Abstract

The K-13 curriculum has been implemented since July 2013 in several Indonesian schools and might have been in effect in all school arround 2014. The study was aimed to obtain information regarding teachers’ difficulties in impelemnting the curriculum 2013. The research was descriptive explorative research by means of qualitative data gathering which conducted from July 2016 to January 2018. The data on teachers’ difficulties in implementing the curriculum 2013 were gathered by means of interviews, observation, and focus discussion with elementary school teachers and the vice principals of curriculum in Tangerang City Indonesia. The result of the study showed that in implementing the curriculum 2013 , the teachers had more difficulties the content standard 35.2%, the process standard 25.3%, the assessment standar 20.0%, The teacher and educational personal standar 4.2%, the infrastructure standard 4.2%, the management standard 4.2%,the graduate compotence standard 3.90%, and the funding standard 3.0%. The highest of them is the difficulty in understanding the implementation standard, the second on processes standards and third on assessment standards. This reseacrh is expected to lead to an outcome that will answer the needs of the community that the curriculum 2013 requires a lot of improvements and development so that all the problems found can be solved.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the formation of social attitudes through character and Islamic Education learning in class IV students of West Jakarta Elementary Schools. This study uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. Data sources involve teachers and students. Data analysis techniques used the Mliles and Huberman models through the stages of reduction, display, and data verification. The results showed that learning related to the development of social attitudes was not running optimally, due to: 1) the role of teachers who did not comprehensively understand the 2013 curriculum, the teacher did not design learning strategies that focused on increasing the social attitude competencies that existed in core competencies (KI -2) both the media up to the evaluation that measures the development of students' social attitudes, 2) there are still obstacles such as uneven facilities, lack of socialization, teachers and students do not understand the contents of the curriculum as a whole. Meanwhile, the solution in dealing with the problem of implementing the 2013 curriculum in the subjects of character and Islamic Education learning  is: an increase in teacher competency in designing, and developing Learning models that meet the needs of teachers and students, especially those related to social attitude competencies.

Abstract

The object of this research is the influence of anxiety on the ability to write narration. Writing skill is an essential part of the language that must be internalized in elementary school students. In fact, there are still many students who find it is difficult to express their narrative ideas into a written language called writing. The difficulty is thought to raise anxiety in expressing language into written form. Students are afraid to start to write so that students, performance in writing affects the production of the resulting writing. Anxiety will produce a negative effect that adversely affects the student and hinders the writing activities undertaken. Therefore, the researcher raised this problem with respondents who were taken at grade V (five) level in the Public Elementary School in the Binaan III Region, Kebon Jeruk District, West Jakarta. The research method uses a quantitative approach with survey methods and path analysis techniques. Respondents used were 109 students from 3 elementary schools, namely SDN Kebon Jeruk 01, SDN Kebon Jeruk 08, and SDN Kebon Jeruk 10, by using the multistage cluster sampling technique. The research instrument was writing the narrative text for the variable narrative writing skill and a questionnaire for anxiety variables. The purpose of this study was to determine how much influence anxiety with the ability to write narration. The results of the study stated there was an influence between anxiety on the ability to write narratives of 202.

Abstract

This study aims to improve exposition writing skills of the 5th grade students through the application of the SAVI approach (Somatic, Auditory, Visual and Intellectual) in learning. This study is an action research carried out at SDK 6 Penabur North Jakarta. The research subjects were 5th grade students, amounting to 35 students. The implementation of the study was divided into two cycles, each cycle carried out three and four meetings. Data analysis techniques were carried out with qualitative descriptive techniques. The success of this study was seen from two criteria, namely the observation sheet applying the SAVI approach and increasing the results of exposition writing skills. The results of the study obtained are the application of the SAVI approach to make students actively move and search for their own information, students are increasingly active in group learning, creation of written and product made by students and able to find their own knowledge and skills. The increase in the results of exposition writing skills is also seen in the initial cycle and is increasing in cycle 2. This can be seen from the initial percentage of students who have not completed the task of exposition writing skills by 68%, then the percentage results in the first cycle are 45.7% and in the end of the second cycle students who obtained incomplete results were only 25.7%. Overall at the end of the second cycle all aspects and criteria for exposition writing experienced a significant increase.
