethyl acetate) formed. Abstract

Penelitian tentang Penurunan Kadar Ion Logam Tembaga (Cu) dan COD Pada Limbah Cair Industri Kelapa Sawit dengan Menggunakan Metode Elektrokoagulasi telah dilakukan. Untuk memperoleh hasil penelitian optimal dilakukan berbagai pengukuran dengan variasi variasi elektroda, optimasi waktu kontak dan kuat tegangan.Pengukuran dilakukan menggunakan instrumen Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) dan metode titrasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penurunan persen penyisihan ion logam Cu didapatkan hasil dari plat Al-Al pada titik optimum parameter lama waktu kontak didapatkan sebesar 78,487 % dan pada parameter kuat tegangan 84,607 %. Pada penyisihan kadar COD dengan parameter lama waktu kontak sebesar 79,545 % dan pada parameter kuat tegangan sebesar 82,954%. Sedangkan hasil dari plat Al-Cu pada titik optimum parameter lama waktu kontak didapatkan hasil pada penyisihan ion logam Cu sebesar 91,673 % dan pada parameter kuat tegangan sebesar 89,712 %. Pada penyisihan kadar COD dengan parameter lama waktu kontak sebesar 85,227% dan parameter kuat tegangan sebesar 82,954%. Kata Kunci : Elektrokoagulasi, Air Limbah Industri Kelapa Sawit, Tembaga (Cu), Alumunium (Al) dan Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD).

Abstract

Synthesis of L-cysteine ​​modified silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) investigated. The reducing agent used in the synthesis of silver nanoparticles is trisodium citrate. The reaction between silver nitrate and trisodium citrate is indicated by a color change from clear to yellow. AgNPs were prepared with optimum contact time variations. The result of the UV-Vis spectrophotometer characterization showed that L-cysteine ​​modified silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) with an optimum contacting time of 7 hours.
