Abstract

Adolescents are currently in the midst of technological sophistication, which is very helpful for its development. On the other hand, many adolescents are trapped in the problem of technology addiction. Adolescents are the most age group who experience problems with the use of technology, including online games. Online game addiction is the loss of control over the use of online games, which makes other daily activities are disrupted. Online game addiction in adolescents have an impact on several aspects of life, such as health aspects, psychological aspects, academic aspects, social aspects, and financial aspects. Lack of understanding about the risks of online game addiction can get adolescent stuck in online game addiction. This research aims to describe high school students understanding about the risks of online game addiction. The sample consisted of 255 high school students selected by proportional random sampling technique. Data was collected using a scale measuring understanding of the risks of online game addiction. Data analysis used a quantitative approach with descriptive methods. The results showed that high school students understanding about the risks of online game addiction was included in the moderate category with an average score of 198,48 and an achievement score level of 55,14%. Therefore, school counselors must to improve high school students understanding of the risks of online game addiction.

Abstract

Abstract

Pendidikan karakter merupakan perwujudan dalam mencapai generasi yang cerdas dan mampu memiliki akhlak dan kepribadian yang berguna bagi bangsa Indonesia.  Suksesnya pendidikan dilihat dari seberapa besar karakter mereka ketika bisa menyeimbangkan kognitif, afektif dan psikomotornya untuk menjadi manusia yang sempurna. Pada tahun 2020 telah terjadi pandemi Covid – 19 yang menyebabkan semuanya berubah pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan disekolah berubah sesuai dengan aturan pemerintah dilaksanakan dirumah dengan daring atau belajar dengan jarak jauh. Penelitian yang dilakukan sekarang ialah deskriptif kualitatif dengan studi literatur yang berusaha memberikan gambaran solusi permasalahan pembelajaran daring terhadap pendidikan karakter peserta didik di sekolah menengah pertama. Naskah ini menampilkan problema pembelajaran daring, dampak pembelajaran daring terhadap pendidikan karakter peserta didik, solusi dan pemecahan masalah. Penelitian ini memakai studi pustaka / studi literatur, dengan mengkaji dari beberapa hasil penelitian, artikel, ebook dan studi kasus yang terjadi dilapangan.

Abstract

Social media merupakan seuatu perangkat yang mana pemiliknya dapat dengan gampang berinteraksi satu sama lain tanpa adanya halangan waktu, jarak, tempat dan biaya yang lebih murah. Penggunaan media sosial sebagai teknologi yang canggih sudah menjadi kebutuhan masyarakat dapat menguntungkan dan merugikan masyarakat terutama dalam perubahan sosial budaya masyarakat itu sendiri. Penggunaan media sosial dapat mempermudah pekerjaan masyarakat dan membawa keuntungan besar bagi pemiliknya. Media sosial kini telah menjadi bagian dari hidup masyarakat karena masyarakat modern tidak bisa hidup tanpa media massa. Dengan adanya media massa perubahan sosial budaya masyarakat sangat terlihat nyata karena sejak adanya media massa norma-norma, kebiasaan, sikap lama kelamaan terkikis pelan-pelan dan semakin dilupakan oleh masyarakat dan tergantikan dengan kebiasaan baru. Kemajuan teknologi dari tahun ke tahun dapat dilihat semakin maju terutama dalam kemajuan media sosail seharusnya diperhatikan dampaknya oleh masyarakat agar masyarakat tidak terbawa oleh efek negatif dari pemakaian aplikasi media sosial tersebut.

Abstract

Decreasing prosocial behavior shown bystudents is one of the problems associated with perceptions of parenting and peer social support. The purpose of this study was to reveal the relationship between perceptions of parenting and peer social support,and prosocial behavior. This study uses a correlational method and data was collected from a sample of 239 students, who were found using a purposive sampling technique. Data was collected using a scale of perception on parenting (37 valid items,α = 0.944), peer social support scale (31 valid items,α = 0.934) and prosocial behavior scale (45 valid items,α = 0.935). Data were then analyzed by multiple regression. The results show a correlation coefficient r = 0.173 and p = 0.00 (p> 0.05), which shows that there is a positive and significant relationship between perceptions of parenting and peer social support together with prosocial behavior.

