Abstract

Effective physics learning can be designed by recognizing students' difficulties in understanding physics concepts. Students build the concept through experience gained from the environment, so that they unconsciously have the concept in accordance with the understood. Students still have difficulty distinguishing work and energy definitions in physics and in everyday life. The concept of work and energy can be understood by students if students have good analogy skills. The Brain Based Learning (BBL) model through analogy facilitates learning to improve students' thinking ability analogy. The buying and selling analogy is used to relate concepts that students have understood (source problems) to the concept of work and energy as learning goals (target problems). Quasi-experimental learning is applied to determine the analogy of students. Data were analyzed from the achievement of analogy ability test results before and after learning. The success rate of mastering students' analogy abilities is analyzed from the stages of analogy in solving problems. Achievement of pretest and posttest scores of students 'analogy abilities shows that the BBL model through buying and selling analogy can improve students' analogy skills. The average achievement of students' analogy skills at the stage of generating the analogy includes good criteria, evaluating the analogy relations stage including good criteria, understanding the analogy case stage including good criteria, and at the transfering findings, including not good criteria. The results of the analogy ability show that the BBL model through the analogy of buying and selling gives positive results on the ability of students' analogy.

Abstract

Abstract

Pedagogical content knowledge is a combination of understanding knowledge material (content knowledge) and ways of educating (pedagogical knowledge). The purpose of this study is to improve student learning outcomes and interests through the implementation of multimedia assisted pedagogical content knowledge. The research method used is control group pretest-posttest design. Data collection was done by test and questionnaire. Data analysis using t test and gain test. The results showed that there was an increase in learning outcomes by the implementation of pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) with t count > t table and N-gain score of student learning outcomes of 0.60. Questionnaire results show the high interest of students in learning by using multimedia of Rectilinear motion.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to investigate the understanding of physics concept on the topic of simple machine through the application of learning media assisted discovery model. This pre- experimental study used pre-test – post-test. The sample of the research is the students of class VIIIG SMP Negeri 1 Wonosalam Demak academic year 2019/2020. The concept comprehension test results were analyzed using the n-gain test of the mean score and interview questionnaire. The average value of pretest 54 and the average post-test score increased to 87. The gain test results showed the high category. It was concluded that discovery-assisted learning model of video media teaching materials improved the student’s understanding of the concept of simple machine topic.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was conducted to determine the increase in critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes in multimedia-based elasticity learning and discovery learning. The type of research used is action class research with 3 cycles. Each cycle consists of 4 stages, namely planning (action), action (action), observation (observation) and reflection. The sample used was class XI IPA 2 SMA Negeri 2 Pekalongan. The critical thinking skills of students in cycle 1 are still in the low category, but the positive behavior of students has begun to appear. The participation of students in discussions increases. Critical thinking skills in cycle 2 increased with good categories. Students who are usually lazy have started to join the discussion. The increase in critical thinking skills occurred in the third cycle with the very good category, because in this cycle the discussion groups were divided based on the peer tutor principle. The percentage of student learning outcomes also increased to 74%. This increase can be seen in the acquisition of a gain value of 0.55 in the medium category. Multimedia-based learning with discovery learning models can be applied in learning physics so that it can improve student learning skills and outcomes

Abstract

This research is aimed to improve the understanding of the concept and the motivation of learning physics students on inclined plane material class of Eighth grade of MTs NU I'anatuth-Thullab Mutih Kulon Demak School Year of 2020/2021. This study conducted at the eighth grade of students as the subject consisting of 29 students. This class action research was conducted as much as one cycle consisting of three meetings. The results of pretest data were given moments before the implementation of virtual laboratory media. Based on PhET (Physics Education Technology) simulation, the researcher got different results with the posttest given after the implementation of learning using virtual laboratory media by using PhET. The results of the pretest reached 25% on understanding of student concepts, and there was increased after using the media through posttest which is 75%. There was increased on percentage through understanding of student concepts in inclined plane materials using virtual laboratory media by 50%, the percentage of student learning motivation increased on inclined plane material by 28%, and in the data after using virtual laboratory media got a good category at 76%.

Abstract

This study aims to find the effectiveness of forming a Pancasila student profile by applying a project based learning model in the physics learning process for Newton's Law material in class X MIPA students at SMAN 1 Bajawa. The dimensions of the Pancasila Student Profile include three dimensions, namely the ability to think critically, creatively, and mutual cooperation. This type of research is a mixed method sequential explanatory. Data collection instrument were tests and observation guidelines. The results of the data analysis show that the project based learning model contains Pancasila student profile values. Based on the research data, it was obtained that the students’ abilities on the Pancasila student profile is in the good category. The ability to critical thinking and crietive thinking has increased and can foster an attitude of mutual cooperation in students after being treated using a project based learning model. The N-gain value of critical thinking is 64.3% and classic completeness is 93%, the N-gain creative thinking increases by 68.5% and classic completeness is 90%, the students' cooperative attitude is 83% in the good category. This shows that the project based learning model that was implemented is effective in strengthening the profile of Pancasila students.  The class control uses the  PBL model N-gain value of critical thinking was 57.7%, the N-gain creative thinking increased by 53.3%, the mutual cooperation attitude of the students was in the with the medium category.
