Abstract

Education in Malaysia has been reformed to face the 21st century of education, especially in terms of the student assessment. This case study aimed to describe the implementation of school assessment at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama (SMKA) Slim River according to the principles of authentic assessment, i.e. the integration of teaching and learning, a variation of methods and criteria used, real-world problems posed, and holistic approaches. This study used a qualitative descriptive study methods to portray the four principles of authentic assessment presented in the narrative texts. The data was collected by observation sheets, interviews, and the documentation study, and they were validated by using three stages of qualitative data analysis. The findings showed that to some degrees the four principles of authentic assessment were already implemented in school assessment. Teachers had integrated assessment in their teaching and learning by sharing the learning target and questioning. The assessment had used the variation of methods and criteria such as written test, presentation and discussion, experiment, and project. The assessment was connected to the real-world problem by giving real-world problem and real-world task. The holistic principle had been implemented by using PEKA rubric.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence learners in choosing Biology as the subject of choice of UNBK and analyze the most dominant factor in influencing learners choose Biology as the preferred subject of UNBK. This research is a mixed method research using sequential mix method with qualitative-quantitative sequential explanatory strategy. The population in this study are students of science majors class XII who choose Biology in SMA N 1 Pecangaan and SMA N 1 Jepara, amounting to 208 learners. The technique of sampling data using random sampling technique. Determination of the number of samples using Isaac and Michael formula with a 95% confidence level, so that obtained at least 131 samples from 208 members of the population. The results of this study indicate: (1) There are 9 factors that influence the Friends and Parents, Interests and Motivation, Ideals and Profession of Parents, Ability, Teacher and Parents, School Environment, Perception, and Interest and Achievement. The most dominant factor affecting is Friends and Parents with an eigenvalue of 6,922 which can explain the variant variation of 24.723% of cumulative variance percentage of 71,675%.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the difference of students’ activity and learning outcome between students who do problem based teaching model practicum method and students who do problem based teaching model video observation method. This study is quasi-experimental with posttest-only design. Population of this research is the whole of grade VIII students. The samples of the study are VIIID (experimental class 1) and VIIIC (experimental class 2) which are taken using cluster random sampling technique. The result of this study is the class who did problem based teaching model practicum method got post-test result 77,31. While the class who did problem based teaching model video observation method got 70,75. According to Mann-Whitney test with Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) 0,002 < 0,05, it can be assumed that there is significant difference on students’ learning outcome between class who did problem based teaching model practicum method and class who did problem based teaching model video observation method. The average of students who are very active and active on the experiment class 1 is 85,15% and experiment class 2 is 78,90%. Based on the study result, it shows that there is difference of activity and learning outcome between students who did problem based teaching model practicum method and problem based teaching model video observation method.

Abstract

In the industrial revolution 4.0 era, the improvement in the quality of human resources is the concern of all parties. The integration of entrepreneurship education in science education can improve the quality of education. Innovative individuals begin with high creativity. Teacher candidates who have creativity can be involved in entrepreneurship and can increase the intention to become teacherpreneur. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between creativity with the intention of becoming a teacherpreneur on UNNES Biology teacher candidates. The quantitative research is analyzed by ex-post facto research strategy. The population in this study are UNNES Biology Education students for 2015, 2016 and 2017. The study sample consists of 190 students which are determined by proportional random sampling. The creativity of teacher candidates is measured by the scale of creativity. Whereas the intention to become a teacherpreneur is measured by the intention to become a teacherpreneur scale. The results of research data analysis using Pearson product-moment correlation technique with the help of SPSS. From the calculation results, it is known that the Sig. is obtained at 0,000 < 0.05 with a correlation value of 0.432 (included in the medium category) shows a significant positive relationship between creativity and intention to become teacherprenenur. The contribution of creativity to the intention to become teacherpreneur is 18.5%. Creativity has a positive and significant effect on the intention to become teacherprenenur. The obtained regression equation is Y = 162,759 + 2,132X

