Abstract

Indonesian students have low science literacy skills. It is known from PISA results that Indonesian students’ average score is lower than international average score. The purpose of this study is to find out the influence of contextual teaching and learning on students’ science aspects. The method used is pre-experimental with one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study is the fifth grade students of SDN Situraja in 2016/2017 academic year, which amounted to 63 students. The instrument used is science literacy test type description that refers to science literacy aspect. The results showed a significant increase in science literacy skills after applied contextual teaching and learning. But, there was no significant difference between male and female students. However, there are differences in basic intelligence and social factors between male and female students.

Abstract

Berdasarkan data awal yang diambil dari siswa kelas V SDN Cibodas I, hasil belajar siswa pada materi daur air dan peristiwa alam masih rendah. Hal ini disebabkan oleh pembelajaran yang berpusat kepada guru sehingga siswa kurang aktif dalam pembelajaran. Upaya yang digunakan untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut yaitu penggunaan model Problem Based Learning berbantuan Multimedia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan desain penelitian yang mengacu pada model Spiral Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart, yang terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, tahap pelaksanaan, tahap observasi dan tahap refleksi. Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan, diperoleh hasil belajar siswa pada materi daur air dan peristiwa alam pada siklus I terdapat 70%, siklus II 85%, dan pada siklus III menjadi 100%. Dengan demikian penerapan Problem Based Learning berbantuan Multimedia pada materi daur air dan peristiwa alam dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas V SDN Cibodas I.Kata Kunci: Problem Based Learning, Multimedia, Hasil belajar, Daur air dan peristiwa alam.

Abstract

Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan menggunakan inkuiri terbimbing dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan pada proses pembelajaran dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas V. Tujuan dilaksanakannya penelitian ini untuk mengetahui dan menjelaskan proses pembelajaran dan peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa menggunakan inkuiri terbimbing pada materi daur air. Inkuiri terbimbing memiliki lima tahapan pembelajaran. Keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa yang di tingkatkan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan 5 indikator yaitu memberikan penjelasan sederhana, membangun keterampilan dasar, menyimpulkan, memberikan penjelasan lanjut, serta mengatur strategi dan taktik. Desain PTK dalam penelitian ini adalah desain yang dikembangkan oleh kemmis taggart yang terdiri dari tiga siklus. Partisipan penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas V SDN Cimalaka II.Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa mengalami peningkatan pada tiap siklusnya. Nilai rata-rata hasil tes siswa adalah 57,5 pada siklus I, 70,4 pada siklus II dan 80,4 pada siklus III. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah pembeljaran dengan inkuiri terbimbing meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa.

Abstract

In Indonesia , student ability of science literacy is still not optimal. This is known from the fact that obtained based on the latest PISA survey result in 2015. The score of Indonesian student science literacy ability is below the average of international score. Indonesia obtain 403 score, while the average of international score is 500. Depart from this problem, designed comics “Hari Ini Hujan” as a medium of science learning. This research uses pre-experimental design type one group pretest-posttest design, with fifth grade students of SDN Paseh I, Paseh II and Legok I as sample. The research instrument used test of science literacy, self-assessment questionnaire and teacher performance observation. Obtained P-value (Sig.2-tailed) = 0,000 from test the difference of two averages which mean that comics “Hari Ini Hujan” can improve fifth grade student ability of science literacy on the water cycle study.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran CTL dan modelpembelajaran konvensional terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa serta mengetahuiperbedaan peningkatan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model CTL dengan modelpembelajaran konvensional. Metode penelitian ini adalah eksperimen dengan desainpenelitian kelompok kontrol pretes-postes. Penelitian dilakukan pada SDN Panyingkiran III danSDN Padasuka I. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dannontes; observasi, wawancara, angket dan catatan lapangan. Berdasarkan penelitian yangtelah dilakukan, didapatkan bahwa kedua model pembelajaran memberikan pengaruh; nilairata-rata pretes 50,65 dan postes 65,98 untuk kelas eksperimen sedangkan untuk kelaskontrol nilai rata-rata pretes 43,98 sedangkan postes 57,63, dan meningkatkan kemampuanberpikir kritis siswa. Namun, tidak terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan kedua kelassecara signifikan. Hal ini terlihat dari uji-U didapatkan nilai 0,23. Artinya tidak terdapatperbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang menggunakan modelpembelajaran CTL dan model pembelajaran konvensional pada materi energi panas.

