This research aimed to know the effectiveness of problem based learning model in terms of students mathematical problem solving ability, percentage of students who reach mastery learning, and mathematical disposition. The population of this research was all students of grade 8th of SMPN 23 Bandar Lampung in academic year of 2014/2015 that was distributed into 9 classes. The sample of this research was determined by purposive sampling technique. This research used one group pretest posttest design. The result of data analysis showed that problem based learning model was effective in terms of students mathematical problem solving ability, but it wasnt effective in terms of percentage of students who reached mastery learning and students mathematical disposition.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model problem based learning ditinjau dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa, persentase siswa tuntas belajar, dan disposisi matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 23 Bandar Lampung tahun pelajaran 2014/2015 yang terdistribusi dalam sembilan kelas. Sampel penelitian ini ditentukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan one group pretest posttest design. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa model problem based learning efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis, tetapi tidak efektif ditinjau dari persentase siswa tuntas belajar dan disposisi matematis siswa.Kata kunci: disposisi matematis, pemecahan masalah, problem based learning