Abstract

Pengembangan Instrumen Kompetensi Guru dalam mengimplementasikan Kurikulum 2013 pada Guru merupakan kebutuhan mendesak karena dapat digunakan sebagai panduan bagi guru untuk menilai (evaluasi) dirinya sendiri secara objektif dan jujur. Bentuk instrumen yang dikembangkan adalah instrumen penilaian (evaluasi) kompetensi pedagogis dan kompetensi profesional guru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan instrumen penilaian (evaluasi) diri kompetensi pedagogis dan kompetensi profesional yang valid dan reliabel yang diimplementasikan pada guru-guru di SMP di Kota Salatiga. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Reseach and Development (R &amp; D) dengan langkah-langkah teori Borg and Gall yaitu (1) studi pendahuluan,  (2) perancangan, (3) pengembangan, (4) uji terbatas, (5) revisi hasil uji terbatas, (6) uji coba lapangan lebih luas, (7) revisi uji coba lapangan lebih luas, (8) uji kelayakan, (9) revisi hasil uji kelayakan, (10) Deseminasi (tidak dilakukan). Variabel Penelitian ini adalah kompetensi pedagogis dan kompetensi profesional guru. Pengumpulan Data melalui metode kualitatif, dokumentasi dan penilaian (evaluasi) diri melalui angket. Analisis data kualitatif digunakan untuk memperoleh data pendahuluan, sedangkan perolehan data uji coba dan pengembangan digunakan analisa kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) penilaian (evaluasi) diri kompetensi pedagogis dan kompetensi profesional guru di Kota salatiga belum memiliki instrumen khusus, tetapi masih terbatas pada penilaian subjektif kepala sekolah ataupun pengawas. (2) Instrumen yang dikembangkan berupa instrumen penilaian (evaluasi) diri kompetensi pedagogis dan kompetensi profesional. (3) Instrumen valid secara isi ditunjukkan dengan presentase skor penilaian validator 94,28 % untuk kompetensi pedagogis dan 92,14 untuk kompetensi profesional serta valid secara konstruk yang ditunjukkan dengan nilai koefisien korelasi lebih besar dari 0,3 dan reliabel yang ditunjukkan oleh besaran nilai koefisien reliabilitas 0,939 untuk kompetensi pedagogis dan 0,945 untuk kompetensi profesional.(4) Instrumen penilaian (evaluasi) diri kompetensi pedagogis dan kompetensi profesional yang dikembangkan mudah dipahami dari segi bahasa, konstruk sehingga praktis digunakan. Development of Self-Evaluation Instrument Related Master Teacher Competency Achievement and implementation of Curriculum 2013 at the Master is an urgent need because it can be used as a guide for teachers to assess (evaluate) self-competence of teachers. Developed forms of instruments are the instruments of assessment (evaluation) pedagogical competence and professional competence of teachers. This research aims to develop assessment instruments (evaluation) self pedagogical competence and professional competence valid and reliable are implemented in junior high school in Salatiga.  The results showed that (1) assessment self pedagogical competence and professional competence of teachers in the City salatiga not have a special instrument, but is still limited to subjective assessment principals or supervisors. (2 ) The instrument was developed in the form of an assessment instrument (evaluation) self pedagogical competence. (3) Instruments valid contents indicated by the percentage of 94.28% validator assessment scores for pedagogical competence as well as the valid construct as indicated by the value of the correlation coefficient greater than 0.3 and reliably indicated by the magnitude of the value reliability coefficient of 0.939 for pedagogical competence. (4) Instruments assessment (evaluation) self pedagogical competence and developed easily understood as expressed validator practitioners and teachers as rateers.

