Abstract

Multicultural da‘wa for the sake of building the paradigm of multicultural education is not an easy work due to the determinants in social structure like social, cultural, economic and political determinants. The implementation of multicultural education related to various social elements in society which are not in synergy one another. This article will reveal multicultural preaching carried out in schools and look at the strategies of multicultural education is implemented in schools. Applying qualitative study by describing the initial data associated with a multicultural dakwah activity at the three high schools in Yogyakarta Indonesia, this research concluded that multi­cultural da‘wa in schools is a combination of several approaches namely the contri­bution approach, the additive approach, the transformation approach, and the social action approach. Multicultural da‘wa can help students to develop a social identity that to be achieved based on the values of justice, equality and respect the diversity. The strategy developed by the school for implementing multicultural dakwah is by developing language skills, language classes, art performance, the use of cultural symbols, student exchange between tribes or between countries, and uniformity.***Dakwah multikultural untuk membangun paradigma pendidikan multikultural tidak mudah karena struktur masyarakat memiliki diterminan sosial, budaya, ekonomi dan politik. Pelaksanaan pendidikan multikultural terkait dengan berbagai unsur sosial dalam masyarakat yang satu dengan yang lain belum sinergis. Paparan ini akan mengungkap dakwah multikultural yang dilaksanakan di sekolah dan me­lihat strategi pendidikan multikultural dilaksanakan di sekolah. Melalui pe­neliti­an kualitatif dengan menggambarkan data awal terkait dengan aktivitas dakwah multikultural pada tiga SMA di Yogyakarta, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Penelitian ini berkesimpulan dakwah multikultural di sekolah merupakan kom­binasi dari beberapa pendekatan yakni pendekatan kontribusi, pendekatan aditif, pendekatan transformasi, dan pendekatan aksi sosial. Dengan dakwah multikultural dapat membantu siswa untuk mengembangkan identitas sosial yang hendak dicapainya berdasarkan nilai-nilai keadilan, kesetaraan dan menghargai perbedaan. Adapun strategi yang dikembangkan oleh sekolah untuk melaksanakan dakwah multikultural adalah dengan cara mengembangkan kemampuan ber­bahasa, kelas bahasa, perfomance seni, penggunaan simbol budaya, pertukaran pelajar antar suku atau antar negara, unifomitas.

Abstract

Recovery is necessary-for society- to rearrange their life after the earthquake.Teachers as society -memberstry to provide social supports as an attempt toovercome problems resulting from the earthquake. Social supports asan importantpart of the recovery process have positive effects on society members. This studyrevealed how teachers helped the recovery process after-the earthquake in BantulRegency, Yogyakarta Special Territory. Thestudy employed the qualitativeapproach. Thedata were collected through in~depth interviews, observations, anddocuments. The data were analyzed by using the descriptive and narrativetechniques. In the post-earthquake situation, teachers established resilience torecover their own life spirit and their students'. It was not easy for them to do sobecause mostof them experienced a traumatic situation during the earthquake.They tried toapply resilience strategies in the recovery process. For them,difficulties that the students faced were not only damagedand destroyed schoolbUildings which were not conducive for learning. For them, the earthquake was alearning experience tounderstand more about life. They realized their limitation asGod's creatures, social creatures,and individual creatures. In the recovery process,teachers, especially thosein Pleret District, expressed their creatiVity in a rationaland positive attitude towards the earthquake by joining a variety of spiritual-andsocial activities. They accompanied the students in difficult situations. They statedthat they could not realize the helping process to the maximum due to their owninternal problems. They stated that the earthquake -managed to improve theirunderstandingof the meaning of life and was the beginning of a process oflearning the earthquake as natural event that might happen any time in Indonesia

Abstract

This study aims to examine resilience to the diffusion factor of innovation in Islamic education services (Madrasah Ibtidaiyah) on zoning policies that have a major impact on school sustainability in making strategies as educational institutions that are trusted by the community. This study uses a critical theory paradigm of a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The research reports are responding to his resilience with a positive attitude with a luck risk, focus on core values, flexible, trying to achieve goals, dare to take concrete steps, create self-conditions and environments that support high expectations and expectations of teachers, students, people parents, as well as developing participatory attitudes and responsibilities.

