Abstract

This study aims to determine the mathematical connection ability of elementary school students in solving mathematical problems. This research uses the qualitative approach with descriptive method. We used observation, interview, and test to collect data. This study shows that 6.67% of the samples scored between 60 and 69 in the fair category. A total of 98 students or 81.67% scored between 45 and 59 who belonged to the below average category, and 14 students or 11.67% scored between 0 and 44 which were classified as a poor category. This result proves that the mathematical connection ability of elementary school students in solving mathematics problems is still low.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the absence of data regarding the ability of mathematical connections for elementary school students. This study aims to analyse the mathematical connection ability of elementary school students in solving mathematical problems. This research is descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques use observation, tests and interviews. The research steps are designing research, determining location, preparing research instruments, validating and revising tools, testing, analysing data, summarising, and presenting research data. The results showed that the weak mathematical connection ability of elementary school students in solving mathematical problems. Abstrak Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh tidak adanya data mengenai kemampuan koneksi matematika untuk siswa sekolah dasar. Peneltian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa sekolah dasar dalam memecahkan masalah matematika. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskrptif.Teknik pengumpulan Data menggunakan observasi, tes dan wawancara. Adapun langkah penelitian yaitu mendesain penelitian, penentuan lokasi, mempersiapakan instrumen penelitian, validasi dan revisi instrumen,uji coba,analisis data, melakukan penyimpulan, dan menyajikan data hasil penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa lemahnya kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa sekolah dasar dalam memecahkan masalah matematika. Kata kunci: Koneksi matematis, masalah matematika, sekolah dasar

Abstract

Kemampuan pemecahan masalah merupakan hal yang penting dalam proses pembelajaran matematika. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa adalah mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran matematika berbasis Discovery Learning. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran matematika yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan model Plomp, yang terdiri dari tahap pendahuluan, tahap pengembangan atau prototipying, dan tahap penilaian. Penelitian ini menggunakan langkah-langkah evaluasi formatif untuk mengembangkan dan menilai instrumen. Setelah melewati proses revisi sesuai penilaian dan saran validator, diperoleh bahan ajar matematika berbasis discovery learning yang valid dari segi isi dan konstruk. Bahan ajar ini juga praktis dalam kemudah penggunaan dan sesuai waktu yang diberikan. Selain itu, bahan ajar ini efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the absence of standard instruments that can measure the ability of HOTS PGSD students. The type of research conducted is research development (development research) by using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Desagin, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). This research was conducted in class 17 BB 05 PGSD UNP. The research instrument used observation sheet and questionnaire. The result of this research is stated that HOTS instrument is worth dugunakan by expert of mathematician and expert of Indonesian language

Abstract

The background of this research was the demands of the industrial revolution 4.0 era. Hence, the students should have high-oder thinking skills and lecturers must be able to create learning that was able to achieve these demands. This study examined the effect of Blended Learning and Project Based Learning in improving the students’ Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS). This research was an experimental research with a quasi-experiment design type. The sample of this research was 90 students from Primary School Teacher Education Department at State University of Padang. This research proven that the obtained t count = 4.374 with df = 392.24 and sig (1 way) = 0.000 where sig (1 way) <0.05. It concluded that there was an improving of students’ HOTS ability that learned using Blended Learning and Project Based Learning rather than of using Blended Learning only. This research of using Blende-Learning and Project Based learning could improve on students' higher-order thinking skills. This research implied using Blended Learning and Project Based learning model was an alternative to improve Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS). Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh paradigma pembelajaran matematika disekolah dasar yang hanya berfokus kepada pemahaman konsep matematika sehingga pembelajaran matematika disekolah dasar berorientasi kepada proses pengembangan konsep saja. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatkan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa sekolah dasar melalui model project based learning. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas. Hasil penelitian menunjukan adanya peningkatan kemampuan koneksi siswa sekolah dasar menggunakan model project based learning di sekolah dasar. Implikasi penelitian ini dapat dijadikan rujukan dalam mengembangkan kemampuan matematika lainnya disekolah dasar.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the fact that most of the learning processes were not in accordance with the characteristics of elementary school students so that it had an impact on the quality of learning at schools that did not achieve the goal. The learning process included the process of planning, implementing, and assessing of the primary school teacher. The purpose of this study was to improve the teachers’ skills in carrying out the learning process by using a cooperative model of Think Talk Write type. This research was a school action research that adapted Mc Taggart and Kemmist's classroom action research design. This research consisted of stages of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. This research activity was carried out at SDN 23 Ujung Gurun Padang involving 10 teachers. The data collection technique was an observation sheet measuring the results of the learning process which including planning skills, implementation abilities, and assessment abilities. The data analysis technique consisted of quantitative data. The research found that the teacher's average score in carrying out the learning process using the Think Talk Write type cooperative model in cycle 1 was 68.30 and got an average score of 85.46 in cycle 2. This proved that there was an increase in teachers’ skills in carrying out the learning process by using a Think Talk Write type cooperative model through academic supervision activities. The implications of this research was that this model could be used as a reference for academic supervisors to improve the quality of learning for elementary school teachers.

Abstract

AbstractThis research was motivated by the necessity of having student books that suit to the 2013 curriculum objectives, the characteristics of elementary school students and the characteristics of learning outcomes. The study aims to develop valid, practical, and effective elementary school student books based on thinking actively in social context. Employing a 4-D research model (define, design, development and disseminate), the data were garnered using tests, questionnaires, observations, interviews and documentation. The data from tests and questionnaires were analyzed using descriptive statistics whereas the triangulation was used to analyze the data collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the developed student books met the valid criteria with a final score of 85.25% (very valid). It was found that the student books are easy to use, time-saving, and useful to implement in the classroom practices. It could also enhance student learning outcomes in terms of spiritual attitudes, social, knowledge and skills with a percentage increase of 15.35%. As those books are valid, practical, and effective; they can be used as a reference for the learning activities in elementary schools.Keywords: student books, 2013 curriculum, TASC, elementary schools.AbstrakPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh perlunya buku siswa yang selaras dengan tujuan kurikulum 2013, karakteristik siswa sekolah dasar, dan karakteristik hasil belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku siswa kurikulum 2013 berbasis thinking actively in social context untuk sekolah dasar yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Menggunakan model penelitian 4-D (define, design, development, disseminate), data dikumpulkan mealui tes, angket, observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh dari tes dan angket dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif sedangkan triangulasi digunakan untuk menganalisis data yang berasal dari observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa buku siswa yang dikembangkan telah memenuhi kriteria valid dengan skor akhir 85,25% (sangat valid). Buku siswa mudah digunakan, menghemat waktu, dan bermanfaat dalam implementasinya pada pembelajaran di kelas. Buku siswa juga dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa sekolah dasar pada aspek sikap spiritual, sosial, pengetahuan dan keterampilan dengan persentase kenaikan sebesar 15,35%. Karena buku yang telah dikembangkan valid, praktis, dan efektif, buku siswa tersebut dapat dijadikan sebagai rujukan untuk kegiatan pembelajaran di sekolah dasar.Kata kunci: buku siswa, kurikulum 2013, TASC, sekolah dasar.
