Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of entrepreneurial leadership during the Covid-19 pandemic at Karitas Catholic High School in Tomohon City, the supporting and inhibiting factors as well as the solutions for handling them. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach. The research subjects were five people consisting of a school principal and four vice principals. The data were collected from interviews, observation, and documentation studies. The data were analyzed by an interactive model. The findings indicate that entrepreneurial leadership was implemented through the principal role as an explorer, a miner, an accelerator, and an integrator. The supporting factors are teachers’ IT skills, government allowances, parents’ support and proactivity, online learning facilities, and entrepreneurial instincts of teachers and students. The inhibiting factors are the late payment of tuition fees, the uncertainty of parents' income, the late disbursement of the government's school operational assistance (BOS) funds and the foundation's compulsory funds, the complexity of the foundation's centralized system, and the lack of online learning facilities. The efforts to overcome the inhibiting factors are coordination with parents, overcoming arrears, recording the number of students without online learning facilities, and conducting offline learning for them. The results suggest continuing to implement entrepreneurial leadership more openly and creatively, increase the supporting factors, and minimize the inhibiting factors with various efforts.

Abstract

The educational management quality is poor and weak. Massive works have been issued to increase its quality. However, those approaches work independently and separately, as a consequence, it does not solve the problem comprehensively. Philosophical and Christian education approaches are far from attention. Ellen White as a Christian education philosopher with an American background shares a potential concept to the tension. This essay employs qualitative research methods and literature study to formulate White's holistic approach concerning total quality management. In sum, with her anthropological and religious features, she argues that spiritual, physical, and mental dimensions should work together in harmony to establish the expected result in educational total quality management in Indonesia.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Manajemen mutu terpadu pendidikan masih lemah dan buruk.

Abstract

Report of covid-19 Center for Disease Control (CDC) in16 March showed that 31% of the 4,226 confirmed COVID-19 cases were people aged ≥ 65 years. The susceptibility of elderly individuals to several diseases is due to decreased immunity. Therefore, COVID-19 vaccination is an important step to take. This article aims to determine the management of COVID-19 vaccination in the elderly. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that vaccination is a preventive strategy to increase immunity in the elderly. Although the immune response is greatly reduced due to the aging process, the right adjuvant formulation can increase the effectiveness of the vaccine. An understanding of the adjuvant mechanism to increase vaccine effectiveness is needed to develop a stronger vaccine response in elderly individuals.
