Abstract

Proficiency in English is one type of ability to be achieved in teaching English because English is an international language and the main means of communicating with westerners and understanding English books. So it is necessary to optimize learning and teaching English in formal and non-formal education institutions. This research aims at finding out whether or not English laboratory Management affects students’ achievement. As one of basic skills, speaking involves oral and written features. English laboratory may refer to conventional computer uses or the Computer Assisted Language Laboratory (CALL) in the process of English teaching. The English Department of Universitas Negeri Manado uses modern form of language laboratory teaching. The research was conducted in the Department of English in which its population was taken from the first semester students appearing in the academic year 2020/2021 and sitting in five classes and each class had twenty five students. The result is supported by the data showing tobs>ttable (P = 0.05); (df = 48) 8,031 > 2,010(P = 0.05); (df = 48). If t- observed < t-table, the null hypothesis (Ho) is accepted and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is rejected. There is a difference mean score obtained from both of controlled group at 67 showing 46% and the experimental group reaches 80,08 referring to 59.02 %. The students who had treatment in English laboratory management use successfully got higher score than students who did not have treatment about such management use. So it may conclude that the Language Laboratory management plays an important role in the success of learning English, especially to improve students' English speaking skills.

Abstract

The implementation of total quality management is applied to every educational institution as an effort to improve the quality of education. In this case, it is important to carry out management functions in each educational institution. This article discusses the implementation of total quality management in educational institutions to seek to improve the quality of education in achieving a quality standard in education. Every educational institution should show better quality and be able to compete. This is intended so that educational institutions continue to gain the trust of the public and stakeholders. To continue to get this, it must be improved continuously, both physically and non-physically. So as to make a quality educational institution and guaranteed quality. There are several main things that need to be considered in implementing total quality management in the world of education, namely: continuous quality improvement; determine quality standards, cultural change; changes in the organization; and maintain relationships with other agencies and customers and evaluate the system if anything is not appropriate

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the management of language laboratory infrastructure facilities, Language and Arts Faculty, Manado State University. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Sources of research data are heads of laboratories and lecturers of subjects who use language laboratories. Data collection techniques using interview techniques, observation and documentation study. The data analysis technique used descriptive qualitative data analysis. The results showed that: 1) The need for language laboratory infrastructure has been prepared annually according to the needs; 2) the provision of language laboratory facilities and infrastructure has not been running optimally; 3) The use of language laboratory facilities has been running quite well. 4) inventory of language laboratory infrastructure has been carried out properly, in accordance with existing standard procedures; 5) the maintenance of language laboratory facilities has not run optimally due to the lack of laboratory assistants, resulting in less than optimal maintenance of laboratory facilities; 6) the elimination of language laboratory infrastructure facilities has been carried out in accordance with existing standard procedures.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and describe digital learning management as an innovative learning media at the junior high school or junior high school level. This research is a qualitative research that collects data in the form of a series of descriptions of research results through interviews. Observation and documentation. This research was conducted at Manado I Public Middle School from August 2022 to September 2022. The results showed that planning at SMP Negeri I Manado. Judging from the research results, SMP Negeri I Manado had complete infrastructure according to its functions. And from the results of the documentation of digital tools that are sufficient and support digital media systems in the learning process. The results of the study show that the organization of digital media at SMP Negeri I Manado has been well implemented. The implementation of digital media as an innovative learning media for SMP Negeri I Manado is carried out first by training teachers how to use digital media in learning, then how to use internet sites, websites, videos, sound recordings, music, and Android applications to support and continue to enrich the learning process. . Supervision of digital media at SMP Negeri I Manado is carried out by the principal and teachers, staff and parents of students, to ensure that the use of digital media remains on the expected target, namely to support the learning process and improve student quality. Evaluation of digital media at SMP Negeri I Manado was carried out by analyzing the effect of using digital media in the learning process. So that the evaluation can be used for future program planning.

Abstract

This article aims to describe innovations in digital literacy learning management for students at State Vocational Schools in Manado City. This research is a qualitative research in which the data collection process is carried out through interviews, observation and documentation. From the research conducted, it is known that SMK schools in Manado City innovate in 3 ways, namely: Changing the teacher's paradigm of conventional education towards modern education with education and training activities and educational seminars and through improving academic qualifications, secondly Providing digital literacy skills to teachers, education staff and students through digital literacy workshops and training activities related to the use of the latest learning and learning media and technology and the third is by providing facilities and infrastructure that can be utilized by students, teachers and education staff to support digital literacy activities in the school environment. This method is considered appropriate and quite successful in encouraging all components of the school to learn and improve their respective human resources regarding digital literacy.