Abstract

Disruption becomes a social phenomenon that occurs in society in the industrial revolution 4.0 era. However, the educational system in Indonesia has yet to reach education 4.0 standards, which causes more complexity in education-related problems in Indonesia. Moreover, the inequality in education quality and standards has become a tough challenge in building educational system in this era of disruption. Here, the culture-based education to face the challenge of the disruption era can be designed by integrating character education and multicultural education to develop four competencies of students in the education 4.0 era: critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity, and innovation. Furthermore, in the proposed education system, teachers must be able to change the fixed-mindset to growth-mindset as a capital to change the paradigm of education to successfully adapt to the era of digitalization and the internet of thing. This is supported by the characteristics that must be possessed by teachers in this era: creative & innovative, able to conduct multiliteracy pegagogical method, high personal quality, optimal competence, professional, resilient, never give up attitude, honest, discipline, high tolerance, and self confidence. With those characteristics teachers will play a greater role in educating students who are ready to face the disruption era, and making disruption as the future and opportunity to innovate and improve the quality of education.

Abstract

There are still many digital literacy gaps among pesantren in Indonesia due to maintaining the pesantren culture itself. Pesantren must be able to adapt to the times in the digital era, so they can compete with other educational institutions by utilizing digital literacy. The purpose of this article is to analyze pesantren digital literacy skills as an effort to realize the progress of pesantren education. The method used is library research with descriptive analysis study. The data is analyzed using content analysis and descriptive studies related to digital literacy in pesantren by using data sources from previous studies. The results explain that digital literacy is an opportunity and potential for pesantren education to be developed so that the role of pesantren in society is more advanced and superior. So, pesantren remains adaptive to the developments and demands of the times as needed. The digital literacy can be in the form of critical, creativity, imagination, and creative thinking skills in understanding technological developments so that they can use them well. Pesantren digital literacy is optimized as a form of effort in realizing the progress of pesantren education in Indonesia.

Abstract

The Potential of Integration between Biology Learning and Quran-Hadith LearningBecause the secular Western perspective is influential until now, the dichotomization of religion and science is very strong. Religion and science are often seen as conflicting, have a different realm of explanation, and cannot be reconciled. This view also has an impact on science learning and Islamic religious education in madrasas or religious schools. If the appreciation of the syar'iyyah verses can be synergized with knowledge of the kauniyyah verses, the benefits will be more significant and make the learning process more meaningful. This study explores the potential for integration or the common ground between discussions in Biological science with studies of the Qur’an and Hadith. The novelty of this study is to provide a deeper portion highlighting the traditions of the Prophet. This study also explores the content of Qur’anic verses or hadiths relatively rarely raised in previous studies. It shows the breadth of the potential for religion-science integration both from the Qur’anic verses and the Prophet Muhammad's traditions with the theme of faith, jurisprudence, and morals. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach with library research techniques. The results of this study indicate that learning biology with learning the Qur’an and Hadith can be integrated. The integration model can be classified into two, namely: (1) strengthening the study of Qur’anic verses and the Prophet's traditions, and (2) enriching the teaching of a Biology material by studying the Qur’anic verses or relevant traditions

Abstract

Bullying is an unpleasant act that is still a problem in the school environment. To find out about school policy innovations in an effort to reduce the impact of bullying behavior, this will illustrate the relationship between bullying perpetrators and victims of bullying in SMA as well as school policy innovations to reduce the impact of bullying. This research was conducted in high school students of all levels with the number of respondents 1119 students in Indonesia. Descriptive approach with mixed methods. The sample / respondent was determined by purposive sampling technique. The data used a questionnaire and were analyzed with proportions and conducted FGD and interviews with teachers in SMA. The results of the study concluded that: 1) The value of r-count (Pearson Correlations) of the bullying was 0.186 r-table 0.062 and the r-count value for the bullying victim aspect was 0.139 r-table 0.062, meaning that the relationship between the two variables was positive and increased the bullying and victims of bullying, there will also be increased assistance and support from parents, teachers and friends; 2) The solution to reduce bullying effects must implement policies at the macro, meso and micro levels that work systemically and in synergy by creating creative and innovative programs. With the existence of an effective and innovative school policy, bullying cases that occur in schools can be minimized in terms of quality and quantity.

