Abstract

Corn (Zea mays L.) is one of the most widely cultivated commodities in the world after rice. This study aims to (1) evaluate the most effective database available at Harzing's Publish or Perish software with a year-range search method and the use of additional keywords to obtain the highest number of manuscripts from journal sources relevant to maize hybrids in the field of plant science and agriculture and (2) assess the publication of articles and types of reviews on hybrid maize research related to plant science and agricultural by mapping and visualizing of bibliometric analysis. The data of bibliometric analysis was collected from PubMed, Google Scholar, Semantic Scholar, and CrossRef in Harzing's Publish or Perish software. The keyword used in this research was "hybrid maize" with the year of publication of the article 1962-2021. CrossRef  has the highest number of total relevant manuscripts compared to the others. The search method for years is the most effective and efficient if the number of manuscripts is less than 1000. The topic of hybrid maize was mainly published in 2020. The journal that published the most on maize hybrid was Crop Science, especially from 1982- 2011. VOSviewer keyword analysis found that there were 5 clusters from 122 items, 1851 links, and total link strength of 5516. The topic of hybrid maize has been massively published since 2010. Apart from that, hybrid maize and gene were also the two most discussed topics.

Abstract

South Solok Regency is one of the potential areas for rice development in West Sumatra Province. The local rice in South Solok Regency is a type of rice that can potentially be developed for germplasm conservation. One genetic resource that needs to be developed is abiotic and biotic resistance to conserve germplasm so that the local rice plants in South Solok can be maintained on certain lands. The first step that must be taken in conservation efforts is to find, identify and collect local rice genotypes in South Solok Regency. This study aimed to explore and characterize the morphology of local grain and rice in Solok Selatan Regency. This study used a survey method, and the exploration location was determined by purposive sampling. The survey results found 18 local South Solok rice genotypes from four sub-districts. The results of grain morphological characterization showed differences in quantitative properties (length, width, thickness, and weight of 100 grains of grain and caryopsis and grain tail length) as well as differences in qualitative characteristics (lemma and palea color, rice color (caryopsis) and shape, rice (caryopsis). Dendrogram results from cluster analysis of 18 local rice genotypes of South Solok, the coefficient of similarity was between 0.27 – 0.64 (27 -64%) with the highest similarity coefficient of genotypes G013 (rambuman variety) and G016 (redek sangir variety) with a value of 0.64 (64%).

Abstract

Mesenchymal stem cell is a technology that is immunodulatory which is able to repair tissue damage in the skin and overcome various inflammatory diseases. One of the cytokines that can repair tissue damage and overcome inflammation is interleukin-10. The purpose of this research to to systematically review the literature on science trends, knowledge and publication, especially the identification of interleukin-10 in mesenchymal stem cells using bibliometric analysis. A total of one hundread journals obtained from the Google Scholar database for 2016 – 2023 were used in this study. To find out the overall trend on this research topic, the keywords (Mesenchymal stem cell, interleukin-10 and inflammation) that often appear in journal publication are then visualized and mapped using application Vosviewer software. The results showed that there was an increase in research of identification interleukin-10 in Mesenchymal stem cells in various journals as well as research on the characterization and utilization of Mesenchymal stem cells in skin regeneration.

Abstract

As a genetic resource, local rice can provide insight into the inheritance of favorable traits. Local rice varieties have naturally been tested for resistance to pests and diseases, high yields, good rice quality (including class 1 quality), and a taste that people like, but also have some disadvantages, such as long life and high plant height that easily collapses. For this reason, the characteristics of local rice varieties that have these advantages are improved using the gamma-ray induced mutation technique. Before planting in the field, it is necessary to test the vigor and viability of local rice genotypes (Oryza sativa L.) Padang Pariaman seeds first. In this study, researchers used three different rice varieties, namely: "Madang Pulau", "Putiah Papanai", and "Banang Kuniang" and gamma irradiation, with radiation doses of 0, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, and 600 Gy. Based on the results of the study, the local rice seed varieties of Padang Pariaman Regency and the dose of gamma irradiation had a significant effect on maximum germination, while germination speed, germination capacity, vigor index, and growth uniformity were significantly affected by the dose of gamma irradiation. Gamma irradiation with doses of 400-600 Gy resulted in a more significant decrease in seed vigor and viability compared to irradiation with doses of 100-300 Gy.