Abstract

Student learning outcomes are the most important thing in learning activities. The success of students in learning is influenced by the ferformance of good teachers and the activity of student in classroom, especially in science lessons that emphasizes students to play an active role during learning activitis. One the learning approaches that can be used to improve student activity in classroom is Discovery approach. This research was conducted using PTK, and model used is spiral Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. Discovery approach. Subject research are student SDN Sukasirna II subdistrict Sumedang Selatan residential Sumedang. Instrument in this study are observation guidelines ferformance teacher, activities student, test results, interview teacher, interview student, field notes, and dokumentation. Based on the results of research using Discovery approach can improve student learning outcomes. This can be see in the creasestudent learning outcomes.

Abstract

Problem Based Learning to Improve Science Literacy on Food Relation with Health. Science literacy is ability to review a problem or phenomenon on the point of science view. Science literacy can be enhanced trough the problem-solving process in science learning. Teacher roles as the information center, transforms into facilitator, motivator and creator to help construct student knowledge. Problem based learning process allows students to be actively involved because  given the opportunity to solve a problem related to an event.. Problem-based learning affects both the science literacy students of class V on the relationship of food to health. This is evidenced by the research using pre-experiment method with pretest-postest one group design which shows that problem-based learning can significantly increase students literacy ability in high, medium and low group. Based on the results of the study problem-based learning can be used as a solution to improve literacy skills of elementary school students.

Abstract

This research is based on the result of the research in PISA 2015 that science literacy on students is still low. Indonesia that ranked 69 from 76 countries with the average score is still 403 and it means in above average of international score that has 493. One of learning that can increase science literacy on students is problem based learning. It uses the learning that base on problem and the differences of the increasing scale of students’ behavior on science. The method and design in this research uses pre-experimental method and one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this research are 4th grade elementary students in Kecamatan Palasah with the subjects are from SDN Waringin II and SDN Palasah I. The result of the research shows that learning that based on problem can advance students’ science literacy on those three groups. However, there are the differences the increasing level on those three groups and also the difference of the increasing scale on those three groups.

Abstract

This research is motived by the problem of low student learning outcomes on the material influences the motion and shape of objects in class IV SDN Cipameungpeuk Sumedang Subdistrict South Sumedang District. Improvement efforts to overcome these problems by appliying the SAVI approach with Classroom Action Research methods that implemented 3 cycles and each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Each aspect has a significant improvement in each cycle, with teacher performance percentage at 57% initial data, 84% cycle I, 91% cycle II, and 100% cycle III. For percentage of activity ininitial data obtained 0%, cycle I 17%, cycle II 54%, and 92% cycle III.  Thus it can be concluded that the implementation of SAVI approach can improve student learning outcomes on the material style affect the motion and shape of objects

Abstract

The importance of mathematical communication ability and confidence of students in learning is the background of this research. Therefore, this research will implement a icooperative modell iof type Numbered Heads Together (NHT) iin lthe llearning process. That is because of the model of cooperative deals with mathematical communication skills and self-confidence of students. As for the purpose of research, namely thei applicatiion oft the cooperatiive modell oif type iNumbered Headsf Togetherx (NHTo) as an attempt to improve the mathematical communication skills and confidence elementary school students. This includes research into the types of research design experimental non-quasi equgivalent coentrol groupl. Thze vpopulation hin thisb study are gradel IV elementary school District. Lemahabang Kab. Cirebon. While the research sample is SDN Cipeujeuh Kulon 1 as class experiments and SDN Cipeujeuh Kulon 2 as the class of the control. The instruments used are a matter pre test and post test, now the confidence of the students, teachers, performance observation guidelines and the guidelines for the observation of activity of students. The results showed that the existence of a significant difference in mathematical ability improvement and confidence of students both in the classroom experiments as well as the class of the control. It is proved by the results of test calculations of average difference values of gain using a test-T sample of mathematical communication ability for free and test-U for the confidence of students. On mathematical communication skills acquired P-value (Sig 1-tailed) of 0.009, while confidence is obtained P-value (Sig 1-tailed) by 0.0043. It can be concluded that increased the ability of mathematical communication and self-confidence of students who follow learning model cooperative type NHT more significant compared to students who follow the conventional learning.
