Abstract

The objective of this research was to develop the student’s activity sheet as support the implementation. This research used a research and development Research and Development (R & D) with 4-D model of development that includes Definition, Design, Develop and Disseminate. Research and development conducted in the Laboratory of the Department of Study Program of Chemistry Education PMIPA the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education University of Riau. The object of this research was the students’ activity paper based on the problem solving. The data analysis techniques used in the study was descriptive statistical analysis, by calculating the percentage of validation value. The average score of the five aspects of student’s activity sheet by validator’s team, such as the content properness, presentation, didactic, construction (linguistic) and technical (graphical) respectively has a value of eligibility 89.58%, 93.75%,90, 96.67% and 89.5%, totality score validation is 91.9% meaning the student’s activity sheet developed (LKPD Developed) is proper be use in chemistry learning.Key Words: Student Activity Sheet, Problem Solving, Ksp

Abstract

The research aims to develop devices integrated learning Malay culture in the form of RPP, LKPD and evaluation tools to improve character education learners. This type of research is the development of research (research and the development) with the procedural model. Research has been conducted in the development of chemistry teaching lab FKIP Riau University from June to November 2016. The prototype learning device generated through research is Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) consisting of 4x meeting, Activity Sheet Students (LKPD) for 4x meetings and 1 set of tools evaluation. Product prototype learning device has been evaluated by 3 validator. Data collected through questionnaires and observation techniques. The data analysis technique is a descriptive quantitative by calculating the percentage of the value of the validation. The average score ratings seventh aspect of the RPP is 95.95% with a valid category. The average score of the four aspects of the feasibility assessment LKPD is 95.95% with a valid category. The average score of all fifth aspects of the feasibility assessment evaluation tool was 94.58% with a valid category. While the percentage of learners response to LKPD is 97.36% which is at the criteria very well.

Abstract

Research of development that held to produce student worksheet (SWS) based on valid inquiry, practice, and effective to complete courses of chemistry learning strategy. The method that used is research of development. The research used consists of four steps, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate, because the limit of time and cost, research just used until to development step. Data of research collected through evaluation sheets filled by validator. Internal validation of SWS describe that SWS writing contain indicators assessment, writing use capital letters, the distance between topic letter with information letter was different, but still used more than 10 words in line. For contain assessment can used by students with various understanding, yet include steps to find, but give various activities (read, discuss, and answer). SWS give opportunities to find different information because instruction that used in exercise requires students to read paper and another book. This activity can develop social and emotional relation, because students werediscuss in their group. Language that used has same with intellectual level of students. Format assessment describe that SWS have a title, purpose, resume, work steps, questions and include reference, also table. It requires students to implement the examples in learning activity.

Abstract

The study has been conducted to natural produce based Student- Worksheet (SW) using red fruit buds for acid-base topic. This study is classified as the developmental research. The produced worksheet has been validated through 3 assessments criteria : format, content, and technical. The average score is 3.30 which is considered appropiate to use. From the limited try out at SMA Tribakti and SMA Taruna Pekanbaru, the average gained score is 3.21 which is include as appropiate. From the teachers assessment, the average score is 3.55. That is categorized in to appropiate. The produced worksheet is considered appropiate to be used for the lab work for the acid-base topic.Keyword : Student-worksheet, natural produce, and red fruit buds, acid-base

Abstract

Abstract: This research was conducted in order to obtain proper compositions and the standard condition for the simple filtration equipments and optimum operational conditions in adsorption column. The research was carried out by analyzing parameters COD and TSS. The result showed that the process was able to reduced parameters observed from filtration step until the process in adsorptions column. The optimum conditions for sand filter equipment were 10 cm sand height, at least 7 cm fibers, 3-4 cm gravel. In the adsorption column, the optimum conditions for green waste water were flow rate at 40 ml/min 60 min adsorptions time, and 60 cm bed height. While purple for waste water; 20 mL/min of flowrate, 60 min of adsorption time, and the 60 cm of bed heightKey words: dye solution, COD, TSS, sand filtration, adsorption column Abstrak (Indonesian): Penelitian mengenai pengolahan limbah cair hasil pencelupan benang songket dengan metode filtrasi dan adsorpsi telah dilaksanakan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendapatkan komposisi dan ukuran yang tepat bagi alat penyaring sederhana dan mendapatkan kondisi operasi yang tepat bagi kolom adsorpsi.  Parameter pengamatan adalah kadar COD dan TSS.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa telah terjadi penurunan kadar limbah sejak tahap penyaringan hingga proses di kolom adsorpsi.  Kondisi optimum alat penyaring sederhana adalah ketebalan pasir 10 cm, ijuk minimal 7 cm, kerikil 3-4 cm dan penambahan tawas sebanyak 2g/L limbah.  Pada kolom adsorpsi kondisi optimum adalah kecepatan alir 40 mL/menit, waktu tinggal di kolom 60 menit dan ketinggian unggun batubara 60 cm.Kata kunci: limbah cair pencelupan, bahan-bahan berbahaya, filtrasi pasir, kolom adsorpsi