Abstract

Guru belum melakukan penilaian karakter pada pembelajaran Matematika di SD karena tidak ada instrumen penilaian karakter yang tersedia, serta ketidakmampuan guru untuk mengembangkan secara mandiri. Oleh karena itu dilakukan pengembangan instrumen penilaian karakter khususnya pada pembelajaran matematika pada siswa SD. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan. Model pengembangan memodifikasi model 4-D (Four D model) yang meliputi: (1) pendefinisian, (2) perancangan, (3) pengembangan dan (4) penyebaran. Produk instrumen penilaian karakter dilakukan uji validitas isi secara kualitatif dengan pertimbangan ahli di bidang materi dan penilaian. Uji validitas konstruk juga dilakukan secara kuantitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) dengan ujicoba instrumen kepada 150 siswa, serta diujicoba reliabilitas didasrkan pada construct reliability dan uji kepraktisan terhadap 20 orang guru sebagai praktisi. Hasil validasi ahli menunjukan instrumen penilaian karakter bernilai 4,72 dengan kriteria baik. Uji validitas konstruk instrumen observasi menghasilan 22 butir dan instrumen angket menghasilkan 20 butir. Instrumen observasi dan angket penilaian karakter memiliki validitas konstruk dan reliabilitas yang baik dimana nilai korelasi butir amatan terhadap factor melampaui cut off point yakni 0,45. Nilai koefisien reliabilitas melalui construct reliability juga telah melampaui batas yang ditetapkan yaitu 0,70 dengan tingkat kepraktisan instrumen 44,1 pada kategori praktis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dihasilkan instrumen penilaian karakter yang valid, reliabel, dan praktis yang dikemas menjadi buku panduan penggunaan instrumen penilaian karakter bagi guru. The purposes of this study are: to describe and to analyze the factual conditions assessment of students' attitude in learning English, grade VIII students of SMPN 13 Semarang, to estimate the coefficient of validity, reliability and the differences of developing instruments, to calculate the percentage that is capable revealed by developed instruments on the variables of performance which be measured, and to determine the practicality of the developed instrument. The method used is mixed method research with 10 steps research of design instrument development performance from Sugiyono. The qualitative data were obtained through the observation, interviews and documentation, while the quantitative data were obtained from the students' performance in developed reading aloud. Qualitative data analysis used triangulation techniques, whereas quantitative data analysis conducted test the construct validity, item analysis of different power and reliability testing instruments. The construct validity test KMO and Bartlett’s Test and the analysis of different point used correlation Pearson product moment and reliability by using α formula (internal consistency) and Mosier formula.The result of small-scale trial on the instrument has a coefficient of performance reliability that has average category, it is 0.57. On the wide scale trials, the reliability coefficient is 0.698 and it belongs to high category. Furthermore, the number of components (factors) that were formed on the instrument of performance had 4 factors. The total of variant percentage of the performance of students in learning English are able to be explained by four factors amounted to 63.908%. The result of practicality number of instruments is located at number 156 (practical) for performance assessment instruments. This instrument is expected by the teachers that there will be no difficulty in assessing students’ reading aloud in English learning

Abstract

Penilaian diri dibutuhkan untuk refleksi diri kompetensi klinis bagi mahasiswa sebagai dasar pengembangan diri. Penilaian diri yang selama ini dilakukan belum mampu secara akurat memberikan gambaran kompetensi klinis mahasiswa. Penelitian bertujuan mengembangkan instrumen yang valid, reliabel, dan efektif untuk melakukan penilaian diri kompetensi klinis. Penelitian menggunakan metode campuran dengan rancangan sekuensial eksploratoris. Penelitian dilakukan dalam 4 tahap. Tahap identifikasi dimensi kompetensi klinis dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam dan studi pustaka. Tahap penyusunan instrumen dilakukan dengan menyusun definisi konseptual, dimensi, dan indikator, penyusunan kisi-kisi instrumen, menulis butir-butir instrumen, dan penentuan skala pengukuran. Tahap validasi instrumen dilakukan dengan meminta pertimbangan ahli dalam bidang pendidikan kedokteran dan dianalisis menggunakan Content Validity Ratio (CVR). Tahap implementasi, instrumen diuji reliabilitasnya. Reliabilitas instrumen dianalisis menggunakan Alpha Cronbach’s. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dimensi kompetensi klinis terdiri dari hubungan dokter-pasien, anamnesis, pemeriksaan fisik, kemampuan diagnostik, tata laksana, ketrampilan komunikasi, dan profesionalitas. CVR diperoleh nilai positif pada semua butir sehingga instrumen dinyatakan valid. Uji reliabilitas instrumen menunjukkan nilai Alpha 0.949 sehingga instrumen dinyatakan reliabel. Butir-butir di dalam instrumen telah mencerminkan keseluruhan komponen kompetensi dan memiliki konsistensi dalam mengukur konstruk yang sama, sehingga dapat dimanfaatkan mahasiswa untuk mengukur kompetensi klinisnya masing-masing sebagai bahan pengembangan diri. Self-assessment is needed for self-reflection of clinical competence for students as a basis for self-development. Unfortunately, self-assessment has not been able to accurately provide an overview of student clinical competence. The aims of the study is to develop a valid, reliable, and effective self-assessment instrument of clinical competence.The study used a mixed method. The study was conducted in 4 stages. The identification of clinical competence’s dimensions in medical students was done through in-depth interview and literature study. The instrument compilation was performed by defining conceptual definitions, dimensions, and indicators, arranging the instrument blueprint, writing instrument items, and determining the measurement scale. The validation was performed by expert in medical education, and analyzed using Content Validity Ratio (CVR). Instrument implemented and tested quantitatively its reliability. Reliability was analyzed with Alpha Cronbach's. The dimensions of clinical competence consisted of: physician-patient relationships, anamnesis, physical examination, diagnostic ability, management, communication skills, and professionalism. CVR obtained positive values ​​on each item so the instrument is valid. Test reliability of the instrument shows Alpha 0.949 so the instrument is reliable. Self-Assessment Instrument of Clinical Competence for Medical The items within the instrument have reflected the overall component of competence and have consistency in measuring the same constructs, so that students can use it to measure their own clinical competence as a self-development material.

