Abstract

Abstract Background: The intervention program for preventing and controlling hypertension is a challenge for health workers, one of which is by helping individuals do self-management (Self-Care) to overcome hypertension, this can increase their self-confidence (Self-Efficacy) to live with chronic diseases. Self-management is an individual's ability to carry out self-care activities to maintain life, improve, and maintain individual health and well-being. E-Kalpin is a visual-based education developed to improve patient self-management in comorbid patients. Patients can use E-Kalpin as a medium that helps them supervise and control blood pressure. This study aimed to see the effectiveness of E-Kalpin's self-management as a predictor of hemodynamics in patients with hypertension during the covid pandemic. Method: This study used a quasi-experimental research design with a pretest-posttest approach with a control group. The population in this study were all patients with hypertension in the Aur Duri Public Health Center working area with a sample group of 30 respondents. The researcher used the E-Kalpin media as a media instrument which was arranged in the form of a questionnaire to obtain information and data from respondents. Results: This study resulted in a relationship between the use of the E-Kalpin application as a medium to assist them in supervising and controlling their illness. The statistical test results obtained a p-value of 0.018, meaning that at 5% alpha there was a significant difference in the average of the kalpin group and the control group. This means that using E-Kalpin can assist people with hypertension in their self-management thus it can be used as a hemodynamic predictor in daily activities. Conclusion: Health workers can use E-Kalpin as an educational medium that helps people with hypertension to predict the hemodynamics of the body in controlling blood pressure. For further research, it is recommended to examine various supporting factors or other variables that affect the use of E-Kalpin application media to assist patients in controlling blood pressure.

Abstract

There are variations in the prevalence of stunting cases at the village level in Kerinci Regency. There have been no studies on the spatial distribution and risk factors of stunting cases in Kerinci Regency. This study aimed to determine the risk factors and spatial distribution of stunting. This research was conducted in Kerinci Regency from March to November 2020 using a case-control design and a total sampling technique. The study participants consisted of 223 patients and 223 controls. Children who experienced stunting were recorded at the health office. The controls were non-stunted children with an age range (±3 months) and sex who came from the same village as the cases—data collection through interview techniques and observation of the Mother and Child Health book. The chi-square test, logistic regression, and spatial distribution analysis were performed using the open-source software SatScan 10,1 and ArGIS 3,30. The analysis shows stunting cases clustered in Kayu Aro, Gunung Tujuh, and Keliling Danau Districts. A low father's education level (aOR=1,76), father's height <161 cm (aOR=1,52), mother's height <150 cm (aOR=1,83), and incomplete immunization status (aOR=1,6) were risk factors for stunting. In conclusion, cases of stunting clustered in three sub-districts, and the leading risk factor was the mother's height. The health office should make specific intervention efforts before and during pregnancy and focus on cluster-indicated areas.

Abstract

Patient loyalty will be created if the hospital is able to provide quality services that create the best values for patients thereby increasing patient satisfaction.Failure to understand quality of service, patient value, and patient satisfaction will risk losing patient loyalty to hospital services. This study aims to analyze the model of hospital patient loyalty as the effect of service quality, patient value and patient satisfaction. A cross sectional study was conducted through a survey among inpatients at eight hospitals in Jambi Province-Indonesia. A four-point likert scale was used to measure construct variables and analyzed using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Model. The results showed that the influence between factors in the coefficient path has a significant effect, except for the indirect effect between service quality and patient loyalty through value. Hospital management practitioners should focus on developing service quality improvement strategies that are able to create value for patients so as to increase satisfaction and ultimately encourage and maintain patient loyalty.Hospitals can take advantage of this research model as a self-evaluation instrument to achieve patient loyalty so as to increase hospital revenue and reputation.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Stunting is still a public health problem in Indonesia, as well as in Jambi Province. The incidence of stunting in toddlers in Jambi Province reached 30.2% (2018). Even though there is a decrease in stunting in 2021 based on a survey of the nutritional status of toddlers to 22.4%, it has not yet reached the target set by SDG's. DASHAT innovation cadre training activities in the three districts where the assistance is located, namely Tebo, Bungo, and Kerinci Regencies. Participants involved in this activity were 50 people in each district consisting of five trained cadres from 10 villages where the focus was on stunting management. The number of training participants was 150 cadres in 3 districts. The majority of training participants were women (94.8%), the majority were early adulthood (26-35 years) namely 37.9%. The average knowledge score before the training was 5.19 and increased to 5.45 after the training. There is an effect of the training on the level of knowledge of the participants before and after the training (P-value = 0.031). Participants who had good knowledge before training was 45.5%, increasing to 53.0%. There is an increase in understanding and skills as well as motivation in each participant who is trained. It is hoped that the training participants will be able to apply what they get during the training to the community and be able to become a driving force so that the acceleration of stunting reduction in the village area of each cadre can be realized as expected.