Abstract

Hydrogen is viewed as one of the most potential energy source in the future. One of methods to produce hydrogen is by electrolysis of water. Variables that was applied in this work were electrical current (0.5 A and 0.9 A), pH (13.47 and 13.69), and electrolyte additions (namely NaOH and KOH) with processing times for 30 minutes. The result of this work were variations of electrical current at 0.9 A, pH at 13.69 and electrolyte NaOH is at 278.394 L with volume rate 154.663 mL/s produced most amount of hydrogen, whereas condition of 0.5 A, pH 13.47 and electrolyte KOH was 75.122 L with volume rate of 41.734 mL/s yielded the lowest amount.

Abstract

Rubber seed as a biomass is potentially used as the source of alternative energy in briquette. Previous research had found that rubber seed briquette has the highest heating value of 6287,8 cal/g. It can be increased by varying temperature and mesh size. In this research, the effect of temperature and particle size on the amount of heat of rubber seed biobriquette from Muarakuang (Batu Raja) was investigated. It was done in Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya Palembang laboratory. Proximate analysis was executed in Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya Palembang coal laboratory. The temperature varied of 250 oC, 500 oC, and 750 oC with the particle size varied by 80 mesh, 120 mesh, and 200 mesh. Quality test of fabricated biobriquette consisted of proximate analysis such as calorific value, inherent moisture, ash ratio, volatile matter ratio, and fixed carbon ratio. The highest of heating value was 6836 cal/g from biobriquette sample were found under particle size of 80 mesh and temperature of 250 oC. The heating value reached 5371 cal/g which the particle size was 200 mesh and temperature of 750 oC. The heating value of biobriquette were compared with Indonesian National Standardization (SNI), which met with the standard of heating value (5000 cal/g).

Abstract

Abstract: It has been applied the Power of Two active learning strategy to know the improvement student learning achievement on the subject of Colloid in class XI IPA of Senior High School Number 9 Pekanbaru. The research is a kind of experiment research with pretest-posttest design. The samples of this research were the students of class XI IPA 5 as the experimental class and students of class XI IPA 3 as the control class. Experimental class is a class which was given a treatment by applying active learning strategy type The Power of Two in learning process. The data were analyzed by using t-test. Based on the result of data analysis, it obtained tcount>ttable which is 1.96>1.67. It means that the application of active learning strategy type The Power of Two can improve student learning achievement on the subject of colloid in class XI IPA of Senior High School Number 9 Pekanbaru. The improvement category of student achievement at experiment class was high category with N-gain is 0.78. Meanwhile, the improvement category of student achievement in control class was medium category with N-gain is 0.69.Keywords: Active learning strategy, The Power of Two, Achievement, Colloid

Abstract

Abstract: The research aims to increase student learning achievement on the subject compounds nomenclature and chemical reaction equation of elements in class X SMAN 14 Pekanbaru. This research was of experiment research with pretest-posttest design. The research was conducted in SMAN 14 Pekanbaru. The samples of this research were the students of class X.4 as the experimental class and students of class X.3 as the control class. In experimental class was applied cooperative learning model type pair exchange technique, while the control class was not. Data analysis technique used is the t-test. Based on analysis of data obtained tcount>ttable is 6,41 > 1,67 means that the application of model cooperative learning type pair exchange can improve student achievement on the subject compounds nomenclature and chemical reaction equation of elements in class X SMAN 14 Pekanbaru increase learning achievement category in the experimental class is based on the normalized gain score (N-Gain) relatively high at 0,73.Keywords: Cooperative Learning, Pair Exchange, Learning Achievement, Compounds Nomenclatur and Chemical Reaction Equation

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to develop Lectora Inspire based learning media on the subject of chemical bonding for high school students / equal valid based on didactic aspects, technical aspects, and aspects of the construct. The method used is the Research and Development (RnD) with the development process using the model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation). ADDIE model development study performed only to a point Development (Development), for the purpose of this study was limited to develop and produce a valid instructional media to be implemented based on an assessment of the validator. This study was conducted from March-November 2016. The result of the validation by media development validator obtained a percentage of average assessment of the three aspects of 79,66% (80%) in good category, and the percentage obtained from the students by 85,63% and 85,33% of the teachers, which are good to use. Based on the results of research and discussion can be concluded that the media-based learning Lectora Inspire developed on the subject of chemical bonds are valid for use in learning chemistry for high school students / equivalent.Keywords: Computer-Based Learning Media, Lectora Inspire, Institute of Chemistry.