Abstract

This qualitative research with case studies aims to analyze the role of parents in inclusive education at SD SERUMA Sleman. This type of research is qualitative with a case study design. In accordance with the research design, the subject was Seruma Elementary School in Sleman Regency. Collecting data using interview and documentation techniques. The validity of the data was done by confirming the results of observations and interview documents. The data credibility test is done by extending observations, increasing persistence, and references. The results showed that the role of parents in inclusive education is implemented in a participatory and collaborative manner. The positive role of parents can have a strong influence on the implementation of inclusive schools. These results indicate that the role of parents and schools and teachers to be involved in the process of implementing inclusive education is very supportive of the creation of better and meaningful inclusive learning.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis: (a) homeschooling sebagai alternatif pada sebagian masyarakat, (b) peranan keluarga dalam pelaksanaan pendidikan homeschooling, (c) mengeksplorasi aspek-aspek kultur dalam pendidikan homeschooling, (d) mengeksplorasi nilai-nilai dalam pendidikan homeschooling, (e) menganalisis tantangan, harapan, dan pengembangan pendidikan homeschooling. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi yang berusaha mendapatkan informasi selengkap mungkin untuk mengkaji dan menganalisis homeschooling dalam masyarakat, sebagai salah satu alternatif pendidikan, dalam situasi yang ilmiah. Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah dua homeschooling tunggal, dua homeschooling majemuk dan dua homeschooling komunitas. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipan, analisis dokumen, wawancara mendalam, dan Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Penelitian etnografis dilaksanakan dengan mengikuti tahapan dan proses penelitian kualitatif yang bersifat induktif, yang terdiri dari tahapan alur penelitian maju bertahap (the Developmental Research Sequence/DRS). Penelitian menemukan  lima hal pokok yaitu; (a) pilihan terhadap homeschooling sebagai pendidikan alternatif dengan model praktik tunggal, majemuk dan komunitas memiliki alasan, motivasi, metode dan pendekatan serta pengembangan minat bakat anak serta upaya membangun masa depan anak. (b)  peran keluarga pada homeschooling tunggal dominan, majemuk diberdayakan, dan komunitas sebagai pendekatan, dimana masing-masing terpengaruh oleh penanaman nilai-nilai dalam budaya keluarga. (c) formula model pendidikan homeschooling berbasis kultur  yang meliputi penguatan keyakinan, toleransi, mandiri, kejujuran, tanggung jawab, percaya diri, disiplin, kompetitif, solidaritas, sosialisasi lintas usia, dan berpikir kritis, sesuai dengan kebutuhan pendidikan anak. (d) Nilai-nilai positif homeschooling antara lain: (a) anak terbentuk sebagai pembelajar mandiri dan terbiasa berpikir mendalam (critical thinking). (b) peran orangtua/keluarga sebagai pengelola pendidikan dan proses belajar. (c) pola pembelajaran customized, (d) penanaman nilai sosial budaya terbangun dari interaksi antara anak dengan orangtua/keluarga, para homeschooler dalam komunitas belajar. (e) terdapat tantangan, harapan dan kemungkinan pengembangan pendidikan homeschooling dalam masyarakat.

Abstract

Di era digital saat ini, bullying ditengarai hadir di ruang online atau yang sering disebut cyberbullying. Penelitian ini mengkaji realitas cyberbullying di media sosial yang dialami pelajar SMA Indonesia. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif. Lokasi penelitian di enam wilayah di Indonesia meliputi Aceh, Medan, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Makassar, dan Papua. Setiap wilayah diwakili 3 sekolah dengan jumlah responden 242 setiap wilayah. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMA semua tingkatan (kelas X, XI, dan XII) dengan jumlah total 1452 orang siswa SMA. Data penelitian bersifat kuantitatif dan dianalisis secara statistik deskriptif berupa persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa cyberbullying merupakan salah satu bentuk bullying yang mulai banyak terjadi dan menunjukkan peningkatan seiring dengan semakin dominannya penggunaan media online dalam aktivitas pembelajaran maupun aktivitas sosial masyarakat. Angka cyberbullying di sekolah wilayah Indonesia yang terdiri dari daerah Aceh, Medan, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Makassar, dan Papua berada pada kategori cukup tinggi dengan skor 69,64%. Cyberbullying merupakan keniscayaan yang terjadi di tengah saratnya penggunaan media sosial pada generasi muda. Sejumlah rekomendasi ditawarkan untuk mereduksi cyberbullying di kalangan pelajar, baik bersifat personal maupun institusional.High school student cyberbullying on social media: Prevalence and recommendations AbstractIn today's digital era, bullying occurs in the online space or what is often called cyberbullying. This study examines the reality of cyberbullying on social media experienced by Indonesian high school students. This research uses a descriptive quantitative approach. The research setting is in six regions in Indonesia include Aceh, Medan, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Makassar, and Papua. Each region is represented with three schools by 242 respondents in each region. The Respondents in this study were high school students of all levels (class X, XI, and XII) with a number of 1452 high school students. The research data was quantitative and analyzed using descriptive statistics in the form of percentages. The results showed that cyberbullying is a form of bullying that has started to occur a lot and shows an increase in line with the increasingly dominant use of online media in learning and social activities. The cyberbullying rate in schools in the Indonesian region consisting of Aceh, Medan, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Makassar, and Papua is at a high level, with a score of 69.64%. Cyberbullying occurs amid social media usage among the younger generation. Some recommendations are offered to reduce cyberbullying among students, both personal and institutional.
