Abstract

This research aimed to find out the influence of discovery learning models on student's mathematical representation ability. The population of this research was all of the 7th-grade students of junior high school of 23 Bandar Lampung in academic years of 2018/2019 that distributed in eight classes. Sampling was carried out by using purposive sampling techniques so that selected as class 7C and 7D as a research sample. The design was used was the pretest and posttest control group design. The research data was obtained through mathematical representation ability test in the form of a essay on rectangular and triangular material. The analysis of the data of this study used the t-test. Based on the results of this research analysis, the discovery learning model influences the student's mathematical representation ability.Keywords: influence, mathematical representation ability, discovery learning.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh model discovery learning terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis siswa.  Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 23 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2018/2019 yang terdistribusi dalam delapan kelas. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling sehingga terpilih siswa VII C dan kelas VII D sebagai sampel penelitian. Desain yang digunakan adalah pretest - posttest control group design.  Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan representasi matematis berbentuk uraian dengan materi segiempat dan segitiga. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan uji-t. Berdasarkan hasil analisis penelitian, model  discovery learning berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis siswa.Kata Kunci: pengaruh, representasi matematis,  discovery learning

Abstract

This is quasi-experimental research with posttest only control group design that aimed to determine the effectiveness of STAD cooperative learning using audio-visual media towards students' mathematics achievement. The population was all students of X grade of SMA Negeri 15 Bandar Lampung with samples were all students of X1 and X2 class that were selected by purposive random sampling technique. Based on the analysis of data, it can be concluded that there was no difference students’  achievement between STAD cooperative learning using audio-visual media and conventional learning.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan desain penelitian posttest only control group design yang bertujuan  untuk mengetahui efektivitas pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dengan pemanfaatan media audio visual terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 15 Bandar Lampung dengan sampel siswa kelas X1 dan X2 yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik purposive random sampling. Berdasarkan analisis data dari pengujian hipotesis diperoleh kesimpulan tidak ada perbedaan hasil belajar siswa menggunakan pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dengan pemanfaatan media audio visual dibandingkan pembelajaran konvensional. Kata kunci: audio visual, hasil belajar matematika, STAD

Abstract

This research aimed to know the effectiveness of problem based learning model in terms of students mathematical problem solving ability, percentage of students who reach mastery learning, and mathematical disposition. The population of this research was all students of grade 8th of SMPN 23 Bandar Lampung in academic year of 2014/2015 that was distributed into 9 classes. The sample of this research was determined by purposive sampling technique. This research used one group pretest posttest design. The result of data analysis showed that problem based learning model was effective in terms of students mathematical problem solving ability, but it wasnt effective in terms of percentage of students who reached mastery learning and students mathematical disposition.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model problem based learning ditinjau dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa, persentase siswa tuntas belajar, dan disposisi matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 23 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2014/2015 yang terdistribusi dalam sembilan kelas. Sampel penelitian ini ditentukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan one group pretest posttest design. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa model problem based learning efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis, tetapi tidak efektif ditinjau dari persentase siswa tuntas belajar dan disposisi matematis siswa.Kata kunci: disposisi matematis, pemecahan masalah, problem based learning

Abstract

This research used posttest only control group design. The population of this research was all students of grade VIII of SMP Negeri 8 Bandar Lampung in academic year of 2016/2017. Through purposive and random sampling technique, 2 classes were taken as the samples. Based on the result of research, it was concluded that problem based learning model was effective in terms of students critical thinking ability and self confidence.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model problem based learning ditinjau dari kemampuan berpikir kritis dan self confidence siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan posttest only control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 8 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2016/2017. Melalui teknik gabungan yaitu teknik purposive dan random sampling, 2 kelas diambil sebagai sampel. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disimpulkan bahwa model problem based learning efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan berpikir kritis dan self confidence siswa.Kata kunci: berpikir kritis, problem based learning, self confidence

Abstract

This research aimed to find out the effectiveness of Realistic Mathematic Education approach in terms of students understanding of mathematical concepts. The population of this research was students of grade VII in SMP Negeri 1 Adiluwih in academic year of 2016/2017 that were distributed into 6 classes. The samples of this research were students of VII A and VII B class which were chosen by purposive and random sampling technique. The design was posttest only control group design. Analysis data of the research used t-test. Research data were obtained through test of understanding of mathematical concepts. Based on the result of the research, it was concluded that Realistic Mathematic Education approach was not effective in terms of students' understanding of mathematical concepts. But, the students understanding of mathematical concepts which was taught by Realistic Mathematic Education approach was better than students understanding of mathematical concepts which was not taught by Realistic Mathematic Education approach.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pendekatan Realistic Mathematic Education ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Adiluwih tahun pelajaran 2016/2017 yang terdistribusi dalam 6 kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa pada kelas VII A dan VII B yang diambil dengan teknik purposive dan teknik random sampling. Desain yang digunakan adalah posttest only control group design. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan t-test. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes pemahaman konsep matematis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan Realistic Mathematic Education tidak efektif ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Namun, pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan menggunakan pendekatan realistic mathematic education lebih tinggi daripada pemahaman konsep matematis siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran tanpa menggunakan pendekatan realistic mathematic education.Kata kunci: efektivitas, pendekatan realistic mathematic education, pemahaman konsep matematis.

Abstract

This quasi experimental research aimed to determine the influence of problem based learning towards student's mathematical reflective thinking ability and self confidence. The research population were all students grades VIII of SMP Negeri 22 Bandarlampung in academic year of 2017/2018 that were distributed into eleven classes. The research sample were grades VIII F and VIII H that were chosen by purposive sampling technique. The research design was the pretest-postest control group design. The data analysis used is t-test and t’-test. The research result shows that gain of student’s mathematical reflective thinking ability in problem based learning class is higher than in conventional learning class, and self confidence isn’t higher than. Based on results and discussion, it can be concluded that problem based learning model has influence towards student's mathematical reflective thinking ability, but hasn't influence towards student's self confidence.Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh problem based learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir reflektif matematis dan self confidence siswa. Populasi penelitian seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 22 Bandarlampung tahun pelajaran 2017/2018 yang terdistribusi dalam sebelas kelas. Sampel penelitian dua kelas yaitu kelas VIII F dan VIII H yang diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Desain yang digunakan adalah the pretest-posttest control group design. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji  dan . Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan berpikir reflektif matematis siswa yang mengikuti problem based learning lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional, sedangkan yang self confidence tidak lebih tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil dan pembahasan diperoleh simpulan bahwa problem based learning berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir reflektif matematis, namun tidak berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan self confidence siswa. Kata kunci: berpikir reflektif, problem based learning, self confidence

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of problem-based learning model in terms of the ability to think critically and mathematical representation of grade VIII students at a State Junior High School in Bandarlampung City. The population in this study are all students of class VIII distributed in eleven classes. The samples of this study are the students of two classes VIII whose class is selected by purposive random sampling technique. The research design is Pre-test Post-test Control Group Design. Mann-Whitney U non parametric test results on critical thinking and mathematical representation, indicating that H0 is rejected, thus drawn the conclusion that mathematical critical thinking and mathematical representation of students who follow PBL is higher than mathematical critical thinking and mathematical representation of students following learning conventional. The proportion test shows that the percentage of students who have critical thinking skills and mathematical representations are categorized well in the class using the PBL more than 60% of the number of students. The result of the research shows that learning with effective PBL model is viewed from critical thinking ability and student's mathematical representation Keywords:  Problem Based Learning, Critical thinking, Mathematical Representation