Abstract

The difficulty of learning mathematics faced by students can be caused by several factors. Internal factors (factors from within the child itself) such as talent, interest, motivation, self-concept and others, and external factors (factors from outside the child) is the factor of the house and the surrounding environment.The goal of the research is to develop self-concept assessment instrument of students in junior high school mathematics study that is valid, reliable, practical, and know the self concept concept of students on SMP Al Amin Dukuhturi Tegal. This research is a development research with modified Borg & Gall model without dissemination and implementation stage. The validity of the instrument contents is tested by 3 experts in the field, the score given by the expert is tested using V Index, and reliability with ICC. Small-scale trials to find out valid grains tested with pearson correlation and alpha cronbach for reliability. Large-scale test of grain validity was tested with pearson correlation, construct validity with Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), and reliability with alpha cronbach. The results obtained 26 valid items from expert validation with reliability of 0.817. Small scale test with respondent 35, obtained 22 valid items with coefficient > 0,334, and 0,848 for reliability coefficient. Large scale test with 60 respondents obtained 22 valid items with coefficient> 0,254, construct validity of KMO value equal to 0,646 with significance 0,000, while value of MSA> 0,5 for 22 item which form 8 factor according to aspect dimension of self concept. Test of practicality, from 5 mathematics teacher respondents stated practical with score >21. Most high-caliber self-concept is obtained in small and large scale trials. Self concept assessment mathematical can be used by teachers in order to improve the learning process.

Abstract

The current instrument has not been able to assess the skills of nursing students individually. The research aims to develop a standard instrument for measuring the elderly brain gymnastics teaching skills for nursing students that are valid and reliable. The method used is research development with 9 steps of development. Content validity of the instruments tested to three experts in the field, the construct validity, construct validity with Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), and reliability with CronbachAlpha. The results show the validity of the contents of 30 items having a value of ≥ 0.3 in a limited-scale instrument trial with a sample of 34 nursing students showing a percentage of the 87% readability test, which means a standard instrument for measuring the skills of teaching elderly brain gymnastics to eligible nursing students for used in large-scale trials. The KMO results in large-scale instrument testing in the field with the number of respondents 90 nursing students showing a value of 0.821, MSA> 0.5 and Bartlett's significance test of 0.000 this means the data is feasible for further analysis.The exploratory factor analysis show seven factors from 30 statement items. The value of factor is 0.3, which signify the whole item was valid. Based on the reliability test using Alpha Cronbach obtained value of 0.946 so that the instrument is reliable. The conclusions of the standard instrument for measuring the skills of teaching elderly brain gymnastics for nursing students developed were valid, reliable and feasible to be used. Benefits of the research is to provide information and thought contribution in an effort to improve the quality of nursing gerontik teaching during practicum activity of elderly brain gym exercises.

Abstract

Assessment of reading ability in English language learning is not directed to practice reading skills, so students assume the teaching of reading their goals solely answers questions. This study aims to design an assessment model of the ability to read short functional text in class VIII SMP with valid contents, constructs, reliable and practical. Instrument characteristics have valid and reliable scoring guidelines will provide the results of evaluation of learning in accordance with the achievement of competence in learning English. This research method is development research using Sugiyono development model. Samples of this study were 33 field test students and 100 students for usage test. The data were collected using interview guides, expert validation sheets, assessment sheets, rubrics and questionnaires. Data analysis was done on qualitative using expert hypothetical analysis and quantitative using character analysis of grains, field test analysis and usage test. The instrument shows valid content validity of 0.8 with medium criterion, reliably contents reliability of 0.731. Validity of valid construct with characteristic on path analysis each indicator has score> 0,4 ​​while value of T each indicator has score> 1,96 and for model match show all indicator R2> 0,5 then model say good fit. The reliability of instrument construct on reading aloud shows 0.898>0,70 and reading comprehension 0.895> 0,70 is said to be constructively reliable. Instrument reliability shows reading aloud 0,938 and reading comprehension 0,903 is said to be a reliable instrument. Practicality shows the result that the developed instrument is said to be practical. The developed instrument resulted in the guidance of the reading of standard functional text. The benefits of developed instruments are useful to enable teachers to administer student literacy assessments.
