Abstract

People in the village Ranah Singkuang who do not have family toilets still use the land, shrubs and streams to defecate, it was incompatible with the rules of health, so that they can transmit diseases and health problems. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between education, knowledge, attitudes, conditions of latrines and the role of extension with the participation of the community in the use of family latrines in the village of Ranah Singkuang Kampar by using Analytic Survey method with cross sectional design. Research conducted on 64 samples of defined population of 149 people in the village of Ranah Singkuang Kampar district in Riau province. Research shows that education, knowledge and attitudes as predisposing factors have the meaningful relationships with community participation in the use of household toilets, attitude is the most influential factor in which a good attitude will affect eight times participated both in the use of household toilets. As well as enabling factors (conditions of latrines) and reinforcing factors (the role of extension workers) also has a significant relationship with public participation in usage of toilet in the Ranah Singkuang village . Adverse effects as a result of low participation in the use of household toilets are contaminate soil, water and aesthetics, giving rise to the spread of disease to society.

Abstract

Buffalo breeding system in pekandangan culture in Kuantan Singingi Regencycontains diversity patterns of adaptation to the environment and the values of local wisdomwhich is a form of knowledge that is combined with traditional norms, cultural values andenvironmental management activities that guide the community in meeting the needs of liveand interact with their environment is still very relevant to the current conditions, and shouldbe preserved, adapted or even developed further in accordance with the concept ofsustainability. This study aims to analyze the forms of local wisdom in pekandangan culturein accordance with the concept of sustainable buffalo breeding systems, analyze activity andcultural barriers in pekandangan culture, and analyze public perceptions of the pekandanganculture. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method approach. Datacollection using observation, interview and documentation. In-depth interviews conductedwith key informants: breeders, chairman of the group of pekandangan, traditional leaders,community leaders, village chiefs and Dinas Peternakan of Kuantan Singingi Regencyofficials. Structured interview was conducted to determine the public perception of therespondents were community residing 0.5-3 km of pekandangan area.The results of the studyas follows: (1) The forms of local wisdom in accordance with the concept of sustainablebuffalo breeding systems in the pekandangan culture is cage architecture uses the directsunlight, the cage material is made of organic or renewable materials, utilizing buffalo dunginto manure, bonfire material from organic ingredients, free fodder pesticides, buffalograzing by means of foot, and the existence of regular meeting of pekandangan groups /societies and mutual help activities. (2) Public perception of pekandangan culture is goodbecause it provides benefits and economic advantages, can improve people's lives and have asocial system.

Abstract

Abstrak: The study aimed to determine adiwiyata program effects on knowledge, behaviour and skills of students and teachers also compared schools that have implemented the adiwiyata program with schools that have not implemented adiwiyata program. This study is a quantitative descriptive research. The subjects were students and teachers of SMK Negeri 1 Pangkalan Kerinci and SMK Negeri 1 Bunut with total 194 people. The data collection methode used were questionnaires, interviews and observations, data analysis technique using Chi-square test with SPSS version 20 for windows. Results of the study Chi Square test showed between SMK 1 Pangkalan Kerinci with SMKN 1 Bunut about students' knowledge Chi Square count 140.437 and Chi Square table 101.879, student behavior Chi Square count 102.920 and Chi Square tables 101.879 and attitudes Chi Square count 101 994 and Chi Square tables 101.879. Knowledge, attitudes and skills of teachers Chi Square test results Chi Square count of 10,000 and Chi Square Table 18.307. It can be concluded that the existence of a significant difference of knowledge, attitudes and skills of students between SMK 1 Pangkalan Kerinci with SMKN 1 Bunut, because the value of Chi Square count is greater than the value of Chi Square table and there was no significant difference about knowledge, attitudes and skills teacher between SMKN 1 Pangkalan Kerinci with SMKN 1 Bunut, because there is a calculated value of Chi Square is smaller than the value of Chi Square table.

Abstract

Abstract: The number of boiler chicken farm located in the community felt starting to annoy people, especially the chicken farm located close to residential areas. Many people complained about the bad effects of the operations of the boiler chicken farm because there are many farmers who ignore the handling of waste of effort. The impact that can arise is the smell of chicken farms, the emergence of flies and fears spread of bird flu virus. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between the sewage smell chicken farm on the incidence of psychosomatic symptoms in a residential community surrounding villages cage Sei Lembu Makmur 2014. The design of this study analytic observational, cross-sectional study approach. This research was conducted in the month of January to August 2014. The sample in this study that people around the cage which amounts to 43 respondents. Data was collected through questionnaires and a doctor's diagnosis. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis were processed using the computerized system and Lambda test. The results showed that respondents ammonia contaminated and uncontaminated 21 people 22 people (51.2 %), which has a disturbing perception as many as 23 people (53.5 %) and did not interfere with 20 people (46.5 %) and respondents who had psychosomatic disorders is 13 people (30.2 %) and not psychosomatic 30 people (69.8%) .Based Lambda test showed that there was no relationship between the concentration of ammonia with psychosomatic disorders in settlements around the cage Sei Lembu Makmur (p = 1.000> 0.05) and there was no relationship between perception and psychosomatic disorders in the settlements around the cage Sei Lembu Makmur (p = 0.462> 0.05). For the people around the cage explain to the public that air pollution by ammonia due to the smell of the chicken coop with the highest ammonia concentration of 3.32 ppm which means no influence posed to human health.