Abstract

Senior students bullying juniors is one of the problems related to senior perceptionsof the familiarization to the school environment and peer social support, and the purpose of this study was to reveal relationship between these variables. This study uses a correlational method and has a sample of 202 students, who were found using techniques Proportional Random Sampling. Data were collected using a scale measuring senior perceptionsof the familiarization to the school environment (31 valid items = 0.914), a scale measuring peer social support (29 valid items = 0.873), and scale measuringbullying to junior (29 items valid = 0.902). Data were analyzed by multiple regression, and the results showed a correlation coefficient R = 0.089 and p = 0.00 (p> 0.05). The results showed that there was a negative and significant relationship between senior perceptions of familiarization to the school environment and peer social support with bullying to juniors.

Abstract

The right sexual identity, if a person is interested to the opposite sex. In fact, there are still some students who are known as homosexual. This article is aimed to define the sexual identity of students based on behavior, style and interest. This study utilized quantitative approach with descriptive type. The populations of the research were students of Universitas Negeri Padang 2017 and 2018 generation in amount of 15.752, and sample counted were 385 students (by using Taro Yamane formula and continued with Multistage Random Sampling Technique. The researcher employed instrument which isSexual Identity scale, model Gutman. After being analyzed with descriptive technique, the researcher got result that generally students tended to identify their sexual identity as heterosexual based on interest, behavior, and style. Counselor is hoped to be able to help students whom are identified as homosexual to the right direction(heterosexual) by giving counseling services needed by sexual identity.

Abstract

Resilience is the ability of an individual to rise from adversity or the problems faced. It is needed in dealing with various bitter events such asparental divorce. To attainresilience, children need emotional and optimistic arrangements in dealing with problems. The purpose of this study, therefore, wasto examinechildren's resilience in the face of parental divorce based on the regulation of emotions and optimism. This wasa case study conducted in the city of Padang. The subjects in this study were two students with the criteria of having divorced parents in lessthan seven months or with the provision that the divorce occurred within the study period. Data analysis techniques usedwereinteractive models. The results showed resilience in children was different evenwhilefacing the same problem, such as parental divorce. For instance, one of the respondents,OT, had an excellent emotional arrangement while facing the parental divorce, while the other one, BT,was poor. The level of optimism in children also declined due to parental divorce.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology has a gross impact on all aspects of life, including education. Therefore it provides convenience and flexibility in exploring science. However, information in Internet is not always verified. Therefore critical thinking is highly needed in dealing with these developments. The objective of this research was to determine the improvement of students' critical thinking skills after participating in content mastery services with Internet-based problem learning models. This study is a Quasi-Experiment which uses quantitative methods and The Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The subjects of this study were students of Public High School 2 in Padang. Furthermore, the research instrument used was a Likert model scale. Data analysis was performed with the aid of the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test and the Kolmogorov-Smirnov Two Independent Sample test. According to the research, content mastery services with Internet-based problem learning models are effective for improving students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat kemampuan siswa untuk berpidato di sekolah. Konsep diri dan kematangan emosi adalah dua faktor penting dalam penyesuaian diri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: 1) konsep diri, 2) kematangan emosi, dan 3) penyesuaian diri serta penyesuaian diri, 5) kontribusi kematangan emosi terhadap penyesuaian diri, dan 6) kontribusi dari Baik konsep diri dan kematangan emosi terhadap penyesuaian diri. Penelitian yang digunakan adalah 148 siswa SMP Pesantren Modern Terpadu (PMT) Prof. Dr. Hamka. 100 di antaranya dipilih sebagai sampel penelitian dengan menggunakan teknik proportional stratified random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah model Skala Likert. Hasil uji validitas instrumen konsep sendiri adalah 0,475. Sementara itu, hasil uji validitas instrumen kematangan emosi adalah 0,517 dan hasil uji validitas instrumen penyesuaian diri adalah 0,533. Hasil uji reliabilitas instrumen konsep diri adalah 0,834 dan hasil uji reliabilitas instrumen kematangan emosi adalah 0,858, Akhirnya, hasil uji reliabilitas instrumen penyesuaian diri adalah 0,852. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif, regresi sederhana, dan regresi berganda. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa: 1) konsep diri diri adalah dalam kategori positif, 2) kontribusi konsep diri terhadap penyesuaian diri sekitar 26,5%, 5) distribusi kematangan emosional terhadap penyesuaian diri sekitar 25, 2%, dan 6) kontribusi dari kedua self-consept dan kematangan emosional terhadap self self adjesment sekitar 35,2%. Implikasi dari penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai program bimbingan akhir bimbingan di SMP Pesantren Modern Terpadu (PMT) Prof. Dr. Hamka.
